Part 1:

Rabash. Article No. 3, 1989. What Is the Difference between the Gate of Tears and the Rest of the Gates?

1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:33) Indeed this is something very special that continues this subject of prayer, requests that only through that we can be rewarded with the Creator opening up for us the entrance to the upper world and all of the gates in it. So let's see what else we need to do in order to enter the upper world.

Reading Article (01:08) “Our sages, said Rabbi Elazar said,..”

2. S. (27:41) Where's the line between making an effort and prayer? Because we also say a person should do whatever he can so there's a state, let's say, of necessities and we need to first do the maximum we can and only then pray, where's this boundary?

R. I don't think that a person can say in advance but rather we need to check all the time whether our prayer is from the bottom of the heart so that all of our desires are aimed to the Creator, that we want to reach adhesion with Him and this is what we pray for.

S. He writes in the article prayer for necessities and prayer for luxuries?

R. Well a person determines that.

S. Let's say a person who doesn't have a job it's a necessary state you have to have one, so you also have to make an effort and look for one and do many things, and then in the end, when do you start praying? After he has done everything that he could in his own strength, then he comes to the prayer of helplessness or he has to pray from the beginning?

R. It's about how the person thinks about the way that it should be. One is to reach the feeling of necessity, that what I want to achieve, to attain this necessary for me that's one, and second by what can I achieve what I must have? What is the order by which I can achieve, what is desire?

S. At the end of that, the prayer has to come or there has to be away throughout the journey?

R. Well maybe from the beginning until the end I want something to accompany my desires, my necessity with a prayer. We need to feel all of this, we need to decide.

S. In the end the scrutiny has to be if that desire is a necessity or luxury, that's where the scrutiny starts, yes?

R. Yes.

3. S. (30:43) He writes the first prayer of a person is that the Creator will let him know what he truly needs to ask for. Accordingly, I think that many times, that I skip this step, this is what I feel, that immediately we are asking let us bestow to the friends, give us the ability to connect in the ten, to bring you contentment etc. So 99% of the time that's the kind of prayer we bring to the table and it looks like we are skipping the stage of, wait a minute, what are we missing, what's incorrect within us, how do we turn to the Creator to ask Him to show me what is not corrected within me, what am I truly lacking?

R. Well, a person should feel that this is truly his deficiency that he wants to know what he's truly lacking in order to reach being near to the Creator; to be connected with Him.

S. Okay, so let's say I extract this prayer from the heart where the ten is asking for that. When are we ready for the next stage of the prayer where we understand what we are missing for?

R. Well, when we already know that this is specifically what we miss, what we need, that we have a connection with the Creator, we have achieved that to some extent and what next, meaning I can already ask?

S. Again the ten starts as a clean state and in the morning we asked from the Creator to let us know what we actually like, so then we know what to ask for. Now we understand this is our direction, what's happening now, how long do we stay in that, how many states do we need to go through?

R. Until we feel a true deficiency.

S. When does it happen?

R. When the Creator gives that.

S. We wait until the Creator gives?

R. No, we don't wait for that, we ask, we demand, we cry.

S. How many of that the first stage regardless of wanting to bestow to the friends and so forth?

R. That's the main thing and if it is necessary. I want to know what is the most important request that should emerge from me towards the Creator. That's it, meaning we also need to pray for it that we will have more to pray for. It is called the prayer before the prayer.

S. It's very clear what's not so clear. What's a bit vague is how long are you in that?

R. There's no measure for it.

S. How do you know that you are not losing time?

R. Until you get the clear feeling that this is precisely what you like and this is what I have to pray for otherwise I won't get it.

S. What is a clear knowing in the ten?

R. That each one and everyone together it is clear for us what it is that we lack in order to reach the purpose of creation.

S. But it's not happening that this is what everyone knows, it is always fake at least in my feeling it's always this kind of feeling?

R. This means that you are given an opportunity to add by yourself. Here there has to be a longing of your own that you are searching that you are asking that you want that the Creator will complete it for you that he will explain it to you, yes.

4. S. (35:12) This scrutiny of what we like, does it need to be before the lesson before our meeting or after?

R. Well, you should decide according to the matter.

S. Many times when we finish the lesson we raise a deficiency to pray to the Creator, to raise a prayer and I find myself just saying, it doesn't come from the heart, I am saying because we are always talking about it. Now, what determines the true deficiency that I am now in the lesson? What will make me ask correctly for this deficiency?

R. It's that I scrutinize my deficiencies and I want to find in my deficiencies what is the primary deficiency.

S. When I am now in the lesson I always do these scrutinies and what do I really lack when I hear the lesson?

R. Indeed during the lesson, yes.

S. Then I bring that to the ten at the end of the lesson?

R. Yes.

5. S. (36:45) A Ten that learns how to set up the prayer it saves the locked gates or are we going to go through all the gates anyway and then we will be able to have a prayer?

R. I don't know about the number of gates. I don't know what the gates are. I don't see them. I don't quite discover them before me but rather I need to do what they recommend that I do. That's it.

6. S. (37:31) He also adds the issue here that he also says that a person feels that he's in fear and wholeness and does all the deeds meticulously and then he prays for luxuries but he who prays to just be a simple Jew and not a wise disciple and not immersed in self- love then he comes to see that the gate is locked. The question is: if he gives us here some advice if a person feels some pride in the work or … ?

R. He wants to be a simple Jew. A jew is one who has the goal of being in unification with the Creator. It doesn't depend on nationality or anything, this is already clear to us. Therefore, this is what he's asking for. I want to reach adhesion. This is called to be a Jew.

S. What is a simple Jew?

R. Simple means that this is the only thing that I want without all of the additions and wise stuff?

S. But he has additions and supplements he teaches and disseminates?

R. This is all specifically in order to scrutinize the truth.

7. S. (29:02) What is a whole person?

R. I don't know.

S. It says here that I have to feel a deficiency to be whole, so what is a whole person?

R. A whole person is one who is in adhesion with the Creator.

S. Again I have to fill this deficiency each and every moment?

R. Well, it's desirable to reach that but of course it is good that a person is constantly living out of the deficiency that he has a lack for wholeness, meaning adhesion with the Creator.

8. S. (39:56) About the example of the rabbi who cries for the diamond ring for his wife. So he knows what he likes. It's his true deficiency that he needs a diamond ring for his wife?

R. Okay, so all the true deficiencies we have to fill them?

S. I don't know about fulfilling but first of all in terms of scrutinizing the deficiency, he doesn't lack that he knows what he wants?

R. Well, the greatest deficiency is in a little child who sees some toy that another child has and then he erupts and he screams. This is a true deficiency.

S. How to make it so that in my heart there will be such a deficiency like the child or the rabbi who needs a diamond ring but for adhesion with the Creator? How to upgrade my deficiencies?

R. You need to be in an environment that values adhesion with the Creator, that it knows somehow how to express it and this for it is the most precious thing. Then you are impressed by this society and you are willing to pay for such a deficiency whatever they ask for.

9. S. (41:43) Do I need to feel that I lack bestowal and then ask or do I need to ask for bestowal even though I don't feel a need?

R. We need to ask for the purpose of creation, the purpose of life, the true life, that the Kabbalists tell us about even though we have no need for it.

S. This is how a correct prayer is gradually clarified in me?

R. Yes, this is how I awaken things. This is called how I come from Lo Lishma to Lishma.

S. What in our work is considered a necessity, a prayer?

R. An essential prayer, a prayer for necessity means that a person cannot live without this that he must have it.

S. But such a prayer that will advance me towards the goal. What's a necessary prayer that will advance me?

R. That I, with all my force, want to be incorporated in the center of my ten and be with them in a full connection.

S. What can aim our prayer towards necessities and not luxuries?

R. That we scrutinize the deficiency of the ten and we see that we reach the determination of the correct deficiency for everyone as one and we check how much we are able to raise this deficiency of ours and direct it to the Creator.

10. S. (43:32) He first asks for the others in that example and then he asks for himself?

R. I didn't quite understand what you are asking?

S. In this whole article at first, this Rabbi asked for the others and then he asked for his wife. He gave these complicated explanations of how to build a prayer but he didn't give this argument, so what can you understand?

R. I don't understand your question. When he asks for his wife and he cries, he is asking for himself maybe but well, we have requests that are necessary for us that we come to the Creator for correction, so that's the first question of a simple person. So let's say, yes, then there are requests where we see they are aimed in a straight line towards the purpose of creation and this is for our correction in the group, coming closer between us, adhesion and then we are already on a straight line.

S. We can say then it's all within one person?

R. Yes.

11. S. (46:05) He says here that we need to ask of the Creator that he will show us the right request. Is there a difference between looking within me and then aiming that rather than aiming that towards the Creator and asking Him?

R. Yes, there is a difference between the fact that I can open myself up and see all kinds of deficiencies inside of me and I raise them and I aim them to the Creator, but it's a question is it correct, whereas if we ask of the Creator for the deficiency that he will help us that he will give us the right deficiency then by that already I am certain that I am aiming myself according to how I need to be and according to what the Creator intends for me.

12. S. (47:26) What does it mean to reach the complete connection in the ten?

R. That we all feel that we lack one thing for all of us, that together we can ask for it, and that we know how to do it.

S. What does it mean that we know how to do it?

R. That we know how to connect between us and how to combine together the individual deficiencies into one collective deficiency

S. From all the personal deficiencies we come to a single urgency that we want to be in adhesion

R. Yes and this urgency includes within it also the desire from the side of the creator

13. S. (48:36) Is opening the gate of tears the correction of the stony heart?

R. No, it's unrelated.

14. S. (48:53) You said that or wrote that the wholeness in the ten is everyone is asking the one thing that everyone lacks, if the ten is trying again and again to look for the one thing that everyone lacks and we can't find that, what can we do?

R. Continue to work continue to work, continue to search continue to connect until it will become more clear

S. We even discovered that when we look for something it becomes in even a separation between us

R. What to do?

S. To not be afraid of it, and to keep searching.

R. The way to advance is to connect more and more advanced elements.

15. S. (49:46) If a friend lacks something in the ten and says, it's very easy to ask but if he says what he lacks is bestowal to the Creator no one believes him, so how can we get there?

R. I don't think that no one else will want to connect to it but rather there are those who feel that it is something necessary and there are those in whom it doesn't exist in the center of their thought and emotion, their mind and heart but rather somehow and we need to work on it. We need to work on it, there is no other way.

16. S. (50:50) He writes here therefore the first.prayer of the person is at the Creator will let him know what he truly lacks in order to know what to ask for, so please help me understand what is this the first prayer. Why is that the first prayer?

R. That this is first, and this is what I lack, to know what the Creator wants for me, what he wants to see me do.

S. According to the order of the work, is there a point in engaging in anything else except for this first prayer, unless I already understand what the first prayer is?

R. If you attained it then go forward.

S. Then if I didn't attain it?

R. Then do that.

S. Only that?

R. Yes

S. Then is the prayer necessary? That's what I heard before that a person cannot live without it. How do we reach it and how to make it that this first prayer I will feel is so necessary?

R. Ask and ask until you feel that this is what I truly lack and not what I imagined before that maybe I locked this or that, and this is how you come to the real deficiency

S. Why does he write about knowing in the first prayer so that he will know and not feel, it could be that the Creator would make him feel so that he can feel what to ask for but here he writes that he will only know what to ask for why is that?

R. Because that's what a person is asking and looking for this is what a person is looking for.

17. S. (52:49) Does the process of scrutinizing what I truly lack opposite the Creator to know this, is this a personal process that a person individually scrutinizes opposite the Creator or should we do it in the ten?

R. Both personal and collective however you agree on it.

S. This process where the friends scrutinizes and the deficiency becomes more clear and he hears the prayers of the friends, you go around each one says something and we also are today and yesterday sometimes he even creates frictions and we don't quite agree, I wanted to ask this friend who now scrutinizes the true deficiency when he will reach that suddenly he will hear that everyone is actually asking for the same deficiency? He simply has to connect it all together like a puzzle? All of these deficiencies?

R. If everyone will scrutinize that then surely yes.

S. Should he wait until the deficiency will be clear to everyone or suddenly he will just hear that we are all asking for the same thing?

R. Perhaps he will hear that everyone is asking for the same thing, That's already getting closer to real connection.

18. S. (54:30) It says in the beginning of the title. What is the difference between the Gate of Tears and the rest of the gates? What do the rest of the gates actually represent? Do they also need to be opened? Do they also need tears in the same way, my question is are there levels of tears?

R. These are degrees of attainment, degrees of attainment the rest of the gates.

S. Do they also need tears to open?

R. Usually yes.

S. There are no differences in gates so we should also always search for the true deficiency?

R. Yes, correct.

S. This article is showing us that there's no difference, there's only the essential of searching and helping each other search for the true necessity so that we really ask through the tears of the heart.

R. Yes, well said.

19. S. (56:04) Here it says that the Creator has to let the person know what is primary and what is secondary, peripheral, meaning what is necessary. How will he let me know what is necessary and what's not?

R. You're going through various states. Of course, this is the Creator putting you through all these states and therefore, that's how you ultimately come to some state that you accept as your state and the Creator’s state together.

S. When I recognize myself that I'm actually like this Rabbi who's asking for his wife, I'm also an egoist who's asking the same way: how will I shift myself to the first state so that I'm truly connected with the Creator in bestowal: how to make this transition?

R. By being in an environment, your values will change.

20. S. (57:30) Here in the beginning of the article, there is a situation with this wise disciple who feels that he's so old that he becomes his problem, seemingly he no longer needs anything he has everything but rather he has it from the Creator, so it says here that his sin is that he believes in the sages, that a person cannot be saved from slander. What does that mean, that he cannot be saved from slander?

R. This is called that still something of his pride remains in him.

21. S. (58:41) We read in the article that the person should turn to the Creator and ask of Him to reveal to him what is the true prayer that he should ask for and how and in what form can we work with this in the ten, how do we do it correctly in the ten?

R. We will learn that in many articles, in many articles. First, we have to sit together and try to build the order.

22. S. (59:29) As Bnei Baruch, our goal is to connect with each other and become like the Creator, so can we say that the gates of tears are open for us already?

R. We have to discover that the gates of tears are locked and then they will open, we still don't feel what is this and what is that, it'll come, it'll come soon.

23. S. (01:00:25) It says that the one who praises is called a messenger for the person himself. Do we need to pray that our messenger will know what to pray for? What is the separation that he makes between myself and the messenger inside of me who prays?

R. He differentiates, there are many sources in the heart from which we turn to the friends, to the Creator, to the world, to ourselves, and we have to clarify what is the right messenger that leads us to the purpose of life.

24. S. (01:01:17) It says that he wants to truly know what he lacks, does it mean that what I feel every moment and what I understand every moment is not what I truly lack?

R. No, no, it's possible that it comes from a foreign deficiency. You've heard something in the media or from the friends who are not in the group. There are all kinds of deficiencies that you absorb, it's not necessary that we live correctly, actually the other way around.

S. So how do we know if what we feel is what we truly lack?

R. We have to read the articles more and more and organize our group where we process and scrutinize the purpose of our life and make that acceptable upon all of us and all of the friends.

S. Is this how it's going to be until the end of correction that what we feel is not what we truly lack?

R. Yes, what we feel is what we feel in the meantime; our vessels are broken.

S. So it turns out that our prayers and exertions in the prayers are to reach a state in which the Creator will give us what we truly lack?

R. Yes, of course, if we, whatever we will receive, will come from the Creator.

25. S. (01:03:14) Before a person turns to the Creator and asks of Him for the right deficiency, he needs to scrutinize what is the deficiency that he has within him right now or the deficiencies but rather turn to the Creator and ask for the right deficiencies?

R. He has to first become incorporated in the deficiency of the ten and then begin to sort out what, from what of his deficiencies can be adhered, he can adhere to the deficiencies of the ten.

S. What's new about this incorporation of the ten? We try to be incorporated in them all the time. Whenever we, and we always have deficiencies that require filling, sometimes that same deficiency sits in you for years, for filling. What can I do now which is new to reach a more correct deficiency?

R. The scrutiny is new, we're not talking about the deficiencies, I'm talking about the scrutinies.

S. What is a deficiency, actually?

R. Deficiency is what I lack, so that to the point that I am better off dead if I don't have that.

S. It's a force that comes from Above or within a person?

R. It's a force that comes from within the person.

S. And seemingly it seems like that only in the right deficiencies is what separates a person from eternity?

R. Correct, yes.

S. So what's the best way to reach this eternal deficiency?

R. First, we have to be connected with our friends, and clarify together with them what is our shared deficiency, which is the strongest, most powerful upper, that's basically our work.

S. In the ten it's certain that all the friends have the deficiency somewhere and we just need to scrutinize it and bring it up to the surface?

R. They should look for it and search.

26. S. (01:05:57) The Creator shuts all the doors in order to help us so that we will discover the true deficiency and then he opens the doors in order for us to ask for the vessels of bestowal?

R. Yes, in order for us to ask for vessels of bestowal, you are right.

27. S. (01:06:38) Towards the end of the article it seems like there are two things here that are happening in parallel. One is a person that asks for a deficiency in order to know that he is wicked and he needs to recognize that he's under the rule of self-love and not the love of the Creator and in parallel he asks the Creator for help, so that He will help him come out of this self-love and be able to love the Creator. Does a person receive the deficiency and the answer at the same time?

R. What's the question?

S. At the end of the article?

R. I heard everything, what was the last sentence?

S. Does a person receive the deficiency and also the answer in parallel at the same time he receives the deficiency?

R. I can't say this is so. He has to work in order to after the deficiency he reveals he has to receive a response.

28. S. (01:07:55) It says that if a person asks for the necessity and he doesn't receive it he needs to check if it is truly necessary for him, so if it is something that is truly necessary for him, he knows that one-hundred percent right now, he wants to smoke and he must have a cigarette, he cannot exist without it, he can't think of anything else and it doesn't bring him directly closer to the Creator but he can't do without it. He asked for the cigarette, he didn't get it, so when he is inside such a great, strong deficiency and only in that, how can he even turn to the Creator and tell Him, show me what I truly lack if he feels one-hundred percent, what he truly lacks and he doesn’t get it?

R. So he cannot turn, you have to organize such deficiencies that will be correct in terms of their importance.

29. S. (01:08:50) It seems like in this whole article, Rabash is aiming us to know what is truly necessary and what is luxury but he confuses us because he writes here later on, that there is a state where a person prays for things, seemingly he's adding in Torah and Mitzvot and he doesn't get this addition because it's actually luxuries. So what is the step that Rabash is now talking to us about, the necessity to reach adhesion and what are the luxuries in reaching adhesion?

R. Typically it is not a necessity for the person to achieve Dvekut, rather Dvekut is already something beyond an ordinary demand.

S. It seems here as though the prayer, all in all, should always reach this issue of strengthening the faith we have in the Creator and he also says that in the end, the fact that one lacks faith is this what makes him be in the state of knocking. It's also the rejection that opens up the gate of tears, so how do we help each other and how do we work correctly with it?

R. You're going to get all of this from experience, start connecting otherwise it will be philosophies.

S. What do you mean to truly connect?

R. Try to connect to achieve a single goal, a single desire, to know and to research who the Creator is, try, it's only from experience; only from the work.

S. When we meet in the ten and we think that now we are working on the connection, are we working on connection or are we working on some illusions?

R. No, it's on the way; it's on the path.

30. S. (01:11:00) I cry for me, for myself, for my lacks or because the Creator calls us and we cannot answer His love?

R. What do you mean, need to cry, what do you cry for, you can't push a button and now you're going to cry because you lack? You need a ball or an ice cream or a bicycle and then you push another button and then you lack the purpose of creation, the correction of creation, the adhesion with the friends, so if it was just a matter of two adjacent buttons, that would be good.

S. So is that enough to know what the Creator wants? I need to know really that He needs to know that I suffer, that this I feel it is impossible that He could understand that?

R. Yes, without the ego suffering I won't find a solution that is even approximately correct.

31. S. (01:12:43) How can the ego suffer? We're in connection, it's good for the ego if we don't succeed in connecting?

R. Yes.

S. So how can I reach a state of suffering? How can I reach suffering from not connecting?

R. By the friends that each one thinks in his own way what connection is and what is the goal of life and the purpose of creation, you look at them and you see that you don't identify with them.

S. But the ego is happy because of it, that it fails a person in me, the Adam that wants to connect?

R. No, no, no, don't say that. If you see that you are different from everyone, it doesn't give you a sense of confidence or that you're special. It's not the same case here.

S. So eventually this point in the person that wants to connect, overcomes the ego which tries to fail, it fails me all the time, how does it happen and how can I..?

R. Because by connecting with them I'm benefiting something big, and with this ego if I realize it I don't see that I get something big.

S. The fact that it constantly fails me, actually helps me to get closer to the friends?

R. First of all I'm not sure that it is failing me.

S. So who else, it gives me reasons not to connect, it gives me excuses, there's plenty of that?

R. So why is that not good?

S. Because it overcomes the person?

R. How does it defeat the person, the person actually is taking pride because he is different and unique from everyone.

S. So how should I go forward and connect? Not that I see that I am different and I take pride, what should I do so that I nevertheless?

R. We aren't sure that in connection we achieve the goal; that's the whole problem.

S. What is this confidence?

R. Confidence.

S. What is it relying on in the connection we attain the goal?

R. That is only with what Kabbalists say. We have no promise that in connection between us I find the purpose of life.

S. And that should be enough for us to believe in the words of the Kabbalists, that's enough fuel?

R. If through them, we advance and adhere to the Creator, then certainly, yes.

32. S. (01:15:51) A person creates his first prayer when he says what he needs and then that need brings him to the true prayer. In such a case, how can we realize that in the ten, in practice?

R. Yes, this is how we realize it.

33. S. (01:16:26) At times, in our ten, when we come to a prayer from the depths of our heart it's for corporeal reasons: either for the need of a friend in the ten or for some catastrophic world event. How do we come to this deep, emotional prayer when we don't yet feel what we're yearning for, that we have this emotional deficiency to connect with the Creator? What will bring us to this depth of emotion that we have when we're praying for the friends?

R. Let's say you come to the ten, and you cry before everyone, that you saw a wonderful ring and you had to purchase it otherwise there is no life. That's it, try to do this before the friends, that they will see in you, that this desire in you is life or death, and then you turn with it, to the friends and you ask from them to help you because you cannot, without this ring.

What is it for them, for each to give you $1,000? How much will it give room for work for each and every friend and for the entire ten as a whole, and then in another three days, if you agree to meet, to discuss the progress on this matter, since from the very first meeting it's written that you have to arrive at a state where you need to treat correctly and seriously what the friend feels and what will you do? See how to realize it, this has to be a serious investment, let's say $1,000 from each on one hand, and on the other hand, it's not so terrible. See and try it.

34. S. (01:20:03) I guess that today in the groups and the World Kli a mess will start after this recommendation and people will start collecting money?

R. No, no, no, no, not to collect money and not to argue. Rather, we all together, all in all, we have to arrive at a state where we clarify, where we scrutinize these desires and intentions, not more than that. No one is saying that we need in practice to collect money, no.

35. S. (01:21:01) What's the connection between tears and efforts above reason?

R. This is a very good question, not a simple one. It's like there are states that you cannot, like in chess or another game, where you can't at once get to the goal, rather you have to make a few moves and then you arrive at the solution, that's it. We'll talk about it. This is what we do in the wisdom of Kabbalah: we come to the clarification of the Reshimot [records] and then the coupling by striking and then we form the Masach and the reforming light and then we clothe; that there are a lot of personal and private actions until we arrive at the actual deed.

36. S. (01:22:35) I used to go to sleep for years with a question about what I wanted since I started learning and I never got an answer. Since I started learning Kabbalah, I asked what the Creator wants from me and today in the lesson I understand two things, one, that there is the fear to really discover. Two, that there is a concealment before me, to protect me. Can you explain these two things?

R. You have to open these: you have to discover, not me.

37. S. (01:23:25) He says in the end of the article that there's a simple advice to cry with tears on the prayer that he's praying. What does it mean in the ten that we can add tears?

R. That we truly scrutinize and discern our real deficiency, this is a sign.

S. What's the action on our behalf that we're adding tears, what is that addition?

R. It's a sign that you have now a burst of a desire.

S. He says it's advice. I thought it's an action that we can do, a simple advice, a tear on his prayer and the gate of tears isn't locked, that's why there's a recommendation for a man to cry. So is it worth having this depiction of an open gate? Is that also something we can work with?

R. Maybe, maybe, I cannot answer, give an answer that's all encompassing, we will scrutinize.

S. Can we say maybe where we are, that we come to the lesson and we hear you and we read the books and we do actions, so what's lacking for the heart to open, for the gates to open? It's as if we're activating all these means, these big guns on us, everything that we need, so what's this additional thing to put that prayer together like he says here?

R. I don't understand what you want.

S. I'm saying we're using all the means to open the heart to reach a prayer with the environment. We come to the lessons, books, Rav, everything, what are we lacking for the gates to really open and not close?

R. To trust the Creator all together, the whole ten, for the Creator to solve everything, reveal everything and take us and transition us, transfer us, through all of these questions.

38. S. (01:26:40) Is there a clear line between necessities and additional things in spirituality?

R. Luxuries are luxuries that a person reveals. And necessities are necessities that a person reveals and if he has necessities and he cannot forgo luxuries, he cannot forgo then there are scrutinies.

39. S. (01:27:28) He opens the gate for those who knock on it, what does it mean to knock in repentance?

R. That such people don't let go of the prayer and constantly demand of Him in connection.

40. S. (01:27:50) How to really cry for something that we're not really lacking yet?

R. Through connection with the ten.

41. S. (01:28:00) How do we turn spirituality into a state that without it I'd rather be dead than alive?

R. It's the daily care, that a person constantly calls upon his desires and judges them, expands them, until if he doesn't fulfill them better death than such a life.

42. S. (01:28:36) Are the closed gates felt closed through the efforts in the ten?

R. Yes.

43. S. (01:28:44) What does it mean when I see an open gate or a closed gate?

R. According to what he in the article, that the gate, that all the gates are locked and the gates of tears was not locked.

44. S. (01:29:20) Is the true suffering when I can't correct my current state into the perfect state?

R. We don't know what perfect is. If I'm not successful, how do I know that I need to succeed and that's going to be good? Maybe the other way around, that through not succeeding and I'm in sorrow and I'm in tears, maybe that is the desired state.

45. S. (01:29:55) How can the ten, practically, now build a desire to bestow?

R. As usual there is no difference in spiritual law from 2,000 years ago or today. I don't understand why should there be specifically, be changes today or a different day. Today, they have an opportunity to connect with the friends and build the groups and at the end we build and we construct a spiritual society.

S. I think they're asking because we're scrutinizing to discover what we're lacking in the work?

R. Other than connection and turning to the Creator from our connection, we're not missing anything and then whatever we demand and ask for it will happen.

46. S. (01:31:05) When a person discovers the state that he wants that diamond ring, what should he do with that? Restrict that desire or turn to the Creator or to the friends? What should he do?

R. He should act very simply. A person needs to understand that his answer joins the question of the Creator and they work in such a way.

S. I don't understand, what's the answer?

R. What was the question?

S. Let's say a person wants that diamond ring, so what should he do with it, turn to the Creator or restrict that desire or turn to the friends? What do you do?

R. About a diamond ring, I don't know. About turning to the ten, to the friend but what it says here is that the Rav, a guess of those people who prayed together and he received such a gift for them, then he comes to them and asks for money for other things. So what is your question?

S. But he doesn't understand that it's a luxury. He thinks that a diamond ring is something he needs?

R. And this is also how we ask the Creator for things that we don't really need.

S. So that Rabbi that wanted a diamond ring, what should he do, ask the Creator to scrutinize if it's necessary?

R. He doesn't realize that he needs to clarify anything here, he knows that if he asks, then he can receive.

S. So also you, let's say, you have a desire or I have a desire for golden rings, so what should I do, ask for Him to give me that ring or annul that desire?

R. Ask, he cannot otherwise, he did a correct action, he asked for money for help with others, he received it and then instead of others, his wife that demands the ring.

S. So what should he do with that?

R. Nothing, ask for money to give her.

S. That's not clear. The ring has nothing to do with the path or bestowal?

R. What is the difference? He had a desire to help another and now he has a desire to help his spouse; he wants to do the same thing.

S. So is that right?

R. What do you mean, that's right?

S. That he wants to use the force of a bestowal to get that diamond?

R. Of course.

S. So what do you do? Does he need to correct himself somehow?

R. He goes and asks for money for the ring and the people don't understand him, they laugh at him, and he doesn't understand them, how can they laugh at him, for him it may be a familial drama in the family, he can't even return to his home because he will be met with, she'll meet him with a weapon.

S. So how to correct the state?

R. I don't know, he's a great Rav, he needs to know what to do. What do you want from me? He has to now, we see these examples everyday, for each of us, we all each have our internal wife that demands and he wants to give his wife what she demands. So it's an example for everyone for each, since it's talking about our ego.

S. Will there be such a situation ever that he can get this diamond ring in order to bestow to the Creator?

R. If it's a necessity of someone in the world and he does it to realize that necessity for it enters the desire and intention for correction, then certainly he will receive. Then this ring will fill a correct spot, a correct space within the system of Adam.

47. S. (01:37:56) Why do we think that this state is much worse than it used to be? Once a Rabbi could come into the synagogue and ask something and the audience would answer and today?

R. The audience, the crowd never did any calculation in the wise ones, in order to help a family, otherwise they get thrown out and they will have no place to live and then everyone will certainly donate and want to help. Today, when Rav speaks of such things then first of all, no one believes him, no one believes him, they think that he needs it for himself, for his wife.

S. There's not such a feeling. I think today, this example, that if something you can feel, that it's tangible and look in the eyes, I have no doubt that the Rav, each one of the friends here.

R. Are you talking about our society

S. All together, to stand before an audience and connect or engage in love the friends as yourself, it's like sending a message out in the air that doesn't touch anybody. A while ago a Rabbi said something in a synagogue and everyone would jump.

R. You heard a wives tale story.

S. It wasn't Grandma, it was my grandfather but..

R. Well, this is what they say, we don't have what to say and people used to live differently and all in all, life was different.

S. I see people were closer once, as time went by we moved away.

R. We didn't feel it, it's all revealed according to our vessels, all In all.

48. S. (01:40:40) We also talked about it before, how do we fix or get rid of pride, you talked about pride?

R. This is work for the rest of the life, for all, all of the reincarnations, for the rest of time. So don't think that at 4:00 a.m. you can cover these things until the evening, that you will be successful, this is long work with many reincarnations.

S. But you see friends that do have this ability?

R. The fact that they have the ability, that's how you think and they think that you have the ability.

S. I'm saying lower my pride?

R. There's no such thing, no one can stand against their pride, on Moses, it's written that he was humble, for example, the only one.

S. And you don't aim for such things, it's not good to aim for that?

R. It's good to aim to that but to the degree that we can deal with it, that five worlds above us, the light works, that it is all in bestowal and acts through all of the screens, all of these screens until a tiny light comes to us and awakens a very tiny egoistic desire, otherwise we wouldn't be able to handle it.

S. Well, that's the beginning, what you said but there's the Creator there's Infinity, there's Ein Sof, we're aiming for corrections?

R. Yes and we're doing corrections.

49. S. (01:42:55) So how do we get rid of this pride?

R. Day in and day out, day in and day out, this is what we do, with daily work if you feel that you can be closer to friends from yesterday, more today than from yesterday, with a heart that's slightly more open without concealing yourself, you can be before them just as you are. This is not the end either but it's already more than yesterday.

S. Do you know how painful it is that there are friends you love and as much as you do, they still don't feel you?

R. So you need to understand them and forgive them and this is how the Creator created them.

S. But they need to feel it, if not so what is this bestowal worth?

R. You cannot obligate them to do what the Creator does.

S. But you tell them I'm concerned about you, tell me if you need something?

R. No, he doesn't feel and he doesn't want and he doesn't need, you cannot enter within another what you feel is beneficial for him to have. How can you do it, even in the small child you know how difficult it is to arrange something of our own for it to be in the heart and the mind.

S. But we have a common goal and common actions?

R. This is how it's written, but it's not written in the heart, it is written in the book.

S. That's why I'm asking you, so how do I translate it?

R. Day in and day out, day in and day out, throughout, over many years and even reincarnations; yes, this is creation.

S. That going in faith and not in knowledge?

R. Go to the Maker who made me, you understand what they say, that's it, there's someone who created me, you have complaints towards Him? Go to Him, this is how He made me.

S. If I'm bestowing and he doesn't feel it, so I didn't bestow, that's what I'm trying to get to because there's no Creator without the created being?

R. Meaning that you want to control another.

S. Not to control, to help him.

R. But he doesn't want your help, meaning your help is through pressure, you want to obligate him because you now have a desire.

S. But that should be the..?

R. Even if you want it from the bottom of your heart, to help him, but it's like a mother who wants to push another spoon into the child and he doesn't want it and he screams and he says mom is bad, everything has to be according to the desire. The one who receives it is always correct.

50. S. (01:46:36) Actually the ring doesn't disappear, the desire for the ring remains but the intention of that Rabbi the audience didn't recognize it, that's what it means here that you can't recognize what he needed the reading for?

R. He explains that he doesn't hide the intention. He shares that there's a family that really needs help and now he needs it for his wife.

51. S. (01:47:11) If the ten had a scrutiny and saw that the friend is lacking necessities after they scrutinized it, and they prayed for it and it wasn't answered, so what are they lacking?

R. What was an answer from above, so it wasn't answered.

S They're praying for friends' necessity that didn't get an answer so what's lacking?

R. What's missing is maybe they need to act even on a corporeal level. I remember I would purchase crates of chicken. you know already for cooking, a carton crate. and I would feed a few families it was a long time ago.

S. Let's say, that they also did the deeds whatever they can but is something lacking in the prayer, or in the connection where else can we add? They did everything they could in the deeds to help whatever they could, they prayed, where else do we have to be more precise if it wasn't answered?

R. That does it mean unanswered?

S He didn't get the necessity yet, the friend we were praying for?

R. This is a matter of the Creator already. We have to do what's up to us, our half, and the second half the creator has to.

S. Okay so we have to keep going the same direction on our behalf that's our half a shekel and

R. and all the rest leave it up to heaven.

52. S. (01:49:24) Every person has that desire inside that once said diamond ring for himself and a person is a prisoner of that desire. How can he scrutinize the true desire for the purpose of creation because it won't always be aimed towards the true purpose?

R. Little by little with the friends, he discerns how to scrutinize and he comes to a solution but it's long-term work.

53. S. (01:50:14) I want to continue with this scrutiny because it is something that we live through everyday. It's clear that if it's my desire from inside me to help and bestow to a friend that's one thing, on the other hand there's things we agree on in society, also a friend will ask let's say help come to the morning lesson to wake up and so on but there are states that are in between that you don't know to the side even in the scrutiny?

R. You have friends who have scrutinized them and together all in all you will come to a solution even a decision that theoretically is incorrect but if you receive it, if you make that decision together the Creator receives it he accepts it.

S. The scrutiny has to be deciding together with the friends and that's where the answer will be?

R. Absolutely, together with the friends, that is where the answer will be.

54. S. (01:51:15) It seems that we are forgetting the principle which is that the whole world was created only for my correction. We think that there are others there are egos and there's a force within their egos they are operating, but we cannot see that, it's only created for my correction for me to see myself, and it's all operated from above, the friends, everything, the world, and I just have to observe it and place myself correctly. But on top of it we are trying to force others, this is good for you. you will do this I know what is good for you, how can we see that it's all from above, that he's the one operating?

R. That's also you can't determine that but only within society,. only in society.

S. Can I say that in the connection with the friends I will feel that there is an internal work that they do that is only I am not in. it seems like there is a secret language, they are all speaking that language except me. I am the only one out of this.

R. That's what each one thinks.

S. How can I lower myself to see that I am the only one missing part for correction?

R. You have to work on it. You need to work on it.

S. In practice there is a connection between us. Sometimes we have resistance, as like we heard from the students of Rashbi that they wanted to kill each other. There's a jealousy there is hate, no one wants to look in their face, okay, that friend was rude with me yesterday, now I will be more rude to him tomorrow and I will take my revenge, it's like their egos are operating and I will be on it on top of it pressure it. Can we say that annulling before the friend is like annulling before the Creator who operates it?

R. Yes, annulment is the main thing. When we were in England I don't remember who I was with. We went to that guy, so he also said when I told him that I want to study with you, study from you so he says if you want to study for me you have to love me. In a very simple way he said it. Just like that without any excuses. There's a lot of methods, but it depends on which will receive to which coarseness they work.

55. S. (01:56:33) How will we ask for all the singles to be married here and now?

R. Put a prayer together.

56. S. (01:56:56) If all the gates are locked by the person himself or if the gates of tears are open by the Creator?

R. Okay

57. S. (01:57:26) How do I understand what Rabash is writing here? He writes a person needs to pray, to pray he needs to have a deficiency. First he can pray with that deficiency, so that means he writes that he needs to pray., your first prayer needs to be such and such so how do we

R. Of course, what are you asking?

S. Meaning he says such a thing, the first prayer of a person is for the Creator to let him know so and so. What does it mean for the Creator to let him know that he will have a certain change from above that he will feel. We know that the change within man comes from the light that reforms, so out of that I need to understand that you do what attracts light that reforms and then you will have this change so any suggestion based on his writing that your explanation it's difficult what he writes.

58. S. (01:58:55) About The ring? All of this is he's asking this for his wife?

R. All of this is he's asking this for his wife?

S. They should be rushing to give the money but they don't give the money

R. Nobody's just giving it out just like that

S. No translation.

R. He's telling him to do that, to give money for the wife and nobody wants to give the money

S. If we compare this to what's happening in the group?

R. The purpose has to be true.,on the way to the full correction. Meaning against the ego.

S. But there has to be faith between us, some agreement between us.

R. There can't be any faith or any agreement with something we have to build. that's something we have to build

S. Meaning this is some incomplete work that someone says and everyone laughs about it.

R. Everybody is egoistic and they are all doing it right.

59. S. (02:01:00) After 2 hours of studying, I heard all the questions and answers . I'm very inspired so what do I do with it?

R. What exactly is your summary?

S. Summary is that I'm still in prisoned, I can't exit the prison of self-love and pray for the friend.

R. What do you need?

S. I want to pray?

R. Pray for the friend?

S. Yes

R. What is the friend lacking?

S. I don't know.

R. How can you pray?

S. This is it, this is the state I want to pray, I want to maybe I want to pray for the friend but at the truth is I want to exit self love come to the love of others and I'm doing it for myself but like you said that a friend has no deficiency, rather I need to exit self love.

R. The question for now is, to know what my true deficiency has to be okay? That's a prayer. You need to implement it, formulate it together in the ten and turn to the Creator for it.

S. What do we ask of the Creator?

R. We're asking the Creator to give everyone a thought and a desire, the correct thought and desire and this way we will keep going.

60. S. (02:03:19) My real deficiency is the deficiency of the friend?

R. Eventually that's what has to be but not in the beginning of the path.

S. Meaning for the friend I can ask for a diamond ring but for myself I will ask and I can only ask for the friend? I don't even know what to decide anymore.

R.Yes that's it.

61. S. (02:04:18) For a friend we can ask for a diamond ring?

R. For a friend you can ask for whatever you want.

S. Can that be damaging for him?

R. That's your work already, that's your work, if the friend is lacking something but is really lacking, and you want to fill that deficiency, so that is your work.

S. What does it mean that this is my work? He wants something that will damage him?

R. How do you know? You think it's going to give him damage, that's not what he thinks.

S. It's really unclear because it can be

R. No, no, we can't. You're not higher than the friend that now you can calculate whether he'll get damaged from this or not, he has a desire for that and that's it. Now the question is, as much as you can fill his desire.

S. I need to go with him till the end?

R. All the way? I didn't say that, I said that for now so you have a problem before you to fill a friend's deficiency or not?

S. What do I do with that?

R. I guess you have to fulfill his desire. If you can buy a diamond for him and $10,000 like it said here, then you should do it.

S. It says going with him, I understand what he wants, I think it can bring him some damage but I overcome it and I go with it yet still?

R. I'm not going into philosophy. I see that we still are not ready for it.
