Part 1:
Rabash. Article No. 35 (1986). The Fifteenth of Av
1. Rav’s Introduction: Let's see why this is considered such a happy, such a beautiful day for Israel the day of the 15th of Av and next week Yom Kippur the day of atonement, we don't quite see in Yom Kippur the day of joy. We will read and we will see what Rabash explains to us.
Reading Article No. 35 1986: (01:29) The Fifteenth of Av: It is written in the Mishnah
2. S. (27:17) He doesn't actually explain why the 15th of Av is a happy day and related to Yom Kippur like he says in the beginning, he talks about the women trying to see who to choose. but why is the 15th of AV a happy day and not Yom Kippur.
R. He really doesn't explain, yes. Today when the daughters of Jerusalem come out to the vineyards and dance there, sing there and they draw young men Bachur and then there's the beginning of connection between them.
S. For us, is there something that we need to think about on this day, is there something that we should do with it, but not the corporal day but is there something special in the work?
R. No, it's unrelated to our corporeal day. Is related to the process that we go through. We went through all sorts of special days, and now it's another one. Another special day called the day of joy.
S. What is the importance of the proximity to the 9th of Av it's a month later?
R. After we attain what's called 9th of AV, what are all the desires, intentions, qualities that we have against the connection between us and the attainment of the Creator. Then we can think of how we have to be connected, what conditions, and how to try and reach the beginning of adhesion.
S. How is it related to love? He didn't speak about love here at all.
R. It's still early. It's still early, even though it's called a day of love, but that's how it is. Where did you see that this day has been really accepted in Israel as a day of love?
S. In Israel and all over the world there is the day of love, we say that this is a day where we are seemingly nice to each other, man to his wife.
R. We'll throw a festival or what?
S. No, I'm exactly trying to decide this, the relationship with love between us and we have this day of love but there's nothing here in the article about love of friends, nothing about the connection between us so I'm trying to find how this relates to us. what's the connection
R. No, there's none and I also did not see that there's that with other Kabbalisst who really celebrated this day and didn't make any symbols, symbolic things on that day, not a special prayer, not a special garment, or special meals or no no.
S. Should we take something from it?
R. I think all of those things are still ahead of us. Therefore, the day will come.
S. Right now between the work between us can we take something from this?
R. No, just kind of assign a sort. We need to see that we need to reach that that we need to reach this general day of love.
3. S. (32:46) Nonetheless, according to the article, what is the connection between love of friends in the Ten and the ability of a person to be above reason?
R. We can't come out to above reason without being Incorporated in love of friends. He won't have a clue. He has to come out of himself to a vessel of love to a vessel of bestowal that is broader. Where will he take that from? Only from connecting with the friends.
S. We here and we learned that we still lack the understanding of how by me loving the friends I get the ability to work and justify the Creator that he is good and does good come, and There's None Else Besides Him. What's the link between these things?
R. You can't come to that without that, you can't. How to feel what love is if you're not moving closer to the Creator, so, it's not love. It's still egoistic for us but gives you some fulfillment, which is your own and on the sidelines.
4. S. (34:25) He writes at the end of the article that we see two things that are opposite to one another on one hand faith must be above eason completely unfounded, on the other hand we must obtain the flavors of Torah and Mitzvot . What does it mean, the flavors of Torah and Mitzvot have to be revealed?
R. Thats all the actions one does he discovers how through that he gets closer to everyone in reality, connects with them and receives in the common force, not in each and every one of them, but the common force between them, there he receives results from the correction.
S. This is very much related to our work here and love of friends?
R. If you're doing that then it is.
S. Then it means that we should have flavor in the work that we do in our connection.
R. Yes.
5. S. (34:51) How can someone who is created with the vessels of reception agreed to work above reason? how am I supposed to relate to his condition which we now learned about which is called faith?
R. Again repeat the question.
S. How could someone who's created with the vessels of reception agree to work above reason?
R. He doesn't just agree, he begs for it, asks for it to be able to rise to the degree to be able to work with vessels of bestowal.
S. How am I supposed to relate to this condition which we call faith?
R. He connects to the friends through his connection with the friends he begins to receive the light that reforms and that bit by bit raises him to another level, to another reality. He begins to appreciate his new vessels where he now begins to feel that they are born in him. That's how he approaches bestowal. All right?
6. S. (37:51) It is written that good days means that the world's ascent, what are these times that we can say there is an ascent of the worlds?
R. We don't know what is the ascent of the worlds, but we feel that there's a change in the influence of the world upon us, upon me let's say. I use that change, so if a new state comes I'm happy and I use it in order to turn to the Creator and to try to determine a new relationship between us.
S. When we discover changes in the connection between us, between the friends, can we attribute it to the changes that are happening in the upper one?
R. By determining new connections between you and higher, more spiritual degrees you want, by that you want to influence your attitude toward the Creator. yes, of course. That's basically our work. In that relationship we determine toward the Creator,we can feel what is his response. This is called me for my beloved and my beloved for me. That's how we advance.
7. S. (39:58) On the 15th of AV the daughters of Israel came out to the vineyards, what does it open up for us as opportunities on this day?
R. They want to say that in these times there is an opportunity for the part of in NUKVA female and the part of male, the spiritual vessels then they can connect and by that determine a new relationship that will give birth to new attainments parts of him and the spiritual world.
8. S. (41:28) All of the actions that a person performs he discovers in them how through them he gets closer to everyone,,who is reality, who connects with how through them he gets closer to everyone gets a common force, there are the results, the correction, how does this coincide with saying that faith should be above reason without any foundation?
R. I didn't understand the question. Faith has to be without any basis, meaning that in my vessels of reception I have no proof that faith will help me achieve something in my vessels of reception.
S. Where do we attain these flavors of Torah and Mitzvot ?
R. What Kilim vessels? In what vessels we attain the Torah and Mitzvot.
S. In the vessels of reception we have nothing else?
R. No, in vessels of bestowal, that I want to have vessels in which I will reveal Torah and Mitzvot from one degree to a higher degree and so forth.
S. I don't manage to grasp this.
R. I wish to reach a state where I live in a force of bestowal and that is what I now examine whether I'm capable of I get closer to the friends, to the group and I try to be connected to them and forces of bestowal toward the Creator I try to be closer to him, meaning to my beloved and my beloved to me, and I feel whether I get a response from Him to, on the condition that I try to be toward Him in a force of bestowal. There I receive in those tendencies of mine I receive a response from the Creator who explains to me whether I will be able to make such actions or not. Go ahead and ask more.
9. S. ( 44:54) How does a person with those responses that he gets later after he does the work, how would these responses he doesn't hang on to some flavors, some revelations, and that he continues to work above reason? and doesn't lose the importance of it?
R. I don't understand. He discovers all kinds of things, phenomena pleasant or unpleasant, but it doesn't stop him because he knows it's part of the path.
S. How does he not build his foundation out of this now there is some flavor, some illumination from the work that he did. How does he still rise above this and continue?
R. He doesn't transcend it he continues with it
S. What does it mean that a person establishes a foundation with this path, with this faith?
R. To determine the foundation of faith means that he wants to connect with the friends in mutual bestow and in that common force of bestowed that he feels, that dwells between them on that they build their steps forward.
S. It says here that a person should reach the annulment of the vessels of reception and then we achieve vessels of bestowal in which a person can aim to bestow, so the vessels of reception and the vessels have bestowal always have this kind of game between them or is this something that eventually settles and the vessels of reception were done with and we moved to the vessels of bestow?
R. That's when a person determines that.
10. S. (46:55) I understand that the more a person comes closer to faith, the more he becomes cleansed of any logic, expectations?
R. He wants to depend on the upper force. the force of bestow. and not to see results in vessels of reception.
S. Here there's a question. What can I do each and every day in order to change my approach so that it will bring me truly to this cleansing, getting rid of any logical expectations?
R. That all depends on how you hinge your success on being in bestowal. What is faith for you? You don't know exactly what that is, what that picture is to that quality. but bestowing to someone that you don't owe anything to, that will be called a spiritual force. the force of bestowal.
S. Is this a result of some action that I do this is a direct result or the direct result that always comes in an indirect way will come in some roundabout way I shouldn't even expect.
R. No, I have to be drawn to it. I have to move towards this forcefully.
S. I need to be drawn to perform actions without expecting any logical reward, is this how it is?
R. Of course. That to me is the reward.
11. S. (49:09) I now heard that I need to be drawn in order to forcefully get closer to it, but here it says that there is faith for the person cannot see that he will get any benefit for himself, he immediately loses the energy to work and becomes like the log without any desire or strength. So what does he do then?
R. He continues.
S. With which force does he continue?
R. That he demands to have strength.
S. That a log has the strength to demand?
R. That inner feeling is a log, like a log but with that he has some ability to make two demand, yes.
S. Demand what?
R. Demand to have the possibility to feel the force of bestowal. To attain the force of bestowal.
.I think that each one feels somewhat free and some don't feel what it's about.
12. S. (50:49) What is the state that a person holds on to the staff of that faith? What is the state he lets go of the staff and becomes a serpent?
R. Well that's clear to us now even more that if I go back to my mind and my emotion only, this is called a serpent and if I want to go above that that means I'm going with the staff, that I have what's above and below and importance and then I advance.
S. In other words the state and the preparation the friend was describing that he's always walking around smiling and that he's thinking of the friends and I got infected by it and I started smiling at the friends at the moment before in a moment after I could sit here like I'm sitting in a bus next to a stranger that I don't know them I don't even relate to them so what is this complete this connection where I truly value the friends in a state where I don't even notice them?
R. These are two states that you determine from your inner attitude.
S. Is this related to faith or these things related?
R. Well there is some attitude to that, some relationship with that, yes.
13. S. (52:45) Why is Malchut called poor in the article ?
R. It's called poor because she cannot understand, feel, appreciate the upper bestowL on it. okay
14. S. (53:26) I really liked how he describes things in the TES language here, the 9th of Av is like the judgment day and belongs to Malchut because she is poor, it's like a mirror that doesn't shine and in the15th of AV there are six days and then Malchut is the 7th that she enters a coupling with her husband and so on the 15th day she reaches love. Is that correct? Am I wrong?
R. Whatever you said you said it. It doesn't matter, everybody heard it.
15. S. (54:33) According to all the articles in this one we have to work in faith above reason, that's clear that that's required. About this term faith sometimes it's described as faith is good and other times it is depicted as the intellect and we have to go against it. Can you make some sense of this term of faith?
R. There is simple faith, there is faith above reason and we need to see which degree of faith we work. This is how it is with which degree we work.
S. We have to work in faith above reason, but regarding faith some articles treat it as good but that we have to acquire faith and other times no. So what is the context and why does it happen that way or am I mistaken.
R. We'll have to put these things in order we didn't reach yet the ability to gather all of these pieces of knowledge in order to reach the summary.
16. S. (56:28) Here ZA is reached because he has Hassidim. Why do we have to desire the light of Hochma? Don't we just need the light of Hassidim? It says that ZA is called rich because it has Hassidim. Why do we need to yearn for the light of Hochma? Isn't Hassidim sufficient?
R. ZA only gets us the opportunity to open up the vessel so that we become a vessel of Malchut. She has a desire for all the light of Hochma to be filled with it so Za is not the end of development of the vessel. We are getting closer, you are right.
17. S. (57:29) What are the people of Israel that are mentioned here in the article?
R. The people of Israel, is a person, every person in the world as Baal HaSulam writes in his books, that it doesn't matter what the color or the race, Etc but rather what rather matters is his direction toward the Creator. Yashar Kel, Israel. He has this direction and that burns in him to reach the Creator then it is called Israel.
S. It also says here that the chosen one is chosen among the nations.
R. Young man, Bachur and also the chosen one means a new force that awakens in a person. a young force that thanks to it a person can see himself that he awakens and that he rises above his previous qualities.
S. Why is it called chosen among the nations? There's Bechur which means young man and they are those chosen, why is that?
R. It means that he has more forces, more discernments so that he can know what the truth is and how to reach it and how do we acquire it . This is clear?
18. S. (59:26) You said that we need to connect in mutual bestowal and with that common force of bestowal we build or step forward. How are we in mutual bestowal on one hand and other hand above reason? In mutuality there is some sort of exchange to reach above reason in mutuality?
R. I do not know what to tell you. We just need to work together with a single goal and as much as possible to connect our forces in order to attain it. That for the time being is a simple thing, it is not divided in us into different actions, maybe contradicting actions that would confuse it. No only in such a simple way.
19. S. (01:00:04) It says the daughters of Jerusalem came out with a borrowed white garment. It also says about the wealthy among them with regards to ZA that he wants to multiply, he wants to increase what does that mean?
R. Again the entire question.
S. There are two questions here about two places in the article. The first question; it says that the daughters dressed in borrowed white garments in order to shame those that don't have it. What does that mean?
R. They come out with white garments that should be clear that is Hassidim next.
S. There is another place where he writes that the ZA will not increase over the Yod?
R. Only how much they can hold on to with their screen.
20. S. (01:02:07) What kind of prayer do we need to raise for the world Kli on this special day?
R. That we, all of us, want to enter into contact with the Creator so that he will be our bridegroom and he will raise us, elevate us to the degree of connection, all of us together in our desires, the man and the women so that we will all be as a vessel of reception that is willing to be entirely in bestowal, in that we will be suitable for the Creator.
21. S. (01:03:21) What is the relationship between that young man, Bachur to all kinds of different women, the rich, the wise?
R. These are discernments that we have in Malchut with the respect to ZA that there are four kinds of women, such and such and such where each one according to his nature is drawn to another kind of bride.
S. Each one according to his nature? What is that about?
R. Each one chooses according to his nature.
22. S. (01:04:18) I wanted to ask about faith, he writes that there is no basis to rely on. What is the basis of faith if there is no foundation?
R. I did not understand.
S. He writes that he works on receiving and he has always a foundation that strengthens him regarding faith here is no basis. How does he rise to faith if there is no bass? What do you work on and what do you lean on?
R. I work specifically without having a foundation.
S. What do you have then?
R. It's in the opposite manner.
S. What do you have?
R. What do you have? I hold on to the group and I hold on to the Creator. They gave me forces so that I hold on to this force and it becomes for me as a foundation as an infrastructure upon which I stand and even though to someone who does not have it it seems to like I'm flying in mid air however, someone who is in it he sees that I am actually have the strongest foundation.
S. Faith is the basis to work? It replaces the old basis?
R. Yes, the force of faith it replaces the ordinary force that I have of knowing, of calculating,
S. But this alternative comes when you attain faith?
R. Yes.
S. When you approach faith you have no basis to work on the contrary you always see how your body tells you that the work is not for me and so forth and you ultimately agree that it is not for me and it will never be for me so how do you raise the faith if that is the voice that speaks in you?
R. If I shift from the vessel of reception to the vessel of bestowal then I have no problem holding on to the vessel of bestowal and I feel in them a safe ground, a safe infrastructure.
S. What does it mean to move from the vessels of reception to the vessels of the bestowal? I do not press a button and move between the vessels?
R. It depends on how much I am adhered to the group..
S. You adhere to the groups but how does the transition Happen? How do you cause this transition to move to the vessels of bestowal?
R. First of all, I do not do it the Creator does it according to my request. my demand. and he moves me.
S. That is clear, how do you come to a demand from the Creator when all of you say that the work is not for me and I have no strength for it as he writes in great detail. Where does the request of the Creator come from if you are entirely convinced that you have no chance?
R. Why should I persuade myself that there's no chance?
S. That is how nature works. Rabbash writes this too.
R. That is how nature works but I work against this nature with the group. Nature all in all
it comes through me but if I connect myself through with a group then through the group I already a different solution comes to me.
S. The ability to ask of the Creator that will move you from vessels of reception to bestowal , where do you bring this from if your nature is always opposite to it? Where do you take it from?
R. From an attack. That we all of us in the group agree between us that we have to reach and attack.
S. What are we attacking?
R. Ourselves, our ego.
