Baal HaSulam. The Freedom (For Social Life, the Law, Take after the Collective)

Reader begins

1. R. (02:59) In a few lines Baal HaSulam writes to us about how the society needs to be, about the governance and the regime, and some order in society. Certainly following the collective is the way but in an individual private life each can define what he wants and that is right if it doesn't have anything to do with the freedom of the society and there is room for that freedom for the individual.

2. S. (03:46) “The Arvut” article tells us that Israel is entirely dependent on society and corporal reality is dependent on the many. Do we ever get rid of the will to receive for oneself?

R. No, that is correct that they can't get to that. You can see how the world is coming to a state where it is becoming a mash, a porridge, that is being cooked on the fire and doesn't understand how to arrange all the relations between the countries and that we are all dependent on each other. America, Russia, China, Turkey and all other powers want to be above that. We cannot do anything until out of the struggle, the failure, and out of the problems, people understand that there has to be a general law that arranges everyone in balance. It cannot be that one is more or less than the other. We need to stop working with our ego otherwise these games bring forth damage especially now in these times. Anyone who wants to engage with force in the last generation will actually be harmed more. The laws of nature are not the same laws as they were before, they changed in accordance with the development of humanity. Anyone who begins to go against the laws of the collective will fall. You will see this soon. All of these superpowers won't be able to calm themselves down and they will truly lose by that. The laws for social life will take after the collective and we become as one society around earth. We do not feel that it's like that, but in accordance with the laws of nature we are already in such laws. That is why the calculation is that whoever doesn't want to be close to the others, between the countries and the societies, will be damaged and will receive descents and losses.

3. S. (07:14) It's not clear what taking after the collective means.

R. I am not talking about how to arrange things, we are still far from that. I'm talking about the tendency and the trend. Taking after the collective in the society is considered that you need to be concerned with all levels of development of the society so that in general, it will be balanced as much as possible, as a unified society. It is clear that like in a cake that you slice or cut it, that there are different levels in every society. We need to see that we need to take after the collective even within a small, divided society because now we are coming closer to a state where humanity is becoming closer and closer to the system of Adam HaRishon whether through wars or agreements or through blows. We will have to understand that this is how it will be. Anyone who is playing with force and control will not have any success. The time for that passed long ago and no one will have any success in the control of others. Today control can only be to the Creator, to the upper force, the force of bestowal. From these days onwards those who engage in connection will eventually succeed and advance, and not those who are in separation or those who are engaged in war. You were not able to see it so much as it was spread out over hundreds of years but today each and every action will truly be on the spot.

4. S. (10:00) How do we come to a common solution that is suitable for everyone?

R. For the time being we want to arrange the same force of taking after the collective in each and every society, in every single place, in every layer, just like in our body. Every organ operates according to its law and sometimes those laws are even contradictory to one another within the organ. There is a mutual connection between the liver, the kidneys, heart, and lungs in order to strengthen and care for one another and this is how we also need to build. Adam HaRishon is made of systems and all the worlds, Partzufim, and all of the 125 degrees are in him, each and every detail. Personally, individually, and privately he also cares for the whole body by supplying the body with what the body needs in general. We cannot live without this and we are coming close to this. Nature is advancing us to become one body, like it or not, and in our times, we will see and actually sense this. All of these games in forcefulness and wars are very quickly going to be cancelled. It might take place through a world war, but historically we are speaking about dozens of years, not hundreds.

5. S. (12:16) Matters pertaining to the corporeal life of society seems rather subjective. For example, the coronavirus vaccinations. There are people who are getting vaccinated against the coronavirus and there are people suffering from not getting a vaccination. How do we bring society together correctly?

R. I was beside Rabash for 12 years and he did everything the doctors said. He said, ‘if you're going to a doctor and you don't trust him so much, go to another doctor and do what you hear from them. Not that you decide.’

S. The question is not about the vaccines, but about how to raise the corporeal existence of society. Baal HaSulam tells us that we are not allowed to take the freedom from an individual unless it harms society.

R. Gradually we need to bring the society closer to one unified form through education. It is not that we determine that we will all be equal, you can’t determine that, but such laws are from above. It is written ‘taking after the collective,’ meaning that you educate the many, the collective, until they know how to determine what is the accepted form of society for them. This is called ‘after the collective.’

6. S. (14:49) What does the expression ‘when the righteous connect is good for them and for the world and when the wicked connect it's bad for them and bad for the world’ mean?

R. I hope that the Creator will teach us about the little things here and there, about all sorts of struggles between the kids who are playing with power and force like all of the world leaders in power and we will learn from this. Surely the time of domination and control with true physical force by leaders is over. We are in the time of the last generation and operate by laws of the last generation. Meaning the law that there is one society, humanity, and it is not in one country but rather all around the globe of earth, and there is no choice but we need to truly see it with our senses, with mind, perception and tendency. We are in a state where we have nowhere to run from one another. Look what is happening with the coronavirus, how it is connecting everyone and inserting into us a concern for one another. If you don't feel that you're tied to one another then the virus will come and teach you that you are tied to one another. Hurricanes and other blows from nature will come and you will see just how small you are and how you must be more connected to be saved from the blows. Global time is now; the global blows arrange us to be a global humanity, a global society. If we will understand it, we won't need more because we will already be in the general collective mind. Worry about the general force that holds us and everything will work out and it will be okay.

7. S. (17:59) He says that there's no justification for the many to take away the freedom of the individual in any way. It sounds like socialism to me. Is this correct?

R. I can't come to you and determine for you what you will eat for lunch today.

S. So what is the individual’s freedom? Freedom from what?

R. Freedom from what doesn't pertain to society itself.

S. Are there no countries with laws?

R. Laws, please, you need to make laws in each country until the laws will be more or less balanced between all societies, between all the countries. When I go to some airplane, I don’t care whether it's a German, French, or an Israeli plane. I know that there are unified laws for that and I fly.

S. That is clear, but a person can't do whatever he wants to do as he's under the control of the law.

R. He needs to receive an education that he will want to do what is good for everyone and that it is also for his benefit.

S. We don't have that at all today.

R. I don't want to get into criticizing what is today. There is nothing today. We are talking about tomorrow.

8. S. (19:41) Who will rule and manage the world collective?

R. That already belongs to the governance of the world. It is not our United Nations. I don't want to add a few more not so nice words, you can do that, but it is not UNESCO or other international organizations. Rather, humanity will need to put together such systems instead of those that exist and operate seemingly for the good of humanity. They are all managed by nothing besides politicians and money.

S. What does the collective decide?

R. The benefit and good of the collective must be the goal for all governments of the world. That is it: the good of the collective. We need to rise above our egos a bit to understand the good of the collective and so we can feel it.

S. Can we say to take after the collective in corporeality is when we take everyone into consideration?

R. Bodily, it doesn't have to be spiritual. I am talking only about corporeality here. There is a different law in spirituality where we are going after Moses, after someone who is the big one, the one who has attained and is closer to the Creator than all. We need to ask him to direct us and tell us how to come after him and not after the collective because the best case in the collective is only capable of going after one. We are getting into it soon in the next subtitle, “In Spiritual Life, Take After the Individual.”

S. Are we advancing to the next place in corporeality in the collective where we need to care for and include everyone, and cannot leave a group behind?

R. It is up to us to go forward as much as possible, according to Rabash who is leading us. That's why we are called Bnei Baruch, the sons of Baruch, and will continue this way. Whoever will join us, will join; whoever will fall off, will fall off. There is no coercion in spirituality and we will continue until we reach the correct state. According to what I see now, we are advancing step-by-step. We are making the effort, more or less, to determine those same stages and we are coming closer to its realization.

S. Is there any connection in the point of taking after the collective in corporeality that we do in the ten or is this a world global thing?

R. No. We must take after the collective and make efforts to operate as an individual in society. In our society we don't determine the laws themselves, rather that these are spiritual laws that we need to realize in our society. Rabash explains how to realize them in The Social Articles. That each one annuls before the society and each one connects, and so on. That’s the group. The group is something else; it's not the collective or the individual. We will see.

Reader: (24:42) Subtitle “In Spiritual Life Take After the Individual”

9. R. (29:36) I think everything is clear here. You have an obligation of the individual and the collective to the society, everyone from the individual to the society and the society to the individual. Everyone must give to the other in order to operate for the attainment of the mutual goal between everyone. The society must have the freedom to press on the individual and the individual must have the freedom to determine his small little circle for himself. If the society has the law of taking after the collective, there must be in the laws of the society that are directed towards the society and not that the individual determines. We have a law of taking after the individual in the spiritual society. The society goes by the individual from lack of choice, and also from agreement later on, because the individuals are the developed. This is how it is in nature. Each and every thing develops like a pyramid.

10. S. (30:22) How does the undeveloped collective define and scrutinize what the individual is to follow? Most people follow the prettiest or the strongest.

R. The collective, the common people, choose their values and who they are going after according to what principles that they see in the individuals and if they answer their expectations. We are close to it and we speak about it but we do not carry it out, we don't perform it. First of all, those who manage us and who promised us a nice, good future are lying as they are thinking only about themselves and they just don't see it. We know that all of our choices are lies. Taking after the collective knows what it needs to be for their benefit. It is spoken of this need to take care of the public. The public cannot even choose something good and correct now as they are not capable. Look at the young generation. In general, we still need to prepare and educate them. You are actually right, not many individuals are in a state that they can choose one way or another correctly and to add to another. The individual or the collective shall operate in its sector, and its height, and the world will advance correctly.

11. S. (33:02) What is the benefit for society if the educated are the minority? We want the collective to be developed so what is the benefit of this for our development?

R. The society can't go after the collective. The collective needs to give what it wants but after that the individuals are those that manage its development. The pyramid form nonetheless exists. We are talking about desire. Society must exist according to its height and its states at each time. It receives correct education and directs itself near to the opinion of the individual. The individual manages society according to the desire of a society. Friends, read this again later and it will become clearer.

12. S. (34:50) Does the collective choose which individual to follow or is it always defined in advance from above by the Creator?

R. We choose only between us. This article is actually written for everyone. We need to choose those who are closer to the Creator from the masses of people and to go after them more and more. There used to be the Sanhedrin, the big Kabbalistic court of sages and wise ones who had attained, Kabbalists who knew what was spoken of and would feel what was happening. The public, the collective, more or less listened to them until they reached a breaking. We need to put together a mechanism like the Sanhedrin. We don't have anything similar to it. These new Kabbalists must be really tied to the upper force and not just say they are tied to the upper force, but they will really be tied.

13. S. (36:30) How can a developed individual stay in an undeveloped environment and adhere to the exalted goal?

R. It doesn't matter what height he is. If he is big, he knows how to give birth and show them the path according to their degree.

14. S. (37:04) How do we sustain ourselves in the ten against the external influences?

R. I'm surprised we still have friends that are impressed by what is happening on the outside. How can that be? What is there to be so impressed about? I don't see any outside scrutiny that is respected or anything that would draw me to it. Maybe you see something, but I don't see anything.

15. S. (37:59) Sometimes they say that the collective, the majority in the ten decides. Is that a law according to what we read here?

R. We still need to debate what is correct for us in Bnei Baruch. Each ten together it determines Its behavior, it's state, its place, and goal according to what we learn from the articles. You need to take this Torah that we are in and show that you are operating according to what Rabash writes and accordingly we will receive what you are saying. I will also be happy to receive the direction which is based on the words of the Rabash. I don't have any problem. It's not me, it is Rabash and I have no problem accepting it.

WSQ: What do we need to do in our society with the law of taking after the collective and taking after the individual?
