Part 3:
Morning Lesson October 17, 2021, Transcription
Baal HaSulam, Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah, #69
Item 69 “Now that you know about the second restriction that….”
1.R. (02:30) Is that clear? I don’t see any questions, let’s keep going.
Reader continues: Item 70 “In the previous Partzufim, the screen….” (twice)
2. S. (05:33) Partzuf SAG is called what happens until Tabur and also is Nekudot all one Partzuf?
R. SAG includes Taamim, Nekudot, Tagin and Otiot and part of the SAG which is called Nekudot not the Taamim but the Nekudot descended below the Tabur of AK, mingled with NHY of AK and received an impression from the desire of phase 4, restricted itself and divided into two. From the general Tabur until the Parsa and from the Parsa to Sium, the ending, this is what we are learning about. This division is called the second restriction of Nekudot of SAG.
S. It’s all one Partzuf despite the many details in the Nekudot of SAG?
R. What does that have to do with anything, many details or not? Do you know how many details we have in Galgata and all of the Partzufim, we just learn bits. There are endless details in each one because of the incorporation with all of them.
3. S. (07:01) What makes the second restriction different from the first one? Isn't a restriction just a restriction, isn’t it just good all the way?
R. It is not like a special restriction, it is like an extension on the first restriction. That you weren't allowed to receive in order to receive and that is why in the same parts of the vessels, the parts of the Partzuf that has a will to receive, there's no screen upon it so there that same restriction dwells. Because then there was restriction on Malchut, on the will to receive, now the restriction is on the bestowing of Malchut, on the rest of the Sefirot above Malchut. This is from the half of Bina and below because from there and below start developing the vessels of reception, even though they still don't actually belong to reception. It is like Bina that has the will to receive but it is essential in her to take care of the lower ones, for herself she doesn't want it. This is why even though it is the second restriction and she cannot receive there, it is prohibited not because of herself, Bina, but because you still can't use the vessels of reception, because by that she can cause death of the lower ones. This is why from the middle of Bina and downward there is a restriction, and obviously the second restriction is an extension to the first restriction, only in different conditions, areas and qualities, but it is the same Malchut that is restricted that ascends and limits the vessels, the new vessels that weren't restricted before because the state changes.
4. S. (09:34) Is SAG not Partzuf of Bina that transfers the light of Hassadim and can also transfer light of Hochma? Why is it restricted?
R. You don't have an answer for that? What vessels is Bina incorporated out of? It is also incorporated from the vessels of reception because she wants to supply the lower ones with the light of Hochma that they need and not for herself. So those parts in Bina that take from above from Keter and Hochma and pass it on below to ZA and Malchut, those vessels which are ZON of Bina, enter the restriction because you can't supply lights below. This is why Bina herself is not restricted, she restricts her vessels that take care of the desire to receive in the lower ones. Let’s say you have a woman and she has milk, but the doctor checks the baby and says that he cannot take the milk today and tomorrow, that something is wrong there. And even though she feels sorry she restricts herself.
S. She restricts herself because she can’t...
R. Not because she can't give but because they can't receive, it will cause them harm. It’s exactly like the example I gave.
5. S. (11:52) What is the difference between Nekudot of SAG and the world Nekudim, they're both located in the same position below Tabur?
R. Below Tabur there are many vessels, there are the worlds of ABYA, there is the world of the Klipot. Below Tabur is a lot, meaning it’s all Nekudot of SAG that tried to fill NHY of Galgata and were not successful in this. And that is why they were shattered, and from them the worlds of ABYA are built and the world of the Klipot, and many things.
6. S. (12:54) Below Parsa is it phase 2 and 4 or phase 4 and 4?
R. Below the Parsa Is the 4th phase.
S. But it is Partzuf Bina.
R. So what?
S. Isn't that Phase 2 of 4?
R. Every Partzuf has its own degree of coarseness. It is not the same coarseness that’s in Galgata of Phase 4, it is the will to receive that is in Bina that she needs in order to bestow to the lower ones.
S. Is that Phase 2 in 4 below the Partzuf?
R. The second phase in phase four is not the will to receive, it is the will to receive that works in order to bestow.
S. So that is above Parsa, the 2 and 4?
R. 2 and 4 are above the Parsa, yes.
7. S. (14:14) We said before Tabur there is NHY of AK and here it talks about Zon of AK which is a little different
R. I don't know why but I'm hearing you all very weak today. I think the problem is with our guys in the sound or maybe, you are speaking softly in a secret – say it again.
S. We said below the navel, there is NHY of AK and here it talks to Zon of AK so which is below
R. In general it's the same thing: NHY of AK which are the vessels of reception, and here we are speaking about ZON of AK which is also the vessels have reception. We are not going to start seeing or making the differences between them – the meeting is vessels of reception to
8. S. (15:31) What is the essence of the refinement of the Masach of SAG of AK for Nekudim?
R. Wait, I don't want to hear your second question, I need to concentrate on the first question.
S. In the refinement of the screen SAG of AK for Nekudim, what is the essence of the operation?
R. In order to still build the Partzuf that, in them, you can receive in order to bestow or bestow in order to bestow at least, so the previous Partzuf of Nekudim, Nekudot of SAG, goes through all kinds of actions and it mingles with NHY of AK, it restricts itself. It rises Reshimot to Rosh of SAG and from Rosh of SAG, now start coming out on these Zivugim where he raises the Reshimot – the records, there – its new lights. These new lights start expanding below the Tabur and entering into all the vessels that are below the Tabur. So, SAG that now performs the coupling on those new records, these records are 2/1 which is restricted and on that we get the world Nekudim, that’s how it’s called, it’s such a Partzuf called the world of Nekudim in Katnut, smallness. Afterwards from the Nekudot of SAG being below the Tabur of AK and mingled with NHY of Galgata, they got impressions from NHY of Galgata on the records 4/3 that is in NHY of Galgata.
Now in the Rosh of SAG, they demand another coupling on those records on 4/3, second restriction and also on the actual 4/3; and, then the Rosh of SAG performs a coupling on 4/3, annuls the second restriction and starts bringing lights down below Tabur – the lights on the records of 4/3. And these lights, when they reached Parsa, they break through the Parsa and enter even deeper below and then in those places the shattering of the vessels took place, meaning receiving the lights in order to receive. That is how we just state that for the first time in the cascading from above downward, the vessels relinquished the prohibition and received in order to receive. All they wanted to receive in order to receive but they couldn't because instantly when the light comes and touches those vessels with the desire in order to receive so the light departs because the first restriction was not annulled and the vessels got the impressions from the great light that was supposed to feel them, if there was not that prohibition of receiving the light in order to receive and the vessels broke, meaning that they lost their screen and they fell from being used until the Sium. That we’ll learn.
S. He said the records are made of 4/3, why are there are always two kinds, 4 and 3?
R. No, first of all, the records only come with the records of coarseness and clothing but the two records that were here on 2/1, the Katnut, smallness of the world of Nekudim that came out of the Rosh of SAG and expanded from Tabur until the Parsa, and the second coupling of Rosh of SAG happens on the records 4/3 NHY of AK and upon that the lights came and expanded also from above Tabur to Parsa and passed through Parsa and caused the shattering of the vessels that were below the Parsa.
9. S. (21:14) After the second restriction, the ZON of AK continued to feel the suffering of Bina that can’t bestow upon them?
R. That is not now we will speak later on.
10. S. (21:37) Can you please explain the fundamental difference between the second restriction and first restriction?
R. The second restriction says that part of the vessels that have a desire to receive that you can't feel with the light of Hochma because they will want to feel it in order to receive – meaning the vessels themselves, for now, are in holiness but if the light of Hochma comes to them, they don't have an ability to sustain themselves above the restriction. But they will take these lights and fill themselves with it even though these lights brought them to death, to shattering. That is why the second restriction is annulled and then not annulled, it is annulled in a Parsa that ascends upward and then goes back down. But the first restriction is a prohibition – it’s like a technical – that from Malchut of Ein Sof it includes everything in her: she decides all of the Partzufim, everything that comes out of me will only perform actions to bestow. It is not that a prohibition, the second restriction, there is no flaw there. The second restriction just separates between the vessels that we are using to bestow and the vessels that cannot yet receive in order to bestow. This Parsa actually explains to us that up to here you could receive in order to bestow the upper light, to give contentment to the Creator, and below Parsa it is not possible. This is why below Parsa, the worlds of Beria, Yetzira, Assiya are revealed and what will be in them is only to rise up above Parsa to the world of Atzilut, all kinds of parts and desires, and parts of desires, and add them above the Parsa to assemble them and fill them. That is everything that we need to do.
11. S. (24:36) How is it possible that there will be two records of coarseness in a screen?
R. The screen went through those states that’s why it holds inside it many records, not only those two, all the records of the direct light that came down, the reflected light that goes up, all the records of the departure of those lights and the influence of the surrounding light. This is all a result of everything that they went through, there are many records. We learn it in part 4 of TES.
12. S. (26:30) Why are Nekudim defined as the fourth Partzuf not the fifth one?
R. What is a fourth Partzuf? What should it be instead of Nekudim?
S. Nekudot of SAG.
R. That is true but in Nekudot of SAG are incorporated, we never count them because Ta’amim, Nekudot, Tagin, and Otiot are the parts of the Partzuf and that is why the part called Nekudot, we don't count it as existing on its own. Correct question, nice one. It has a place, such a question, but Nekudot of SAG is not Partzuf on its own but it exists because the Ta’amim of SAG started refining and they gave birth to Partzuf Nekudot.
13. S. (27:39) What is the meaning of two kinds of Records that the screen consists of?
R. Because one comes as a result of Partzuf of SAG and the other record comes from Nekudot of SAG, incorporated and got an impression from NHY of Galgata, the Sof of Galgata. That is why we have two kinds of Reshimot: Reshimot 2/1, Reshimot 4/3 – the records of 4/3 receive from Galgata and 2/1 receive, themselves, from SAG. It turns out for the first time that we have Partzuf that now comes out and there are two parts: Malchut and Bina, 2/1 and 4/3. 2/1 belong to Bina and 4/3 to Malchut. And now it will all be in one vessel. Why should it be like that? I will answer you: (Rav’s beings drawing) I will have a Partzuf, we have Tabur and Sium. So, if we have a Partzuf of Nekudot of SAG that got an impression from NHY of Galgata then he is divided into two: a place for Keter, Hochma, Bina, Hesed, Gevura, and Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut. Then with this bestowing, Malchut ascends and divides Tifferet into ⅓ above and ⅔ below and the border of this is called Parsa. We have very interesting things here, on one hand, this Partzuf is Nekudim of SAG, meaning the Partzuf that came out on 2/1, the records, and on the other hand, it received NHY of AK, the records of 4/3, we will see you later on. This means that we have a lot of Reshimot and then it turns out that from all of these Reshimot that ascends Rosh of SAG, they ascend and we have in the beginning a Zivug of Bina of Rosh of SAG, that’s called . . .. Enayim of Rosh of SAG. Then we get Katnut of the world of Nekudim. The next Partzuf is called ‘a world’, even though it's a very small Partzuf where the vessels expand until the Parsa, the vessels of Katnut, called Galgata Einayim and the Zivug then takes place on the Gadlut in the Peh on all the Sefirot, on the Reshimot of 4/3. So here (referencing drawing) it comes out on 2/1 and here it comes out on 4/3.
Then another light of greatness comes and goes through all of the Partzuf Going through the Parsa and when it goes through Parsa, in this place there is a shattering because the great light of 4/3 enters Below in the vessels of reception and they received it in order to receive because they don't have a screen to receive it in order to bestow. We will learn later why it happened in such a way, what mistake caused it and how to organize that mistake and what the result of that mistake is. But these shattering took place and the entire Partzuf above GE and also below that there was AHP, all of these vessels shattered and they all fell, they mixed and fell and then we have vessels of Bina and Malchut because they are the vessels of Bina and these are the vessels of Malchut. They all mix between them and fell. Then it turns out that these desires hat were all for reception that had to be disconnected from the desires to bestow, these are the desires to receive and these are the desires to bestow that they were disconnected from one another through Parsa but there was a clear border between them and they all intermingled and insert vessel and each part they also have vessels of Bina and Malchut and if we now will shine on them with the upper light, so we will Start scrutinizing out of these vessels what belongs to the correction and what belongs to the Klipa, minus and plus and this work is the work that destined for humans. those that are in the shattering is us, we need to work in this and to the extent that we do this work the vessels of Bina will ascend up word and Malchut will go down and we will finish all of these vessels and it will be the final scrutiny and the upper light will come, the very special light and we will bestow upon all the vessels Partzufim on everything. then there will be the end of correction. Meaning until we don't have the mixture between the light and there is no shattering of the vessels there is still not an area that man can be in but only after all of these states then we will learn where man is, where his place is and what he needs to do. This is why I wrote that this is us, this is where we need to be. There is still a lot to talk about and there are things that are more and more close to us, what we learned until now doesn't really belong to us, it is about a system that we can't own directly. Here the system starts and then we can bestow on it, there will be a shattering and when we connect the shattering there will be the end of correction. We then belong and have to take place in this process of correction.
14. S. (40:15) The vessels lost the screen and broke. What happens to the screen or to the law of the first restriction?
R. Of course the first restriction also shatters. That means that you're not allowed to receive in order to receive. We can't receive in order to bestow if you don't have a screen for it, and now these vessels we saw, they don't even have a screen in order to bestow. This is why there is no way to receive anything. It was just all shattered above and below the Parsa. Afterwards we will have to learn how the system is prepared and we start to correct the vessels from the shattering. I just want to say one thing, the benefit from the shattering is that there is an incorporation between the vessels of bestowal and vessels of reception and then we can correct each and every vessel, no matter which one. We can fix it and eventually it will have an intention to bestow. So be healthy and read the articles that we learned in the first part again today. All the best to the men and women and we will advance onward.
