Baal HaSulam. The Freedom

R. This article is very close to us, it asks you immediately if you are some biological creatures operating through all kinds of forces that nature planted in you and this is you. Or is there something in you that you can say that this is me, something special that doesn't exist in anyone else, that I am unique in this in the sense that I can be one unique and unified like the Creator is one unique and unified or not. If I don't have such a thing then I am like any other still, vegetative or animate, if I have something special that I can be free from nature, above nature, if I have some way to come to be like the Creator who is above nature that he designed nature for me from above downward, where all of nature is under his control and that I also can be like the Creator, above nature. looking at it and being outside of it. That I could have such freedom which contains in it completeness, eternity and control of everything that is outside of me so do I have such a thing or not?

Do I have the concept of freedom and can I be in it or not? This is what I as a person who has a feeling, and intellect and ability to understand myself, can I know this or not? This is what I want and in this I am free from any religion, faith and all kinds of teaching philosophies psychology, I don't care about anything I want to know only this, can I be above nature as if observing nature, looking at nature in a way that I am observing it and all of nature is underneath me. The freedom where I don't belong to any force, that I am not under any force and that there is nothing above me. That you could even say that there's even nothing below me, that I don't owe anything to anyone, not to tend to anyone or be dependent on anyone, something like that. Which in the meantime, I can imagine as the concept of freedom because in the meantime it is according to my situation as I see it. Afterwards we will see what we can add to these conditions that will be incorporated in the concept of freedom.

Reader begins: (04:42) “Harut [carved] on the tables;’ do not pronounce it Harut ….”

2. R. You can ask as we read if something is on clear but please ask concisely. If they are pertinent questions, we will be happy to relate to it as it will help everyone in advance.

3. S. (08:38) He said specifically that Humanity has been struggling for its freedom for hundreds of years and even an animal dies if you rob him of his freedom, so what is the question whether there is freedom, obviously yes because he's fighting for it?

R. I guess it's not that clear or obvious. in your words everything seems to be clear I live for my life and I live and fight for my life and I am fighting also for my standard of living, for the way that I live and all of those states I fight, I am alive and I feel in this that I am really in a struggle, that I am saving myself from losing my freedom. In other words, how is freedom expressed in us, by continuing to live and maybe I live according to my understanding, a little better and higher than before. This is what I define as freedom.

4. S. (10:16) What is supposed to be the freedom for one who wants to bestow contentment to the Creator?

R. I don't know, I guess we will come to it, I don't know what it is to bestow contentment on the Creator or what freedom is in general or what is freedom in relation to bestowing upon the Creator, I don't know but the question is correct and appropriate. If we continue to develop it, we will get to something.

5. S. (11:14) It spoke about attaining the eternal body and losing it again, how do you lose the eternal body?

R. I don't know, he only gave us some definitions that we have not yet learned, I don't know what an eternal body is or how to lose it, how to in general to reveal it. You are asking about things we have not yet learned, they were given as preliminary questions.

6. S. (12:09) How to achieve the degree in which we can make a true choice, a true freedom of choice?

R. In order to make a choice we have to be not on the first spiritual degree, not even the second or the third, we have to have the power, the light of wisdom, the light of Mercy and control the sources of these lights, that we can manage ourselves through these lights that come to us from above. Then we keep ourselves always above the will to receive that can erupt in us at any moment and we have the power to restrain it, tie it up and keep it. You can't kill it and we don't need to but through it, the more that erupts but in a controlled manner we summon and draw more positive powers of keeping control. That is how we grow to the extent that this animal, our will to receive grows by wanting to be free from it, we come to be in greater control of nature and the whole of nature that we acquire, attain the spiritual nature it will be thanks precisely to rising above our ego, above our will to receive.

This is why it is called helpmate against him and that is how we will grow. We will afterwards have to say thank you very much to this evil force when we come to a state where we love it just like the good force and we will have no differences between the two forces, the bad and the good because both bring us to adhesion with the Creator as a result of working correctly with those two forces. Freedom of will, freedom from the angel of death which is our will to receive in order to receive, all of those things are necessary to go over them, to experience them and in this way, we will use them along the way in order to rise above everything. There is the degree of man who is similar to the Creator.

7. S. (17:22) Is freedom even possible, what is freedom and can we implement this phenomenon? I think it's completely possible if we take into account the ability to come out a framework of social dogma with Moses and the 600,000 people of Israel that succeeded with their freedom of choice to overcome the most ancient instinct, the fear of being away from the general people. When they took this commitment to be concerned of others, they were able to stop this instinct, and went above the borders of their limitations.

R. We will check it together.

8. S. (19:00) The inner quality of a person or an idea that you chase?

R. Freedom Is man's feeling, everything is scrutinized in a person's feeling.

9. S. (19:26) Baal HaSulam says it is very special that before you ask about the freedom of the individual you have to believe that one has the quality called freedom, what does he mean?

R. As if each one has an understanding of what freedom is, it exists in each and every one from babies to the greatest people, the grown-ups, each one but it all changes and develops which is why we have to come to the root of enslavement and opposite that perhaps we will come to the root of freedom and that is how we will know.

S. Being free from what?

R. Free from the angel of death, what does it mean I don't know we will find out together.

10. S. (20:45) Why is a person drawn to discover what freedom is and how do you feel it is lacking, where does the feeling of deficiency come from?

R. The feeling that it is lacking comes from our whole life, from our corporeal life add and more and more so as we are constantly running from one state to the next push ourselves into a state of freedom that is as great as possible, as safe as possible and in this way, we are operating like any other animal. The concept of freedom is always blurry to us. Look at what humanity chooses to run away, and how it chooses things, where is the freedom here? It's not clear.

11. S. (21:57) Can we come to a uniform understanding of freedom or is this something that is built in all the friends?

R. That's a good question, we will scrutinize it.

12. S. (22:21) Are we born with free choice or is it only when we choose to walk on the path that the Creator marked for us and there, we can be free?

R. This is something that we need to scrutinize.

13. S. (22:52) He writes here that the animals that die when we rob them from their freedom, is the fact that we enslave our will to receive to spiritual work, also bring it to death?

R. Your questions are way ahead, we have not come to this yet.

14. S. (23:30) If we are in the will to receive or the will to bestow, we can't have any freedom because or freedom we have to have some form of above these desires or between them?

R. Yes what you're saying is absolutely correct

Reader continues: (24:04) Subtitle: “Pleasure and Pain”

15. R. (27:01) In other words we see as he describes from our lives that we have no chance to emerge from these two forces of nature, the power of pleasure and the power of suffering, which operate us as if with two reins, by which we steer the horse this way or that way. This is what nature does with us and we have no way to resist it because we are only a desire to enjoy. And therefore, through pleasure and pain nature can lead us anywhere because in the end we will always have to choose, we will be compelled to choose pleasure, we have no chance of escaping from this.

16. S. (28:18) Can we say that freedom is recognizing there is no freedom?

R. We're still not talking about this, this is philosophy. We are speaking about the will to receive which when it looks in a healthy way on its situation it says I am dependent on pleasure or suffering, to what extent each of them is greater than the other. And this is what forces me to act, and I have no way of doing anything here about it. It is like that with all of the animals including man.

17. S. (29:11) How can you understand what freedom is inside of us?

R. I don't know, we haven't come to it, why are you jumping? I don't even know what freedom is. He is explaining that we are dependent on pleasure or pain 100%. How does he come from this to freedom? It is becoming less and less clear.

18. S. (29:47) No translation

R. I don't know, it's not important for me now.

Reader continues: (30:10) “Moreover, even determining the type of pleasure ….”

19. R. (32:44) In other words not only am I not doing anything here but nature constantly shows me where there is more pleasure and less pain, and in this way, it manages me everywhere. And I am compelled having no other way, I cannot resist it. Like a machine I turn this way or that way, wherever there is more pleasure as opposed to wherever there is less suffering. In this way I'm living constantly in my thoughts, desires and actions with everyone, with the still vegetative animate and speaking, with my whole environment. This is how I behave in order to in every moment maintain myself in the ideal state with respect to the possible pleasure. That is clear right? Think about our lives and see that this is really the formula.

20. S. (33:54) How can we rise above our personal desires and calculations and try to bestow?

R. I don't know but see what he explains later on. For now, he is just telling us how we are not free, as much as there is no freedom in our life and each and everyone just does what nature in each and every moment shows him, where there is a bit more pleasure and a bit less pain and, in that direction, we go, just like that. Imagine that you are like a little puppy and they let you go onto some track and you go and search, where is more pleasure, less, more pleasure, less. That’s your life until you die, that's it. The life of the still, vegetative and animate.

Reader continues: (35:21) “And it is quite odd not only for the religious, ….”

21. R. (36:15) He says this, what’s good in religion, no matter what religion, Muslim, Christian, Jewish and all other kinds of faiths, what's good about it? That religion says you just live your life but know that after that there is an upper force and it will still have a good calculation with you if you listen to it. Do a little bit of something that it what it wants from you and in such a way there will be a positive calculation from your life, and obviously against the life were we learn how we are only activated by pleasures or pain. So, this matter of religion that we are taught still from above is a calculation, and if you do what it wants from you, you'll have a positive calculation. It draws a person, and you can see how all of humanity wants it they’re engaged in all kinds of charms and idols. Because people want to promise themselves eventually to have a good calculation. If I behave only according to pleasure and pain there is no calculation within me because it was locked in from above and supposedly, I would never exist independently, but if I add to my life something for myself that is already a different calculation, that's why the matter of religion is so touching to the heart of everyone, that's for now. What does he say here?

Reader continues: (38:34) “and it is quite odd and not only to the religious…”

22. R. That are only conducted with reward and punishment.

23. S. (39:58) In the text it says that for the most part I do it against my will. What does it mean ‘in most cases, for the most part?’

R. If I would plan my life, I would plan it differently, obviously. Meaning, I can't say about my life that it is a good life and I'm living in pleasures. Still, what I was given in this life, to run from the bad and to be drawn to the good, that's already something. Meaning that I'm not in a state that I am only getting blows and I can't run away. I can still run and in some way prefer rest and pleasure upon hard suffering and that's it. But obviously that's not an answer yet, because the answer is before us.

24. S. (40:59) The choice of the environment that impresses me and the choice of the pleasures that impress me, is that free choice?

R. No, we’ll talk about this, too, because you didn't come to Bnei Baruch by your own choice. As we’ve read in the article and reading it now, you are given an opportunity to become free and for now you have no choice – no choice. You can say ‘so then I'm getting out of here,’ also if you get out of here and go out, that wasn't also your choice.

25. S. (42:08) Why are we talking about freedom in the terms of pleasure and pain, and suffering?

R. Because according to that, nature is conducting us, that's all, Nature conducts us with pleasure and pain, that's all. And that is the most faithful form, closest, connected, quickest way to manage us. Look how you take care of a horse: you have the reins and a whip, and with those, with both of them, you hit him – he moves ahead, and where you conduct him with the reins, that's it, same with us. We have right or left – either to pleasure or to pain – and there is a whip for us to move, more or less. According to our nature, we could not move at all but the suffering forces us to get up and move and to which way. So those reins show us and this is why by this, we are also completely not independent – there’s is no independence to man before his restriction and to the extent he rises above the restriction, to that extend he has the ability to be free that's why this article is called ‘the article of the freedom: to explain to you what the conditions are to be free to be

Adam, man, and not a beast, as it is written, ‘on our world, we were all is beasts’ and then we have no ability to prevent ourselves from being beasts unless we use what we’re learning and the force of society and in this way, we come out of the corporeal, egotistical nature if this is what we want; meaning, I need to bring to myself a clear form, a clear depiction that I either I'm a beast and I only go as a beast in my life, and this is me with my ego. I am included in the 10 – men and women – included in them if I want to be ‘man’, Adam, human: above corporeality, above the beasts and animals, above the animate degree, only. I have no other choice: to come out of myself, I can only do so if I raise myself to the degree of general. That's why this recognition has to be before us as something that there is no choice – either I'm remaining in my filth or I uplift above it to connection with others but the way that I fight for it, that I invest forces for it. Where do I get the forces? Also from the others, that the Creator shines through them to me; otherwise, we remain in the animate degree, and it seems to us like we're important, we exist and everything is okay. No, we are activated but it's either pleasure or pain, that's why we are under these two reins that tie us to this life and that's it.

S. If these reins come from the Creator's, should freedom also come from the Creator?

R. Freedom in the reins and everything is in our environment. If I connect myself to the environment, by the environment I can uplift above myself, I lift upon the pit that I am into the environment, and then they can take me out – they save me – and then according to that I can keep on going. If I keep going with the environment, I am already not as activated by these two reins of pleasure and pain, I'm already aimed along with them to the purpose of life which is to be on the degree of Adam who resembles the Creator.

26. S. (48:24) Why if we have no choice do, we feel a need for freedom?

R. I'll tell you, we don't always feel that we have a need for freedom. There are states in man's life that he doesn't feel good when he’s free, he doesn't feel good when he's free. It's also written in the Torah that the slave who tells his master that he wants to stay a slave and so on, and us too. How many of us are willing to fight in order to go out for freedom? Freedom means to come out of our ego – that it won't dictate to us what it wants. That he's the landlord and He does whatever it wants with us; we don't recognize it, we don’t fight against it. And in each and every moment, it dictates” ‘you do this and you do this, and this and this.’ I'm not even aware of it, I just go and I do what my ego tells me at each and every moment to do. So, in such a way, it's called that ‘I am a slave’ – no, I'm not a slave, I’m just so connected to my ego, to my master, that I have no problem with it. I'm in this life and I'm willing to work under all these laws at my ego’s determining and in such a way, I finish my life just as I started – that I was connected to it, just as throughout life it was always conducting me without asking my opinion – because I wasn't separated from it. I wasn't even aware that I'm under its control to such an extent that it will fill me and managed me, right? and that's how I go through life. But now in our times, there are more and more people who asked about the essence of life, the purpose of life. That's why there is a question that awakens in them that they don't even feel the essence of the question: that they want to come out of the control of this life, and in other words, deeper words, they want to come out of the force that's determining their life, and that is the ego.

S. The choice, the decision of a servant to remain a servant, is that regarded as a free choice or is it a continuation of the enslavement?

R. Sneaky question, very nice question: the fact that we are starting to ask about our slavery, about who is our landlord and why He’s doing it to us. That's actually us asking who is awakening us and who wants us to want to come out of our ego from slavery, and if from slavery we go out – so we go into some other slavery? Maybe it's worse, maybe even sneaky that we can't even recognize that it is, also, slavery but in such a way that it is very unique that we will think that we're free but we are completely not free? Now we have a question about our freedom in our biological state, that we were aimed in all kinds of ways. It could be that we are completely lifted about it and we lose the feeling that we could be free – yes or no – there are a lot of questions about this. You right, there's something to think about, here. We will work on it one by one.

27. S. (53:55) What can influence an individual so he can somehow recognize that it doesn't have freedom of choice whatsoever?

R. I think that, at least, us telling everybody that we are under the control of the ego and that its controlling us, and we have no choice – supposedly for now that we’re in it but to recognize that we're in slavery and that as much as we want to come out of this slavery of our ego, we’re not able to. And we try and we can’t, and we try and we can't until we're still not despaired from it but in order to come out of my ego, I’m willing to connect to a 10 – this is already me coming out of my ego towards others – it's already a big step, and afterwards when I'm with them, together, and we connect all our tendency to overcome slavery – above our ego – by that we actually received from above, from the higher degree from nature, a special force that raises us but together. Because we want one towards the other to annul our ego in a corporeal way, as much as we can, and to that extent we are identifying with the upper force which is opposite to our ego. So as much as we annul the ego towards each other, by this we are connected to the upper Force in equivalence of form with It, and then we grab on to it and pray – demand it – to take us out of the control of our ego and this is what we attain. And in this way every time: we don't have a crane or an ability to rise from our ego, our egoistic individual ego but only by the connection between us, more and more, and then according to that, we invite that upper force that takes us out. And in this way, here we perform this action very similar to what we do in our world, just not with different forces of nature, but to the extent that we connect in the lower degree by this according to our tendency we start resembling the higher degree.

28. S. (57:41) You’re saying that we asked the upper Force to pull a side of our ego. What is my

expectation from the upper Force? What should it give me as a result of my request?

R. I am expecting the upper Force to take me out of my ego because I have reached a state of recognition of evil that to be in my ego, that He constantly turns me around from one state to the other, that I see that I've started my life in such a way and I'm about to finish my life in such a way if this upper Force won't change my life. Meaning won't give me the opposite, the different forces, that I will be in this slavery in the desire either the good desires – well, pleasure or pain. I don’t want to be belonging to either pleasure or pain, I want to be free because to be under pleasure or pain, I'm just like a little animal that behaves in such a way – we don't have any freedom of choice to it and neither do I. I only have an imagination, an illusion that I’m in freedom of choice, that I choose this or that but it's not choice. I always prefer where’s the pleasure compared to the pain, and they draw me, meaning my scrutiny is between pleasure and pain.

S. I am discovering that I'm totally controlled by this force, by the will to receive. And I say, ‘no, I won't do it’ but in the end, I do it.

R. That’s called recognition of evil. That you understand that you are under the control of this force and he’s controlling you without asking you.

S. Right, it does ask me whatsoever; and, also, I can't even negotiate with it, so then what should I do – I turn to the Creator and then what?

R. Asking the Creator to overcome above your nature that is controlled by the two forces: pleasure and pain. And you’re like a horse between those two reins, you are lead in such a way, and you don't want to be the horse connected to them. You want to be above it – above that means the degree of Adam.

S. So what do I prefer for ‘my horse,’ a connection with the friends?

R. You want to be free and that's why, now, you are here and studying the article of The Freedom.

29. S. (01:01:12) How is the working in the 10 connected to the process of control and everything you just talked about?

R. Everything written in the wisdom of Kabbalah is for us to come out of the animate degree and to reach the speaking degree, that's it, that’s why all of our studies are in order to know it in our mind and to hear the advice of the Kabbalists to connect in order to have a greater force in our degree and to turn to the Creator to give us forces from above, to take the whole 10 into a higher-level. All in all, that is what we need.

30. S (01:02:30) The more advanced in spirituality, do we have more freedom or do we have less of it?

R. The more we advance in spirituality, the more we understand that we have no freedom and that we are under the control of the will to receive, the egoistic forces, and that we have no choice and that we have to do something against that, otherwise we will remain beasts, animals. That's why we needed to understand that only the connection between us and then a plea to the Creator that is the only thing that can save us, that's it.

31. S. (01:03:24) Why do we need freedom and what does it mean to acquire freedom?

R. We need freedom because we have a point in the heart which is a part of the Divine from above. It doesn’t belong to the ego, not the will to receive, not anything – it draws us towards our source which is the Creator – that's why we need to reach it. And I don't mind investing my whole life in it, ‘til the last moment and above it. Only in order to come out of slavery, of my will to receive, and to overcome towards the design of the Creator.

32. S. (01:04:19) The more our ego suffers, do we have more possibility to direct us towards freedom?

R. It's not exactly right in such a linear way that this equals that but as much as an ego grows in a person, it needs the correction more – that's how I would answer.

33. S. (01:04:50) What is the meaning of freedom? Is it when all our desires are determined and designed through this society?

R. No. Freedom is when we are completely adhered to the Creator. Obviously, it happens through society – that the 10 or more than the 10, more 10s– are adhered to the Creator. By that we attain freedom because the Creator is a state of freedom. For Him, it's only the force of bestowal and then He doesn't feel Himself – if you can say about Him – doesn’t feel Himself that He depends on some photos of control or reception.

34. S. (01:05:56) Is it correct to increase the importance of being a slave so it will increase the importance of the Creator and freedom?

R. I don't understand the importance of the slave?

S. To emphasize that I am a slave and that will cause the opposite and increase the importance of the Creator and freedom.

R. Yes, you can. That’s why it’s called, ‘entering Egypt.’ That we can feel that as much as we are under the control of the ego, the control of Pharaoh, because without the recognition of slavery in our ego, we will not be able to reach freedom, to run away from him.

35. S. (01:06:48) Is unity freedom?

R. Unity isn't freedom, unity is action that we need to perform between us upon all kinds of forces that reject us from one another, and the more we advance, these forces will more and more reject us from one another. If we now don't understand each other, then we will hate each other, then we’re going to want to kill each other and then according to that, also at times, we’re going to connect to one another and hug. So, if we want to truly reach closest to the Creator and ‘love will cover all crimes,’ meaning we always have to prefer connection above the forces of rejection. Even though we hate each other – and I'm saying this to the women – that there is no choice. You want to reach spirituality so don’t let each one remain on her own, in her little corner but only toward the connection. Otherwise, you will just remain like that and in this way, you will finish your life

36. S. (01:08:35) Why does the Creator create an illusion of personal freedom in this world?

R. It's just that the upper light doesn’t shine on him. The upper light comes from one source and when it comes, man starts feeling how much he is opposite. And the Creator created this so we won't feel, right away, the lack of freedom because we need to develop like little children. And then through our development – it could be out through generations, incarnations – we reach a state that we discover as much as we are completely not free. And it really depends on our social development – the development of science, political, financial, all kinds of things – because the man of this world needs to reach ripeness and only from that he can demand to be Adam, a spiritual Adam.

37. R. (01:10:59) Let's summarize: what is the summary? That we all don't know what freedom is, that’s how we’re born. That's why our degree which we are in is called the animate degree, and we awaken parts of us, some of us awaken to the speaking degree, Adam, who resembles the Creator, and then we're giving, first of all, according to what we learn in the article, The Freedom; and also we learned from the article, The Arvut – that we are brought to a group, to a society and the Creator puts a person’s hand on the good fortune and says, ‘take this for yourself’. Sometimes it takes years, decades, even, of years, before a person can hear this. And then he wanders around and does all kinds of things, and still his ego will not let him be ready; and not even say do what's written to connect this society, to annul to society, to lose himself in society – to just be immersed in it – and only in such a way he reaches a state where he starts being Adam, man who resembles the Creator, and that's what we are now trying to do. And for now, we are going to follow our life which is life and pleasure and pain – a bit of please, a bit of pain – for us to start scrutinizing through the states what is up with us.

38. S. (01:13:27) I build in me a calculation when I ask myself: what pleasure am I willing to go through the states of emptiness along the way?

R. It's not exactly a question that being asked from us. We're asking what you want to live for and not the pleasures you want to receive. But still, what do you want to live for, what do you want to see as your great thing in life? What do you want to have at the end of your life or you want to end your life, now? But not some kind of exchanging one pleasure for another one.

39. S. (01:14:46) A person who yearns to be free, to be a man should he yearn to be above the pleasure and the suffering or to change the essence of the pleasure and the suffering?

R. The degree of Adam is above our ego, to the extent that you uplift from your ego. Our ego activates us through pleasure and pain. Man, that resembles the Creator is to the extent that the will to receive identifies with the force of Bina, with the will to bestow and then to that extend he’s called Adam, that all his pleasures are how he can give back to the Creator, to the Keter the pleasure that the Creator wants to give him. That has called me for my beloved and my beloved for me.

40. S. (01:16:05) When is a person willing to hear this truth about the freedom of choice?

R. Not immediately, when a person is ready to hear about the freedom of choice and the choice between what to what, after he is aware that he is in between pleasure and pain, that it’s his corporeal life and he is like a beast. That by the pleasure and pain he is led to whatever they want him to. That if now in his mind and in his heart, he'll get an idea that there is pleasure in something he’ll be drawn to it, and wherever there’s suffering he will run from it. And in this way, he is led through life. These sources of pleasure and pain change in him and by these two reins he is pulled to each and every goal and in this way, he actually starts life and finishes life. If we want to determine ourselves as free like the name of the article the Freedom, so freedom is that I am not under the control of pleasure or pain. How could such a thing be if that's all my nature, the will to receive? I have to overcome my will to receive and to try and live above it, that I will have some force the draws me above my will to receive, holds me above my will to receive like a magnet that holds a piece of metal in the air, and then to that extent I'll be free. That is called the freedom. I will need the upper force, the Creator that he will pull me and hold me above my nature, above the Malchut under the degree of Bina that is in the middle between Malchut and Keter. In this way we will be able to work.

41. S. (01:18:54) Each one is drawn towards freedom and each one has different definition, how do we use it for the purpose of the world’s education?

R. For now, we need to scrutinize for humanity as much as we are in slavery. Slavery of our ego that draws us in all kinds of directions, confuses us and sometimes puts us in such states that don’t only bring us suffering but also death. It is all our egoistic nature. How we can overcome our egoistic nature until it doesn’t bring us all to complete destruction, that's a problem. That’s what we need to explain.

42. S. (01:20:10) You said that the ego creates a truth within ourselves that can distance ourselves from the group. How can we limit this problem because I feel it very strong at this moment?

R. We constantly need to awaken ourselves to the purpose of creation. That attaining it is only possible by connection, and there is no other way. And if we will hold ourselves correctly in such a way between us, then for sure in a short time we can reach a state that the upper force, not pleasure and pain but one force will draw us, and we can live in the quality of the Creator and not the pleasure and pain of the corporeal beings.

43 S. (01:22:15) Rav, we are approaching the end we want to ask you as a summary how do you feel about today’s lesson, the flow?

R. I think we’re answering a lot of questions here and I think it's a good lesson. It still gives each one answers that everybody would have asked, maybe they didn’t get enough answers for it but if not answers at least a basis for them to search for the answers themselves. And still want to hear questions from the women.

44. S. (01:23:32) Should humanity come to the recognition of evil in order to reach freedom or do only we reach the recognition of evil?

R. Humanity needs to reach recognition of evil to the extent that they need to connect with us, the men and women of BB, and along with us rise to a spiritual degree. They themselves don't need to research the connection to the spiritual degree but only to be or to receive the form that we are speaking about, the content that we are speaking about, our goal. But how to do it, no. We are doing it ourselves by us feeling their deficiencies. They have to raise MAN to us and we need from that to raise them together with us. That's what’s written at the end of the introduction to the book of Zohar. That’s why everything will work out.

45. S. (01:24:52) Is the pleasure of being free above the will to receives pleasure for myself?

R. Yes, the pleasure to be free is the pleasure of the Creator. It’s pleasure that’s in man, in all people who are on the degree of the Creator, the degree of Adam HaRishon. It's a different vessel, it’s different fulfillment and let's hope that soon we will also attain it.
