Part 1:

Baal HaSulam. The Arvut [Arvut]. #18

1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:30) Yes, this is a very important article. One of the special articles of Baal HaSulam. Because this quality that we need to receive from above, this great correction to be in the Arvut for each other, it is the correction of the human species. Everyone will eventually have to reach the form of Adam ha Rishon which means to be as one man, one Adam in mind, in heart, and not to feel that there is anything that is separating between them, Rather each and every one feels every one is truly together with them in one body. As a spiritual body, a corporeal body, a body that is incorporated with the thoughts, desires, qualities and yearnings so that there is nothing that is separating between them. They search for what can be separating between them in order to erase these deficiencies and to truly be as one and then they reach the form of Adam, similar to the Creator.

We have to realize that this goal is ahead of us and we should hold on to it as our goal. As the future form of every ten, of the entire group of Bnei Baruch, of all of our groups, and all people and nations. As it says, “they will all flock unto him,” and this is how we should see our future. With God's help this will come as quickly as possible. It all depends on breaking the partitions between us. So that there is nothing that is separating between us. Rather all of these differences that now we may discover, we may describe between us, all of those will actually become forces of connection. The darkness shall shine as light. Then, as much as we connect we will feel that the Upper Light, the Creator, is filling all of these places between us. As much as we had limitations in our connection, instead of them, we will receive forces of connection. This is how we will feel ourselves as 620 times greater in our connection, in our attainment, in our feeling in the revelation of the Creator for all of us together as one Kli. This is actually the matter of Arvut.

2. S. (05:00) How do the differences, barriers and walls between us become forces of connection between us?

R. The darkness shall shine as light. Specifically those differences, the opposite forces that we feel that we are not capable of skipping over them, of canceling them - all of these forces will be inverted and become the opposite. Great connections, huge bonds, such that we will feel ourselves in one body, in one heart, in systems that are all one system and each one supports everyone. This is how everyone brings themselves into a single system, a single Adam.

3. S. (06:12) You say that it disappears at some stage. Only love remains, the resistance disappears completely?

R. The resistance, the rejection, inverts into an assisting force. Darkness shall shine as light. Precisely by us correcting the distance, the differences, the inner resistance, the rejection between every person and every other person. By that the same small light that exists between us, that is hardly felt, is felt as the light of life, the sustenance, but not more. It's not that it is the Upper Light of the Creator and it shines to us in all of the secrets of nature. Now we don't feel that. That same connection will grow six hundred and twenty times more and each and every one will have the feeling, the peculiar feeling of the whole world, that all of us, all of us are as one man in one body. The force of the Creator is filling us without any differences, without any boundaries. This is how we reach complete Arvut.

S. We always walk towards connection and discover resistance and try to then ask for strength, a stronger connection. Is there a phase where this ends and we go to another kind of work?

R. The stages that we go through they all bring us to the revelation of the lack of Arvut, the lack of connection. So much so that we demand, we cry out, each one of us from his heart, and all of us in our common heart, that the Creator will break these partitions and will let us feel Him as one force that is connecting and filling everyone. This is actually what we need to receive on Mount Sinai. Upon the mountain of hatred we specifically, upon this resistance, discover the connection into a single force.

4. S. (09:40) Are those barriers between us?

R. The will to receive inside each and every one shuts everyone inside his own box. We cannot feel the other. We feel that we are separate. Each one thinks differently, understands and feels differently, that as much as we tried to break through these boundaries between us, we are not capable of it. They exist, that's on the one hand. However on the other hand, the Creator ultimately collects all of our efforts and our prayers and he connects us together.

S. What is the action of breaking the walls between us?

R. The action of breaking the partitions, the walls, is that we cancel the boundary where each one feels that he is closed inside of himself. He lives inside of himself. We cannot get out of it. The effort to get out of oneself and connect between the hearts, inside of the hearts of the friends, this effort, bit by bit, brings us more into a prayer. A true prayer. We already cry out that we are not capable, on the one hand, of canceling these boundaries. On the other hand, we are not willing to give up on that, that they exist. We want to cancel them. We ask the Creator for it, that He will do it. All in all, it is a united prayer to the Creator that He will revoke the boundaries between us. Out of the partitions that exist in the heart of everyone towards others, they will fall.

S. I heard you say that the partitions are the will to receive that separates us. How is it possible to break the matter of creation? How can you break the will to receive?

R. We do not break it, we don't do anything on our own. We only demand, we ask, we plead with the Creator that He will cancel what He did. He deliberately, as it says, “I created the evil inclination and I created the spice of Torah,” that by wanting the light of the Torah to appear between us, by that he will ask the Creator and the Creator will cancel it, this boundary. And then we connect, “as one man with one heart.” This is the work that we need to do in the giving of the Torah of the Creator to us.

S. So on our part the feeling of the partition, we have to feel the partition, but the action of breaking it depends on the Creator ultimately?

R. Of course. We never perform any correction. We just need to discover the lack of correction and ask the Creator to cancel it, this partition. He will make the connection.

S. So it becomes clearer and clearer that you are being put through processes to bring you to a prayer and you can't do anything besides reaching the prayer ultimately?

R. That's correct, yes.

5. S. (14:40) The Creator created these partitions deliberately. He shattered us so that we will feel separate from each other somewhat. There's a certain goal to it. What exactly, what part of that do we need to overcome? There still needs to be a difference between us, yes?

R. Not that there needs to be a difference. I don't keep this difference between us. Rather I want them to be canceled as much as I am capable of discovering them, that they stand between us.

S. A question that should come before. Before the shattering we felt as one? Or just each one felt that he's everything, meaning one?

R. Before the shattering we felt that we were in one Kli.

S. And it was we, it was individuals in pieces that felt it?

R. Yes, but this was on the degree which is not spiritual because we didn't really have the evil inclination between us.

S. Ok, so now that we want to overcome this shattering, the evil inclination between us. What do I need to overcome here? When we say, “one man with one heart,” I still feel the difference between me and others right? There is a difference?

R. Yes, yes. I discover it more and more between me and everyone.

S. So, I keep this difference?

R. You don’t need to keep it. I discover that this is how it is.

S. But when I describe to myself the corrected state and that I pray to the Creator to reach. I need to still feel the friends are separate from each other and yet together how?

R. I imagine to myself that I want to get closer to them and to be together with them in each and every one. That's how we will learn. Each and every one comes closer to this picture.

S. So on top of feeling separate and disparate I feel that there is me and there is him? Me and the friend?

R. Yes, and along with that I begin to feel that I am drawn to him and I want to cancel the difference between us.

S. What's the difference that I need to cancel?

R. I want to adhere to him. I want to adhere to him “as one man in one heart,” so that my inclination towards connection with him will meet precisely his inclination to connect with me.

S. And what's that opposite quality that I want to cancel?

R. This is the boundary between us.

6. R. (18:00) This is actually what we feel that we discover this partition between all of us which is as Mount Sinai. It is something that is separating between us entirely, completely. Then this point of connection, the most inner point in the heart of each and every one, is willing to rise on the top of the mountain to connection with everyone, and with the Creator. Moses, he is like the whole of the nation. It is the common point between all of us that does want to rise above all of the forces that separate between us and connect with the Creator.

7. S. (19:19) If I understood correctly, then there's no breaking the partitions on the same level. We rise to another level of reality and connect there.

R. Yes.

S. There are no partitions there?

R. No.

S. And below the partitions remain?

R. Down below, when we speak about this, it all depends on the attainment of this nation. This great group that wants to somehow, in some form, partial form for the time being, of these and those to reach connection, it is still below, down below.

S. What I'm asking is whether in everyone's feeling there are these two parts, two levels where above we are connected together with the Creator, and below we feel this thing that we have to cover?

R. Yes, you could say that.

8. S. (20:37) How can I give to the friends the confidence that there are 600,000 people who care for them?

R. You try to bestow to them, influence them with your inclination towards connection. This is what you can do with all of your heart, with everything that you are capable of.

9. S. (21:40) How to keep holding onto the connection with the friends? What to do when we feel disconnect?

R. This is our work. We need to learn how we do it. About this it is written in all of the articles of Rabash and Baal HaSulam. I am saying Rabash first because he specifically engaged in this his whole life and we need to actualize what is written there. Meaning, bit by bit, we need to build the connection between us. The corporeal as well as spiritual connection. Try to see the mountain that stands between us in order to rise on top of it with our inclination towards connection between us. Feel the Arvut in its complete form. I feel with every one that they support me and I support every one.

10. S. (23:18) What does it mean that we go back to the structure of Adam HaRishon?

R. We learned from the shattering of the vessels that eventually all of these vessels need to reach a structure of a single Kli. This is what we have to reach. This is actually the sign, the symbol, of the holiday of Shavuot. We get closer and we connect, “as one man with one heart.” The Upper Light, the Torah, then enters into us when we make of ourselves a complete form of connection.

S. There's a connection in the ten that we more or less feel. But where is the form of Adam ha Rishon here? How to find it?

R. The form of Adam HaRishon exists in the ten in a way that it is concealed. We need to find all kinds of forms that will bring us closer to being connected, “as one man with one heart.” Then we will gradually feel this quality which is called Arvut, which is connection. We will exist in a single desire. In a single thought. A single inclination towards a single Creator. All of this we now need to discover through our efforts towards the future connection. It all depends only on us. We received from above all the means in order to build Arvut between us. Arvut is this measure of connection, this system, this network that we build between us in order to be as one Kli.

11. S. (26:20) Before the state of Matan Torah, the receiving of the force of Arvut, there has to be a preliminary stage of exiting the ego, of exiting Egypt. There has to be such a group feeling that we went out, and we have a demand, we have an urgency to receive the Torah. I wanted to ask, what is the state within the ten that came out of Egypt? Are we ready for the state of the Matan Torah?

R. We need to yearn for this. The indications, the signs, we do not know when the new states will come. Then, we will see how we exist in them.

S. Why am I asking because even when you don't completely detach, in our state we have this matter of self-benefit. You understand?

R. Of course. Self-benefit continues throughout the entire path. Matan Torah is just the beginning. Matan Torah, the connection into one body, this is just the beginning of the connection. It's Nefesh of Nefesh of Nefesh. Later on we will continue all of the wars, conquering the land of Israel, building the land, and building ourselves. That all comes later.

12. S. (28:18) Is being at the foot of the mountain the feeling that we will never be able to love the friends like the Creator unless the Creator helps us?

R. Yes. It’s to feel that without the help of the Creator we will simply remain at the bottom of the mountain. And, we will not be able to climb on top of it.

13. S. (28:52) When we are at the peak of the mountain is that the height of the ego?

R. The peak of the mountain, on one hand is the height of the ego; on the other hand, it is the point of connection with the Creator.

14. S. (29:12) What does the quality of Arvut look like?

R. “As one man with one heart.” This is how we feel it.

15. S. (29:29) Can we say that the connection is a result of Arvut?

R. Yes.

Reading Item 18. (29:42) “Therefore, the Tana described the Arvut..”

16. S. (31:10) In our work, we engage in many scrutinies between us over time. It also comes up in this part as we hear that we have to justify the friend and judge the friend to a scale of merit. Why wasn't there a state like this, where he sees him drilling and he says one judges through his own flaws? So where do you draw the line between correcting the friend that's doing something and justifying the friend and wrapping him with love?

R. Usually this is why we were given the whole ten for this purpose so that we can discuss it and check between ourselves what each and every one sees. This is one thing. Second, when we want to connect between us, we are constantly discussing if we are connected. We have to discuss these things. And we understand how much we are able to understand from Baal HaSulam and Rabash. How to correctly perform it, implement it.

But of course, each and every one on his own can't be the judge and do it for himself. Certainly, the whole ten must discuss each and every state. If these are serious states, that is how it looks at least as it appears to one of the friends, then we are concerned about how we can resolve this problem between us. Reach agreement in the ten. If we do agree according to the principles of Kabbalah then we move on. We continue until we have another problem, and another problem, and there are such. Usually we discover these problems on the way and we understand that the whole problem is how to get along with them. How to work with them. How the Creator will help us to see them. Rise above them and to advance in this way.

S. There is a point where we try to discuss and scrutinize. And, this point where we say,” where the one who is drilling,” and even getting back-up from some of the boat and some agree with him. Is there a point where we make a decision and we go this way, or that way? Or that we keep like that and the light corrects?

R. These are things that we have to grow over and understand them and advance and make a decision, so this is our work. This is our work. We shouldn't think that we are advancing in a nice way and everything is good and nice. First of all, it is a mountain. Secondly, the mountain comes from the word Hirhurim [thoughts, contemplations] that we have doubts and collisions between us. There is one force among us that is capable of rising, of climbing on the mountain, which is called Moses. This is the force that actually rises. It rises because it is capable of having mercy over everyone. It is capable of subduing everyone. It suffers for everyone. He is patient.

17. S. (36:05) You told us before that we need to clarify and see the spaces between us and fulfill them. By asking for the friends' deficiencies am I minimizing the gaps between us? Will we feel between us that we are drawing the light and fulfilling this space? Then we feel like we are in a single boat? Because, what is it to drill the hole in the boat? We have to feel that we are in a single boat.

R. I am not going to check on each and every friend, where is he drilling in the boat? How is he drilling in the boat? In fact, I don't even want to see that. It's not that my goal is to check each and every one, and come to him, and demand of him to change, to correct himself and this is how we advance in the corrections. We need to detect all of the disturbances between us. Whatever we are capable of. Whatever we are not capable of, then we can't. There are many more that later on will be revealed; not of this kind, of Mount Sinai. This is how we will advance.

S. This is the form of the work that you said that we need to do later on?

R. The form of our work is in overcoming the disturbances between us. There is no other.

S. But how will we feel that we are in a single boat?

R. That this is true, that there is one Management, one Providence, working on us. A single law of Arvut. And, it operates and connects us together, bit by bit. This is how we gradually will feel it.

18. S. (38:38) It seems to me that only the feeling of love of the Creator towards me or the friends towards me can pacify and satisfy my ego. Is that correct?

R. Yes, that's correct.

S. How, inside of the ten, I can feel that the friends love me and that the Creator loves me, so that I will feel that I'm opposite to them and to Him?

R. You have to yearn for connection with the friends and through them for connection with the Creator. We have to feel that we have these bonds of love between us. Out of that, you will begin to see how much you are in a system that is going towards connection and holding itself in this way.

S. Do I need to search for any kind of evidence or proof that the friends love me and I do not love them?

R. No, no. We shouldn't really search for where it is that you do not love them. You are searching for tight bonds of connection, of love between you and your group.

19. S. (40:27) It is not clear. It says that the Tana explained the Arvut through this proverb, this allegory. What is the Arvut with this allegory? How do we keep the Arvut?

R. Each one is a guarantor for the other. If I drill a hole then both of us will enter the depths of the sea and we will die. We are not going to reach the safe shore.

S. But it's clear that we are connected in the result. The result will be the same for both of us. How do we keep it on the side that, “he is breaking the law.” How can he keep the law? And, those who keep the Torah, how can they keep the Arvut?

R. For both of us, or let’s say for each and every one in the ten, must guard everyone. He has to check whether the others are going in the right direction. If they are holding themselves. If they are holding on to the Arvut. If they are holding on to the Creator, keeping the walls of their boat, of their group.

S. And if they're not keeping, how do we act from here?

R. If they are not keeping it we immediately have to correct it, fix it.

S. What does it mean? How do I correct someone that is drilling? What does it mean to correct him?

R. You don't understand what it means to correct or fix a hole in the boat?

S. I understand that. I can throw him into the ocean or take away the drill.

R. That's not a correction. It's not a correction if you throw him into the sea.

S. So, I need to make him stop drilling this hole.

R. That too. You should understand what correction means.

S. Is there a flaw in the one who here is called the “one who keeps the Torah,” or is it only the “one who is drilling the hole” who has the flaw?

R. Yes, the one who is drilling the hole.

20. S. (42:49) For a long time, I have been trying to depict this goal of “one man with one heart” and I don't really manage to do it. Can you help me with that? Okay, so in the human body there are many cells, let's call it they are in Arvut with each other. Let's call it according to the law of nature. And, this is how we have this substrate upon which the awareness called “man” or “myself” is built. Now, each one of us is such a self and when we are in Arvut then we become this substrate where there is an even higher awareness built, what is that called?

R. It is the collective awareness or consciousness. It is called Adam HaRishon.

S. Or is it something else?

R. No. Adam HaRishon in the end is all of the souls that are disconnected between them. They have to start moving each one towards the other and connect.

S. These cells, seemingly there's no relation that we can imagine between the awareness, the consciousness, of each cell and the collective consciousness. It's like a different level that we can't relate to.

R. I don't understand what you are trying to ask.

S. What happens to the individual consciousness when we connect together into collective consciousness? So then the individual consciousness rises to the level of the collective consciousness. So, myself, I disappear and I'm swallowed in my friends, as we say.

R. Yes.

Reading Item 19 (44:43) “Rabbi Elazar, son of Rashbi clarifies the matter of Arvut.."

21. S. (48:03) First of all he says that it is enough to have just one nation to keep the Torah, meaning just the beginning of the correction of the world because it is impossible to begin with with all of the nations of the world. What does Baal HaSulam actually say the nation here is the Ten or all of Bnei Baruch?

R. Nation is a group of people who have something in common.

S. The spiritual direction of course.

R. Yes, the spiritual root.

S. He speaks out about the ancestral merit that the fathers kept the entire Torah even before it was given. That is what is not clear to me. Secondly, what does it mean that they kept it without the ladder of the practical aspects of the Torah?

R. That the type of souls that the type of the will to receive that existed in Abraham, Isaac and Jacob they had such a will to receive that understood that they have to connect together and only in that way there is existence at all.

S. What does it mean that they kept the whole Torah before it was given?

R. They carried out all of the connections that exist. If there was no shattering then Torah would not be needed, Torah means the correct connection between all of the broken pieces.

S. They were capable of doing it because they have been more refined?

R. Yes, okay.

22. S. (50:05) What is the description that the Creator went around with the Torah and confined anyone to accept it? What is it didn't you know who was worthy of receiving it?

R. That you can rise to the heavens and ask HIm.

S. But they are all describing it here.

R. Where is it written?

S. It is written here.

R. Then it is written, I don't know how to say it simply. Simply, there were no more souls in the world that were closer to realizing the Torah.

23. S. (50:58) He drills a hole in the boat and he doesn't understand and doesn't say what he's doing?

R. I don't know, I wasn't next to him.

S. This exists in each one of us also?

R. Yes, yes. That's how we need to accept it, so don't accept it physically like he's sitting and drilling and he is sitting there and just drilling with a power drill. No, it's a matter of what happens even in a group, even today in the whole group there is such a possibility to drill a hole and by that you can drown the group in the depths of the malicious water.

24. S. (52:16) It's not clear, so what does he do to drill a hole?

R. To drill a hole meaning that we have in the Ten some envelope that closes us, we guard the boundaries of the Ten but then all of a sudden someone violates this connection.

S. How is this manifested, this drilling?

R. That there is a hole and water can enter the boat and drown it.

S. Yes, but what did they do to actually cause this hole? What was the action that he did that caused the hole?

R. He hurt the connection between the friends.

S. How did it harm it by thinking of itself, by what?

R. Not too there are many kinds and levels of this damage.

S. In the Ten we always learn that there are somewhere we are in ascents and some in descents, those who keep the Torah so even if I drill a hole we are in one ten, whereas the balance there so should be some sort of wholeness of the balance here?

R. The others should guard each and everyone and stop them from drilling a hole, you see that one person tells him, stop what you are doing and he doesn't want to listen.

S. Why are we drowning? How can it be that everyone will drown if there are others that are alert and can save us, who can fix the situation by praying

R. How?

S. By enlisting everyone and uniting everyone, there is a way?

R. I don't know. Here it looks like this is the action that can drown the boat, the group.

S. What's on the other side when I see someone and I think he is drilling a hole? What is the action that I need to do? Should I tell him, “look you are drilling?”

R. As we see when he tells him, “fool, what are you doing?  Both of us will drown.”

S. It doesn't really change anything, right, it doesn't work if I just tell him will it have some effect, will it influence him?

R. Well if not, you attack him, what can you do? In the moment you are in the water, drowning or you can keep staying alive.

25. S. (55:01) What is the difference between a person being in a descent or drilling a hole?

R. In a fall he doesn't hinder others, he doesn't talk badly about the group, about the Creator, he can't for now but he knows that in a bit he will awaken and recover and can receive strength from above and be able to connect to others and keep going. Okay.

26. S. (55:50) We learn that all of the flaws are in me. If I see a friend drilling a hole, who should I correct, myself or the friend?

R. The friend, don't philosophize with this. I see in your eyes that the friend doesn't carry out the law of Arvut and therefore the boat is endangered and we might drown and therefore I have to behave this way without philosophies.

27. S. (56:33) How do we avoid becoming world reformers? We need to see, we think that we have to correct everyone, correct everything?

R. No, I have to set an example, each of us needs to give an example to everyone else, how to be in Arvut.

28. S. (56:59) What does it mean that the boat is drowning?

R. The ego, that they don't have a mutual connection, that they can't correct the walls of the boat to hold them and then the boat drowns.

29. S. (57:37) To drill a hole is when a friend is harmful or is simply not participating, not bestowing, he could bestow 100% or is only doing 80%, is that also damaging?

R. No, he is incapable but harmful is harmful.

S. In practice actually?

R. In practice showing himself against the purpose of the group.

S. If he's not participating some way it is not considered that he's harming?

R. If he's not participating but just in a passive way he may not be harmful. You typically don't complain to such a person but give him time.

S. Baal HaSulam writes in ‘The Peace’ article if someone is not bestowing he's already harmful?

R. Yes, but it is not a damage where something really happens. We need to wait, we need to correct, we are all in those states, these states are passing. Okay, bit by bit we will solve everything  this is our life. If we take in these things correctly we'll succeed in being alive in being born and then being alive.

30. S. (59:31) The one who drills a hole in the boat, he is in the boat already, how can I determine who it is?

R. You have to be connected with the friends. You study with them, speak to them, do something with them, perhaps disseminate what you study with them and then you understand where they are in your attitude towards the path. You have to get closer to them then you will see what keeps them alive.

S. What is the difference in the state where the Ten goes to the stormy sea in the boat in a state where we have not entered yet that entered the boat?

R. I cannot detail each and every state for you. I recommend that you do it in practice and discuss it in practice and then you will see the difference in each and every step.

31. S. (01:01:15) If all the friends in the Ten awaken, do they awaken to Arvut at the same time and also how can we help them reach that?

R. Not all the friends awakened to the Arvut at the same time and at the same pace and direction. No, we have to accept these states as the total of what comes to us and know that taking care of all the states is essentially the steps of our growth for us. Our development, all of our development is in how we overcome these disturbances

32. S. (01:02:33) What does it mean that the whole world is included in our Arvut?

R. Ultimately all people of the world, all of the billions of people that exist in the world, are all entirely connected to a single system. They all must achieve a single desire, intention. a single creator to be incorporated with them as one man with one heart. Therefore we have to perform this action first, that is why we are called the chosen people. meeting the first group that begins to do it. Before us they were not such groups of Rabbi Shimon, 2000 years ago. but essentially such amounts of people never where and that is why we need to do this as quickly as possible and as correctly as possible the connection between us connection between us

S. That means actually that all the people are all in one boat, correct?

R. Yes, all people as it is written in Noah's Ark.

S. That means that if we want to be an example in this for all the people it means that there are many people drilling a hole in the boat so how can you be an example so that people will stop drilling? What is that? All the people are in one boat.

R. You need to take care of your Ten only that is it. Everything is organized In such a way that if you take care of what is part of, then this will determine the general state.

S. What is the example of not drilling?

R. Not to drill a hole.meaning that we are connecting in our small private Ten and in that we want to set an example to the rest of the Tens and  and also outside of the

S. What do you do when you see that someone is drilling and you can only be an example.

R. I see the friend that is with me in the Ten  and if he is drilling a hole then I begin to prepare the Ten for an explanation to him, that is not the way to behave, that is it and usually that is enough.

33. S. (01:06:49) Is it only the tool to achieve the adhesion with the Creator?

R. It is a means, the Arvut is the connection between us in adhesion between us but out of that we achieve adhesion with the Creator.

34. S. (01:07:34) Can you clarify what it means that we were chosen to be the chosen people? What does it mean for us to be a Segula, the chosen people of a remedy?

R. That we, according to the souls we are in the closest form towards correction. We are refined souls.

R. Why did the Creator choose us? What does He see in us? What is the special thing that he sees?

R. That is why he chose us, that you have the totality of the shattered souls. He takes only the top layer that is closer to the correction and begins from it like any correction from light to heavy.

35. S. (01:08:46) We learned that everyday in which we do not build the temple as though we have ruined it, so this is how I should relate to the Arvut also? That everyday that I find myself not keeping everything that I should keep. I realize that right now I am destroying it. That I take it upon myself that I'm not corrected and I agree that I am wrong and I try not to justify myself right? Here this approach helps us advance if every day I feel that I have to move forward because I am in a bad state.

R. Of course

S. I can demand this for myself but I can't demand such a thing for my friends?

R. In correcting yourself in your Ten, you also have to correct the ten, by that you correct all of the general Kli.

S. I am trying to understand, on the one hand each one toward himself it can contribute that to him he has such an approach that everyday he he's not attain the Creator 100% and that it is bad. How can we build such an attitude in the Ten that will keep this feeling? It is seemingly impossible. I also myself fall I cannot demand from the friends always to be in that state

R. So one shall help his friend.

S. I can't even know how to help here? Even a little bit today helps us advance, because we are always in states of regression or falling into self justification.

R. For example, a personal example must be, Day by day you come to the group and you awaken them somewhat, add and awaken them.

S. That is enough right?

R. As much as you can.

S. Whatever I'm capable of, I will try to do it. The question is, is it enough of the upper force in terms of purpose of creation? Is it enough that each one of us will come and give an example without pressuring the friends as it says in the article as it says in the article "you fool" it demands from it.

R. No, here we are talking about both of them drowning in the sea.

S. But also if you realize the upper law is Arvut and if the upper force that if we do not keep, it we will be like drowning, we're drowning, right now?

R. Correct, if such an incident happens then it's correct.

36. S. (01:11:59) It says in this example that the friends are already in the boat and we are coming to the Ten and we want to build such relations, each one of us comes as we are drilling the hole. How does the Creator bring a person to such a state? Already I am drilling and if I stop drilling and then we have a covenant and then again I'm drilling.

R. You have to check yourself where you are with respect to the group. Are you pushing them forward towards corrections, meaning connections or you are passive or on the contrary you cause them to disintegrate. So first you have to expect yourself.

S. If the Creator chose us as the most refined layer that can come to be corrected first then can we drill less than others or not drill at all?

R. We do not know that. We have to participate in connection with all of our strength to not run the integrity of the boat.

S. If I myself realize that I'm not putting in enough, does that mean that I'm drilling?

R. Yes you are drilling all the time. Okay in short, I have enough work here. I'm sorry.

37. S. (01:14:15) On the path we say do anything but leave, what is the dividing line between doing anything but leave and the drilling of the hole in the boat?

R. Do you want to do harm and do you care about that or not? You have to be certain that if you do not do it for the good of the boat, that at least you do not harm.

S. Yes, but if a friend is of a descent or other friends can see that the friend is like that and that it is weakening the group what then?

R. It may be that his descent is not to weaken the group. He just has this situation and we all need to help him.  He does not do it in order to sink the boat, he does not drill a hole more over when we turn to him and we say to him stop doing that, it's not the way it's done.

38. S. (01:15:54) Can we view a lesson like a boat and that the question and the answer during  the lesson is the expression of an integrated single system? When we do not participate in the lesson to advance the friends by not participating in the lesson, are we drilling a hole by not participating?

R. Yes yes.

39. S. (01:16:46) If all states are inside us and we reach 'None Else Beside Him' so how should we relate to the state of drilling a hole in the boat?

R. Just like Baal HaSulam writes, we cannot stand someone doing these things that's some friends, their actions and the way they talk they really break the walls of the boat.

S. But if everything comes from 'None Else Beside Him'?

R. There is no such thing.

S. But we always learn that everything comes from 'None Else Beside Him'.

R. So?

S. So also drilling a hole in the boat, everything comes from Him,. There is nothing that does not come from HIm. That is not under his control, why should he allow that or even do it?

R. This you can write to Baal HaSulam. Why did he write this example? He tells us so. This is how we see it in our world. We want to connect to our friends, we want to connect to our friends and we see that they are turning their back on us not wanting to connect and we do not see that as the right form of connection at all.

S. What should we do with that? Why does the Creator give that to us?

R. I did not get it

S. Why does the Creator bring us such a state?

R. Ask the Creator, it's probably for our own advancement and we do not yet see it.

40. S (01:18:39) You were talking previously about the overcoming of disturbances, is that expressed in like let's say after a discussion in the ten, we reach such a connection in gratitude for the disturbance or should we also reach an agreement on practical decisions in the ten?

R. Yes.

41. S (01:19:15) Can we say that a nation means people who have a point in the heart and if so do they have an ability to correct their ego even if they are not together physically?

R.Yes, it does not matter that they are not physically together, yes. The main thing is for them to want our desire to act beyond distances.

42. S. (01:20:02) Are we responsible in any way for the friends drilling the hole in the boat. Is there something that we can do to not let this happen?

R. Only if we help each other if each one helps his friend then we can turn to the Creator then every bad state we can invert it to good. Everything is in our hands.

43. S. (01: 20:49) Is the Arvut a miracle?

R. Arvut is not a miracle, Arvut is when we get it as a result of our efforts.

S. When they were as one man and one heart where they in the Arvut or a love of others

R. This we will learn soon.

44. S. (01:21:24) When we are doing internal work, how can I know if the friend is drilling a hole in the boat right now?

R. Yes?

S. Since we are in inner work, I cannot see in inner work if a friend is drilling or not?

R. Don't you see your friends? Are you not connected to them? Can't you have a scrutiny, a criticism over what they are doing? Their participation in the ten?

S. Yes but exactly about that. We asked ourselves in the ten if there's a friend that never comes to the morning lesson, so is he in the boat with us or not?

R. If he is not in the lesson, maybe he joins you at other times, or he learns at other times and does not have a possibility to learn at the same time with us. This is something that I can't but you are grown ups. You understand, you feel it, you are not like little children, or examine it. Check it, being in the lesson every day is the first thing it is essential for each one in the group to be.

45. S. (01:23:29) People that are passive in the ten do they drill a hole in the boat or not?

R. Not yet.

46. S. (01:23:50) I heard you say earlier that each one has to correct himself, the ten and by that we correct the general vessel. What does it mean to correct the ten?

R. A Ten is the main vessel that we have, when each one has to try to establish it in the most stable and strong way as one man with one heart.

S. What is the difference between correcting myself and correcting the ten?

R. That I connect with all of my Ten and our goal is clear and all day long we all we think about is the goal and we hold on to each other in order not to turn ourselves into any other shape that is it to hold the shape.

S. How by that about that we correct the whole vessel afterwards?

R. When we have a strong ten then we can already take part in the general vessel and to strengthen it.

47. S 01:25:25) A question about the laws of the Arvut. What are they and does every Ten determine the laws that make up the Arvut?

R. Yes, Arvut means that each one cares about the whole Ten and everyone thinks only about this general form that gets stronger each and every moment and this is how we can not be drowned in the sea and reach the shore.

S. How can we determine who is concerned and who isn't concerned? Because you told the friend earlier that if I see that a friend is drilling, it is not philosophy, I have to correct the friend. So how can I approach a friend and tell them you're not concerned?

R. No, you have to come to her in a more subtle way in order not to hurt her but rather that you care in order to reach the goal of life and this is why when you come to your friend you have to know how to turn to her so that she will not be offended and so that she will change her behavior whether she is right or not, this is something that you have to examine together. First of all you have to connect together to the goal, then you look at what is wrong in me, what is wrong in the friend, and  how we have to change ourselves so that our ship will reach the exact right place.

48. S. (01:27:44) When more than half of the Ten are in the lesson, are we in some kind of Arvut because for some reason the friends cannot be in the lesson right now?

R. I cannot say, where are the others? Why can't they? Why can't they be here?

S. Someone is sick or working.

R. I've been sick and I also have work. In short, everything depends on you, that's the Arvut you. When half of the group is here.

49. S. 01:29:05) In the very extreme state if a Ten is indifferent so could I drill a small hole in the boat so that we can advance and they will wake up?

R. That is exactly your character, we can see by your question?

S. I'm asking seriously, is that possible?

R. No. Such things are done by the Creator. He does such exercises in order to awaken us and to push us forward. He knows what is going on and what will be the result of it. That is why we are not allowed to do it and he is allowed to do it and not a wise guy like you

Item #20 (01:30:32) “But the end of the correction of the world would only be by bringing all the people..”

50. S. (01:33:35) What action is actually causing the development of the whole world? Our action causes that?

R. Whatever the Creator brings for correction. What depends on us is only dissemination. Dissemination as broad as possible and that we try to reach each and every one.

S. Our work in theTen, every action we do, every effort we do to connect, that brings the development of all the people of the world?

R. Yes, because we are acting towards the center of reality and from there this matter develops in all the different directions.

51. S. (01:34:32) Is there room in dissemination for guiding for maintaining the Arvut? Does that keep the Arvut?

R. Well basically yes, when we engage in dissemination and connection between us it is like guarding, when we hold the Arvut more.

52. S. (01:35:01) Can I measure the Arvut in the Ten only to the extended  that I exert in the action of Arvut?

R. Yes, yes

53. S, (01:35:11) Baal HaSulam tells us to be mutual guarantors of each other and not to love one another, is this something that we do before we accept love?

R. Yes of course without Arvut we cannot reach love. Love is the highest degree.

54. S. (01:35:09) He writes here that you have to measure in the scale, on the one side we have the will to receive thats on one hand and on the other we have the will to bestow, only goodness and I need to determine to the scale of merit by that shift to the scale of merit. What is he describing here?

R. As much as I understand, he's measuring all those sesame seeds or whoever is there on my plate and he weighs it until he finishes all of his examinations.

S. I understand that this is related to the Arvut. How does that contribute to the Arvut? What do I need to do to reach the Arvut according to the sentences?

R. You have to try to reach in Arvut through your Ten to all the different Tens that are ready for it. and later when connecting to all theTens, you have to connect with broader circles.

55. S. (01:37:35) Determining the scale of merit is that in quantity or quality?

R. Sometimes it sounds this way, sometimes it sounds that way. I think that it is in quality and the Creator adds the quantity to it.

S. First our effort time etc, we invest in the Ten and in the world Kli? and the rest of the time we spend in dissemination?

R. Yes.

S. The effort that we focus on should be in connection?

R. Yes, it seems to be this way. We could say that but we do not see yet the opportunities will be in the future.

56. S. (01:38:41) What is the reason that hatred is the result of love and did that the mind connect the two in faith above reason until the end of correction in order to give contentment to the Creator?

R. That we will use all the preparations that our Creator has done in order to bring ourselves to the most the biggest connection.

S. What is the reason that the true Kabbalists include in him all the previous Kabbalists and from himself love and bestowal in order to give contentment to his maker and not at all for his own benefit?

R. That is something that I do not know. It is not for me.

57. S. (01:40:39) All the years that our ten has been together most of the friends are late to the lesson on a regular basis.

R. That is not for now.

S. I'm asking you about drilling a hole in the boat?

R. You can say that about everything but that besides you a nice desire you invent for us for it to be corrected that is it. Just to evoke the problems without a prescription to correct him. I don't like hearing that.

S. Isn't that the beginning of the correction?

R. I do not know if that's the beginning or the end but I know that I have 50 diseases but I don't feel them. They are there taking their time. What can I do?  Whatever the mind does not do, time will. We will live this way as much as we can, we will correct and as much as we can't the Creator will awaken us when the time is right.

S. When do we have to start to focus on those diseases if it's painful?

R. Yes, when we see it's in our hands.
