Daily Morning Lesson: November 3, 2025

Part 1: Recorded lesson - Aug 30, 2020

Excerpts from the sources: “Work with Faith Above Reason”. #8

Reader: Hello, friends, we will connect to a lesson from August 2020 on the topic of faith above reason. We'll read selected excerpts. Before we begin watching the lesson, we'll read excerpt number eight from this document. This is a document with excerpts on the topic of the work in faith above reason. We're reading item eight from Baal HaSulam.

Reading: (00:42) 8. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 19. “What Is “The Creator Hates the Bodies,” in the Work?” - Twice

One must not be angry when he has work with the will to receive, that it obstructs him in the work. One would certainly be more satisfied if the will to receive were absent from the body, meaning that it would not bring its questions to a person, obstructing him in the work of observing Torah and Mitzvot [commandments].

However, one should believe that the obstructions of the will to receive in the work come to him from above. One is given the force to discover the will to receive from above because there is room for work precisely when the will to receive awakens.

Then one has close contact with the Creator to help him turn the will to receive to work in order to bestow. One must believe that from this extends contentment to the Creator, from his praying to Him to draw him near in the manner of Dvekut [adhesion], called “equivalence of form,” discerned as the annulment of the will to receive, so it is in order to bestow. The Creator says about this, “My sons defeated Me.” That is, I gave you the will to receive, and you ask Me to give you a desire to bestow instead.

Reader: Again. We'll read again, item 8.

Re-Reading: (02:37) 8. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 19. “What Is “The Creator Hates the Bodies,” in the Work?”

Reader: We'll connect to the lesson.

Question (Chelyabinsk-Omsk): (04:30) You said that we have to reach a feeling as one body in the Ten. The Creator is showing that the friends are sleeping in the lesson, they have no strength. How can we learn to care for the deficiency of the friend?

M. Laitman: Talk between yourselves, talk about it. Try to increase the Hissaron for the goal, the importance of the goal, the importance of the Ten, and advance this way. And  be patient for each other. Really, to try, along with that, to give each one the feeling of a mother and a father, that you are, nonetheless, caring for everyone.

Question (MAK VG2): (05:05) We want to consult with you. We are in a group, in the Ten. We have a WhatsApp group, an emergency group. If a friend feels helplessness, his motivation for the goal drops, he writes in this chat, and the whole group, the whole Ten prays for him. They pray for the whole group to accept it, but are we missing out on something? We're not taking the place to overcome, take an example.

M. Laitman: No, no, no, no, no. One cannot overcome on his own. It's very good that you're doing it together. Each one has to, even though he has a weakness, he has to feel that it's impossible to overcome anything by himself. It's impossible. It's like a baby, when he runs to his mother, wants to go inside her. That's it. That's how we have to enter the Ten. With everything difficult, scary, something not understood - immediately connect to the group. All these deficiencies, bring them to the group.

Student: It's the Creator taking over our state.

M. Laitman: It's for you to go deeper into the group. That's nice. That's correct. Yes, of course, everything is done by the Creator. This is the meaning of, “I've created an inclination,” that every time He creates, each and every moment, He renews creation.

Student: He's truly working here. It's beautiful.

M. Laitman: You understand? Respect Him. He knows his work. You do your share.

Question (Beer Sheva ): (07:34) Where am I getting the strength to build that bridge, the transition from the group to the Creator?

M. Laitman: The connection is something we receive from the connection in the group, and the group from the Creator. Israel, the light, and the Creator are one. Only out of the three, when they connect together, there's connection, and force, and the right intention, the right guidance; and gradually, this is the way you attain the goal. When you constantly examine this connection, and more, and more, and more, until you reach the final point, which is the final correction.

Question (PT 10): (08:40) How do you perform a restriction?

M. Laitman: We're not thinking about restriction now. Restriction, it is on the way. When I already start, well, let's say I'm about to connect to my Ten now, so I want to perform a Tzimtzum, a restriction over all my personal goals. I emphasize, I only increase the goals of connection between us. So, if it's relevant only to me, I put a Tzimtzum over it, I restrict it. I don't erase it, I don't disrespect it. In the meantime, these desires, I don't yet know what to do with them. And these desires awaken on purpose, so that I will restrict them. It's like in a Partzuf, where there is Rosh, Toch and Sof. In the Rosh, there is the decision, in the Toch we decide with what desires we should work, and in the Sof we decide with what desires we mustn't work. That's our restriction.

Student: Do I do it by myself, I ask the Creator for it?

M. Laitman: With the group and with the Creator. We'll work on this in the future. We'll work on it in the future.

Question (CzechSlovak 1): (10:25) What to receive to be good for group, for whole?

M. Laitman: Only the force of correction. Only the force of correction is what we want to receive from above. That's all. The force of correction maybe a force that scrutinizes, and sorts out, and connects the different parts of the Kli. And later, performs restrictions over them, preparations, Zivugim de Hakaa, and an action of revelation of the Creator already in the created being. All this should be done along with the upper force, with the light that brings us the ability to understand, to organize, to correct, the ability to fulfill, to fill. It all comes from above, but we take part in it. This participation gives us adhesion with the Creator. It's like when you start from the Creator takes our hand, like we take the hand of a child helping him to write something or to do something. So by our hand, we lead his hand. And then, bit by bit, he tries to do it on his own. It's exactly the same. That's how we are. So let's organize ourselves in a way that we'll feel that the Creator takes our hand and starts writing the letters of the work with it. That's how it is, exactly. Just as in the corporeal world we are with children.

Question (Focus Group): (12:56) Rav, there are questions that have been collected from the internet. A question from a student from Petah Tikva.

M. Laitman: What are the questions on the internet? Not many questions. Just make it very relevant. Why are they intense, these people? I'm asking the people who are hiding behind the screen. Why don't we see them? Why aren't they connected to a Ten? I don't feel like answering them because they're not organized in Tens, they're not connected, they don't have friends. So what's the benefit here? I understand if they couldn't come physically to the lesson. But now, you have the internet. You have the connection. Why aren't you in connection with other people? And then during the day, you don't connect to them. So why should I answer him? He can't realize what I'm giving him. That's why I don't feel like it. A focus group seems to be a rather redundant thing. If you're not connected in Tens… You know, I'll do it, because still hoping that later they'll see how much their whole advancement is only theoretical. It's false. Or, maybe, they don't want to show themselves, that they're with us. Well, this is something I can understand somehow, these calculations. And I understand that, but still, there is no advancement by these things. Okay, ask, ask.

Question (Focus Group): (14:42) What can we do when we fall into the corporeal will to receive? How can we rise above reason in that state?

M. Laitman: To feel that I am in a physical state and I can rise above it, and not to go into it again, maybe rise again. And to feel this boundary. Where is it? Where is this boundary? It's a very important thing. A very important thing. In every moment of free time, what should I do? Either learn something, listen to a lesson, connect to your friends, or, I don't know, to watch a film or to listen to some nonsense. A person should see where lies his difficulty. And by overcoming this difficulty, he goes to faith above reason.

Question (Focus Group): (15:56) There are friends who are very friendly, very nice. And that evokes rejection all the way down to complete division. How to overcome it?

M. Laitman: That's a form of envy. It's jealousy. It's not building envy, it's ruining. I actually, I remember I was the same. However, if I see today how some friends really want to come closer to connection. I already talked about connection. Even though it's not really in them. It's not so deep, this matter in them. But still, they talk about it all the time. That's good. It's publication for connection. We should try to appreciate it, to talk in the group about appreciation of this tendency towards connection. And then what will occur in the group is also something I can appreciate. Yes, try.

Question (Focus Group): (17:27) The morning lessons, were they always important? Because you reminded earlier that in this time the morning lesson is very important.

M. Laitman: What else is important? What do we have except for the morning lesson? Other lessons, the noon lesson, the evening lesson? I'll tell you, with Rabash, in the morning lessons we had maybe even 30, okay, 20, 25 sometimes students. In the evening lessons, we had five, six or seven. Do you understand? People used to work. Because he required everyone to work. There is no such a thing that a person will not work. You're not working, go to work. You don't have a job, work without any salary. Let's say, you have a rich grandma, she'll give you the money. Or there are no jobs out there, so work without a salary. You have to invest at least six hours a day, at least six hours a day in some kind of work for the public. Getting money for it or not getting money is a whole different matter. It has nothing to do with the work, with the exertion. Your exertion should be with respect to this world, doing something for humanity, with or without corporeal salary. And the exertion should also be in spirituality, for the Creator. There, all your salary is doing the work itself, without any other salary, any other reward.

Question (Focus Group): (19:27) And you said earlier that in every free moment, I have to think what to do. The person has two options for what to do. First is to perform an action that leads to connection, or repeat the lesson and read together with friends, or go into dissemination, write and disseminate. It's very difficult to scrutinize what to do.

M. Laitman: I understand you have this dilemma as well. Sometimes you have a face this way or that way. A face means an important thing. So I can't say. Sometimes the times are this way and sometimes they are differently. Try to scrutinize what's important.

Student: Should I go more in the direction of what I don't feel like doing? Look for the resistance?

M. Laitman: That's also possible as an examination. And also consult with your friends. And look what comes to your hand. What's more safe? What's faster to do for humanity, for the correction? I can't say. Sometimes, and also we can't always disseminate. So try.

Question (Tel Aviv 2): (21:01) What is bad envy? Is that envy also good if it advances the person?

M. Laitman: Bad envy is when you want a friend to fall off of his attainments. And then you won't have envy and you won't feel pain. And good envy is when you're thankful to the Creator for making this great friend in your eyes. And you also want to be like him. Meaning, bad envy is when you want to bring your friend down. And good envy is when you want to rise to the degree of your friend.

Question (PT 29): (21:53) A person has to believe that it's a will to receive that drives him to work. And this comes to him from above. The question is, why is the emphasis that this is how you need to believe it?

M. Laitman: Because where does he know from? All the will to receive comes from above. And especially the will to receive that all of a sudden pulls him in different directions to have some fun, to rest too much, or something. It all comes from the Creator. That's why we're dealing with the Creator, always, always. He always, always governs our will to receive. And we have to feel that in the will to receive that's where the force of the Creator lies. And through the will to receive, He always talks to me. And I want to talk to Him in my will to bestow. And then we build the two lines, and then we complement each other in the middle line.

Question (United VG 4): (23:25) How can I prevent the fall of the Ten? What kind of spiritual vitamins have to strengthen the Ten?

M. Laitman: We can't stop the descent. We needn't worry about not falling. We needn't worry about that, not even think about it. We need to think only about ascending. In this way, we keep ourselves from falling. And still we will fall. As it is written, a righteous falls a thousand times and rises. But there is no choice, this is how we advance.

Question (MAK VG 3): (24:22) There is a feeling that we can and want to advance a lot quicker. Can we start practicing the degrees of Nefesh and Ruach when we have 24,000 students in the lesson?

M. Laitman: No, no, no, no. It's unrelated. It's unrelated to the number of people. Don't start counting, that's nonsense. It could be one Ten, and in it I achieve the end of correction. You still don't know what spirituality is, how it's divided and how it grows. So don't pay attention to these things. The main thing is connection. That's it. The more concentrated it is, focused in terms of power, and the more expansive it is on the surface, on the area, this is what we need.

Question (Moscow 6): (25:51) If a desire awakens in me to be similar to Rav, is that good envy or bad envy? Or should I be concerned of connection in the friends?

M. Laitman: It's better to think about the unity in the Ten and the revelation of the Creator. And about resembling the Creator with the quality of bestowal. And Rav, the teacher, is like a guide. He's guiding you from a side. I want you to be more and more independent and less and less dependent on me. But not doing something outside of what we are talking.

Question (Haifa 3): (26:49) Today you gave a great extent of light. And in the end, you got to this question of how to use this light correctly today. How to use it for the Ten?

M. Laitman: If you understand what the Rav should be, the Rav should be the guide who is leading you toward connection in the group and with the Creator. And he stands aside, like an instructor, a guide, or a coach in a sports team, like a soccer team. They listen to what he says, they do what he says, but he doesn't play with them. He just oversees and manages from aside. That's his role until they make it. Because we're still looking at the Rav's body. But afterwards, the Rav will not be present, and you will continue on your own. You will have groups that are connected. There will be a connection between you. And you will begin to go more and more according to the same path, the same direction that the Rav taught you, toward connection and the Creator. That's it. Aim only one thing - Israel, the Torah and the Creator are one. It'll happen; we are on our way.

Question (Tel Aviv 2): (28:38) Can there be a state that one Ten will bring a correction for all of Israel and the world?

M. Laitman: Of course, yes.

Student: So why isn't it happening? There's not even one Ten between everyone that are working correctly?

M. Laitman: First of all, maybe there isn't. And second, the Creator wants not one Ten.  He wants several. I don't make calculations, and I'm not going to tell you.

Question (Moscow 7): (29:23) You said today in the lesson that every Ten were put together from above to complete each other. The question is in what do we complete each other and in what do we connect each other?

M. Laitman: We have to learn the Zivugim of the Sefirot. It's pretty advanced material in TES, but when we learn how the Partzufim are built, how the Sefirot are interconnected, how each Sefira, as it performs an act of bestowal, it puts on itself the Tzimtzum, the Masach, and the Ohr Hozer, and operates through the rest of the Sefirot from below upward, and then receives a light from above downward. So there is Hitkalilut, there is the mingling among everyone. This we will have to learn and do in practice among us. How do Kabbalists write about these things? Because they attained, and through their attainment, their feeling of how it happens, according to the connection of light and Kli, this is what they write for us. And we will discover it among us, and we will see, and then what we will read in TES, for example, we will feel it among us, how it works in our desires, in our common desire.

Question (Heb 10): (31:13) A moment ago, you explained one of the scariest states for someone trying to be a student. The state where Rav, where his body passes, and we have to continue alone. And you said that groups have to be connected, there has to be a connection between you.

M. Laitman: First of all, Israel is not alone. We are under the guidance of the upper force, and as it arranges us, as me being the Rav, you being the students, He connected us, He brought us to a certain state. So going forward, let's hope it will be the same way, too. So we needn't think about that, but only continue from day to day, as much as we can, to make room for the Creator to be revealed through the connection. And think only about that, and not about any of these calculations about those who live, those who die, those who are in this world. That's not a problem. Don't worry. It all depends on how much we carry out the states that we must do. It's like The ARI said to, who was it? The one who was next to him.

Student: Chaim Vital?

M. Laitman: Not Chaim Vital. It was, when he told him, before he passed away, he said, I am passing away because you don't need me. I don't remember what his name was, the student who was next to him at the time. That's it. So it all happens according to the spiritual state. So, don't worry. Don't worry. Whatever we need, just let go completely of these thoughts. We have to work above reason. That's it. We are in one Kli, eternal Kli. We have to discover its eternity and the connection among all the parts, and that's it. What's the question here? You don't need to pray for me to stay here with you. That state is the worst state. Why should I be in the lowest of the worlds?

Student: That's clear. God forbid, we don't want to wish you such a thing. But on one hand, we hear not to calculate, not to deal with it. On the other hand, we do have to be prepared.

M. Laitman: Ready? Advance toward the Creator. That's the preparation. There's nothing else. Just advance toward the Creator.

Student: Just a friend wrote here that it was Rav Itzhak HaCohen. The guy that was…

M. Laitman: Yes, right. Itzhak HaCohen, he was next to The ARI, and then The ARI told him that. Find the story, that short story, and read it. It's good.

Question (Tbilisi): (35:01) In our Ten, most of us were working in tourism, and now we don't have work. What should we do about that?

M. Laitman: I understand that it's a problem with jobs, especially in Georgia, which relied on tourism, and now there are no jobs there.  It's a big problem. There's nothing I can tell you. We need to understand one thing. The coronavirus will be canceled only if we cancel our mutual rejection. The world has to come to connection. If we advance toward connection, everything will be healthier, and everything will return. Not return, but progress to good states, where once again, we will travel and fly and travel all over the world. If we don't become more and more connected, we will not come to the development of tourism or any kind of development. You'll see what will happen. Humanity thinks that soon it will be over and everything will return. And I can tell them they won't listen to me - not governments, not business owners, big companies - no one will listen. But it will not be good again by itself. We're waiting for time to pass, and everything will return to the way it was before. It will not return, only to the extent that we get closer to each other, even physically, a little more. Only in this way will we see a better life, healthier life. And until then, everything will go more and more toward shattering, toward collapse. More people will be unemployed. Businesses will close. People will sit at home. There will barely be money to buy food. Children, because of the virus, that is now on especially is manifesting in young kids, so kids will have to study through the internet. Everything will freeze more and more. It won't help us to kind of play games as if it's passing, and every government is interested in that in order to show itself as if everything is opening up and is thriving. Otherwise, how can it justify its governance? But it won't get any better. The thing is that we are in the last generation. It is a period that has started a few years ago, especially, from about 2010, even 2015 or 2016, and now it is manifesting in practice. This period will continue until the end of correction. Its calculation follows only the level of people's rapprochement, approaching toward each other. If people don't get closer favorably, then life will not be better. Only to the extent that we get closer to each other will life be more pleasant, easy, good. There will be more food, more possibilities to fly for entertainment. It will be everything, but only if we open our hearts more and more. And you know who is responsible for opening the hearts of humanity. You. You.You. Therefore, we need to open up this matter to everyone.

Question (MAK VG 4): (40:07) From every action and desire, you can build a right intention?

M. Laitman: If you do it together with the friends, then your intentions and desires will be directed correctly. Only together in a Ten. And then there's no question about it. Do it in a Ten. Even if you make a mistake, the Creator will fix it. You could say, we're all egoists. Now we unite. We decide together. If you decide together, you build a wall. It's called “a desolate city cannot be destroyed.” And in your connection - even if it's wrong and egoistic but you want to achieve the goal, you want to be connected, that's it - the Creator will do the job. Don't be afraid.

Question (Baltia 1): (41:14) Man wants to enjoy corporeality. On the other hand, he wants to invest in spirituality.

M. Laitman: We have to be connected among us in order to give us both physical existence and spiritual existence. It is written about it, if there is no flour, there is no Torah, meaning there has to be flour for bread. And then there can be Torah as well. If there is no flour, there is no Torah. This is why we have to see to both corporeal life and spiritual life among us and with the whole world to try, more and more, through connection to bring the spirit. And then it'll be okay. Well, what are we going to do? Why don't we read again excerpt number 8?

Reader: Number 8? Rav, I just want to tell everybody that what you said to read about ARI, The ARI's story, it's in the letter by Baal HaSulam 39.

M. Laitman: Why don't we read it?

Reader: Okay, I can read it. So, Letter 39 by Baal HaSulam.

Reading: (42:47) Baal HaSulam. Letter No. 39

And he wrote some more there (Gate 8, p 71), that at the time of his passing, Rav Chaim Vital was not by his side [The ARI’s]. These are his words verbatim: “Rav Itzhak HaCohen told me that at the time of my teacher’s passing, when I came out of his room, he (Rav Itzhak HaCohen) entered and cried before him saying, ‘Is this the hope that we all hoped in your life—to see great good, Torah, and wisdom in the world?’ He replied to him, ‘If I found even one complete righteous among you, I would not be taken away prematurely.’ While saying it, he asked about me (about Rav Chaim Vital). He said, ‘Where did Chaim go? Has he left me at such a time?’ He was very saddened. He understood from his words that he had some secret to pass on to me, so he (Rav Itzhak HaCohen) said to him, ‘What shall we do from now on?’ He (The ARI) replied: ‘Tell the friends in my name that from this day on they are not to engage at all in this wisdom that I taught, for they did not understand it properly. Only Rav Chaim Vital shall engage in it, alone, in a whisper, and in hiding.’ He (Rav Itzhak HaCohen) said, ‘But is there no hope at all?’ He said, ‘If you merit, I will come to you and teach you.’ He replied to him, ‘How will you come and teach us if you are now departing from this world?’ He replied, ‘You have no knowledge of the concealed, of how my coming to you will be,’ and he promptly passed away.”

M. Laitman: In other words, we needn't think about the future. If we are connected, the guidance will come from above, and it doesn't matter how, and then you will continue. Just continue on the same path. Why are we talking about it today? I don't know. Maybe it's because of my birthday? All right.

Question (PT 10): (45:30) I heard you say that the calculation with humanity is according to the closeness between people. It's not that they want to come closer, but they understand that they're not close, and they need to. Is that the way?

M. Laitman: That's the Creator's calculation, of course, because we have to return to the form of Adam HaRishon prior to the sin, and with all of our will to receive that's been revealed, we have to return to the form of the Kli prior to the sin, but with the intensified will to receive.

Student: Humanity understands that they're not in good relations, and still they will search for ways to come to good relations, that it's not in the desire, but they have to reach it?

M. Laitman: Yes, we have to come to it. Let's say that today humanity hears that if we want to get rid of the coronavirus, just from the disease, we have to get closer to each other in this or that quality. Not curse, not murder, not do harm to others in this brutal, blunt way. And then the coronavirus passes, and no other viruses come. Afterwards, we want our previous businesses to come back, to survive, to exist. So there's a condition. If we open up our businesses, not completely, but a little bit, it's got to be in favor of the clients, of people. And then other such things: schools reopen, all kinds of operations of the public, on condition that people relate to one another favorably, positively. In other words, if this happens in a way that brings people to the right connection, which, all in all, acts of spirituality, not the corporeal matter, but it acts of spirituality in the right way, then of course, we will see success in this. And if not, it'll only get worse. It'll only get worse. They're just sitting and waiting, all those governments, for something to happen soon, and there's something to happen soon. Nothing will happen. It'll only get worse. But in such a way that people will gradually understand, however long it takes, until they see that there is a negative trajectory here, and there's nothing you can do. And they'll begin to get used to the fact that there's no choice. Businesses will close down. Humanity will begin to collapse, and they'll start building themselves, not with the intellect, with the understanding that they have to build themselves favorably and in a good way for everyone, but by having poverty and problems and wars. And all because of the lack of understanding of the process we're going through. So let's hope we will be able to explain what's the direction and how we can mitigate it. And in relation to what The ARI said, if you want to ask, go ahead.

Reader: We have another quote that the friend sent about what you said. His hands are up to the Creator. So, from the Rabash concerning Enika and Ibur.

Reading: (49:51) RABASH. Article No. 31, 1986. Concerning Yenika [Suckling] and Ibur [Impregnation]

It turns out that to all the questions that come up in his mind he says that he is going above reason, and that now he is going with eyes shut and only with faith. It is as Baal HaSulam said about the verse (Psalms, 68:32): “Kush shall run to stretch out her hands to God.” He said that if one can say, “Kush,” meaning that his Kushiot [questions] are answers, it means that he does not need answers, but the question itself gives him the answer. That is, he says that now that he has a question he can go above reason. Then, “his hands are to God,” meaning that then his hands, namely his vessels of reception—from the words, “Should a hand attain”—then a person is regarded as whole, with God.

M. Laitman: So beautiful. How all of a sudden it becomes clear that we can work. We've got what to do. We've got groups. We've got an organization. We are connected together. We can really help each other. And what's missing? Only to turn to the Creator from our connection.

Question (Heb 10): (51:27) So I still have to ask about what we read about The ARI. It sounds like a very bad state that the students have got to that. The teacher has to leave them without...

M. Laitman: Look, I don't know, and we mustn't say anything bad about his disciples. They were dedicated students. But because of the time, we don't exactly know what the situation was. But we see that this is what happened. Why didn't they achieve a situation where he could stay alive? I don't know. But that's what he said. I'm not going to check it and compare myself to their states, in which I don't understand. They were all people who were... You know, after all, they were disciples of The ARI. It's no joke. There weren't a lot of people like that. We read how they studied, how they tried to build for themselves a method of connection. It's a canon, a constitution. It's not simple. I relate to these things. I always relate to these things. You know, Rabbah taught me, relate to these things that you see as it's a game being played on you. What is serious is how you should respond to it. And what is in front of you is a Creator who is playing with you. You see The ARI group like this, or you see the friends in this way, or your teacher in that way. It doesn't matter.  It's a game. It is a game. But what do you get out of it? You learn from this method how to turn to the teacher, how to turn to the friends, and through them to the Creator. That's what's important. Hold on to that. Everything else, have eyes and do not see. Don't believe what you see. This is all the Creator playing with you. And it can give you such confusions that only afterwards you'll discover how, what a big cheat He is, what a big liar He is. The worst there is. All the bad in the world He created in such a way, so we have to see how we behave in this way.

Student: That's clear. You stated that it's not clear why we're speaking about it, and maybe it's your birthday.

M. Laitman: No, no, I was kidding. I was kidding. Birthday, it is mentioned in the Torah once. Only once, and it says today is Pharaoh's birthday, you understand? Pharaoh's birthday, you understand? Out of the whole world, Pharaoh, the egoistic will to receive, is the only one who, how should I put it? Who has a big birthday for himself. He celebrates his birthday. We don't celebrate birthdays. To little kids up to age, what, maybe up to bar Mitzvah, up to 13, even less than that, five, six. So we do, we give him a birthday party, but afterwards, no. It's not customary. Why? What's to celebrate? That you're an egoist and you were born into this world, then do what you have to do and that's it? Why are you celebrating? That another egoistic form manifested in the world? So do a correction. We don't celebrate birthdays. So I was just kidding.

Question (Bulgaria): (56:01) After the connection in the Ten, when the Creator… After the Creator united the Ten, what should be the general plea? Gratitude or something else?

M. Laitman: What we need is to thank the Creator for the connection between us. That we can, out of the Ten, out of the connection between us, we can thank Him for the connection and ask Him for the connection to be in practice, to be real, so that we can, out of the connection, we'll be able to bestow, so that in the connection, we'll be able to feel Him, that it's not we who are giving; and constantly be in this. Me, connection Creator, me, connection Creator. Why do I need to still mention myself? Because out of this, I elevate, I enhance, I increase the connection. That's the way it is.

Question (Latin 4): (57:32) A few days, you mentioned the topic or actions that are prohibited, that in the Kabbalah are not accepted. And it should be important that maybe we should dedicate the lesson to scrutinize maybe things that we shouldn't do, that don't help the connection.

M. Laitman: No, we shouldn't. We have to learn what we have to do, and what not to do - we don't learn it. Anything that does not cause connection between us and between us and the Creator, everything else for us is corporeal things that we must maybe do in order to sustain our beast. And then you have to look at your beast and see how much it needs to eat, how much it needs to sleep, and that's it. You have to dress it, you have to put it to sleep, you have to wash it, just like a beast. That's how you should relate to your body. Whatever it needs, as if you've got a donkey living next to you and you have to tend to it. So in order to live, you have to give the donkey some treatment, some tending to. That's how you should relate to your body. And everything else goes toward connection. The connection of Israel, meaning you, the Torah, which is the light that is revealed in the connection, in the Ten, and the Creator. That's it. We don't learn about negative things in the wisdom of Kabbalah, ever. We don't want to touch the will to receive. Not to let it speak and argue that this is fine and it's not fine. We don't talk about what's forbidden. This is called external Torah, external teachings, the externality of the Torah. This is taught elsewhere. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, we learn only about connection. And besides connection, it's all wrong for us, disqualified. We just push it away from us and that's it. And everything, all the other religions and belief systems that other people engage in, there it's the opposite. This is forbidden, that's forbidden, and that's forbidden. They only talk about what's forbidden. And we don't talk about what's forbidden. We're saying other than what's permitted, what brings about connection, everything else is wrong.

Question (USA Midwest): (01:00:50) One question made of two complementary halves. First of all, how important is the role of the Shatz in order to connect the friends?

M. Laitman: The Shatz has to awaken the Ten to pray. That's it. He doesn't know exactly what to pray for or how to pray. He doesn't have to be more than the friends. He needs to awaken them to prayer. That's his main role. That's called Shatz, the messenger of the public. He awakens them to the connection to pray and to the Creator, to bring them to the Creator. So every day it has to be someone else, a different person, and he needs to feel that that is his role. And in that day he has to be immersed in it and constantly give him that importance of connection and prayer.

Question (Zichron 2): (01:01:55) You said before that you'd really like to see the Tens more independent. How is their independence expressed?

M. Laitman: Independence is expressed by them feeling themselves as a full collection that they don't take away or add anything to them, but they feel themselves whole. And all they're lacking is the connection with the Creator, and they're willing to raise a deficiency to the Creator from their mutual heart and demand that the Creator will answer them. That is the correct plea from the correct Ten to the correct Creator. And that's it.

Question (PT 31): (01:03:06) Regarding the depiction you made about the future, it doesn't seem so bright.

M. Laitman: Why not? If we take care of everything we have in current events that are being revealed, then we will really advance in a great way. And if we don't, so we'll see in all these things that they are being revealed as negative and awakening us to the good. We can't advance from one force. There has to be two. One pulls and one pushes from behind. If you aren’t drawn from ahead on your own, so the same moment comes a force from behind and pushes you ahead. And these two forces come from the Creator, and these two forces aim you towards a goal, and to be to advance by some force. That is our choice. So choose.

Student: On a practical level, I wanted to ask if we now come to every lesson as if it's a congress. We make a challenge on ourselves that we come yearning and burning just like a congress. Will that make a difference in the situation?

M. Laitman: Of course it will. You don't need anything else, of course. It'll be in your eyes as new every day.

Student: Yes, but you described before, you said that humanity has to get closer to each other and all that kind of stuff.

M. Laitman: That's under the condition that it deteriorates, that it keeps going down. You see how they're thinking, it'll end in a minute, it'll end in a second, it's going to be good. And for now, from day to day, things are crumbling. They don't even want to mention it because the governments are afraid that then they'll slap them in the face and just knock them down. Why do I need a government, that from day to day I feel worse? Usually you make revolutions, you turn things over, that's what they do. Even if they don't know what, but you see how there're people who want to jump and take charge. You see? Let me drive, let me drive. Everyone wants to hold the steering wheel. Why? There's control and money in it.

Student: So when you say that we've got the key, you're saying practically that if we come to the lesson and with a strong demand, just like in the Congress, we will see a change immediately?

M. Laitman: Yes, we have to see the changes from day to day and changes for the good. That we see it for the good. Humanity might not be able to see that, because they'll start relaxing. And we also, if we start relaxing, calming down from like a good appearance in our eyes in the world, we will also see advancement. And also now we're advancing and advancing not bad, let's say. We can always add, but we have to add, we have to add. We're advancing, but it's not enough. It's not enough. We need from day to day to reach a state that we are discovering a stronger connection with the Creator, that we discover even more and more that He's already with us, between us, that we feel that there's a force connecting us. And obviously, every day we're starting with another greater darkness and correcting it to greater light.

Question (Moscow 6): (01:07:22) Today, the Moscow group is gathering for a picnic. Can we invite you?

M. Laitman: Yes, they wrote me about it. The women wrote me about it, and other women. The men don't write. They don't invite me. It's not that I'm expecting it and waiting for it. Obviously not. And I don't need to be there. This is something that is social. And if I come in there, I break it. It's not good. What can you do? If I'll be there, it'll be crooked. That's why you have a great picnic. Connect carefully. Do it in a way that still the main thing should be intentions in a connection, with the distance. Try it. Try this. Try that. I hope it'll bring good to all of us. That's it.

Question (Qazaqstan): (01:09:02) You said the right Ten and the right Creator. Can you explain what the right Creator means?

M. Laitman: Creator isn't something ideal. Creator isn't something universal, something upper and exalted. Creator is, first of all, called “come and see.” It's two words: come and see, Bo-U-Reh. “Bo” means come, get closer, and “Reh” means look, reveal. Meaning, as much as we come closer to this upper concept, we can see Him, know Him, and feel Him. It's all towards a person attaining. That's why, towards the one - it's this way, towards the other - it's that way; and nobody can compare his Creator with some other one's Creator.

Reader: Excerpt number eight. From Baal HaSulam, Shamati  19.

Reading: (01:10:33) Shamati. 19. What Is “The Creator Hates the Bodies,” in the Work?

As we have said, one must not be angry when he has work with the will to receive, that it obstructs him in the work.

M. Laitman: Yes, we can speak about this one for a lot. Well, we'll see.

Question (Tel Aviv 2): (01:12:22) Regarding duties of Shatz and other such things. Let's say, a friend wants to be Shatz on Monday, and I want to be Shatz on Monday too. By kind of giving up, letting him be there, is it an act of bestowal?

M. Laitman: Obviously, that's also kind of an act of bestowal.

Student: What should be the intention or request?

M. Laitman: That you're doing a favor for a friend, you want to give him good.

Student: But I could do it out of pity too.

M. Laitman: It doesn't matter why. Are you doing him something good? Your reasons, later on you'll discover as much as they're pure or not from your ego. But the fact that you performed an action physically, that you conceded, that you gave up on something for him, that's already an action of bestowal. That's it. It's worth it.
