Part 2:

Yom Kippur - The Day of Atonement - Selected Excerpts from the sources. #9

Reading (00:15) #9 “They must believe that there is a leader in the world, and that He also watches over with a guidance of the Good who does good….” Twice

1. S. (02:08) Why does a person need to feel that he is failing?

R. Because he was born in this failure.

S. Why does the person need to feel that?

R. Whoever is in it, is in it, the person is innocent in the will to receive in order to receive. The fact that there's a reason for it, he has the Creator, so what? The Creator also says, “I created the evil inclination.”

S. A person needs to feel that I need to correct myself inside that all?

R. No, no. I didn't do anything bad, meaning as long as I try to come out of my will to receive in order to receive so there's nothing else but once I try to come out of the will to receive in order to receive and what I can, I can, according to that I'm considered righteous. That's why if a person lives out in the street does whatever he does from his natural will to receive, he can say about it that he's okay or not okay but after he finds out that he is in in order to receive or in order to bestow, that he himself determines that in order to receive is the evil and he calls himself a wicked.

S. A person who studies here and chooses to do an action that is contrary to bestowal, what is the next thing he needs to do after he himself identifies that he's lazy, that he doesn't want to bestow, he doesn't want to do what he's supposed to do?

R. I don't know, he needs to check if he can come out of this or not. If he tries, so let him try. If he can’t come out, if he can’t, let him pray to the Creator and so on. The main thing is not to sit lazy.

2. S. (04:39) What is the iniquity of Adam HaRishon?

R. That the Creator, He put an obstacle there, He created the evil inclination.

S. All the studies that we learn, all the shattering, if somebody is not in the pursuit of trying to do in order to bestow he didn't try in order to receive and somehow the transgression is always connected to … to receive in order to receive, why is that?

R. It doesn't matter, we won't get into this, it’s better to go into the state that we are in right now and how can we come out of it, what was, it was.

3. S. (05:36) The fact that there is a governance in this world that’s clear, how do you come to the vessel that He is the Good that does good? How do you come to that state?

R. They tell us only through connection between us, that's what we are told and that's what we have learned, what is the study of Kabbalah for? In order to know how to come out from the state that the Creator created.

S. All these unpleasant states I need to try to be in connection and feel what is Good to do good?

R. Yes.

4. S. (06:26) [No translation]

R. Then we fall into self-love, yes.

S. Who picks us up?

R. Also the Creator does, only after a request.

S. What does it mean, this whole story?

R. We go through all kinds of states, we have to discern between states, those that are closer or further away from the Creator. She is between these states.

5. S. (07:04) Yesterday I was in the kitchen and I saw friends, all of them doing something for the society. And what I have a little over there is that when we work, we're trying to resemble bestowal, we are always wrapped in physical action, washing dishes, doing this, taking care of his friend, what we do at some point so that I'm not connected to the physical world we are in.

R. It could be that what doesn't matter? You can do this and that, that it should be, even this is an intention.

S. I have no complaints about these. I understand that if this is how it needs to be done and that’s it. We always need to wrap our intentions in order to bestow with some form of action that is in the corporeal world, is it like that?

R. Part of the path needs to be like that, yes.

6. S. (08:23) Why do we keep saying that it is the Creator that is tricking us? Where really is it help against? I don't understand.

R. The Creator is tricking us on purpose; He's putting an obstacle in order to show us that with all these faults we are distant from Him, moving away and we'll get a decision to come out of this and rise to Him.

S. But help against, this is not tricking?

R. Correct, that's the way. When I come to some kind of profession or I go to study something, so first I learn from the mistakes, from the problems and afterwards by understanding what the right way to do it is and how to fix it then I know what to do or how to do the right actions. That's how it works everywhere and the Creator did it on us that He created us, He created the evil inclination so we can learn upon that evil inclination how to be in the good inclination and then all of the correction of creation will be upon us.

7. S. (10:10) The meaning is that the person… whether he's getting blows…?

R. The meaning is that a person starts finding the difference, whether he is getting blows because he is in the evil inclination and then according to that he understands that he needs to come close to the good inclination; the meaning of this and that is the true meaning.

S. But a person cannot be thankful when that happens, when he's getting blows?

R. That we have to scrutinize, it could be, yes.

S. Do you have to be thankful?

R. We will scrutinize it.

8. S. (11:09) We are praying for your health and one of the answers you said to the friends is that we are lazy or idle. Is this something we receive from the Creator?

R. We have nothing of our own. Everything, including all the evil, we get from the Creator. We just need to scrutinize, to understand what we agree with and what we don't and to ask the Creator to correct it.

S. I ask for the Creator to give me the first to overcome it or to correct it?

R. [No translation]

9. S. (12:23) How can I take from every friend in the ten, put them on my shoulder today and to carry him?

R. It’s very important.

S. It feels so but not because of me but because so I will be able to help the friends?

R. You have to make an effort to exert for it, so do it and succeed.

10. S. (13:07) In excerpt number nine, he says that we must believe that there's a leader in the world and that He also watches over with the guidance of the Good that does good, when the person doesn't have such fate he causes all the sins he commits. I'm asking you: the heading is Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement, so what is The Day of Atonement for and can I even atone for the sins he’s talking about here?

R. Of course, yes.

S. How do we do that, it's The Day of Atonement?

R. We ask, we ask.

S. What is, we ask?

R. We ask for corrections.

S. On The Day of Atonement itself?

R. Yes.

S. You said that I can make any day into a Day of Atonement, that it’s not a certain date, can you expand on that, what does that mean, can I decide The Day of Atonement, the day that I want?

R. You can.

S. Why is it not something in the calendar?

R. No.

S. So therefore, can every day be The Day of Atonement for me?

R. Yes.

11. S. (14:21) How can you attain the Creator lightly, without too much effort?

R. That's a good question. How without an effort can we reach the Creator? That's a good question: I don't know the answer. I do not know the answer.

Reading (15:03) #10 “When a person is in self-love, the Tzimtzum [restriction] and concealment are on him, and the upper Light cannot shine for him…”

12. S. (17:58) I didn't understand how to come to Godliness without the need for the collective, with the force of the collective?

R. It’s written that a person will have the feeling of divinity personally, that it won't need the collective that he’ll have faith; instead of person must repent to the extent that is unto the Lord, your God, that is he should feel that the Lord is your God, personally and the flaw of the Tree of Knowledge will be corrected.

S. How is this that he won't need the collective, the whole of Israel?

R. I can’t explain it. But if he reaches it he does.

S. What is “Unto the Lord, your God?”

R. “Unto the Lord, your God,” that he attains the Creator.

S. Earlier you said that there's no such thing without going through the other which is the whole of Israel?

R. The question is as much as the others are incorporated in the others and the others in Him, we’ll scrutinize these things. The main thing is still to yearn ahead and then a person understands where he is because we’re just speaking about the state theoretically what we’re reading about.

Reading (19:46) #11 “A person causing through his sin, the descent of Kedusha into the Klipa.”

Reading (21:52) #12 “Man’s sin is that he did not ask the Creator for help. Had he asked for help, he would certainly get help from the Creator…”
