Why Do So Many People Believe in Conspiracy Theories?

Conspiracy theories are rampant. 15 percent of Americans claim that the associated moon landing were hoaxes staged by NASA. Certain theories attribute the planning and execution of the September 11 Twin Tower attacks against the United States to elements inside the U.S. government, and we now have the coronavirus as a conspiracy for power and control over countries. We find that a lot of people believe in theories other than what their governments tell them. Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman shares his thoughts on the topic of such conspiracy theories: “We are living in a world where those that reach the highest positions are among the most deceitful, wheeling and dealing, ardent liars that think only of how to achieve their goals. This is what achievement looks like in an egoistic world in order to achieve the required result, and there are no other considerations left. We no longer know where to place our trust and whom to believe or the extent to which the truth is being manipulated. We will never reach the truth in this manner – only on condition that we all agree and express that we no longer desire to live like this, that enough is enough as we are being lied to and used. We need to try and build something completely independent. An independent person is a real person who works with the ego and builds a correct and beneficial connection by bestowing to all. The Creator is the force of goodness that exists in this world. We need to accept that everything one receives from this world comes from this force of goodness. We have no choice and are required to understand and relate to this force of nature. By this, there will no longer be room for evil conspiracies, and instead we will learn how to cancel them.”
