111. Explanation of the shape of the letters in the bottom Hey, which is the Temple, Malchut, the moon, when she governs and decorates herself to the sun, ZA, to receive light from him. They stand as two lovers facing one another, and those virgins with her decorate themselves and correct themselves in corrections, one behind her, to the west, one in front of her, to the east, one to the south, and one to the north, while she stands in the middle.

moon,
for
Malchut,
to

the

her
husband.
She
stands
like
this
[],
like
a
half
moon.
113. The dot in the middle corresponds to the middle line, ZA, since that dot, Malchut, receives light from the sun, ZA, to shine to the whole body.
This is the dot that stands at half the eye, meaning that the eye seems like a half circle, and in the middle of the dot, which is called “the pupil,” all the light in the eye is in that dot that stands in the middle of the eye. It takes all the light to shine for the entire eye. Likewise, the moon, Malchut, shines only from within one dot that stands and is concealed in its middle, although the dot is not seen in the moon.
114. There is no circle in the world that is not done from within a point that stands in its middle. For this reason, everything in the circle of the moon, too, is done from within one point that is concealed inside of it, in the middle. That point that stands in the middle takes all the light and shines to the body, and illuminates everything.
115. The secret of secrets to those who look into the secrets of the wisdom, the letter Hey that is half the body of the moon, Malchut, is in a circle in the dot that stands in its middle. It is a half-circle since it is blocked on this side and open on that side like a female that is open to the male to receive him inside of her and to shine from him and bond with him.
Hence, she is open to him to receive him, and then the Hey is called a Hey, as someone who says, “Here I am,” meaning He, which means “here.” Hence, when Malchut is ready to receive from ZA, it is as though she says to him, “Here I am,” which is why she calls him He.”
In the depiction of the Hey, too, there are three phases: Neshama [soul], Guf [body], and garments of the body. When Malchut makes a coupling with ZA, the sun, to receive light from him, they stand as two lovers facing each other, both of them as one, just as ZA is in covered Hassadim and receiving from upper AVI, so is Malchut in covered Hassadim, like him. This is regarded as them being similar to upper AVI, who are called “two lovers.” The illumination of that coupling that she receives from ZA is the main part of her light, and she is the phase of Neshama to Malchut.
The Guf [body] of Malchut, the seventy-two Sanhedrin who stand as a circular half circle, implies the name AB that emerges from the three verses “and journeyed,” “and came,” and pitched,” HGT of ZA. The seventy-two Sanhedrin make the Guf for the Malchut, in which the Neshama dresses. The Guf of Malchut is made by them as a circular half circle since so is the shape of the moon before she is full.
The garments of Malchut are the virgins who are with her, who decorate and correct themselves. They are the degrees extended from the posterior vessels of Malchut. Since Malchut receives Hochma only in posterior vessels, she needs those virgins to complete her posterior vessels, and they are regarded as the garments for her Guf.
The illumination of the coupling that Malchut receives from ZA is the main part of her illumination, her Neshama. It was said that the point in the middle receives light from the sun since the point in the middle is Malchut, who receives from the complete coupling of the internality of ZA, who is called “sun.” Also, the moon, Malchut, shines only from within a dot that stands and is concealed in its middle, since only it is suitable for reception of the illumination of the coupling of ZA. For this reason, that dot that stands in the middle takes all the light that she receives from the internality of ZA, from his complete Ruach, which contains all the light in her because at that time, she has only that complete light of Hassadim that she receives from ZA.
For this reason, it was said about the letter Hey that she is half the Guf of the moon, since the wholeness of the moon is in both her lights, in Hochma and in Hassadim together. Since she receives only Hassadim during the coupling, she is discerned as being at half her Guf, only in Hassadim. She is a half-circle because she is blocked on this side, blocked from receiving Hochma, and open on that side, open only to receive Hassadim from her husband. For this reason, she has only half her Guf.
116. When she shines from him and they unite with one another, and the moon is filled, that Hey is filled, and the moon is filled with Hochma, too. Then, where she was a Hey, half the moon, she becomes a [final] Mem [ם], the full moon, a complete body.
Although during the coupling, she is only in reception of Hassadim, half her body, the garments, too, shine in her from afar in posterior vessels, who are her virgins. After the coupling, when she has been filled with the light of Hassadim, the illumination of Hochma in her posterior is completed and they are incorporated in one another. At that time, the moon is full, in a complete body from Hassadim and Hochma together, in a blocked [final] Mem.
However, there are two phases in the blocked Mem: 1) before the coupling, when she is Hochma without Hassadim and cannot shine, 2) after the coupling, when she is filled with Hassadim, and then the Hochma can shine, as well, and she is in complete wholeness.
117. Thus, Malchut, the blocked Mem, is like upper Ima, Bina, as it is written, “Of the increase of His government,” where the letter in the middle of the letters is blocked [rather than at the end of the word], indicating the completeness of Hochma and Hassadim together. Now the moon stands in its fullest, the lower world, Malchut, like the upper world, Bina, and this is the letter Mem.
118. The letter Mem is not in a circle since the moon stands in its fullest, and everything of what she previously was in the letter Hey, which was an open Hey, at first, to receive abundance of Hassadim in completeness from her husband, after she is completed from her husband with Hassadim, she became completely full, meaning that Hochma shines in her, as well. At that time, she becomes the letter Mem, like the upper one, which is the next world, Bina.
For this reason, there is an upper Hey, Bina, and a bottom Hey, Malchut, as well as an upper Mem, Bina, and a bottom Mem, Malchut, one opposite the other, for Malchut is similar to Bina. This is one matter, that the upper one and lower one, Bina and Malchut, are as one.
119. The upper world, Bina, is initially open in a Hey. She began with an open Mem [ם] like Malchut, who is initially in an open Hey [ה], and when Bina is filled with the upper thirty-two paths of wisdom, and shone to illuminate; she expands and is completed and becomes a Mem. And everything, Bina and Malchut, are one.
