2. Zohar for All. "Introduction of The Book of Zohar". The Seventh Commandment. #223

Reading item #223, Twice. (00:05) “The Seventh Commandment is to be circumcised after eight days..”

1. S. (05:30) Every soul is born with two angels referring to the other texts that three angels accompany the soul when the point in the heart awakens in her. So how many angels in general are involved in this whole process and how do you advance with those angels that accompany us throughout the process? What is our work with these angels?

R. You can say that they are infinite, there is an infinite number of angels because angel is a force. So every moment, in every situation, in every state, whatever it is, we will have new forces and and in the combinations between them, in their connection, we have all kinds of new states, when they connect and create between them new things each time. And so how many angels are there? There are many angels. I would say an infinite number of angels.

2. S. (06:50) The covenant, is Malchut rewarded with the covenant, with a circumcision, sorry?

R. Those are two degrees a person has to create with his desire so as to stop using his egoistic desires; to cut it from himself. And that part that he cuts from himself, he needs to bury in the sand, in the soil, in the ground and the part that is left he has to fold it correctly, meaning not to use it like the other parts. This is called circumcision and exposing.

S. And if this desire comes back does it mean that he hasn't worked enough on it?

R. No, it is natural that there are additional corrections here. But even if he returns to these actions nevertheless, there won't be like as before because the surplus that he could have sinned with, he now cut that off.

3. S. (08:50) In the Jewish religion, circumcision is done to the male but what is circumcision in spirituality?

R. That is what we are learning, circumcision in spirituality. Also in the Torah, it is written that he should cut a part of your heart, your heart. Meaning our desires that are in order to receive that you can not correct. Those desires we need to cut and sever from us and throw them into the dust, sand.

S. What does it mean that the desires that I cannot change? I have to cut them off from the body?

R. You stop using them. You wish to abstain from them to such a degree that you don't ever use them. You don't form any connection with other people with anything in life through these desires in order to receive.

4. S. (10:50) Turns out that Malchut goes through these eight degrees and only at the end we receive the upper water, MAD. This whole process is a process of correction?

R. In principle yes, it's all part of the process of correction

S. What does it mean to go through all these degrees without the upper water?

R. It's the recognition that these are highly harmful desires because they are for my own sake, for my sake. I can't correct them so that they will be for the sake of others.

5. S. (11:51) What are the desires that I cannot correct?

R. So you cannot correct them yet. Meaning they are such desires in you that if you use them, they will certainly be in order to receive, in order to receive. Hence you refrain from using them. Only after you correct them and place there a restriction on them, that on such conditions or other conditions, you are not using them, and if you have made these corrections you can start using also desires of reception in order to bestow.

S. How can I identify these desires? It seems to me that all of the desires are like that?

R. No, no you will begin to work with them and you will see, you will see.

6. S. (13:20) What does it mean that we cut off a desire so much so that we cannot use it once again, that we simply throw it away to the sand, to the dust? How does that work? What is that?

R. We don't cut off the desire, we cut off only the intention in order to receive that exists on the desire. The desired self of course we'll leave it because we need to correct the desire with the intention in order to bestow and to bring all the desires with the intention to bestow to the end of correction; all those desires. So, what we are doing here is that we simply check which desires do we have with the intention to receive, we sever, cut off part of the desire which has the intention to receive and we correct it it with exposing and Atiphat Amar, which is another correction so we will not be able to use this desire in order to receive, but only in order to bestow.

7. S. (15:12) What is the difference between circumcision and shortening?

R. The difference is first of all in the intention. When I do not use the same intentions, I cut off the intentions rather than the desires in order to receive. That's first. Second thing, is that in addition to doing that for now I am doing it for later when my current will to receive will stop using the intention to receive.

8. S. (16:20) About the correction of those desires that we cannot correct. We learn that the creator is Almighty with respect to the corrections so what is missing here? The forces of the friends, doesn't  He hear our prayer or what?

R. The Creator wants us to attain His purpose, His goal to make us completely equal to Him, like the Creator, free like the Creator. And for us to independently, actively solve all the problems of creation.

S. That we will be His partner's in it?

R. Necessarily, yes.

9. S. (17:30) In 223, it says the Sitra Achra is completely a part of man’s soul. Is there an end to that inclination? How is this possible?

R. Yes, after we've performed a Mitzva, a commandment of multiplication and exposing, by that we completely repel the Sitra Achra from the soul of man, meaning from the lowest degree possible. And from that moment on the lights can expand in those vessels that belong to the degree of the soul of Man. And that's it, that's the correction. It's a great correction.

10. S. (18:58) You said that there is an infinite number of angels. Can we say that these are all of the people outside of the wisdom of Kabbalah?

R. Don't say nonsense and don't invent anything, we don't have any information about it.

11. S. (19:36) At the end of correction will a new general collective soul be born or is the soul of Adam HaRishon upgraded?

R. The soul of Adam HaRishon undergoes an upgrade and then corrects everything. Meaning it corrects everything to such an extent that nothing of Adam HaRishon is left from the very first form; nothing is left for him to have any flaw. Rather everything is corrected and works in order to bestow.

S. In which form is this Partzuf of Adam HaRishon felt in us in the individual soul, in the process that we go through?

R. As much as we can connect everyone, we will feel it.

12. S. (20:45) How do we control the cleanliness of our intention, especially now before the congress?

R. Through the connection with the friends. When we begin to converse, to talk amongst ourselves, to check ourselves against one another. This is the most precise, the best and the most real, real thing that we can realistically do.

13. S. (21:39) The question: actually following the Congress what we heard now is that the desires, everyone has all of the desires on a small scale or a large scale, in all of humanity they are all connected.

R. Because it's one system.

S. If I actually make a correction then I simply correct a small part in the entire system. So I correct the desire for everyone, that same desire?

R. You are correcting a specific desire that is included in all other desires in an integral manner.

14. S. (22:27) Are these additional vessels, do they elevate the desire that was awakened by the light of HaVaYaH, and then create a coupling from above with the strength and the creative force in the middle?

R. Yes, yes.

15. S. (23:00) According to all of the feelings that we have, we are a lot closer to the goal now. So from where do we get, where does the responsibility, the assurance that the person will not use these desires that he needs to correct?

R. This is only up to the Creator; it is not in us.

16. S. (23:31) The man that adds more desires he has to try through the lens of the ten until the ten, until the desires bring him outside the path and does he have to resist, or does he have to purify it, or does the Creator purify the desires through this process?

R. He needs to think nevertheless, how to work with them in such a state where they are all corrected. And then he sees along the way what to do with each and every desire, each and every tendency.

17. S. (24:43) To realize the commandant of circumcision means to cross the barrier?

R. Yes.

18. S. (25:05) The desires of the person they seem to come from a very deep place that he’s not conscious of that, he can't even control it. So how can we work with them? How can we start to isolate them, to understand them?

R. What is that tool or instrument: it's the desire to receive. We don't have any other vessels or tools or instruments and we don't need any. It simply depends on which degree, which level of connection of others they're on and how they are in mutual connection in order to assist one another.

S. Yes but in this inner work of scrutiny of a person, it seems that the desires, they are all mixed up with one another and we don't really know our own desires. It seems to us that we want something but we actually want something else. So what is the angle with which we can penetrate and how can we even start to understand it and put things in order?

R. I don't understand it, how to put it in order?

S. Let's say that this is a desire that's good to work with, this is a desire that's not good to work with or in other words maybe I'm lying to myself. How can I even understand the desire: what is a desire?

R. All this is getting scrutinized in the group. What do we have here that can be confusing? You come to the group, you wish to connect with them as much as you want and you see what you can use and what you cannot use and what, and how much.

S. So it's always with respect to the group: what is good for the group?

R. You have nothing more to check, only this.

S. Most of our desires throughout the day don't even seem to be related to the group in any way.

R. But try to connect them to the group nevertheless, and see how if not directly but indirectly it is a certainty that they belong to it.

S. What is this thing: the desire?

R. A desire is a force that I wish to use this force in order to feel a property.

S. It's a force which is mine or it's a force which is inserted into me?

R. It's your force, you can activate it. This is called payment let's say, you can activate it and then feel and what you are doing you can feel the property.

S. What is this possession?

R. This property or possession is what you wish to conquer.

S. The Creator places a desire in a person so he will necessarily achieve a possession or are there some desires that are..?

R. Yes for him to attain this possession; to acquire the Creator.

S. And then this possession, seemingly, I ascribe some part of the Creator to me and it becomes mine?

R. Yes.

19. S. (29:21) Is it possible to feel or attain the reward in a negative form and if so what do we do about it?

R. A reward negatively, I don't know what it is. What is a negative reward? If you receive something negative and you will feel as a reward then you have turned it into something positive. We learned about this, let's say when a person gets hit, for him it becomes positive because for each and every strike, every blow he receives a thousand gold coins.

20. S. (30:43) This act of circumcision can be related to making a hole in the stony heart? How is the circumcision related to what we call breaking the heart of the friends, the stony heart of the friends?

R. Well in essence it's the same actions, it's just called differently.

S. So these are actually different names for the same action?

R. Yes, connect your heart with the hearts of the friends.

21. S. (31:41) How do you recommend for a ten to help each and every friend throughout the day to cut off from himself the desire which is in order to receive?

R. To ask the Creator for it, ask the Creator, that he will do it, that He, as it is written in the Torah he who will cut this part from the heart, so he can be responsible for the intention in order to receive.

S. There's a feeling that every day that we go through we come to the morning lesson with some pressure, greater demand from humanity: what is our right response as a ten, in the lesson, throughout the day opposite what is being revealed to us?

R. You need to connect your individual demands to one general demand and turn it to the Creator, to help you get rid of the foreskin, and He will cut off a part of the desire that's responsible for the intention in order to receive.

22. S. (34:10) About the reading of The Zohar, I heard you answered one of the questions. All of the words will become clear when they will become thoughts. Can you explain how does that work?

R. I don't remember what exactly we spoke about and what I meant but certainly when the words become thoughts then in the thoughts of something we can already scrutinize. I don't have much else to say.

23. S. (35:15) Can we say that annulment in the ten is also performing the Mitzvah of circumcision?

R. There is something to it, annulment in the ten is a great Mitzvah.

24. S. (36:03) We can feel that the Congress is going to be very strong and very special. How can we prepare for such a thing? We can't really prepare for it, so how can we prepare a vessel for such revelation?

R. The Congress has to be strong. We don't yet know how much power it will reveal and people will come and connect with their hearts in such a way that the inner direction of all the hearts becomes one direction, one trajectory. And I hope in this similar direction we will be able to receive the Creator’s attitude towards us; that's how it will happen.

S. How do we prepare for such a great thing?

R. Constantly to be in it, constantly to search for it, to have questions, to make connections but not mechanically, rather internally from heart to heart, as much as possible and gently.

25. S. (38:15) Do we already have enough forces to choose to scrutinize which desires we can correct and which we cannot correct. Maybe for the time being we shouldn't work with them?

R. Yes we need to understand with which to work and with which to not work and make it for us the desire for connection.

S. And if there are such desires that on the one hand it's impossible to correct them and on the other hand you don't cut them off, then we should work with them, we are forced to work with them. So where can we take the forces to do it?

R. Simply aim the hearts at connection. You don't have to think. We lack the information to check everything properly. We simply need to combine and connect the movement of our hearts and we'll see how the Creator is combining them. We will feel how they are connected, how they work on one another and pull one another.

26. S. (40:04) The biggest fear I have is to disconnect from the ten. Is there anything else I should be concerned about, and if yes what?

R. No, the main thing is not to disconnect from the ten. To be connected to them and all the time with them. I should not have even a single thought of myself, only of them, that's very important. And whatever will happen, will happen and I care about nothing except for whatever happens to me happens to me when I'm in their company.

27. S. (41:18) The Commandment of circumcision in the ten: do we do it once or more closer to the correction we're doing?

R. Usually it's a one-time thing.

S. It's in the ten we do it?

R. Usually a person doesn't know he did or didn't do, it's revealed to him that he didn't do, they're still corrections.

28. S. (41:59) Could I say that the circumcision is in order to build a screen?

R. Of course, yes.

S. Which part of the heart is responsible on the intention and how can I connect to that part in the heart?

R. How else can you connect? Only with the friends, there is no other way.

S. Is that the stony heart? So what's in charge of the intention?

R. What part of the heart is in charge of the intention, the most inner part, if it needs to be answered like that.

29. S. (43:10) The personal perception and the common perception: should that be in the same form or..? Why is there a private perception of reality?

 R. It's a result of the breakage that this is what the Creator has made.

S. And when we go into a general perception, so the individual perception disappears or through the individual you go into the general?

R. The individual perception is included in the general perception.

S. And this perception: it's a desire?

R. This reception is a sensation. This is what a person feels in his desire to receive.

S. And it happens through thought or through a feeling?

R. Everything through the feeling.
