Part 3:

Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 1. Part 4. Chapter One. #7 ("Let us begin to clarify the existence of Akudim,")

1. R. (03:41) What's he saying here? There is the matter of the obligation to reach adhesion with the Creator. To rise above this world on all of the stages that we need to in order to reach adhesion with a Creator, and we must do it. Whoever gets this awakening from the inside must start performing these things. There are some people who succeed more, and some succeed less. So today this is how it happens. From this day onward, roughly from our period as Baal HaSulam writes, we are in the generation of the Messiah, of the last corrections. So whether we want to or not, the forces of nature will obligate us through all kinds of means, they will force us to reach the correction.

Continues “But because the Torah prohibits this…”

2. R. (05:14) Meaning they did not go in order to bestow, to connect, each one to annul his private ego but they kept going as usual, as we see in our world.

Continues “Because they did some of the powers of the nation…”

3. R. (07:08) Yes, that is what happened in history with that group that Abraham started and put together from all the nations of the world. They lived in Mesopotamia, and they went through many, many corrections until they reached the ruin of the second temple.

4. S. (07:45) How can all the tens connect in a straight line?

R. I do not know what all the tens in a straight line means, I've never seen anything like that. Every ten has to connect between them and be as one man with one heart. Then we will discover the next form of connection between the tens.

5. S. (08:16) What is the matter of those that separated and went to do like the officers and kings? So they left the nation and they fell from the degree and there are those that are in connection. What is the importance of keeping the connection with those who can’t keep it?

R. Still in something they kept it, in something they did, these and those and those. There were many shatterings in those times, in the shattering of the second temple. Like we hear about the groups that were living in caves in Qumran and all sorts of places, and they ran outside of the country to all kinds of places. It was a period where the providence would scatter the nation, the shattered nation to all directions.

6. S. (09:35) He’s talking about the second temple, that the temple was ruined because of unfounded hatred and here he’s saying it was because of the obligation of Lishma. What is the...?

R. They did not want to ascend to the degree of Lishma.

S. What does it have to do with the unfounded hatred for which that temple was ruined?

R. Because all of these things are connected together.

S. In one another?

R. Of course. What is unfounded hatred? When I am not keeping love, love your neighbor as yourself. It is the rule of the Torah and I’m not keeping it.

S. What is the difference in the ruin between the first and second temples?

R. The shattering is more revealed.

S. In the second temple?

R. Of course.

S. How is that expressed in the second temple’s ruin?

R. So he says in the second temple the separation was felt out in the public, out in the open. That they were not ashamed about it anymore and somewhat externally they even stopped trying to hold on to one another. We think that they had good relationships maybe two thousand years ago in the temple. No, it was very harsh, the relationships were shattered.

S. So as it said we are deteriorating from period to period?

R. Yes, of course.

S. Today we’re still deteriorating?

R. Of course.

S. What’s the reason for that deterioration?

R. The revelation of the will to receive in order to receive in every person more and more. You see how many people want to be prime minister today. Everyone wants to.

S. It's a very bad time, no respect. Everywhere you look it’s worse than the last time. Each time you think we’re advancing.

R. No, we’re not advancing. We’re advancing towards the shattering, revealing a greater shattering more and more. But we of Bnei Baruch have to watch ourselves and formulate and be the opposite. That from all the nations we’re gathering parts and connecting them together. That’s why this virtual connection that is now taking place, that will be the center of the new world.

S. That’s our beauty, that’s our innovation in the world.

R. Right, and that is why it does not matter for us any external actions of the Torah. We only need to aim ourselves to love of friends and through them to love of created beings and through them to love of the Creator.

S. When they see us they keep cursing us because we are not…

R. Of course we will be cursed more and more because they feel we are different, that we’re opposite of them, not like them. That is why they are going to blame us for everything, they're going to say everything they can about us.

S. I feel that there is fire and sulfur on us all the time. They see me and tell me you tell your Rav that you are doing what’s opposite of what’s written in the Torah. That’s what they tell me.

R. OK, so what? There are worse criminals than us, right?

S. I know the truth, everyone knows the truth in Bnei Baruch. But how will you deal with this dirt?

R. I don’t have to deal with them, ever. There is nowhere where it’s written about it.

S. So what are you going to do, keep quiet?

R. Yes, of course. What have I been doing my whole life? I don't even have the energy to silence myself, I do not even want to be in any connection with them.

S. But you can’t let the audience talk dirt about us.

R. Why not? They are enjoying it, let them enjoy it.

S. But it is not positive dissemination.

R. I have to disseminate through all that, what can you do? But not that, and also do not hate those that rise against us.

S. I see that they are idiots, what they’re talking about, it’s nonsense.

R. That is enough of the ruin for today, of speaking to you.

7. S. (15:08) They say that this year there are tough times for Israel like the war in the South and other things. Is there something we could do to improve this state?

R. The answer is as usual, only connection between us, that is the remedy for everything.

S. Baal HaSulam writes that there is only one remedy and that is to bring the troubles on us, but we see even two thousand years don’t really budge us.

R. Who said it happened already?

S. How do you feel about what is happening in Israel right now?

R. I don’t feel what is happening in Israel. For me Israel is Bnei Baruch that are somewhat trying to connect between them. That’s called Yashar El that are aimed to resemble the Creator. Except for that I do not see Israel.

S. Why is it that when a person annuls himself and he goes towards correction and he’s looking for the truth, why in the end is he being persecuted and cursed, and he has to hide in a cave?

R. In order to help him run towards the correction even quicker.

S. We need to somehow imagine that this will happen to us?

R. Of course. It is ‘help against.’

8. S. (17:01) As he writes here because there were sages they could not come up with advice or tactics to bring peace between all the streams, all the sects?

R. How is that? The whole world must repent. Everyone has to understand what good and bad is and how to connect good and bad and reach the middle line, which is the Creator, the source where all the good and bad come from, supposedly bad. So what is the problem with creating the world through good and bad and letting us organize all these things between us, between one another?

S. So there must be something that is above nature?

R. It has to exist like this, and we just have to think about how we connect, each and every one of us. I am not criticizing the world, why it is in such a way, why we are getting rockets now and whatever, ‘the dogs are awakening.’ I'm not calculating that; I'm calculating how I respond to that because it all comes to me and presses on me and so according to that I can organize myself. That’s it.

S. But in any case we see here that he is writing here that they offer to bring peace with the imperials. There's something that the sages are saying that we have to abide by, no?

R. No, where are you reading that?

S. At the end of the paragraph. The other ones would not make peace with the Imperious.

R. Those were such things that you can’t scrutinize. That was two thousand years ago. You want to start getting into in judging people and different sects that were there and Israel after the shattering that used to come up and the Romans and all of that, no.

S. I'm asking about today. Can they listen to the sages today or does it have to be through the path of suffering and beating?

R. Listen to what the Torah says, only in the connection between us can we correct everything, you have no other means. Do you want to try? You can go and do whatever you want. In the end don’t forget that by the connection between us the correction has to come. Then after all your disappointments you will do it and see.

9. S. (20:27) Those who were rich were drawn after the desires and…?

R. I already said it to everybody. Don’t try and understand what happened two thousand years ago in two lines here. I do not know what wise guys can explain it. Don’t study that, we just need to know one thing. Back then a correction had to happen by deeds and intention and today it is only intention. Everything in thought will be clarified. Connect one to the other and there will be the correction of the world. Do not go into history, it will not help you. He writes about it very clearly, that all of these things have happened, they were all in order to shatter the Adam HaRishon even more. The first stage, the second stage and then we have to already correct ourselves, and when we reach the final shattering from that we can rise and resurrect the whole system, that’s it, no other way.

10. S. (22:06) They say that with every ruin salvation is also born. Do we need to see in each state the state of salvation existing inside every state?

R. Yes that is right. Every ruin emphasizes the salvation that is about to come.

11. S. (22:39) A question about a friend we are accompanying today, burying, putting him to rest. He was very loyal down to the last moment. How as a ten do we need to relate to this passing and continue this attitude to him even though he is not with us in a physical body?

R. That does not matter, take into account that he is still with us, he is our friend forever and do that simple action as much as you need and that’s it and he is still with us.
