Part 1: Sitrin Convention, Sukkot 2003 - Lesson 12

Reader: Hello, friends. In the first part of the lesson, we will continue the series of lessons with Rav from the Sitrin 2003 Congress. We're continuing with lesson number 12 from October 16, 2003, please.

M. Laitman: (00:20) I will tell you, in short, everything that I was saying, all of these words in Russian. These are actually things you already know and you read about it. There's nothing new in it. The moment you have questions, each one should put up his hand, not just shout, and I will truly give the opportunity to each and every one to ask. If there is something new which will help us to scrutinize the matter, all the better. So, it's good.

The thing is that as you saw it, whoever was here, whoever wasn't, the sukkah was full, and there were many people here. All these people came from abroad, not from Israel. And when they come from Israel, and actually the Israelis, then what we see is there are about 30 or 50 maximum people. Why is it so? Why is it so, it's written in the Torah that this is the greatest coarseness, the most coarse, most egoistic nation. And precisely because of that, the Torah was given to us through it, the method of Kabbalah, the method of the correction of the soul. And we have no choice, we have to work with this nation. That's what we have.

So why does it happen in this way? We learn from the wisdom of Kabbalah that there is one vessel that the Creator created, here is a sketch, a will to receive, and the Creator, that is the light, who creates this vessel. And there is nothing besides that. And this vessel is one will to receive, and the light fills it. That state is given, and it exists on the highest degree. And this is called the world of Ein Sof.

What happens next? Next, in order for this desire to reach the degree of the Creator, what happens? The Creator wanted the created being to reach His degree, and this is called to do good to the created beings, to His creations. The thought of creation is to do good to His creation, to His creations, here. The thought of creation, the thought of to do good to His creations, meaning to bring the created being to the degree of the Creator, not to make him a good child and fill him with pleasures, but to enlarge him up to the degree of truly being the King's son, equal to the Creator. How do we do it? So both the desire as well as the filling that the Creator created here, the created being must attain it by himself. And to attain it, means to build it by himself, to seemingly create by himself, and then he will be in the thought, and in the desire, and in the power, and in the experience with all the elements that the Creator has, the created being will merit it by himself.

You know, to reach that, the created being must want it. You know, that who wants it, he must know what is the gap, the difference between him and the Creator. This feeling, this gap between the created being and the Creator, we call it the feeling of shame. So if the Creator is revealed, we feel shame, the difference between the created being and the Creator, and that feeling of shame is the drive that the created being feels, and then with the help of this drive, he'll correct himself. So in summary, if and until we will feel the Creator, we have no shame, and we have no desire at all to be similar to Him or to exert in some way to be like Him. So we must reach the revelation of the Creator. That's one.

Two. But the Creator is not revealed. Why is He not revealed? He's not revealed because if He were revealed now, then we would want Him for ourselves, but it's to use Him for our pleasure. Just like we want to use every pleasure, every person, and the whole world around us only for our own pleasure. If the Creator would be revealed, we would relate to Him likewise: how to take advantage of Him? This is why He's not revealed. And so what do we do?

M. Laitman: (04:33) So, we advance through the means out of concealment, which is considered through surrounding light. So how do we do that? This means that the Creator wants to bring the created being from the state that He created as the world of Ein Sof, where here the created being is still with his vessels so that he doesn't feel these vessels and with the filling that he doesn't feel that he has this filling because all of these things come from above, from the Creator. The Creator created the vessel, He created the desire, and if the desire doesn't come from the created being himself, then we do not feel the desire or the pleasure. This is called “still,” lacking feeling. Even now, even though I'm already a person and I'm sensitive and I understand and I hear and I respond, but even now, I have all kinds of such operations within me that I do not understand them, I do not feel them, I do not know about them, because I did not build them. I didn't feel them as a deficiency and I did not fill them with a filling. And so it's possible that they exist, but with respect to me, with respect to my feeling, they do not.

So how to make it so that this created being who was created will truly reach the quality of the Creator? The quality of the Creator, it's, well, it's bestowal. How to reach bestowal from the side of the created being? To whom can he bestow? To the Creator? How can he bestow to the Creator? He's just a will to receive. In order to give the created being this ability, what the Creator does is He breaks this vessel. He injects into this vessel another quality, of Bina. He breaks it and brings the vessel to a state of shattering, the shattering of the vessels, or the shattering of Adam HaRishon. And then what happens is that in this vessel that the Creator created, there's a will to receive, called Malchut, and in addition, the quality of the Creator, called Bina. Together, but broken. And how is this manifested? It is manifested in a state where that same vessel now seems different. There are many, many, many points, desires to receive, that are unconnected. Earlier, it was one vessel. All of the desires would receive inside of them, together, all of them, the light. Now there is a division, a partition between them. Each one is in his cell, each one, and does not feel the others. What does it mean? He doesn't feel the deficiency of the other, or he feels the deficiency of the other in order to exploit him for his own benefit, but he doesn't feel the deficiency of the other, he doesn't live the other as it was here in the first state. What was then done for? This is the state after the shattering. It's Adam HaRishon after the shattering, when his soul was divided into 600,000 souls, or in Hebrew, we say 60 Ribos. Ribos is 10,000, so it's 600,000 parts. And each one of them was further divided into many, many more parts.

What for? So that if each one of these desires, which is actually a part of Malchut, will receive the quality of Bina, and use it out of the quality of Bina - and the quality of Bina is bestowal - then he can relate to all of the other parts, to all of the other parts as the Creator. This means that he has a possibility to become similar to the Creator in his relation to all of the other parts of that same vessel. And then, if he does that, then he truly reaches, according to equivalence of form, to the state of the Creator. However, how do we do it? For that, there is a method called the wisdom of Kabbalah, but actually, this is the whole thing. This is the whole round of creation, from the beginning, to the shattering, to its descent to this world, and its ascent back to the degree of the Creator, to the world of Ein Sof. Questions?

Question (Sitrin): (09:22) What will the process be like in which the broken Malchut learns to receive the addition of Bina?

M. Laitman: Other questions?

Question (Sitrin): (09:35) Meaning, it means that if there are relations between parts of the Malchut, it's like between the Creator and the created being. How it needs to be?

M. Laitman: The created being has to reach in his attitude to all of the created beings, as the Creator relates to all of the created beings. We need to resemble Him, to learn from Him how He relates to creation, and we have to relate to creation likewise.

And so here we reach this condition, "Love your friend as yourself," is the great rule of the Torah, right? This means that "Love your friend as yourself" is actually that same state, the same attitude of the Creator towards the created beings, the love towards the created beings. What does it mean, "as yourself"? For us, this is the scale, in which form does the Creator love the created beings. For us, it is expressed in the word, "as yourself." You shall love, fine, you love, and He also loves them, but how, to what extent, under which conditions, and in what intensity, what relation? As yourself.

That is, I need to learn how I love myself. Without knowing how I love myself, I won't know how to love others. And then, in order for me to know how to love myself, they open for me, bit by bit, a greater and greater will to receive, my will to receive, so that more and more I get to know how much I'm willing to fill it. And I don't care if anyone, everyone on the outside will burn, and the whole world, so long as I'll receive some smallest pleasure. And in this way, bit by bit, as I attain my will to receive, how much I love myself, bit by bit, according to how I attain my will to receive, and how much I love myself, I have to correct it, so it will be precisely in the same form that I love the others. And then, this process, where each time they open up for me the will to receive, and I see how much I love myself and I correct it, precisely in the same way to love others, this process is called an ascent on the spiritual degrees, the degrees of the upper worlds.

Question (Sitrin): (11:51) But we say that the Creator is an enormous force of bestowal, so how can the created being bestow upon another created being like the Creator does?

M. Laitman: We study the will to receive bit by bit, and if we correct it according to how the Creator uses His desire to bestow, so that our will to receive will also relate to others, then we reach precisely the equivalence of form. Now, you're asking how can the will to receive be as a force of bestowal? It's very simple. The size, the measure of our will to receive is exactly the measure of the Creator's desire to bestow, because the Creator, in His desire to bestow with His light, He created this vessel. So, the light and the vessel are equal. If I will use the vessel as light for bestowal, then I'll resemble the light precisely, I'll exactly resemble the Creator's bestowal. I have all the elements for that, I don't need to do anything from the outside.

Student: But the vessel is shattered into tiny shards, each small part has this kind of force?

M. Laitman: No, my small vessel, to begin with, has no forces. I begin from a state where I don't even know what this is about, right? If we speak about our present state, but bit by bit they add to me a will to receive, and I begin to use it. If I use it correctly, then they add to me a will to receive, and they give me the possibility to know how to correct it, how to use it according to the way that the Creator bestows. The magnitude of the will to receive, again - I'm saying inside each and every one of us there is the will to receive of Ein Sof, in each one - you, from your will to receive right now, let's say this is you, you feel the smallest part in it, all the rest is hidden from you, because you're not capable, you don't have the vessels to even correct it. That small will to receive in which you now live is called “this world,” what you feel in it, right? That picture that you feel in it is called this world. You're given that to feel now, even though your will to receive is not corrected. Why? In order to give you some measure of existence, because you have to start from something. So you start from that.

This is not considered that you're receiving, it's not considered that you're bestowing, it's not considered as anything. Therefore our state is not even considered that we're alive. In spirituality this is not considered life. This is called below the level of life, because below the level of vitality, we're dead. With respect to spirituality, we're dead, we don't have a screen. Now all the rest of the will to receive will open up to you according to how much you will be ready to correct it in order to bestow.

Let's say I studied, I made all kinds of efforts in the group, I truly want it, and I'm ready.  I seemingly want and ready, of course, but I did make some preparation that there is above surrounding light which I truly invited, I drew it upon myself through my efforts, whatever the Kabbalists suggest for us, they recommend for us to do, I did that. Then they open up for me a layer of the will to receive, which is called, let's say, the root coarseness, and then I begin to work with it. Of course, I then feel a great descent, I begin to feel spiritual pleasures and how much I would want them and to receive them, in order to receive, I begin to work with them. Opposite them, I acquire through the surrounding light, the force for their correction to use all of this coarseness in order to bestow. This means with the intention to bestow, in order to bestow. And then the will to receive, bit by bit, will become corrected.

If it will be corrected, then it is considered that I reach Ibur, impregnation, conception, right? I'm done with the Ibur, the coarseness of the root coarseness, then they add to me more, another will to receive, coarseness of one, two, three, and then four. That's it. That's the whole thing. So, according to that, it is considered that I'm in the world of Assiya, Briah, until I reach Adam Kadmon or Ein Sof. Every degree of the will to receive that I actualize, it is considered.

M. Laitman: (16:28) So, I feel in it the presence of the Creator then. I made an intention to bestow here, so the upper light enters inside this will to receive. I feel the entrance of the light into this will to receive, and this for me is called the world of Assiya. I am in the world of Assiya. That's what it's called. Inside my corrected will to receive will be this world of Assiya. And it's later on, it's the same: they add to me coarseness of one. This is already called Katnut [smallness] or Yenika [suckling]. This correction is called Yenika. This state will be called Katnut, then it will be the world of Yetzira. That is, what I will feel inside of my will to receive, which is corrected with the intention in order to bestow in the coarseness of one, will be called the world of Assiya, and so on. That is, of course, all the desires, all the worlds, all of the appearances of the Creator, it's inside the created being, inside the same vessel of the will to receive, which each one of us corrects.

Now, the question is, how do I correct it? How do I acquire the screen? The moment that I'll be ready to acquire the screen, then, again, my will to receive will open up, and I'll be able to correct it, and thus rise on the degrees of the spiritual worlds. I can acquire a screen only through my effort towards the other created beings, right? I can't do it towards the Creator. I'm never in a state where I can acquire a screen towards the Creator. It doesn't matter, even if I'm in the spiritual world, even if I'm in the world of Yetzira and Briah, and even if I rise to Atzilut, and I truly already work with the will to receive in order to bestow, nevertheless, my action is towards the public, as we call it. He speaks about it in the “Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot,” that one has to be incorporated with the sorrow of the public, and he merits the consolation of the public. I never work opposite the Creator Himself, until the end of correction. Forget about it, that you need to work opposite the Creator. There are always souls.

In our state now, the souls are the society, my small group, which I, as if, choose it, but actually the Creator brings me into this group, and then I, according to how much I try to work with them, that I seemingly want their benefit, and I prepare myself truly for the correct work already with spiritual forces. If I made myself so, if I prepared myself, if I engaged sufficiently in love of friends, if I took this rule of "Love your friend as yourself" is the great rule of the Torah, and I implemented it as much as the Kabbalists suggest and recommend for me, that I'm rewarded with the fact that already, instead of the Partzufim, the faces, faces meaning the bodies, instead of that I begin to feel how the souls are revealed. The person who crosses the barrier starts to feel the inner part inside each and every one, what we call his soul, his desire. And then he already relates to everyone, not as one face and a second and a third, or one body or many bodies, he already sees the desires inside the bodies, he already relates to the souls. But nevertheless it is the same work, to work from within you and outwardly, to relate to them as the Creator creates the created beings, and as much as I invest in this work accordingly to become like Him, then surrounding light comes to me and it gives me this possibility. I never work opposite the Creator.

M. Laitman: (20:49) My work is always to reattach this entire vessel that was broken, and in it, according to how much I do attach it, meaning as much as I come out of myself and enter into others, this is called acquiring the sorrow of the public, then I'm rewarded with the consolation of the public, that is, as much as the light will enter into these vessels, and this will become my vessel, that is actually this entire vessel will become me, I put it together. You also have to put it together, and he has to put it together. After each one of the 600,000 attaches this vessel to himself, then we have 600,000 such corrected vessels, each one out of these 600,000 individual points he has, and then a single operation is done such that all of these individual vessels, these 600,000 individual vessels are all adhered together. This is the state of the general end of correction.

Again, what is special here? What is special here is that I never relate directly to the Creator. I meet the Creator here in my relation to the created beings, which needs to be the same as the way He relates to His creations. I have no other way to know who the Creator is, I have no other way to feel Him, His desire to benefit His creations, that's the maximum that we understand and feel. I have no other place for a rendezvous with Him, except inside the desire of the created beings, which He created, and that He fills them.

Question (Sitrin): (22:44) What is the revelation of the Creator?

M. Laitman: The revelation of the Creator is precisely the revelation of the attitude of the upper light inside of the corrected vessels, that I corrected them to be in order to bestow. There's no rendezvous with the Creator, except in the Toch of the Partzuf, from the Peh to the Tabur, as much as this place is corrected.

Question (Sitrin): (23:14) How to come to the understanding that it's possible only to reach the general collective end of correction, that there cannot be a personal end of correction? Let's say, you have 600,000 souls, and all the 600,000 souls need to relate to the other 600,000 parts, meaning one created being cannot reach the end of correction, if within him he has uncorrected parts from the other vessels. Is that true?

M. Laitman: It's true. Our friend from America is asking correctly. So, the question is the following: if I correct my attitude towards others, but the others during this time, they are not yet corrected, then there is a difference between how I relate to them, and each one of them corrects himself, that is, we never relate to the corrected vessel. Of course, I don't need them to be corrected or not corrected. I never relate, I never meet here with the corrected others. It is possible that there are souls here who have already corrected themselves, right? Do I relate to them, do I see them as corrected? No, I need to relate to them, I understand them, I feel them as not corrected, I relate to them as I am the one who is not corrected. And in spite of that I have to relate to them as the Creator. And even if I, let's say, I am the very last one, let's say they all have corrected themselves and now my turn has come, I'm the last one from the whole of history to correct myself. And then what? They're all corrected, and what about me? So how should I, that is, it always seems to each and every one that he has a complete and uniform field of work. I correct my attitude towards them, and it's not that, there is no calculation here about to what extent they're corrected.

And you can say it differently, that if a person enters spirituality, he sees all of the other souls as corrected, and he sees himself as uncorrected. You might then ask already, but nevertheless, there is the process of the generations where the will to receive grows, the general will to receive grows, and the surrounding lights accumulate, and this causes an emergence of a greater and greater egoism from generation to generation, and our state changes. It's not the way we were 3,000, 4,000 years ago when we used to live in the fields and caves, now we're living in a different way, we ourselves are different. So things do change, right? They do, but they change through those souls who have already attained, already reached spirituality, and they draw more desire, more surrounding light, and the will to receive by that becomes more and more apparent. But this is in general. With respect to each and every individual, when he enters the correction, it is truly the same picture to each one, always. When he starts, he starts from zero, and he has to go through the entire path all the way to the end.

Question (Sitrin): (26:54) To what extent is the body separated from the desires, or how close is the body to the desires?

M. Laitman: To what extent is the body separated from or close to the desires? Guf in Kabbalah, body, means a desire. The desire, our general desires, the sum total, the collection of all of our desires together, it's called Guf, not the biological body, if you take my body away from me, my desires remain, and I can work with them.

Student: Where is the closeness or the remoteness?

M. Laitman: Between the biological body, where is the nearness or distance with respect to my desires? There's no connection. There is no connection. Of course, one influences the other, but to the extent that the body grows older, it's getting older, certainly preserves his existence, and so it doesn't let his desires break out. Otherwise, all people will start running around. Have you ever seen such an image?

But rather, in our world, and in general, all of the worlds, from above down, operate according to the lowest degree in each and every degree, but it's as much as my still will, my still level is capable of, then all of the other desires exist and are operated, but on the degree of below upwards, as much as the will to receive is higher and capable, then all of the smaller desires are operated and accumulate towards it. Therefore, as a person rises on the degrees of creation higher and higher up, then also the animate and vegetative even still join it, and they become sanctified and rise together with him. So from above downwards, it's according to the low desires; from below upwards, it's according to the great desires. This is how each degree is considered.

Student: Is it correct that if we're talking about "Love thy friend as..."

M. Laitman: If I'm speaking in a way that's difficult to understand, ask me simpler questions, and I'll speak accordingly.

Question (Sitrin): (29:09) Is it true that according to "Love thy friend as thyself," then I need to relate to the friend the same way I relate to myself, and that's actually how the Creator treats me as well, right?

M. Laitman: Okay, so out of the fact that this rule, "Love your friend as yourself," and my attitude towards the Creator and the attitude towards the created beings, is a pretty simple rule, and humanity somehow, here and there, it feels that this rule exists, and this is how it should work. And many religions, many methods have sprung based on that or out of that. But in general, even today, even the modern movements or methods use this rule somehow, because it seems, it feels like this is how it needs to be.

Out of that, they certainly built all kinds of religions and methods, but this rule of "Love your friend as yourself," what it caused is out of the fact that an egoistic person processes it and discovers it, then certainly men have made out of it all kinds of such usages where, if I relate well to the other, then I'll gain something, the next world, and so forth, and the Creator will also relate to me in a better way, and so forth. And this is entirely incorrect. It's good for all kinds of religions, including Judaism, but it never happens. It never happens. And we shouldn't search here for some kind of a handsome payment in this world or in the next world. These kinds of beautiful acts will never be rewarded with any kind of a good reward, because the law is a different kind of law.

Everything is measured by the screen, and it's not that if I operate my will to receive, oh, I did so many good things in my life: I went to hospitals, I dispensed all kinds of food, I helped the patients, I donated money to different funds. And now I come to the next world. Where is it? And I get one big zero, right? It's because simply in order to receive is in order to receive. This is what I get, right?

So, on the one hand, even though humanity has grasped this idea of "Love your friend as yourself," that probably this is the most exalted thing of whatever we have in our human structure, but it uses it, it grasps it nevertheless egoistically, because it doesn't understand the altruistic form that exists above this world. “Above this world,” that we don't understand it, we don't know, we just use it. So, of course, we too, when we are now still under concealment, and we don't understand what "Love your friend as yourself" truly means, we need to focus this concept each time and realize that we cannot attain it and truly be in bestowal, in love, before the upper light appears and works on us, what we call the light of AB-SAG, and it gives us a screen. And upon that same degree of coarseness, upon that same coarseness or thickness of the will to receive that will be revealed to us, we will have a screen, and the light will be revealed to us, we will have a screen, and in the same coarseness we will truly acquire a desire to bestow, the love of others, we will become similar to the Creator, but not by any other action. Only the light builds the vessel, and the light corrects the vessel.

Question (Sitrin): (33:14) If all of my work is towards the public, my bestowal is towards the public, what do I feel in relation to the Creator? How can I be whole?

M. Laitman: This means, how do I cross my work towards the public and towards the Creator? First of all, what does it mean, towards the public? If I'll take the entire public or the whole world, even though Baal HaSulam does write about it, in this article, “Matan Torah,” “The Giving of the Torah” and the “Arvut,” if I will work in this way, opposite the whole world, nothing will come out of it, because, you understand, I have to love everyone and care for others, and the very last one who is somewhere there in the most faraway place, that he won't lack anything. And Baal HaSulam explains there that I'm not capable to take care of even my individual needs and fill them and care for them, even if I'll care for them 24 hours a day, which is what I do. So how will a person do it? It's simply impossible. That is, this decree, this commandment is entirely not one that can be implemented. So, what do we do? First of all, we don't do anything. We don't run around and we don't try to do good to anyone. The whole of humanity does that, it tries to do it, and nothing comes out of it except for bad things. Baal HaSulam writes about it in his article. Is it also in “Matan Torah,” and “The Arvut”, somewhere? He gives this example of Russia and the Kibbutzim and all of those, “The Arvut,” is it?

Student: “The Peace.”

M. Laitman: Right, “The Peace” article. So he says there that if you begin to just do good to others, nothing comes out of it. Rather, your whole thought, meaning your whole action from the beginning, should be with the intention, a directed intention to resemble the Creator. "Love your friend as yourself" is something good? Maybe. Maybe, you want to love the other, but if you just feel like loving the other, this is called a Klipa, a shell. If you feel like loving the other because you want to advance and approach the Creator and resemble Him and adhere to Him, that's already called Kedusha, sanctity. Meaning, just love, simply love, that could bring about the greatest destruction. The goal has to come first, the reason.

And if so, then in what sense, in what way should we love one another? Do I truly need to give everything to him? So he explains to us there that in that way, we will never keep even 1% of this commandment of "Love your friend as yourself," meaning, of course, this is not what it means. What it means is that I truly want to exit myself, and I truly want to enter into all the other souls, “the other,” as we call it. And then I take a group which is at the helm. Everyone walk with one head, they're similar to me, and I am similar to them, with the same intention, the same goal: to find the Creator, to adhere to Him, to connect to Him. And so we begin to work like that with a desire, with an intention that we share towards Him, only towards Him. And if we join our desires for Him and to reach Him, we're willing to give up my desires of reception towards one another in order to resemble Him so that He will bestow upon us the correction. Then within the group between us, we're dealing with what is called love of friends in order to generate a situation, a state where we treat each other the same way the Creator treats us. We don't know that He treats us well, but this is the next degree, we will discover it then. For now, we should engage in it, act it out. If I act it out, I do it as if I love the friends, as if I want to exit myself and enter into them and live within them to forget about myself and instead to be in them. Then I'm actually simulating this state, this higher degree. And then the light from that higher degree acts towards me from afar. This is called the surrounding light. And it works on me in such a way where it gradually gives me a screen. And then it enters into me through the screen and becomes inner light. And the feeling of the inner light within, that's the sensation of the Creator being within the created being. Meaning, we don't just go and act, go to give to all created beings all the abundance that we have. Yes, and we don't do that amongst the friends either. That is wrong. It's a very common mistake in the world. We, however, how to put it, we create within the group these relationships, these attitudes. And then, opposite that, we draw the surrounding light.

Student: A person who acquires a screen, does he also have some kind of a bestowal or influence through all of these senses by which he perceives reality, or is it only in the thought?

M. Laitman: Again?

Question (Sitrin): (39:02) A person who acquires a screen, does the screen also influence somehow his senses, the way he experiences reality, or is it only in the thought, when he acquires it in order to bestow?

M. Laitman: A person who's already acquired the additional sense.

Student: Yes, does it influence the way he senses, the way he now experiences, perceives reality, or is it only in the thought?

M. Laitman: A person who acquires the additional sense, called the screen or the sixth sense, as I called it, so it's easier to talk about. It's called the soul. Yes, this additional sense is called the soul. How does he feel? How does he work with this sixth sense compared to his other regular senses? They work in a very coherent way, supporting one another. There's no difference. You don't start differentiating between this world and the spiritual world, rather, you see another inner layer, deeper layer of this world, the force that activates, operates all these bodies. You look at this world and you see how each one sits, turns around, where he walks, what he does. You see these characters walking around, doing whatever the field, which is called the Creator, makes them do.

Student: With these eyes you see?

M. Laitman: No, not with your eyes. With these eyes, you see how these bodies walk around, but with the inner eyes, the inner sense, you see why they're walking around. You see that all of them are observing the commands of this light, this field, this thought. No one is wicked. Everyone is righteous. Why? Because they all keep to that without knowing why. But you, when you see them in that way, you begin to become wicked. In you, the will to receive begins to grow, and the power to act, to activate yourself differently to them. You begin to see that you're not acting 100% under the commands of the Creator. Right, they are like puppets and everything they do, it's just a big game from above, an act. You can say that from within, yes. But accordingly, you feel how different you are to them, that in you there is some inner area of free choice in joining with these commands, the thought of creation or not. And accordingly, you feel shame and accordingly you feel that you are evil, wicked. And then you make an effort to also join. But when you join them and do the same thing, let's say like them and even more than them, you're already doing that through your own choice, your own will, meaning you've already become in a sense to some degree free, free. And this freedom, you want the Creator to fill you with that freedom. It's like he says, "From before and from behind, You besieged me." You want the horse to walk alongside the rider, or rather to work with the rider, but the horse begins to understand that he is walking according to the commands of the rider. This is a feeling, revelation. It will come.

Question (Sitrin): (43:06) What is the difference between my incorporation with one friend and another friend? Is this some sort of a transition towards the goal?

M. Laitman: What's the difference if I incorporate with one friend and another not so much and a third one even less and so on? A person who begins to work with that, of course, he has various excuses and thoughts and he doesn't want, he doesn't understand. It is actually hard. And I have explained many times already that this is the difference between the short path and the long path. By the short path, well, that's a person who takes on this mission of "Love your friend as yourself" within the group, working in that in order to resemble the Creator towards the friends, which is really the only field of work that we have. However, one who doesn't do it and goes into all kinds of studies, witchcraft, Gematria, whatever sort, then he completely distances himself from the correct path. Or at the very least, he turns it into a long path. And perhaps in 10, 20 years or even more, well, you just… Baal HaSulam, think about how Baal HaSulam took these articles, “Matan Torah,” [Giving of Torah] “Arvut,” [Mutual Guarantee], HaShalom, [The Peace], they are his most important articles, and he made a newspaper out of that, his newspaper to appeal to the people. Now, how do I apply these things in the group? When I come to the group, when I'm in the group, I - well, we try to treat each other nicely, yes, no? - I try, and the group also has to respect these relationships to make them completely equal. As it says, "the Good who does good to the bad and to the good," meaning each one, well, they're not so different to each other. I need to make an effort, meaning even though I don't like the friend’s face so much, I treat him the same as I do everyone.

Student: My question is the following: what will I receive from this friend that I did get from the other friend, in what way is my incorporation different?

M. Laitman: How is my incorporation different with one friend opposed to another? I don't know, I truly don't. I don't know what type of souls exist in all my friends, it might be that those who seem good and nice to me, maybe their souls are, who knows, close to the shells, who knows? I don't take any of that into account. For me the group is the group, the group is called Israel, Yashar El, straight towards the Creator, those who yearn for the Creator, and I am together with them, and that is for me, that is my boat, that is my rocket that I go into and fly towards the goal.

Student: This means it's an amplifier of my yearning?

M. Laitman: Yes, an amplifier for my yearning, put it however you wish, but in reality there's no difference between the people in the group. You suddenly discover how these are more important, less important, you'll just discover, although there's no difference in terms of importance, but … Let's say those who you didn't really consider before, but it's not… You shouldn't think that the group that's these faces, right, the one with the bald head and the one with the beard. It's not that. The group is some kind of concept, yes? Our collective yearning to the Creator, that is the group, and I am in that yearning, on that mission. With this knowledge I want to incorporate, and it's not that I want to just be thrown physically by you, there's no… It's something that exists between us, not in each one of us, but between us, in the connection between us, that concept exists.

Question (Sitrin): (47:23) How do the thoughts operate beyond the barrier? Do they operate the same way as before the barrier?

M. Laitman: How do the thoughts operate after the barrier? Let's discuss that after the barrier, that's it. Why speak of this now? It won't give us anything, just nice words maybe, or not so clear, there's nothing to it.

Question (Sitrin): (47:53) What does it mean to execute within myself this law of "Love your friend as yourself"?

M. Laitman: What does it mean that within me I try to keep this law, or to keep the advice of the Kabbalists, "Love your friend as yourself?" What does it mean to keep it within? It means that I attempt to find the importance of the Creator, the importance of the Creator, I start from that. I talked about how we need to always start with the Creator and always end with the Creator, and the group is in the middle, as a means, meaning it's important that I have the importance of the Creator to such an extent that I'm willing to take upon myself this condition of loving the others, as a means by which to connect, to come closer to Him. And then I am ready, as he writes in the article, “The Speech for the Completion of the Zohar,” to stop thinking about myself and to emerge from my desire, my self-interest, thinking about how I am alive, I exist, to bring myself out of that and alongside all the other, all these desires, these yearnings, thoughts, to adhere to the Creator.

Question (Sitrin): (49:30) My effort to resemble the Creator, is it in the thought, in the relations, in... what's the game?

M. Laitman: What is the game? Why did I use the word “game?” A game where we seemingly love each other, willing to concede, to make concessions, to give ourselves up, as if we're ready for everything, truly, and the Creator is important to us, as if, everything is as if. But still, it's only in some specific moments that we can reach this eruption of emotion, but usually we're thinking about our lives. This is food, this is money, these are pleasures, this is rest, family, these are things in which I exist, and what is a Creator, yearning, group? It's something virtual, it's there somewhere, but it keeps vanishing, it's always not, it's not realistic.

And so, when I, despite all that, bring myself by force into such an inner state, above all this reality, this is called faith above reason, above all this tangible reality, so to speak, that exists, yes, then this state is loose, it's like a game, it's not certain, I have no senses for it, I have no proof for it, I have nothing, it's not real. And so, we act, we play at it, we don't have more data, we have no other basis upon which to do this, and so, the force that I receive in order to actually enter into that world as a real world, that is called the surrounding light, which somehow works on me from without and gradually brings me closer to that. How does it work? I don't know. It works? I don't know. Suddenly, I hear some knocking or something, and people tell me, this is a result of the surrounding light. Well, without that, people don't receive various ascents or descents?

So, all of these things, all of our states, we need to be alert to them, to give each and everything the proper measurement, the proper value. To engage in spirituality in our state, in this world, it means to engage in something unrealistic, something unclear, maybe it doesn't exist, maybe it does, but who knows? Go talk to people, for them, it's completely... Slowly, gradually, you receive some emotions, feelings of it, some importance to it, it's simulated, it's imaginary. When you enter into it, then you see that only that actually exists, and the rest of reality, anything below that, is actually, as it appears to you, the imaginary world. But that's only if you actually do that. And so, all of our preparations, we call them a game, it's like a game, and then we'll see that this game continues, it remains, through to the end of correction, and of that, it is written that the Creator plays toys with the Leviathan that He created. All the states before or below the highest state where the being and the Creator are adhered together, are called unreal, not real, or games, because the only true state that was created and which exists, that is only the state in which the Creator and the created being are adhered to one another in complete unity, and everything outside of that, it's only towards the created being as a kind of imagination, as a game.

Question (Sitrin): (53:46) What you do … It doesn't matter what you do, only the intention matters, is that correct?

M. Laitman: The person is in the group, does only his intention matter, or his actions as well? It cannot be that in our world actions have no importance. Who knows what the intentions are? The person himself doesn't know his intentions, and so the wisdom of Kabbalah is called the wisdom of the concealed. The intentions are the primary thing, yes? What for? Why? Towards what direction am I thinking, yearning, aiming my desire? These intentions are concealed from us, from the person himself, and the person never knows what his true intentions are. He can only know later, in retrospect, after the action, according to the reaction, if the action was correct, only later. And so, we must take into account the action itself. It cannot be that I... of course, over every action, even the very worst, so to speak, you can clothe a different intention. But we, in our state, in the group, because we are below spirituality, and we don't see what is beyond spirituality, we don't see intentions, desires, thoughts.

The spiritual world is a state where I see these things as real, existing things, that there is a field, one thought, unified thought, called the Creator, one plan, one desire, which works and activates everything. But before I see that, before I incorporate in that by my own desire or against my will or for the will, in whatever way, before I emerge to that level of reality, for me, the external actions of people are very important. I'm inspired by that. I see how a person is sitting behind the computer for so many hours to prepare materials, texts for others, and another one runs to hold lectures, and the third one does something else. I'm inspired by that. I still feel the bodies, and I don't see the thoughts the way I see the body today.

When I'll come to “the world to come,” as we call it, the next degree, where I see the thoughts and desires, and they, for me, I will be able to hold them, to feel them, and they will be more important to me, of course, than the movements of the body, then, of course, I will no longer need the bodies. But for the time being, it's very important within the group how we move, act, how we show ourselves towards the friends. And to do the opposite, meaning to have good intentions, but with opposite external actions, this only causes others to fail, and that's not good. I can't perform actions which are, as though I'm stealing, but the friend thinks that I'm doing the opposite, some nice action. He has to justify me. He has to think good of me. These things are forbidden for us to do, meaning towards the society, I have to appear as a good boy, a good friend, externally, and to advertise towards the society my good external activities. I went there. I did this. I did that. I have to, because that multiplies love.

Question (Sitrin): (57:56) Does the rule, "Love thy friend as thyself," does it apply to women as well?

M. Laitman: Again, the women start. No, no. Let's, women, let's wait with that. At least for Saturday, well, let us rest a bit.

Question (Sitrin): (58:17) Inaudible.

M. Laitman: So, he was asking about the stages where after I see the friend as an egoist, later I see myself as an egoist and him not, and then I feel the shame, even to such an extent where I can't look at him in the eye, I'm ashamed to look at him. I'm ashamed to see myself as one who wants to exploit him for my own enjoyments, to exploit him in various ways. And after that comes correction.

Question (Sitrin): (59:30) What happens with the beastly desires and how should I relate to them?

M. Laitman: No relation to them needs to change. Beastly desires, like all other desires, meaning the desire for food, sex, family, in general, all these desires, you don't need to contend with them. You don't need to pay special attention to them. We need to relate to them as something that exists, to the extent that I want to use them or not want to use them, that depends on the degree of my correction. I don't need to go into a monastery to be a monk in my life, or any of that, to start dieting or… In truth, there is a rule, there is no coercion in spirituality. It works on all levels, from below upwards, from above downwards, rather. If your mind, if your head is in the right place, then the hearts are drawn after all these thoughts and the actions are drawn after the hearts, that's it.

And don't be concerned with how sometimes, and I'm talking about the men, for example, where sometimes you fall into various acts which don't seem to you so great, or maybe yes, great, you follow the body, nothing. It will all be corrected, it will all be sorted out. It is called, "The mother will come and clean her son," meaning the correction will come and it won't be, or maybe it will be in a different way. Don't pay any attention to that, just put your head in the right place. Thoughts of being together with the group, with the Creator, that's it. And if something happens, on occasion it happens, it will be corrected.

If you start thinking about it and regretting how you're like this, like that, you're all bad, you'll just be in those thoughts. But this way, at least, you did something, something happened, whatever it may be, again you return to the Creator, it's over. Don't regret the past for even one moment. Always go forward. It's a rule that we simply have to engrave into our behavior, otherwise you will just be despondent, you'll eat yourselves up. It's called, "The fool sits with his arms folded and eats his own flesh." Ah, I'm so bad, I'm like this, like that, never mind that. Connect with the group, to the Creator, forget about yourself, you need to emerge from yourself, not to think about how I am, what I am and how I am and where. You don't even know who you are. You will discover, you will see. When you see in truth, then you'll be shocked. And there's nothing to think about there, it's simply wrong, it's not good. It stops your advancement. And in general, after a moment has passed, you don't think about it ever again, only forward. It's forbidden to turn around and to look behind you. It's forbidden, but only for the purpose of, well, if the group or a person determines some special time, where now he wants to perform some scrutiny over something that happened to him and how he related to that, so he sets a special time for that. It's like the Rabash, he gave an example, he had a grandma, a strong grandmother, he did something and she didn't say anything, but she said, Baruch, watch it. And after two days, she said, Baruch, come here, you remember, you acted badly back then, now I will give you some punishment, a beating. I'll try to do that. Meaning, you coldly go and examine and calculate if it needs to be done, but not with all your nerves and feelings but with the mind, when you're completely out of that feeling, emotion, outside of it.

Question (Sitrin): (01:03:33) How to be inspired from the deeds each time anew? Because every day I see my friends working. Is there some way, some method to be inspired by it each and every day?

M. Laitman: How to every time be impressed by how my friends are working, investing, I look at them, I see them every day, I'm used to it and I'm tired of it. Where can I get constant inspiration? There is no such question: from where do I keep receiving inspiration? There is no such question: how can I be impressed again and again every day by the society? Because how am I impressed every day, every moment, by the advertising that society does for me from outside? Tons and tons of advertisements are poured on me, tons, and I can't deal with that. I'm included in that, I think about that. And every time I look, because inside I'm built of a desire to receive desire and pleasure, correct? And if so, I naturally always… I'm like a radar, right? I'm always looking for where to take, where to get the best pleasure, the closest with the least exertion for maximum enjoyment. I always check that, I'm always scanning. And if a society is built in such a way where it's on fire, right, then whether I want to or not, I'll be inspired by that. I'll be impressed by the existence of this idea which gives… it might be the highest source of pleasure, right? I'll be impressed by that. That is my nature.

Student: What if it doesn't happen?

M. Laitman: If it doesn't happen, it's an indication that you are in the wrong society, the entire society received a descent and cannot awaken, activate its friends to give them upliftment, inspiration. Is it clear, yes?

Student: Or maybe that's my problem, that I'm not able to be impressed. Is that a problem also?

M. Laitman: No, we don't say that a person cannot be impressed by the society. If he can't, then we ask, we ask, how can he? And the society must do that. The society is actually the warehouse, the storage for my energies. When I am capable, I invest into the society, and when I can't, the society has to give back to me.

Question (Sitrin): (01:07:09) What changed this week that this game was good? It was easy to buy this game. What changed this week? How come this week this game, that you are talking about, was so successful? And it was also easy to believe that this is the truth.

M. Laitman: How will the game succeed this week?

Student: No, it did succeed.

M. Laitman: It did succeed?

Student: It was easy to acquire it, it didn't seem like a game, it seemed like the truth.

M. Laitman: It was easy to absorb, easy to believe in that it's true, because many people, this is an example of how we're impressed by the public, and how the public brings us all sorts of abstract ideas, completely unrealistic they may be, and we accept them as the most actual real thing. That is a fact, right? You incorporated here, with people who came from how many countries?

Student: 25.

M. Laitman: 25 countries, right? People from 25 countries. It's a wonder. Everyone of one mind, they all want the same thing. They want the same thing, they're willing to connect, willing to spend a lot of money and energy, and not one week, a year, but every day. And when they come, then that is felt. It gives power for unity, for connection and they're willing to connect with everyone, regardless of race, and color, and character, and mentality, any of that. They're willing to throw everything that relates to this world and to connect in the souls. In the soul there are no such differences, none. All souls are the same, more will to receive, less will to receive, that's it. And in whatever way there are differences in the soul, like there are differences between the heart and the lungs, the kidneys, and the digestive system, but of course, it's one body. By its actions it's all one.

That's why it was felt as a very tangible thing. It gave a great force of advertisement, of publicity, that it's like that, and it has to exist this way. And that's why we really succeeded. There are people here screaming, “Where is the barrier, where's the barrier?” In my eyes, it was a success that is beyond words, because I didn't expect that we would also ascend and descend in those days. I thought that maybe we managed to ascend and be in some euphoria and some false euphoria, relatively. For all those days and then they’ll leave crying, no, we managed to also descend and to talk about the descent and to understand how we need from this descent to exist and to emerge, meaning, we began to feel this true state and what we need to correct, what connection we need to perform, let's say. We went through this entire period, this whole thing, both the ascent and the descent together, and even from the descent we began to exit. And we saw how it is possible to sustain on to that, to hold on to that idea, even if we're not here. They left with this feeling.

When they left in Passover, they all hugged me, I was wet from all the tears, I'm serious. Today, no one kissed and no one cried. And it's the best, it's a very good sign. It's like they left as if they didn't leave. I'm talking seriously. They left in such a way where we just need to continue to work and onwards towards an ascent all the time. And in my eyes, this is a very big success. No one cried, no one felt that something was torn from him, and it's really like that. Meaning, we already began to exit the descent towards our ascent, which we built. We built the ascent, we received the descent from above upon us as a common Kli that wasn't there before. We received a descent as a common vessel. And with that, we began to all exit. And that's already a Kli, it's not one or a small group. And I didn't expect that to happen to us, I'm talking seriously. If we could succeed to somewhat similarly to do something like that with the Israeli audience, it's really a dream.

M. Laitman: (01:11:59) We will try to do this with all our might, but really that was a great achievement. If we will succeed now to do with all the groups in the world a connection such that that descent will help us, and we will hold on to it as an ascent, truly a little more, and a little more, and a little bit more, and each will hold each other in the connection between us, and we’ll constantly advance in cooperation with one another, then undoubtedly, we are already becoming one Kli. And this simply is like an entry ticket.

I didn’t expect that, I did not think about the barrier, in truth, really, between us. How can you, within one week, without prolonged work on the general descent, cross the barrier? We don't have a Kli. We now for the first time, united the groups towards one effort, towards one mission. Now, if we work on it, it will be already work on the common vessel. What could you cross the barrier upon, on what Kli? There were just individuals coming, knowing one another a little, just like it was in Pesach. It was nice, kind of an impression here and there. Now, the task, the mission was clear, and the descent against that. And now, all our work after Sukkot will be only in order to strengthen the connection and support one another, and to try to feel one another, and how together we are yearning for the same goal. So, we'll truly have a feeling of yearning and feeling how the groups are operating for the same goal, where we seemingly see and feel in this inner sense, in that inner eye, we feel and sense this one direction from all the places in the world.

If we succeed in doing this, this is truly a step towards the barrier. That's already called one nation, one group. And he explains to us in the Matan Torah, that Abraham didn't receive the Torah. Who is he? What is he? When there's already a nation that each can support each other with the same mission of adhering to the Creator, that he knows that he can throw his ego as long as he's supported and he will be able to enter into this general idea. If such a thing exists, then that's already a state where the upper light can be revealed in him, meaning the Torah can come down to such a group. And this is very impressive, what's happening. This is what was enabled for us to do from above. This simply tells me such things that I didn't dream of. There's a pretty realistic thing. And I'm in this business in 86, 87, 86 more or less, in these searches. And in 1979 I came to Rabash, meaning for a pretty long time, let's say 25 years in this engagement, in this profession. I didn't dream of all kinds of big jumps. As much as I'm anxious and on nerves and impatient, I know how these things advance. And here the advancement was simply, well, I don't know what to say, a pace that is unbelievable.

Question (Sitrin): (01:16:11) "Love your friend as yourself" and a state of war, how does it work together?

M. Laitman: What war? I didn't understand. "Love your friend as yourself" and a state of war, I don't understand. A war is when I'm battling with myself, when I'm battling with the friends.

Student: With Iraq.

M. Laitman: Oh, with Saddam Hussein, with Arafat. I don't understand the connection. All those who are outside of the group is the still, which are observing the thought of creation and there's no battling with them. Not that I'm saying, oh, let's go throw the military and just go study Kabbalah, no. But I'm saying that all the enemies or Arabs that are around us are observing the thought of creation. What do they understand? It's like puppets on strings, they're doing it in the most loyal way according to the command of the Creator in order to hasten us in our correct development. Not that I love them because of this, more or less, but I relate to them like the ones who are performing commands, obeying the command. Not that I'm happy or I'm joyous when someone's exploding and there's terrorism or something and people die. But I'm sorry that we're not going in the right way. Everything needs to be measured, weighed here, in relation to the goal, yes, measured by the goal.

You, I, all those who received a little bit of a connection to the thought of creation, towards the correction, now advancement, development depends on us. And then themselves, the Arabs, the Israelis, the Russians, the Americans, who are they? It's written that "the heart of ministers and people are in the hands of the Creator." So who are these people? What are they doing, anything? Seven billion people and what are they doing? We're just thinking about the Chinese, that they're all like robots and we're not. Why are we not? Same thing, this is the feeling, this is the first measure where a person sees that the barrier opens up for him a little bit, the screen. He sees that the whole world is simply, the way the field operates, that's how a person turns each moment, in thought, in desire, in characteristics, in the disclosure of all kinds of urges in him.

Question (Sitrin): (01:18:59) If I try to see the friend in an artificial way, and along that feel shame, so the shame extinguishes the love.

M. Laitman: If I try to love the friend artificially, and I found this artificial shame and the artificial shame turned off the artificial love, so what remains for me that's not artificial? It's not allowed to be too smart. You do and from all this work, all these games and all that, you'll start to be a good and wise child. You see how we work with the development with children. Nature operates them such that they will play, yes? They're constantly in every state, this is good, this is nice, this is interesting, and this I want to taste, and everything, a child wants everything. By that he doesn't think, he simply performs the commands of nature and develops this way. Take those commands of what's being told you and develop. It's not allowed to think what will happen if this, that, how do you know what's going to happen? What will happen is what you'll feel. Do what those who have crossed the barrier from there giving you advice, do what they tell you to do. If they wouldn't give you advice you would truly be simply helpless. But you have the advice to follow. And they told us: group, study, and dissemination, the three things that can advance a person. Start performing this as much as heartfelt as possible, and you'll see how this changes you immediately and gives you a more internal understanding of the world, of what's happening in the family, at work, at home, how the world is changing and where you are in it. You'll start to feel real advancement in a tangible way. It's not that it'll happen a thousand years later.

Question (Sitrin): (01:21:39) What does it mean to reveal how the upper light relates to the other vessels?

M. Laitman: In relation to what does it mean to reveal how the upper light relates to the other vessels? In context of what did I say that?

Student: You said that's called a revelation of the Creator.

M. Laitman: Well, yes, His desire is to do good to His created beings. I see even in the smallest degree, when I start to see how He relates to His created beings, I see that He relates to them in the best possible way, in the most optimal way at any given moment of their lives.

Student: Who is He?

M. Laitman: He is that thought that operates all of the created beings. That's how I'm talking to you about the smallest degree of revelation. The thought that is now here operating this field and where each of us is sitting in a certain way, and thinking in a certain way, and wants what? Anything that fills us in our entire level and operates us is that one thought. And towards each and every one, we execute it 100%. Because the desire in me is from that general thought. All my thoughts are from that general thought. My functioning is from that general thought. My instincts, movements, everything that now in a moment will happen to me will happen precisely according to how this field will change in relation to me. How I will naturally, in unconscious way, will decipher and perform these commands of this field. That is the first revelation a person feels, even in coming close to the barrier, not in crossing it yet.

Question (Sitrin): (01:24:06) So I have to feel thought, to feel that field. How to approach this? What should I...

M. Laitman: How to approach this? By exerting and revealing that you want to exit yourself and to incorporate in all the yearnings and desires of the society. To be not inside myself but rather outside. Because all the people who are operated in this certain automatic way from this field, from this thought, are like that because they're within themselves. And one who tries and can exit some, in some way, what is in some way, in a certain measure, I can exit from myself in 20%. Oh, that's called the world of Assiya. In 40% I can exit myself, the world of Yetzira, meaning this is how I feel this field, the Creator, this thought.

Student: What's “to come out?”

M. Laitman: To come out means, despite my desire to receive, to be outside of it. The desire to receive that is constantly being revealed in me, and I want to be outside of it.

Student: For what should we now?

M. Laitman: It's good for exercises. Please start thinking about this, start imagining, it's good. It's a game, or not a game, let's say, it's a good exercise. It's a good exercise. But there are many stumbling blocks on the way, that's why I don't so love such things.

Question (Sitrin): (01:26:14) You said that a person who passes the barrier, except for the bodies you can see souls, meaning desires. So what desires are we talking about? Can you elaborate? Or is it only a desire for spirituality?

M. Laitman: Just like I told the friend now, according to his question, what do you want me to add to that? We see the general desire called the one general force, which is called the Creator, call it Boreh, it doesn't matter. But you see one force or one thought, and according to this thought or force, everyone's operating without asking themselves, without knowing, without even knowing why and for what. And only you see how they are operating like that on the outside, that they're all being operated in an absolute manner. To the extent to which you can be above the desire, outside of your desire, you start to see it. And you see this upon others.

Now a desire to receive is being added to you, immediately when you see this, oh, how beautiful, how good, I now see everyone like this. You think that you're already above the people, boom, you start to feel, you start sinking inside the new desire to receive, and this all disappears. And then once more, work, until sufficient force accumulates, that's called to fill his quotient and it moves to a different dimension of existence. So much so that this life and death of the beastly body is not important and distances are not important. It's already a different form of existence.

Question (Sitrin): (01:28:44) We succeeded to build a common vessel. What is my work? What is the work of the Kli? What is the next degree to which we need to yearn? Can a Kabbalist altogether know what the next degree is?

M. Laitman: What is the next degree? The next degree, meaning a more powerful incorporation than we had before. So the more powerful incorporation than before needs to be that despite the distances, despite the differences, despite all the obstacles that we will each receive within ourselves, each group within ourselves, each group against the other group, we must strengthen the connection between us. That's the next degree. If we succeed in building such a connection between us, where nothing will change anything for us or disturb us, we will receive the screen.

Question (Sitrin): (01:30:05) Do certain exercises exist to take the “I”  from outside of myself, or does each search for a way for this personally?

M. Laitman: In truth, this is the private work of a person, internally and towards the group and the world. And there are exercises that one can... Let's say in the morning we sign some... I don't know, a password or some mission, and we work on it all day. It really helps and unites us and lets us unite and connect towards the intentions better. It's worthwhile. But nevertheless, the work with inside is the individual work of each person. The connection, nevertheless, of a person with the Creator is an individual or private connection. Each reaches his personal adhesion with the Creator.

Question (Sitrin): (01:31:12) Is it worthwhile to do dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah in my workplace?

M. Laitman: No. Straightforward, no. It should be clear to everyone. In your workplace we don't talk about Kabbalah.

Question (Sitrin): (01:31:35) Is there a disturbance between the friends in the group if one of them is the manager, and the second one works as one of his subordinates?

M. Laitman: It could be. It depends on their correction. It could be that at work one is the manager and one is working for him, and in the group it's the opposite. He is greater than his manager. This depends, of course, on the extent to which they can disconnect from one another, but certainly these things are not healthy. It is easiest and best for us for there not to be within the group any connections other than love of friends. Any other connections, not relatives, and not working together, and not doing anything together. The group is where we connect only by one idea. There is nothing else that connects us in some other way that binds us. And that's it. That's best.

Question (Sitrin): (01:32:40) How can we incorporate with the friends that have...

M. Laitman: Today, we still have some of our world groups here. Besides that, we have our internal group here. And now our friends from other Israeli groups are coming, and a few individual friends, somehow. How will we incorporate together? There's a force that we've been working on, a thought and a general desire, and what we've invested throughout the Sukkot, and what we invested in the preparation for it. So we need, as much as possible to connect with them. We need to help them connect to us. We need to talk about this importance. If they really want to attain something in this life, and not to go, like in the previous incarnations, kind of get buried, and no remnant remains behind, then they should join us and we should help them with that. This joining into one force, one intention, there's nothing besides that. Give them a little to drink, bring them into the song and dance circles, and we start from externality until there'll be an internal connection.

Specifically with the groups from Russia, we didn't need so much. You know much they drink? Nothing. Last time they drank liters. Today, we didn't drink a fifth of what we prepared, I think. We didn't finish maybe two liters. You know what that is? Now the Israelis will finish. Because for the Russians, specifically, they didn't need it. The heart was burning, the heart was filled with feeling. They didn't need it. They barely did the L’chaim, I saw. It was truly a wonder. I know those people. You see? And now look at the Israelis. But we must, we must simply, each of us has to exit his "I." We must, like in Purim, you know, we get drunk, it's a sign of the final correction. Yes? There's no "I," and we're done. We'll do that all night, every night. Purim, and that's it. Hoshana Rabbah is, we'll have it like this. Believe me, it'll be better. Instead of sitting and reading the Zohar, go make a connection of the hearts that will be closer to Rabbi Shimon.

M. Laitman: (01:35:50) So again, we are today in a very difficult but hard mission with the most difficult public possible in reality. Israelis, there's something, there's nothing worse, that's true. No, it's a known thing. That's why they received the Torah, and had to pass this to all the other nations, which eventually is now being revealed. The most harshest matter, a lot of shells in each and every one. You can't open it, because you open it again, and it's like another shell. Again, it's like the puppet within puppet, Matryoshka and Babushka. And you never reach the inside. We understand this, but we have no choice. This, nevertheless, is the central desire to receive the most internal one in our world, the worst one. We must try with all our might to succeed, to work against it. Each should understand who he really is from all the Israeli friends, and must kind of destroy oneself. That's it. To step upon oneself, and to rise up. So, this is what we'll engage in now. From now until the end of Saturday. Okay? That's it. To get drunk, to exit my "I," as long as we do, no matter what. And only one intention, and only one thought, and nothing should enter from thoughts and intentions that are foreign. Only in this, we're a connection together, and we now must reveal spirituality. And you will see the extent to which you'll feel this. And each and every one, I promise you, can feel today, even for a slight moment, a little, but to feel something from beyond the barrier. I'm not promising, of course, we will jump, and we'll cross spiritual degrees, but a little. So it's what is happening there, you can feel. There's enough of a quantity here, and a preparation, and all the conditions for it. It all depends on you. So let's try.

Question (Sitrin): (01:37:56) What's special about alcohol?

M. Laitman: The matter of alcohol is it disconnects you from your intellect, and you stop thinking about yourself a little. That's all.

Student: And other drugs?

M. Laitman: Drugs disconnect you from your life. Therefore, everyone's against drugs. Alcohol, if it's for the sake of something special, it helps. That's why it's customary in all cultures. And specifically in Kabbalah also. Whereas with drugs, you disconnect from the goal, you disconnect from the thought. Here, you go to do a certain… you perform an action, and you expect a result from it. You're not going to get drunk to lose yourself completely so you won't exist. You are now yearning to lose your "I." I don't know if your measure is two liters. I don't know how much. But lose your "I," not your human image. We need you, but without all the, you know, without the crap that's inside, we don't want to get rid of it. So really, we are trying, yes? Okay? It's too bad if we miss the opportunity. If we're given an opportunity from above, we should never miss it.
