Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (He Who Hardened His Heart. #74)

Passover - Main page for all chapters

1. Rav’s Introduction: (0:28) Yes, we see that it appears that the ego that we are born with, and that is growing is not sufficient. And with this we come to the wisdom of Kabbalah and even when we enter a ten and try to somehow connect ourselves to this whole system this is not sufficient. Our ego, the desire to receive has to become greater and this is called the hardening of the heart. How does this happen? Of course ultimately it is the Creator who conducts all sorts of events, big or small or collective or particular, so we would feel that we are immersed in our increasing ego. So, let's read.

Reading excerpt 74. (01:45)

2. R. (02:40) This means that one who is engaging in the spiritual work and has connection to his desire to receive that he is constantly coping with he wants to subdue this under the Creator and move from Lo Lishma to Lishma so he would feel that his ego, his Pharaoh is actually growing really strong. And there is nothing more than what grows and strengthens inside him all the time as the ego and according to the magnitude of the ego we can also measure where we are and how we progress.

3. S. (03:44) What does it mean that he hardened his heart against Israel and not against the Creator? What is the difference?

R. This means that inside that intention, that the exist in the person to reach the Creator and to reach bestowal, the connection with the friends in the ten, so here he starts to feel resistance and confusion and all kinds of conflicts that he has and this happens specifically to those who come closer towards the Creator. And they feel that they have a heart that is more blocked and obtuse and selfish and it is not that they made it so or they reveal it. Instead they discover that this is how they hardened and despite this they advance. But the Torah is teaching us in advance that all those things happening in us that the heart is becoming more selfish and it become less patient and so on all of this is because the Pharaoh in us grows, our evil inclination grows and shows itself more and more.

4. S. (05:45) To understand better what we are talking about; my inner feeling is not how I see that friend but it is my ego that is growing as well is what I grasp from this, where can I see the greatness?

R. Greatness of what?

S. Of the Creator?

R. The greatness of the Creator is inside the steps that we are making forward and we begin to grow against the disturbances, that we are asking the Creator even though he is giving us the disturbances and through the disturbances we can rise towards the goal but we are asking him for strength and for the opportunity and possibility to overcome those disturbances and to collect more forces and move more and more forward towards the goal. And accordingly we can see how much we progress meaning you can measure our process, our path, our progress according to the disturbances that we reveal.

5. S. (08:01) It says that Pharaoh is hardening his heart and that it is even when he was saying the greatness of the Creator, is it a necessary condition?

R. There are several stages in our path, in our progress to adhesion with the Creator. The first stretch is that we simply want to resist the disturbances and then there are all kinds of other stages and they're already as if going against the Creator. He who is making these disturbances for us and we fight this Pharaoh and we understand that Pharaoh and the Creator are actually the same source but towards us it keeps changing like that in order to educate us correctly towards Lishma.

S. What is this force divided into two? We have the greatness of the Creator on the other hand I say no I am not going to bow myself down, how is it?

R. That is something that you will see from practice from practical action to this is how it is going to happen that we are going to be in lowliness and with that in pride and we will be in joy and yet in sadness. All those things will come to us, it is one thing and it is the opposite and this is how the Creator is displaying this to us.

6. S. (10:22) When the hearts hardened to the extent that the hearts are harder against Israel we begin to feel more and come closer to the Creator?

R. What is the question?

S. Do we become more sensitive towards the Creator the more we harden the heart?

R. Of course everything is changing, you can say that the Creator is the force of bestowal upon us is growing the measure of sensitivity of the heart grows, so in either way we feel ourselves facing greater and greater power this is called that the heart of Pharaoh is becoming stronger and hardened.

7. S. (12:22) Can I see that the ego is acting like in a movie in front of me but I am not able to stop myself, is that Egypt? I feel that I am not able to change its course by myself?

R. That is true, this is the correct feeling. It is truthful, how it is, how the ego is unfolding according to I would say an upper program but we have to accept its development and try to be above it.

8. S. (13:14) What does the Creator want when he is hardening the heart? What language will he hear?

R. The Creator hears what you feel from the depths of your heart and that is important for him what you feel, what you want and even not just what you feel which could be not accurate instead he exist at the very inside of your heart and there he is sensing your thoughts and desires and how much you are waking up to him. And so to influence the depth of the heart he cannot do unless through the connection with the ten this is the only way, through this alternative route.

9. S. (14:32) What exactly should we pray for when we ask for the friends? That we could connect in the most powerful and precise way? For which detail we pray?

R. That you want to help them in all their movements to the purpose of creation. And the details will later unfold by themselves.

10. S. (15:16) How to distinguish between disturbances that are the result of advancement and effort and disturbances that are the result of lack of investment and lack of seriousness?

R. It is very hard to distinguish that and it is not worth while to really dig into that but each and every disturbance that is going against connection in the ten on the way is that major disturbance because this segment this part of the path dispersed first part of the path that you're going through his love your neighbor as yourself and then through the love of the creative things to the love of the Creator.

S. How to work with the evil that has been revealed? Because we cannot bear it.

R. Only together, not against it directly but only together as a group and that is easy. When you put this against that you have two approaches one of which is very easy if we understand and talk about it and we do it together whether if one person who tries to do it alone it is not good, it is not easy. He cannot even see where he is.

S. I feel selfish, I feel that I am bad. What to do?

R. You want to connect to the friends who also feel something similar and together with them you wish to overcome and to make that step forward. And the steps forward are in being more and more connected between you and from you to the Creator.

Reading 75, twice. (17:27)

11. S. (20:27) Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice? I am never asking myself such harsh questions, I'm afraid to ask such questions so is it possible to progress without being so skeptical?

R. Why do you need to be skeptical? We have a plan ahead of us, we have a map and we have to progress. And just as when you embark on a journey with a map in your hand and based on this map you have to progress on the way until we come to the goal. So why would it be good to be skeptical? I already know in advance that there are certain segments and stages on the path that I have to go through and what's going on and who is setting up this path, who is orchestrating and who is waiting for me at the end so I do not need to be skeptical, I have to be joyful every moment because every step I am making forward brings me closer to the one I need to become alike and cling to, and enter into an eternal connection with, so how could I be skeptical?

12. S. (22:25) What does it mean to trust the Creator in our work in the ten?

R. To trust the Creator in the work in the ten this is called that in everything and every movement of ours from this moment on until the final correction meaning until the complete adhesion to the Creator we, each time further and further rely on the Creator. We do not need anything besides feeling that we are under his governance. Meaning our first movement, the very first movement, our action is to nullify our ego. The ego that is governing me in this very moment and also do all that the Creator wants from me and in this way each and every step forward I nullify myself more and more, take on the conditions of the Creator, I adhere myself to them and this way I advance. So that ultimately I am completely bonded with the Creator to the point that you cannot even tell the difference between me and him. But all this happens in the group. Meaning I have to proceed the adhesion with the Creator with the adhesion in the ten. To nullify myself towards the friends in our progress and that is how I advance through connection with the friends in the ten to the connection with the Creator, towards complete adhesion with him. This is basically what concludes our path.

13. S. (25:35) This question who is the Lord that I should obey His voice sounds like a question that comes from an inside need. What do I have to develop in me so I can hear His voice and come to equivalence of form with Him?

R. Try to feel that the Creator speaks from within your heart and what do you reply to your heart? How do you connect to the friends so as to reply to the Creator in the most complete way? Try to talk this way through your heart, you and your heart and then you will see that it’s not the same, it’s not the same as you had before.

14. S. (26:50) Can you skip this degree with the question of who is the Lord that I should obey His voice by incorporating with the friends because there are those who by their upbringing this question follows them. Where would they go? So can you skip this question by incorporating with other friends in the ten?

R. By incorporation with the friends you can come in the most direct way to the final correction in the shortest path. Go ahead, everything is right before you.

15. S. (27:47) The friends are trying to scrutinize if you can avoid this state where a person asks himself who is the Creator that I should obey His voice.

R. No, who is the Creator that I should obey His voice, it’s not the person asking, he feels that the developing nature within him is demanding that. Why should I listen to this? I have to study, I have to do all kinds of things, I have to take on all kinds of limitations. Let's say those are the kind of questions.

S. But in the process a person should reach a poignant stage where this question is clarified, who is the Lord that I should obey His voice or can you skip it by incorporating with the friends?

R. No he has to clarify how much he is facing the Creator, opposite the Creator, how much he doesn’t love the Creator, even hates the Creator, is opposite to the Creator. And that all the Creator activates towards us as conditions for progress, how much we detest it. So we have to advance through opposite forces.

16. S. (29:30) When we understand faith above reason it’s that our power of annulment is the power of the Pharaoh?

R. I didn’t hear the whole question, just a part of it. Repeat please.

S. When we have faith above reason, when we feel faith above reason do we cancel Pharaoh’s power?

R. In faith above reason we certainly neutralize the power of the Pharaoh because in faith above reason I’m already in the same quality as the Creator, based on my degree of course but for now by this I already nullify the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh holds within reason and I hold in faith above reason.

17. S. (31:05) How can we work in the ten with the ego as when everything that I discover I can do is annul myself. So what’s the meaning of working with my ego with my friends in the ten?

R. Both with the ego and against the ego I work towards the ten, towards connection with them and that’s how I advance.

18. S. (31:56) The two actors and Pharaoh as mentioned in the excerpts are these are different qualities, how to distinguish them?

R. We’ll learn this later on. First of all they have to feel that they open up within us, who are these qualities that appear within us and we’ll advance through our war with them or in connection with them.

19. S. (32:45) The second obstructor against Israel it’s not clear who it is exactly?

R. We’ll look into that, this is something we truly haven't begun to deal with.

S. Is it closer to us compared to the first obstructor?

R. No.

20. S. (33:22) How to annul yourself before the friends or simply make efforts and the details of the action will be revealed later? In other words what is annulment? Is annulment becoming a zero or is it the greatest action one can do on ourselves?

R. Annulment means when I nullify my reason and I accept the reason of the group, this is annulment. So my reason is opposite, it’s in conflict and I don’t agree with them; I have only two paths either to express my disagreement and follow it or to accept their reason and follow them. So I nullify myself and instead of accepting my reason I accept the reason of the group. This means that a person nullified himself.

21. S. (34:40) The question who is the Creator that I should hear His voice, is that question coming to me directly? Let’s say I decide not to go to a meeting or a lesson and instead go somewhere else. Did I not already answer this question negatively?

R. If you don’t want to listen to the Creator? Because all the thoughts that come to you and all the feelings that come to you arrive from the Creator. If you, as if refuse to fulfil them or follow them, that means that you’re here against the Creator, meaning you’re going your way.

22. S. (35:38) The first excerpt confused me a little bit, Rabash described Pharaoh as having a heart.

R. Heart, of course he does. It is written that no one but the Creator hardened the heart of the Pharaoh.

S. Yes but it confuses me because you always say the Creator is good who does good for the wicked and the good so how does He depict Pharaoh?

R. The Creator loves Pharaoh because through him he can bring us closer to Himself.

S. But isn’t Pharaoh the one who’s supposed to feel that He’s good? Pharaoh doesn't feel the Creator is good in him.

R. This I don’t know. I’m talking about human beings, that to the extent the Creator wants to bring the human closer He sends him all kinds of forces and events against himself and then He brings him closer. It’s like what we sometimes do with children to awaken them, to make them more sensitive to what we’re talking about. So we talk about how we somewhat scare them and then bring them closer and by that their senses, their feelings open up and they better and better feel our attitude towards them. Try to see these things a bit more in our life.

23. S. (37:42) Following the question about annulment when there’s one opinion in the ten it’s very easy to annul my opinion before their opinion but when there’s a variety of opinions do I have to annul my opinion before the opinion of each individual friend?

R. I think so, what’s the problem, as long as I have an opportunity to nullify myself.

S. It doesn't matter what the friend says I annul my opinion?

R. Yes, the main thing is the opportunity to nullify myself and it doesn't matter what I get for that.

S. So I need to do it in order to bestow contentment to the Creator, for the sake of the goal?

R. Before you are two options, either you don’t nullify yourself or you do, that’s all. You can’t check what’s better and what’s worse and what opinions are more or less. You also can’t discover whether you’re bringing contentment to the Creator or not and where exactly. But with these two options if you nullify yourself towards the friends then you’re certainly doing the right thing. And if you feel that only you think this way with a clear view, that you’re certain that you have to do this but everybody else is in a different view and you nullify yourself, then you gain even more and you grow even stronger. Now this needs to be learnt, it’s not something that you can just go ahead and start doing, we have to get used to it.

24. S. (40:40) About the scrutiny from before: if I nullify myself before any opinion in the ten, how do I get to the true scrutiny?

R. If I nullify myself towards the ten I am in truth to the extent that according to my mind that I feel it’s against my reason, that it’s against my emotion, that it’s all wrong. But if there’s a ten in front of me and they think differently I accept that, and from that moment on I try to think and do what they demand of themselves.

S. Can you give me an example so I understand it?

R. There is nothing to understand here. You just have to recognize what is your reason and what’s the reason of the friends and try to turn your reason to the reason of the friends.

S. But if I have contradictions left inside of me from annulment?

R. Eat them up.

S. At some point these contradictions will settle down?

R. I don’t care, so they won’t. Later on they’ll turn into Mount Sinai.

25. S. (42:31) What does it mean that Pharaoh saw the might of the Creator and did not repent?

R. Because that’s his role, Pharaoh is really following what the Creator demands from him. It’s the same force of the Creator except that he has to play that role in order to bring up the person.

26. S. (43:21) To continue this scrutiny about the annulment in the ten, let's say that the ten is doing an action for the world Kli and there are clear directions but friends in the ten have different opinions. How do I annul my opinion, do I need to annul it, what do I do in that state?

R. You need to help the ten reveal its opinion and then before everyone you tell them that you’re willing to leave your opinion and accept their opinion, just as Rabash writes, one against ten.

S. What does it mean that the ten reveals its opinion?

R. They say we think, we need to do, so on and such and such.

S. Even though we have clear directions of what to do from the world Kli?

R. I don’t know what you’re talking about. There is direction from the world Kli, from Rabash, from Baal HaSulam, from me. The ten has to ultimately reveal its opinion. If its opinion is opposite to yours then you have to change yourself and agree with the opinion of the society. Read once again Rabash’s articles about the society.

27. S. (45:20) Trust the Creator above us, He will complete the job for us?

R. Whatever He does, I don’t know. The main thing I care about is doing what’s required of me, that’s why the question is not really a question. What will happen afterwards I erase completely from the horizon.

S. How can we trust the Creator? When we trust that He will help?

R. It’s possible to trust the Creator to the extent that you trust the friends because the Creator is inside the friends. The more you discover their heart, the general heart, the all-inclusive heart, in that you can feel the Creator, connect with Him and be incorporated with Him.

28. S. (47:00) About annulment can we say differently that annulment is lowering the importance of my opinion before the opinion of the group because I cannot nullify my opinion fully, that opinion exists in me nevertheless but to lower the importance of my opinion relative to the other friends in the group is possible. Is it a game of annulment?

R. It is possible but correct your microphone.

29. S. (47:59) Following the scrutiny it seems that there’s no difference between who is the Lord that I should obey His voice and who is the friend that I should obey his voice. Is there a difference between them?

R. In the end, no there isn’t.

30. S. (48:21) The ego of the ten and the group is a source of fear. How to work correctly with it in order to trust the group and yourself in it?

R. Constantly agree with the group, constantly constantly agree with them, even when it seems to you that they are not right at all.

31. S. (48:56) Can I ask a practical question about the morning lesson around annulment? There are friends in the ten who think we should be in our room in the Arvut system even if there are only one or two friends and there are friends who think that as long as there are no more than four friends in the room with open cameras we should go to other rooms, and about annulment we don’t know what’s correct to do. What is the best way to be in the morning lesson?

R. The most important thing in the morning lesson is to be together as much as possible. Even this division into groups, tens that I have before me as you see it now, I don’t think it’s going to last for a long time, we’ll have to go to a new style of connection but that’s later. The main thing is to maintain the connection between us, the connection as much as possible.

32. S. (50:21) About annulment is it possible, is it important to express my opinion before annulling myself or I don’t need to?

R. You need to, you need to nullify yourself as much as possible so that it will be clear to the group that this is what you’ve done.

S. She’s asking if she also should express her opinion. Besides nullifying her opinion does she also have to contribute her opinion in the discussion?

R. Typically yes, that way you should become closer to each other and understand each other better. In the wisdom of Kabbalah we connect in a single heart and the single heart is eventually the Creator, we have to be close to one another.

S. So it’s not that the person becomes muted and he is cancelling his opinion and becomes like a doormat and that's it?

R. No, no, no. On the contrary he gets to see how he opens up like a rose. We have in the Zohar the story about the rose, we’ll learn about it, what does it mean to open yourself up.

33. S. (52:05) To nullify, is it like making concessions for the friends or is it something else?

R. To make concessions and to annul are actually two different things. We don’t feel the difference between them but gradually we’ll understand. We’ll have moments of one and moments of the other.

34. S. (52:40) We really like the topic of annulment in our ten, it’s not just concessions but let's say some contrast appeared in the opinions between the friends and I recognise I can’t stand the friend’s ego and she cannot stand mine. The annulment is when I put myself out of the way completely to see through her view, through her eyes?

R. Yes.

S. What is the next step?
R. The next step will be the same but on another level.

S. So we go deeper more and more and more?

R. More and more until you annul your ego completely.

35. S. (53:29) Here is a scenario. Yesterday I received a little bit of strength to do the work and today I no longer want to go and connect with the friends. I think I already have some contact with the Creator, why do I need to engage in that? Is that called the heaviness of the heart?

R. How do you even think of advancing if you’re not advancing towards connection with the friends?

S. I feel fulfilled, that everything’s good with me and I’m fine.

R. Everything is good with you but that is not spiritual, it’s not good in spirituality I’m telling you this for certain.

S. That’s exactly what I want to ask. I can not pay attention. I can miss even if I have such thoughts, if I feel full.

R. Before you enter the group, before you come to the group in the morning, let’s say you aim yourself: why are you coming there, why, what for, what are you yearning for, what do you want from the Creator, from the group, from yourself? In what way do you want to see yourself after the lesson, after the meeting, after the gathering, after our meal? In what form and in what way do you want to see yourself? Only in this way can you begin your work with the group.

S. If I can add something more specific, I try to connect with the friends and where I can’t understand I try to put myself in the place of the friend and ask the question from there. So the heaviness of the heart, when I have that I can even go without this question meaning the heaviness is when my concealed state is hidden from me. Do I understand this correctly or should I ask later on?

R. The important thing is to continue and try nevertheless to ask yourself why am I coming to the lesson, to the group, to connect with them, what do I want from them? The deeper question is what can I give them?

S. So if just a little is sufficient for me then I come and go but if nothing is sufficient then I don’t disconnect.

R. What are you giving them each and every moment and what are you yearning to receive each and every moment from them?

36. S. (57:24) Along with the burdening of the heart does my work become more difficult or easier because I have more reasons to ask the Creator to fight for me?

R. Here it’s a different kind of work. For the Creator to finish work for me, for the Creator to wage war for me? What kind of conditions need to exist between us, between me and the Creator so that the Creator will do the work for me? In restriction, screen and reflected light I need a great deal of investment as a preparation from me to receive help from the Creator in the form of the reforming light and for me to feel it and to know how to work with it. And then the Lord will finish work for me.

S. So this way in my work the exertion grows, the suffering grows? How is growth of the work expressed?

R. The more you advance you can say that you are working, you have more work with your greater egoistic desire, the work becomes harder and it demands greater scrutiny, more mental effort, more emotional effort, that’s correct. The same with our lives when we look at children, how much trouble they go through, they cry, they yell, they beat each other up. What kind of problems they have compared to the problems we have. This is how we grow up.

37. S. (59:46) Before I express my reason, should I express my reason to the ten or should I shut up?

R. If you annul completely before the ten and everything works itself out, you’ve reached a decision, the final decision but you still need to scrutinize something you can ask them and scrutinize together with them. In principle I need the ten so that I will change. Therefore it doesn't matter what’s before me, I take upon myself the desire of the ten, the authority of the ten and I'm certain that I took the correct step in the direction of the Creator. And even if not He will correct me.

38. S. (01:01:05) We have the fear that the Creator will give me some addition soon and I will have to accept it correctly?

R. Don't be afraid, look at your friends, look at the many people around you. Why are you afraid?

R. I agree but I don't have such fear for them, meaning I'm not afraid for them, I am afraid for myself that I want to correctly receive and adjust everything towards connection.

R. What about them, taking it correctly or incorrectly, you are not afraid of that?

S. I haven’t entered that yet.

R. Meaning you have to hold one another together in such a way that no one makes a mistake, start from that.

39. S. (01:02:09) We heard that we need to reveal the reason of the ten, what is that, is it the majority in the ten?

R. No, not the majority, the ten is a ten, no less, no more.

S. Meaning either way we have to achieve the single reason of the ten, one view, one opinion?

R. Yes, you have to discuss it and to decide but eventually you have to write the common decision, otherwise you don't have the ten, no Kli.

S. And if we don't achieve the common opinion then what do we do if the ten cannot come to that?

R. If you can't come to that decision it's not a ten, it is just a group of people.

40. S. (01:03:20) When I ask myself what can I give to my friends I always reach the words of Rabash, that I can't give them anything besides prayer, is that the final answer?

R. You need to give them all of your heart, all of your brain, meaning you have to be in total agreement with them in your thoughts and in your feelings.

41. S. (01:04:02) Following the question of the friend, this chain of actions to express my view in the ten and to open myself like a rose: can you describe this inner process?

R. No, you, yourself, you have to discover it but to know that there is that need before you, that necessity.

42. S. (01:04:45) After the action of annulling towards the ten I basically tell myself that the Creator is working to my benefit, the ego resists suffering and what to do with this thought?

R. I do not understand what you are saying?

S. I nullify my opinion towards the ten but the ego tells me that the tens view is better for me, so it's easier for me, so it turns out that I don't really open the way I should?

R. And if the opinion of the ten is opposite to your opinion?

S. That's the situation but I tell myself that the Creator works through the ten for my benefit. The question is whether these are thoughts that ruin the whole annulment or that is okay as well?

R. Do you wish to connect to the ten with their opinion?

S. So to scrutinize that okay, thank you.

43. S. (01:06:03) We talk about annulment towards the friends in the ten and coming out of yourself, your ego, Egypt, is it even possible to exit yourself and completely nullify towards the friends without conditions that it won't be a constant game, like endlessly running, chasing your own tail? Can you just once and for all exit yourself towards the ten?

R. Yes, it is completely possible that is what we attain at the end of correction.

S. I want to understand how to even long for it. What is that goal?

R. You have to yearn for it in each and every moment because by that you erase your ego, you destroy it, you acquire in its place a general vessel.

44. S. (01:07:14) Am I supposed to nullify myself even when I hear extreme things, even words that are against bestowal and connection?

R. No, if you see that this is really what they think, you have to get into this discussion and clarification together with them. Annulment doesn't need to be before I feel and understand what is their opinion; I have to clarify that. I have to do that against my mind and emotion and nullify myself by checking what is their reason and checking whether it's correct or not and how much I'm capable or incapable; the annulment has to be done responsibly.

45. S. (01:09:09) During the time of the Congress there was a complete trust in the friends and thanks to the lessons and the investment of the friends in the work in the ten the heart is filled with trust towards the Creator. The question is: if there is this complete feeling of balance, how to help the friends, what to ask for?

R. For the Creator to reveal the hearts to them.

46. S. (01:09:50) When I feel bad, unbearably bad because the friends don't want to connect between them or with me I cry to the Creator after our meetings for hours, really pouring my heart like you teach us to do and I cry a little, yell a little, He hugs me: do I need to calm down with that or should I try to see some deeper connection and prayer towards the friends?

R. You need to, I don't know how, how do you connect or how do you beg the Creator to connect to the friends, I don't know. I think that you need to evaluate these states again so they will be shorter, more intense and for you to be able to work with them practically. Think about it.

47. S. (01:11:20) Also, I wanted to ask when I see the friend like he's all emotional and asks about different states and I feel like a million kilometers away, the closer we get, the farther we feel. The last time I asked a question was about a year and a half ago and I see how he's asking questions and I observe that so what is going on and how to work with that what the Creator is showing me?

R. The Creator is showing you that maybe you don't have independent work before the lesson you need to read the text that we go through. Go over that we're going to read throughout the lesson and write down questions you have from them and afterwards you need to participate in the scrutiny, the scrutiny of these questions.

48. S. (01:12:38) Should we feel how we help each of the friends hold on to the annulment by entering the heart of the friend as the ten?

R. You should do it, it's good.

49. S. (01:13:13) What happens to my reason and the reason of the ten in the lesson if I come with precise questions or if I come without questions?

R. It is recommended to read before the lesson the material that we are going to be studying in the lesson but be careful it doesn't take away from my interest in the material so that later I won't even hear it and I won't enter the scrutinies together with the ten. It is recommended to perhaps write those questions, take them down and then we will advance more, more practically.

50. S. (01:14:20) I have a question for a long time, every time in the lesson when I try to exit myself completely and replace myself with the friends the ten, I notice that after some time I start feeling very bad, even physically, when that I detach from this action, it happens from time to time, for months now. I don't know what to do with it, how to change it and whether these are correct actions I'm doing?

R. You need to feel that nevertheless, you are in the Creator. Even if you can't feel it He is nonetheless close to you. You should yearn to feel yourself inside of Him like a child or even an embryo in a mother's womb, so try it.

51. S. (01:15:43) When you say about the scrutiny in the ten, that the sum of the thoughts of the friends is the summary of the ten what everyone is thinking?

R. Well think about it.

52. S. (01:16:16) When I receive a hardening of my heart and I try to annul to my ten, how do I know that I'm doing something good for them?

R. Only if you're close to the ten.

S. Close to the ten means that I serve them?

R. The way Rabash writes it.

53. S. (01:17:00) The question is about the annulment: I thought I am supposed to annul myself to the reason of the ten in a general way, it is easier to explain it but sometimes when we are ten, egoistic people trying to annul it becomes too difficult and it seems that only by a miracle we can do it. How can we come to the real annulment, when we feel that we are ten very different egos from each other trying to connect?

R. It doesn't matter. What is important is to the extent you want to reach annulment of each and everyone and that in that point of connection between you, there will be zero and there won't be there, not the will to receive and not even the will to bestow, it is still for the time being egoistic and nothing; only to feel that we are zeros. And that we want in our special, absolute zero to feel the Creator. That is the place for the beginning of our relation, that I annul myself towards all the friends and by that it's considered that I annul myself towards the Creator.

54. S. (01:19:16) To continue the question from Kiev 3: in this state when we fall apart and we overcome that with the help of our friends and what is given to us, so this is the time for gratitude and going back to do the work?

R. Yes, we didn't scrutinize between each other this new point of work and then continue.

55. S. (01:20:00) I need to justify the friend for annulment of ego. How do I find the strength for that?

R. If you don't have these forces then pray, ask for from the Creator; that is what I can say.

56. S. (01:20:47) Today we hear a lot about the reason of the group: to discover the reason of the group is to discover the Creator in the ten?
R. No, but it's close to the opinion of the Creator in general.

57. S. (01:21:15) I wanted to ask from the perspective of recognition of evil about the question of Pharaoh if I may. We learn that prior to the correction, everything is basically the intention to do good for ourselves. My question is: what is the pleasure for the Pharaoh inside a person when it stands before the Creator, who is this Lord I should obey to?

R. The Pharaoh and the Creator are actually the same force. That these two forces are seen by a person in order to educate him, in order to raise him and that is how we grow according to the story that Moses goes to Pharaoh, goes to the Creator in frustrations and scrutinies and that is what we need too.

S. Yes, this is clear I think but I wanted to ask in the ten for instance, when a friend has some view and I oppose that view, I have many justifications, that I think that I'm right and he's wrong but basically if I understand correctly, my only intention is to do good for myself so in this resistance I am trying to have some self-joy, am I correct?

R. It depends what it's referring to. If it's referring to the group existing towards some organized efforts or meals or all kinds of holidays that is one thing you need to scrutinize that and not to just let it flow as it is. If it's talking about relationships with the friends, then you need to wait, examine and it's possible that you are right and that the friend is right and it's possible that both of you are right. And then you need to possibly scrutinize this in the group, if yes, and these are things that you need to give them time.

S. I understand so we have to make a distinction between the conducts between us and the relations between us?

R. Yes.

S. We see that when we work with the friends these questions arise so this is actually a gift that the Creator gives the person. It is not a hardening or burdening?

R. Of course, without this between us and the group we won't advance. It's written, ‘from the love of others to the love of the Creator.’

S. Why is it that an uncomfortable feeling arises from these questions rather than a feeling of joy and love between us and greatness?

R. Our ego is playing with us and giving us an opportunity to be even more flexible.

S. What is there in this force in the work of above reason that gives the person these superhuman forces? I don't know how to explain this?

R. Of course because it's above reason. When I go above my ego and want to connect with the Creator and receive His opinions, His thoughts to an extent I rise to His degree.

S. Basically these forces both Pharaoh and other ones, it is all the Creator, right?

R. Yes, of course.

S. He's leading me to be closer to Him, more attached to Him and I basically don't feel it: so what is the prayer?

R. Your prayer is to annul towards the group and to receive from it the opinions and strength and by that you will advance more. You will have more questions, more problems and on them you want to rise to the mountain of the Creator.

S. It always feels to me that at this point the Creator is standing before me, asking me how much do you want Me and what is my answer here?

R. All the way.

S. What does it mean all the way?

R. To what extent do I want the Creator, to what extent do I want to be in contact with Him, all the way or you can say until Ein Sof.

58. S. (01:27:00) You said that if you don't reach an agreement you're not a ten, for instance in our ten there's a lack of decision about something for a few months already, so how can we reach an agreement?

R. It's possible there isn't a decision and won't be for a year or two.

S. So how to come to that?

R. You can't reach all the decisions today.

S. What is the difference if there is no decision or agreement because no one agrees or there is no decision or agreement because everyone is annulling to, he's ready to annul to that but there is no one view here?

R. So, all of that expression is worthless.

S. What should we do?

R. Don’t do anything yet, you can’t yet solve these issues.

S. Are we not a ten?

R. A ten but not yet scrutinized to the next degree.

S. {No translation}

R. What you want is clear to me but why can't you understand that we can't advance according to what we feel like. There are degrees upon which we can rise, there are degrees upon which we can’t rise, we can't and what do I do? Where I am and I gather the forces in proof.

S. It's simply a strange state because we think we're a strong ten and there's something we can't reach for a month already now, we don't know what to do about it?

R. A strong ten; what children.

S. What does it mean that our ten is strong in our state? Maybe it will take us a hundred years to be a real ten?

R. You should want to be, that’s good, you should want to be a hero.

S. How can we help this ten, for instance other tens?

R. We're all together, we're all helping each other, we're always scrutinizing, going from one to the other, from one ten to the next and that is how we will reach these corrections, most important is to not stop.

S. And can such a ten, I don't know, be helped by another ten maybe to invite them to a gathering of friends so we can have a connection that scrutinizes this point they can't scrutinize on their own or shouldn't we?

R. During the times of Rabash it wasn't a custom, you need to read, you need to learn from what we read or either through understanding or through the light that's reforms but we need to get this additional mind and continue.

59. S. (01:30:30) Giving my opinion is also contributing to the ten. If I annul myself I don't want my opinion. What is the opinion of the ten if they all annul each other out?

R. That I don't know what to say, if no one is saying anything then no one is saying anything. We need to nevertheless, to reach a state that each one speaks for everyone, and that from that we discern, from that we discern the general opinion, mutual one, the average one. Even if we don't speak about it at the summary of the gathering, somehow from this discussion it's so this becomes each and every one, some kind of summary.

60. S. (01:32:00) I need a physical state that stops me from being connected to my friends on the path in order to feel I need it? I don't know how to get this deficiency even without this disconnect. What should I do?

R. You should think by what are you going to advance to the purpose of life and you will see that other than connecting with the friends and discovering in the center the purpose of life; you have no other way.

61. S. (01:32:50) When there is a dispute between two friends will it be correct to have a scrutiny in the ten in order to understand the real view of the ten about this dispute?

R. Sometimes yes, sometimes no, I can’t say.

62. S. (01:33:40) How to find the center of the moment between us without us scrutinizing something?

R. How to find the center of the annulment?

S. Without talking about it?

R. You can't, you can't. Where will we connect together in one heart in one desire that is?

63. S. (01:34:13) What is the connection between Pharaoh and adhesion? In our heart we're asking for adhesion and the Creator's answer’s to increase Pharaoh in our life. How can we think this will help by two hands without entering sadness or self-pity?

R. That you need to find the path, ask yourselves a few times and let's see.

64. S. (01:34:48) We're talking a lot about how to express our view in the ten but how to listen to the friends and how to hear them? How to shift from expressing my view to really hearing and feeling what the friends are saying?

R. Try and come closer, there is nothing to say here. I need to feel the friend that he is like my baby, that I listen to what he wants and I want to make him happy and hug him, warm him and so on. And by that, by all kinds of forms of advancement, eventually I open my heart to hear what he's saying; to understand what he wants.

65. S. (01:36:10) You had told us that Rabash had a hard time even eating. I discovered things that used to be a pleasure for me and I did them easily but now give me no joy, even meeting friends, how to open my heart and how to build the right intention in such a case?

R. I don't know, I don't know what to tell you. Imagine for yourself that you have ten friends and you want to cry in front of them, to tell them about what pains you and that they will pity you, will tell you, will hug you, will comfort you, will share with you what they experience, what you experience with them, that's what a person wants so try, try and open for once.

S. However this is reception for myself? How to build it as bestowal?

R. You are offering them to open their hearts, to open their hearts and there is nothing here to turn around as reception or bestowal and so on. You want your heart to open and that is the most important thing.

S. Meaning I give them an example?

R. Yes.

66. S. (01:38:10) When I annul to the view of the general view of my friends, I usually remain with the feeling of rejection. Why does the Creator make this feeling inside of me?

R. Continue and you will find the answer yourselves.

67. S. (01:38:53) We could really feel how every ten in the world is in this scrutiny. What should a ten remember while scrutinizing this? What is the goal?

R. Only to be included one with the other, only to be included one with the other.

S. When a ten comes out of the scrutiny, what should every friend feel in his heart, what should he feel?

R. He needs to feel that he is included with all the friends and that they have some mutual feelings.

68. S. (01:39:42) You said that we have to go through this situation in a more intensive way. Can we say that when one goes through the state in an intensive way and my final goal is the feeling of adhesion but in this adhesion is there some work? How do I take a decision and after dig deeper in my ego to be in a more advanced state?

R. That will come by itself.

69. S. (01:40:26) I have had this question for quite some time. When there are thoughts, let's say heresy from the friends, how should we relate to it? Should we justify the friends, should we do it maybe otherwise?

R. Just like we would relate to our child, to our girl, that is how we should relate to it, try to correct her softly.

70. S. (01:41:32) It's written, ‘To come unto Pharaoh’ and it's also written, ‘Who is this? Who is the Lord that I should hear His voice, that I should obey.’ The question is, working for Pharaoh means to stay under the control of the ten and using his questions in order to advance in the ten?

R. If we are annulling toward the ten, that is considered that we are annulling toward the Creator, not towards Pharaoh. Think.

71. S. (01:42:46) We say that we're not throwing away the crimes, we're covering them by connection and love. What does it mean to reach one view in the ten?

R. One view is that it is revealed to everyone the purpose of creation in a way that everyone agrees to it. That is called one view, one opinion.

S. The result is connection, love?

R. Yes.

72. S. (01:43:30) Can I have advice please? If the tens don't have certain times of scrutinizing itself and deciding decisions or having discussions is that okay or should we have times?

R. You need to scrutinize why there are such times and why there aren’t, that’s it. It’s possible that someone there is pressuring, someone there is determining and then the ten doesn't want to enter such scrutinies. You need to think, it needs to be carefully scrutinized.
