______________________________

Reader: Hello, this is a lesson on the subject of Work with Faith Above Reason, selected excerpts from the sources starting with Excerpt 13. All of our texts can be found on kabbalahmedia.info or you can click the book icon in the Galaxy platform itself. You can send us questions on kab.tv and selected questions may be aired here live during the lesson.

M. Laitman: (00:56) Each day, I receive a few questions related to our study: What is faith above reason? Why do we have to give up on our ego? Why do we have to give up on our intellect, on our mind, and our emotion? What do we get instead of it and when do we get it? These are nice, good, basic questions, and they stem out of the fact that people are beginning to feel that there is a certain purposeful change that occurs in a person. The person needs to become something else because if we say that we cannot use our mind in the spiritual world and our egoistic emotion, of course we cannot use it, so what else do we have besides our mind and our emotion? How do we build this Kli, vessel, through which we will feel the upper world. We will feel the Creator which is actually the essence of the upper world; we will discover ourselves as existing in that. How will we build a new mind and emotion on this higher level? It’s a question. We see even in this world how different we are from animals, all the more so from plants or the still level.

Each level of development, of evolution, has its own mind, its own form, its own behavior. A certain degree of freedom, of movement of its own the more it's developed, it develops accordingly – it has a mind and emotion and the ability to connect with the environment and here we're entering the new environment, which is forces of bestowal, not forces of reception. The four forms of forces of reception that we discover in our world, actually it's three degrees – the still, vegetative and animate. And through the animate degree we have the transition to the next level, the next stage which are the spiritual, still, vegetative and animate. And the degree of speaking, of Adam – human – in the upper world, this is already the degree where we are in adhesion with the Creator. So, we see that we transition from one world to the next in a way that we have to come out of our emotion, come out of our mind. But it's not that by not having any mind and any emotion we acquire the spiritual world, that is impossible. These are the same vessels that remain; however, it's not His vessels, rather, it's the mind and emotion in the spiritual sense meaning that they are built on the force of bestowal, on the force of Bina. And we don't have the force of Bina, rather, the combination of the will to receive from below and the upper light from above—it builds this form called Bina that exists in the middle between Keter and Malchut. And when we are able to build such a sense which is called faith, the level of Bina, above reason, above our ego, our will to receive. And this is how we build it and build it and build it from all kinds of forms of connection between us.

M. Laitman: (05:00) By this, we will make more exercises, and I would like to ask you about this and you can answer me later, the whole world, after we sort it and arrange it. Because I see that there are people here who belong to this worldwide Bnei Baruch organization—when, besides the morning lesson, can we nevertheless speak about our spiritual state? Once more, maybe even twice a day, it will be very close to the connection of our individual Tens. But, nevertheless, we must do it even though it might be once a day at the expense of the Ten, at the expense of the connection in the Ten where we will be together again, let's say for half an hour, not more. But we will be able to connect more strongly.

I'm saying it because our development requires it; it's not enough that we connect, each one with his few friends. But rather for us to connect together and it's preferable that it will be in a single time and everyone, as many as possible. You should ask, our management will ask you and you will answer when it is convenient for you. And for us to accordingly determine one more time, besides the morning lesson, a connection, physical connection between us meaning the way it is now. We will determine a time which is better for us and what should we read so that we will feel a connection of the hearts above ourselves with the inclination that, Each shall help his friend. The moment that we come out, each one towards the other, there, we discover this degree of faith, bestowal towards the other above reason, above my ego, my self-feeling until I will feel this inclination. I will feel everyone besides me. That I, seemingly, I, do not exist, myself, and the others, besides me, do exist, until I feel in these others, the upper force, the Creator.

This actually, well, let us for today, maybe in the next two days, let us arrange these things. Or have another daily meeting, in the meantime, let's continue. There were many questions that I was asked, such and such, it's worthwhile for us to continue and connect between us more. By that, we will try to be together and through that there will be a stronger flow between everyone and we will feel that we're coming together more because only through us coming together, only in a single Kli can a single force be revealed, the upper force. The work, seemingly, begins from a simple mechanical work, virtual work, however, indeed in truth, these efforts indicate how much we do want to rise above our present mind and emotion and acquire a collective mind and emotion. Then, as it says, I dwell within my own people; the Creator is revealed inside of His people, inside all of those who connect and have a tendency towards Him.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (09:42) There is a time today between six and seven pm where friends give the lesson.

M. Laitman: You can't immediately after the lesson.

Student: No, I mean six to seven pm. When you say you want it to happen through the day, is it actually during the day?

M. Laitman: No, it can be during that time also. I have no opinion right now. It should only be about how convenient it is for most of them, for most of them. If they're already used to it and everyone can pretty much join during this time, let it be so. If it's convenient to do it at noon, fine – if you want to do it later in the evening, okay; whatever you think without taking me into consideration, okay? This is actually better for me if I’m if you don't take me into consideration. What else? Well, I don't see any questions about that so you should check it out. In the meantime, well, we are advancing. I wanted to tell you, thank you very much for your efforts and to the Creator Who is pulling you. I see, in that, a lot of progress, a good progress, so let's continue: Faith Above Reason, please.

Reader: So, Excerpt 13 on the subject of the Work with Faith Above Reason is “What Is the Acronym Elul in the Work?”

Reading:
(11:26) 13. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 42, “What Is the Acronym Elul1 in the Work?”

It is impossible to obtain disclosure before one receives the discernment of Achoraim [posterior], discerned as concealment of the Face,

M. Laitman: Which means that the concealment always precedes the revelation in each and everything, in all the different manners. First, I have to feel concealment, why? Because I lack, I don't understand, I don't know, I have no orientation. I don't know where I am, and I don't even know exactly what I want; I only know that there is some deficiency which is not even clear to me yet. What is this deficiency, what does it do? How does it adapt me to the spiritual degree? But there is something.

So, he says, it is impossible to obtain disclosure, the revelation of the Creator and each upper degree is called the Creator with respect to the lower degree what the person is which is the degree of the created being. And the Creator means, not that it is truly the Creator but, rather, the degree that is building the lower degree in which the revelation of the upper force, the revelation of bestowal, the revelation of connection, is greater than what exists in the lower degree, this is why it is called Creator, BoReh. It is impossible to obtain disclosure or revelation before one receives the discernment of Achoraim, posterior, discerned as concealment of the face. Because, otherwise, there is no deficiency, for one to have a deficiency for the higher degree, for the revelation of the Creator. But a true deficiency, not that I just want it, that's it. Rather, why, and what for, f or what purpose, what will I have, what will others have etc.?

Meaning, that he builds the deficiency that is suitable for the fulfillment of the upper degree. Why are you doing it, what are you doing it for, what do you want to achieve by it, how will you relate to yourself and to others and to the Creator? Here, there are actually three discernments: Me, the collective general Kli – all of the souls which is the Ten or even more – and the upper force, the Creator. How do I relate to them? This is called, Israel, the Torah, or the light. The light that is revealed in the entire Kli, and the Creator, the Source, the Creator. And I need to try to determine this in the form of one: Israel, the light, and the Creator is one. That all of these discernments, these three discernments will be as one. The moment that they become as one, it is considered that I am entering a degree which is above myself.

Reader: So, again.

Reading:
(14:39) 13. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 42, “What Is the Acronym Elul1 in the Work?”

It is impossible to obtain disclosure before one receives the discernment of Achoraim [posterior], discerned as concealment of the Face, and to say that it is as important to him as the disclosure of the Face. It means that one should be as glad as though he has already acquired the disclosure of the Face.

M. Laitman: Which means that it's not important for me if it is revealed in me or it is revealed in others, let's say. It doesn't matter that I – and also the whole of the world, the whole of reality – don't feel it, the Creator, nevertheless, does fill us up, He, nevertheless, does manage us. However, the thing is, is it about my feeling? No, I want to be above that; that is, I now should also take upon myself the condition that, now, too, I'm in adhesion with the Creator. And now, too, all of my tendencies, my discernments, my desires, my thoughts, my intentions are only about scrutinizing how can I ascribe myself to the upper force in all the possibilities that I have? I do not demand to change anything besides my ability to ascribe myself to the upper force. That is, to be in the force of faith, in the force of bestowal, in the force of giving, and how do I do that? With respect to the Creator, it is hidden. Instead of that, I have a Kli, the Ten, humanity, through which I can express myself and I can also check myself. Am I doing things the right way and how much am I rising above my individual calculations?

Reading: (16:41) 13. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 42, “What Is the Acronym Elul1 in the Work?”

However, one cannot persist and appreciate the concealment like the disclosure, except when one works in bestowal.

M. Laitman: That he rises above himself, he wants to be in qualities and forces that are different above himself. This is precisely called, above one's reason.

Reading: (17:14) 13. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 42, “What Is the Acronym Elul1 in the Work?”

At that time, one can say, “I do not care what I feel during the work

M. Laitman: That I try and I discover it doesn't work out, I don't understand it, I don't feel what needs to be. It's not that I want to understand and feel, rather, to understand and feel that I am above my understanding and feeling.

Reading: (17:40) 13. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 42, “What Is the Acronym Elul1 in the Work?”

Because what is important to me is that I want to bestow upon the Creator. If the Creator understands that He will have more contentment if I work in a form of Achoraim, I agree.”

M. Laitman: That's it, there is no more, meaning, I accept each and every moment in my life, in one's existence, that everything comes from the Creator. My goal, each and every moment, is only to ascribe myself to this upper force that is managing everything. So much so that reality will start to change according to the upper force – everything depends on the degree of devotion, dedication. Questions? Read it again in the meantime and they will think whether they have anything to ask about.

Reader: Again, Excerpt 13.

Reading:

However, one cannot persist and appreciate the concealment like the disclosure, except when one works in bestowal. At that time, one can say, “I do not care what I feel during the work because what is important to me is that I want to bestow upon the Creator. If the Creator understands that He will have more contentment if I work in a form of Achoraim, I agree.”

M. Laitman: Okay, let's see what questions we have, maybe it will help us to scrutinize this excerpt better. This is an excerpt from Baal HaSulam, Shamati 42, What is the Acronym ELUL in the Work? ELUL is, in Hebrew, I to My beloved, My beloved to Me.

Question (PT 20): (20:20) Who is the me, the self that knows and understands, feels that he has an ego?

M. Laitman: Everything exists in me, besides me there is nothing, even the whole world—it all exists within me. Besides me, there is nothing, besides me, I can discover that it is the Creator, so much so that I say that only the Creator exists.

Question (Florida): (20:53) What should I consider to be concealment of the face? Like, every day, every day, everything I see, everything I feel, is this concealment of the face?

M. Laitman: In truth, I don't search for concealment and I don't search for revelation; I search how to relate to the world, to everyone, as the Creator. Then, according to the law of equivalence of form, I will feel the true form of reality which is only the Creator. Listen again to what I said and you will see that this aims you, correctly.

Question (PT 19): (22:01) What is that state of being above feeling and reason? Is it about ascribing everything to the Creator, relating to everyone as the Creator, or is there anything more here, more things?

M. Laitman: There is nothing else, however, just try to relate to others – at least as to myself, for the time being – to begin with. Later on, relate to others as though only they exist and I only exist in order to feel them. That is, I annul myself, I cancel myself, and I only want to feel them. Later on, I cancel them, in the sense that there are many, and I just want to see in them a single force, a single mind, a single operation of bestowal, of love. Later on, I want to discover in them this single force that is operating within them so that they do not exist, rather, it's just with respect to me that they demonstrate.

Student: And present it.

M. Laitman: Yes, this is how they present to me the upper force, the Creator and There Is None Else Besides Him, it's through these degrees.

Question (Queens): (23:30) What degree is the Creator? You explained just now and I missed out on it. Can you explain, it contradicts the fact that the Creator is one, unique.

M. Laitman: The Creator is One, Unique, and Unified; There Is None Else Besides Him. How can we speak about so many states, so many degrees? It is only with respect to the person who is attaining. The person who is attaining it gradually, just like we come to know our own world, more and more and more, gradually. This is how it is, also, with respect to the attainment of the Creator. Only He exists, however, all of the Olamot, the worlds, are concealment over Him. All of the degrees are degrees of attainment of Him: How do we attain Him? Therefore, this is how it happens. It's all with respect to the person.

Question (United VG 4): (25:01) Does it mean that a person's response starts with agreement to what's happening?

M. Laitman: No, I do not agree with what is happening – that it is all revealed inside of my vessels of reception. Rather, I want, through whatever is happening, to aim myself. Whether I agree or I do not agree, maybe it sounds like I want to change what is happening—we do not want to change reality or we want to leave it as it is. We want to change our perception, whatever we feel, so that the perception within us will be a true perception in which a single force will be revealed, a single power, a single intention, a single source.

Question (Hebrew 10): (26:11) To continue your words, this is the second time we're going over the subject of faith above reason with such intensity. We usually say that the true reality is revealed through the prism called, the Ten. This is my new reason, right, so how to work with it, how to go above its reason?

M. Laitman: Do not worry, you simply need to do what we're saying right now; then later on, later on, throughout the day talk about it. Think about it, talk with the friends, be in this other meeting that we will establish, one more meeting. Maybe not one meeting, maybe it will be two meetings throughout the day – let's say half an hour and another half an hour. We will see according to whatever the friends are ready for, I'm willing to do it around the clock whenever needed. Because the situation requires it, you'll, later, see that, indeed, the situation is forcing us. We will talk about that, what you said also.

Question (PT 31): (27:34) In the action where the Creator is concealed, I make an effort as though He is revealed. This action contains thought and there are actions by which I convince the Ten that He is revealed, so which is more powerful?

M. Laitman: I'm not even talking about the revelation of the Creator or the concealment of the Creator. I want to discover the Kli for it and the Kli for it is the connection between us. How can I talk about how I would like to see something that is 10 kilometers away from me, how can I do it? I need to think about the binoculars, binoculars, so we're talking about the Kli, the device, and the instrument. The Kli is the connection between us.

Student: Where is the effort?

M. Laitman: Well, the effort is in the connection between us, the connection is in the Kli, to attain the Kli, to achieve the Kli. As much as you can concentrate everyone together, focus them together so that you have the right resolution, the right accuracy of discernment, the right precision in your discernment. That instead of many, many, many people and all kinds of things, where you have this split vision and it's unclear what is happening there—the still, vegetative, and animate. More and more correctly, you will see that it is a single force, a single Source that is revealed. Just like with our own optical devices – you see, this is what we have to do, we need to speak about the Kli. The upper light is in absolute rest so it says. We just need a Kli for it and the Kli, our Kli should resemble according to its qualities, it should resemble the light even though it is the opposite of the light – that is all.

Student: What is the act? Can I act before the Ten as though this is how I see reality now?

M. Laitman: You will need to act opposite the Ten exactly according to the state of the Ten, how can you do good to them, that's it.

Question (PT 32): (30:02) What is this state, the concealment of the face? What is it about?

M. Laitman: The concealment of the face means that a person has a desire, some tendency for the revelation of the face. Accordingly, he needs to know that if he has a desire for the revelation of the face of the Creator – of bestowal, love, giving – that's the revelation of the Panim, of the face. So, a person feels that there is concealment here, a concealment of this force. And it should cause me, give me, a desire to discover the Panim, the face. This is all the Creator's work on the person.

Student: And that's a spiritual state?

M. Laitman: Well, when it's a spiritual state, you have it in potential and you have it in actuality, you see, in the meantime it's along the way. Until there is a true desire which will be to connect Malchut and Bina, so that the quality of bestowal will be higher than the quality of reception – that Malchut will be under the control of Bina.

Question (KabU 1): (31:26) Do I need correction before I can appreciate the Achoraim? Or is the Achoraim a correction?

M. Laitman: I don't know how to answer such questions because you can't measure it before, after, during, what time. We simply have to go along with whatever we're studying. Read these excerpts more and more, try all the time to recite them, and you will see that, from that, progress will come and not from all of these calculations that you're making. Simply delve into the sources.

Question (United VG 1): (32:21) Do all the concealments happen in the mind or in the heart as well?

M. Laitman:  They happen in the mind and also in the heart, in the emotion.

Question (Kiev 1): (32:44) I'm an ordinary egoist, a beast, so I restrict myself and I'm integrating with the friend's ego. How does it happen that the connection of these positive charges brings us to Bina, to something positive? How did this miracle happen?

M. Laitman: It's because the Creator is arranging things and it doesn't matter how much you're thinking about doing this or doing that because He's also behind whatever you're thinking. The most important thing is that you carry out certain inclinations towards the others – even corporeal inclinations only towards connection, organizing things – it influences you spiritually because the Creator controls everything, the corporeal levels and also the spiritual levels. So, in such a way you simply give Him more and more possibility to reveal Himself in all the different states. Bit by bit, you start to feel that there is a new goal here, a new force, a new attitude that you did not feel before. It's like the way that we grow from children, we become grown-ups. Earlier, I wasn't thinking about it, now, I do think about it; earlier I didn't feel it, now I do feel it and I'm not even aware of it. Sometimes, as I grow up, as a child and I become a teenager and then an adult but this is how it is. Naturally, the Creator becomes revealed more and more within us.

Student: When I rise through connection between the friends, we've connected, so we rise, what is this entity that is?

M. Laitman: Through this inclination, you build your soul, this is the place for the revelation of the Creator and the revelation, the disclosure of the spiritual world. So, everything is revealed only in the group, only through connection with others.

Student: So, it's not me or the Creator, it's something else?

M. Laitman: It's not you, and it's not the Creator, rather, it is the Kli, called Adam. This is what the Creator created and He broke it, and now He's assisting us in resurrecting it. That's it, this is called, the Temple, which is Malchut that rises to Bina: Malchut is called the House, Bina is called, Holiness. When Malchut raises itself to Bina and then they both rise to the Keter, this is the third Temple – in Hebrew literally, the House of Sanctity, the middle line. When we bring this Kli to the complete correction and fulfillment, we build a house.

Student: From that state of zero, the zero point, what is the first effort? Is it aimed towards the friends or the Creator?

M. Laitman: The most correct is through the friends to the Creator; you cannot hit the target unless you have me, the group, and you're shooting at the Creator. Just like with any kind of weapon, you must have these three points, two that you control, me. And the group, and the third one, which is far away from you, the one that you want to reach and influence, and that's the Creator. Only in such a way this is the right preparation for the lesson.

Student: But if I don't have that power of love, what should I aim for?

M. Laitman: Your effort, your effort, another day, and another day, you search a bit more, and you search a bit more, it takes a lot of time. Because we begin, truly, from the broken Kelim. We are the last generation; we are the worst from all of those who woke up and need to correct themselves in previous generations. And we already belong to the last generation, we have to establish between us the system of Adam in Galgalta Eynaim, meaning in the vessels that are connected between us. And by that we also connect to the Kabbalists of previous generations, and then all of us together, we can become the correct Kli in order to also draw to us all of the souls or let's say the whole of humanity, to the end of correction. This is our work, both with the upper ones and also with the lower ones.

Question (USA Northeast): (38:10) As we work more and more and above reason and turn more of our desires over to this in slices. Do we come to a point where a desire awakens within us to hand them over at a more rapid pace and in larger increments?

M. Laitman: Yes, you will become more sensitive, you will be more drawn to it, more capable of scrutinizing the directions, the degrees of connection – this is how it is, as usual, as it is in our world, with our world.

Question (Rehovot): (39:09) You said previously something which really moved me! You told a friend to relate to others as you relate to yourself, then to relate to the friends as though only they exist; then to relate to them as though they're one. So, it's very practical, can you expand on this, please?

M. Laitman: You need to be in the inclination from I, as I exist, to I, as I exist in the Ten, and then there is a stage where only the Ten exists. And then there is a stage where the Ten is only one, and to the extent that you are going forward this way, and each time you build your focus on the Ten as one, the whole of reality as one. You come closer and closer to the revelation of the Creator. You establish Him out of you establishing the group, the society.

This is how we build Him because the Creator exists as the completely general force, the surrounding force. The moment that we establish this focus, concentration of our desires, by this we bring Him from surrounding to internal. This is what we call, My sons have defeated me, or that we build the Creator.

Question (Kazakhstan): (40:48) Lately, you've been saying that we have to transition more towards the heart, the emotion, than the mind. But building the Ten, building the Kli, I do that with my mind. So, the following state seems to be personal, my own individual state. In my emotion, I have a more personal kind of influence.

M. Laitman: Don't you worry, everything ends up in the right state. Don't worry, just continue, just continue together with us trying to go over it a few times during the day, 24 hours. And you will see how this will build in you the spiritual disturbance.

Question (ITA 4): (41:55) What do you mean when you say, speak about it together in the Ten, in your meetings in order to delve deeper into the writings? In what way should we do it? With workshops, or each one says what he feels? In what way should we organize in order to be in connection?

M. Laitman: The most important is to awaken the heart of each and every friend in the Ten. To feel that everyone, the entire Ten is drawn into his heart, and this also invites from him the inclination to connect and to adhere and to be immersed in the hearts of the friends. And you need to show each and every friend how much you love him. Later on, we will reach a state where we will act, differently. We will show each and every one, maybe, how much we disregard him in order to give him the possibility to overcome what he sees. And to say, my eyes don't see correctly, I don't see the truth, indeed, in truth, there is love in the society, etc. But this will be in more advanced states, or the time being, we need to simply show each and every one that there is love between us towards Him, to each and every one. In that, there are many forms, but most importantly, we need to see how can we advance in that, how can we cause increasing connection.

Question (Moscow 7): (43:58) Baal HaSulam says that a person is glad to be in concealment because he prefers to delight the Creator. Can we differentiate between the concealment of the face and just beastly disconnection?

M. Laitman: No, if it is the concealment of the face, then I feel that here there has to be revelation of the good and instead I feel something else. The concealment is when I feel that there is something, however it is hidden; and if I completely do not feel something that needs to be here, how can I say that it is hidden? That is, concealment is already, it carries within it, it includes within it, the form of the future revelation.

Question (Moscow 7): (45:14) It's a question about the organizational part throughout the day.

M. Laitman: Guys, guys, I'm not going into this, you should make these decisions yourselves, together. We have the Management of Bnei Baruch. Also, you need to see if we can be together, more or less all of us, one more time during the day.

Reader: Well, the survey will come out today and we will give a few options there during the noon, during the evening – it's, it's on the way.

M. Laitman: So, I'm ready as much as you want, we will need to do this.

Question (Belarus): (46:03) How can I delight the Creator during concealment?

M. Laitman: By performing such exercises where you don't care if he's revealed or concealed. The main thing is that from every state you're in, you do through the friends what's good for him, and that's all. Until you equalize, it's like in a – how to say – when you focus, when you cross the two forms together, superimpose the two forms together. So, the group and the Creator have to appear to you as one, to be as one, where the group is the vessel and the Creator is the feeling within the vessel.

Question (MAK VG 4): (47:12) The ascent begins when the sum of the vectors, the intentions and thoughts, in spite of whatever is happening, is greater?

M. Laitman: The ascent starts when force comes from above and it elevates you, and how it comes? Through our feelings, into our feelings, we cannot say it has to be different every time because the ascent in spirituality is actually, it can be very different, even the opposite of corporeality. Because these are discernments where we say that we rise. So, there are higher discernments, more spiritual, more of bestowal, more outside of myself. So, it doesn't always appear in a – I don't have, to begin with, I don't have vessels of bestowal with which I feel that I'm rising, ascending. Usually, it brings me confusion, a lack of sensation, and so on. But it's good that you think that way. That way, it will stabilize as you go on, it's a leap forward.

Question (ITA 4): (49:00) Is it true that we have to interpret the excerpts we're reading or should we just read them and beyond that just focus on connection between us?

M. Laitman: Well, you can interpret it, just try to interpret it according to spiritual discernments and not corporeal discernments or religious discernments, you understand? Try to interpret them according to the discernments of the Kabbalists, that's what we do.

Question (Moscow 3): (49:45) You said that now we need to integrate, to dissolve in the hearts of the friends. What does that mean?

M. Laitman: To be diffused in the hearts of the friends means that I accept everything that they want – their inclinations, everything that is in them – as something that is important, more than my goal, my desires, my intentions, etc., I accept them as more important than myself.

Question (Latin 7): (50:33) My question is, what exactly should I discover, what should I keep or hide so that it won't be revealed?

M. Laitman: I need to try to feel in my heart that the friends are becoming closer and closer every day, more important. And in them to that extent, I can measure, see if I'm coming closer to feeling the Creator, attaining the Creator, that's how it is.

Question (PT 18): (51:36) I am asking that you will explain to us, Shamati: There is None Else Besides Him.

M. Laitman: I cannot explain this, this is something a person attains with his corrected vessels, that's the purpose of all of our advancement and development. And I'm certain that you are capable of attaining this and then you will get the proper explanation for yourself. And for each and every one, it's a different explanation according to the root of his soul.

Question (PT 25): (52:17) If I understand that it would be good for the Creator that I will work in the Achorayim, at the posterior, and I agree to it, is this, like, in nature, still vegetative and animate?

M. Laitman: No. We need to work under concealment because it's only in that way that we attain the quality of bestowal. The Creator created the light and darkness, deliberately, so that by feeling the darkness we develop within us a proper disposition towards the light, a proper approach to the light. Otherwise, we don't know what the light is. Only the darkness, the lack of orientation, feeling, understanding, that guides us towards the spiritual light.

Question (PT 25): (53:49) What is the freedom of choice of the Kabbalist?

M. Laitman: Freedom of choice? To choose bestowal over all the disruptions. There are all sorts of corporeal preparations and even spiritual preparations, possibly, that you make in order to achieve adhesion with the friends through which one finds that he exists in spirituality, in the spiritual world. That is freedom. Our freedom is called,  the middle third of Tiferet in the Partzuf, which can attribute itself or affiliate both with the lower half of the Partzuf or the upper half of the Partzuf, and to connect the two properly.

Question (PT 34): (55:05) How should our society guard itself and our code of conduct, our covenant? For more than 70 years, we had the afternoon article.

M. Laitman: Your question is completely inappropriate. It doesn't matter what was, what will be. You need to hear what you're being told and that's it, not to be so smart. You want me to close this, blacklist this group, so you cannot ask? Ask about what we're talking about. I don't want to hear your claims that this was, it was this way, it will be this way – hear what we need to do now and change accordingly – and if you can't, you're free to go.

Question (Rehovot): (55:52) What is the right role and the right usage of the mind, the intellect, during the concealment?

M. Laitman: To try to understand that the concealment is to your benefit, and you need to try to determine to relate to it that way.

Reader: Alright, so we're reading Excerpt Number 14 from Baal HaSulam, Shamati 42, What Does the Acronym ELUL, I to my Beloved and my Beloved to me, imply in the work?

Reading: (56:23) 14. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 42. “What Is the Acronym Elul in the Work?”  Twice

When one comes to a state where one has no support, one’s state becomes black, which is the lowest quality in the upper world, and that becomes the Keter to the lower one, as the Kli of Keter is a vessel of bestowal. The lowest quality in the upper one is Malchut, which has nothing of its own, meaning that she does not have anything. Only in this manner is it called Malchut. It means that if one takes upon himself the kingdom of heaven—which is in a state of not having anything—gladly, afterward, it becomes Keter, which is a vessel of bestowal.

Reader: Should I read it again? Okay, again, Excerpt 14.

M. Laitman: Yes, and this is how one advances, meaning he feels these two states, Malchut of the upper one, that's the higher degree, yes. But for the time being, he feels it to be darkness. And he continues, he accepts this, takes it upon himself, yes. And then, through that, from that it's revealed that it's not just darkness, but the Malchut of the upper one. And so, he's entered a higher degree.

Reader: Okay, so Excerpt 15 from Rabash, Article 12. “These Candles Are Sacred”.

Reading: (59:29) 15. Rabash. Article 12 (1991), “These Candles Are Sacred”  Twice

And the most important is the prayer. That is, one must pray to the Creator to help him go above reason, meaning that the work should be with gladness, as though he has already been rewarded with the reason of Kedusha, and what joy he would feel then. Likewise, he should ask the Creator to give him this power, so he can go above the reason of the body. In other words, although the body does not agree to this work in order to bestow, he asks the Creator to be able to work with gladness, as is suitable for one who serves a great King. He does not ask the Creator to show the greatness of the Creator, and then he will work gladly. Rather, he wants the Creator to give him joy in the work of above reason, that it will be as important to a person as if he already has reason.

Question (ITA 3): (01:02:37) How can Ten different desires become one?

M. Laitman: They complete each other in order to bestow upon the Creator, that's all. It doesn’t matter to them that they are different, they are all different. The difference between Sefirot and Sefirot in the Partzuf is radical, an extreme difference where if it's not for the same goal they would never be close to each other at all. Because each Sefirot also divides into Ten, and then to Ten again and again. Meaning there is nothing in any one which can be connected to the other. If it weren't for the goal that connects them together, there would never have been any connection between the cells of the body if not for the overarching thoughts where they need to rise to attain that thought. So, all of the cells would have been like just a mound of biological mass, biological particles, that's how it is.

Question (ITA 4): (01:04:10) I feel that we are in special times and the friends have new emotions, and we're beginning to feel love towards the friends, towards you, towards the Creator. Does it mean that we are attaining upliftment above our ego?

M. Laitman: It means that the Creator is shining His light in you, first of all that, illuminating in you. And you need to scrutinize, individually and together between you, what's the result of His illumination, Him illuminating more upon you. Meaning, to start playing with Him, with the light that shines in that direction. Not to go into psychology or the forms of connection – it's rather all of the effort has to be directed towards finding how we're connected to the Creator now. How He illuminates upon us, how we increase our power by connecting more to Him, it's only in the direction of the Creator that all of our inclinations have to be, all of our research, all of our search. Yes, all of our search, yes. So that this way, not even inside the Ten, but inside the Ten to the Creator and the Creator. Right?

Question (United VG 3): (01:06:04) To go in sanctity is when I dissolve among the friends.

M. Laitman: Yes if I integrate with the friends, then I'm directed towards Kedusha, holiness.

Question (French): (01:06:45) In Excerpt 14, you said that we need to see the group and the Creator as one. Should we include in our thought the female part also of the Kli? Can you explain that?

M. Laitman: No, we're not talking about the women now. We're talking about the connection between us and from us to the Creator. The women, that comes later, we're not engaged with that now.
