Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (Pithom and Raamses - Arei Miskenot [Cities of Affliction]. #87)

Passover - Main page for all chapters

1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:35) When we come to our spiritual development there is a new field of work before us of getting to know our connection with the Creator. How we enter into a mutual connection and out of our acquaintance with the Creator will begin to build a new form of relationships to the world, to ourselves to the upper force. All of that is called building cities, meaning structures, buildings. It's not made of anything material of course or it's not made of wood or stones or anything like that. Rather, just like before we didn't know how to build a relationship with the Creator, we are now starting to know it. What the Torah is teaching us is that we are entering a relationship that has all kinds of forms. Not all so pleasant perhaps for clearly understood or familiar but that's what we call 'cities of affliction' in the Torah. Why are they called 'cities of affliction', we will see.

Reading excerpt #87 (02:51) “This is as it is written..”

2. R. (05:04) Meaning there is such a time when we just enter Egypt where we get to know the will receive  face to face and we call it the work in Pithom and Ramese. Everything that they invested that they put into their spiritual advancement seemingly swallowed into the ground as if it was gone. When they thought that they were rising from the self from dominion it was renewed. They have no intention to bestow. Seemingly it is as if they are starting the work anew.

Each day when we get up we feel that we have to start all over again. This sign is actually a good sign. It's a sign that we are starting to connect in a new stage in our work. We don't quite know how to take it but that's what the Torah is telling us. What is it saying? Meaning that each time they have to work like the matter of Pithom and Rameses. Meaning that each day they have to work anew, that is each day they feel as though today they begin the work of holiness. They felt as though until now they had never engaged in the work, in overcoming the will to receive. They asked themselves, what is the working labor that they had done vanish? They do not know what to answer. It was said it all, they all sank and it was swallowed into the ground. We need to seemingly start each day anew.

That's what we feel about these people who do not understand this form of work, this manner of work. They run away, and they think that they haven't done anything yesterday and before today, and it's been a long time and it's going to be the same tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Why should I stay in this work? I want to see the fruits of my labor. I want to know what I have accomplished today, what I'm going to achieve yesterday and today . I'm not going to do this work.. I am not making the right calculations about my life and those who think this way they leave and they have no future. They continue in life like that. There are such places where we see that at the end of each day they have some visible profit. However, these people, as the Torah tells us that we have to go this way, we have to walk in such a way where the light works on us, influences us, it grows in us.

We place ourselves under the influence of the light this means that we are entering Egypt. This is hard labor, this is the work of slaves people agree to anything and if I have to go through Egypt then I go through Egypt and the main difficulties from yesterday to today and from today to tomorrow I won't feel any positive change in my understanding, in my awareness in coming closer to the purpose of creation, the purpose of life. Rather, if I ask myself what is happening here and what is going on I won't be able to answer. I will remain in the same state that I was in before I can't measure any changes. I don't see them. This means that everything is swallowed in the ground. It is like water and sand ,they are swallowed, and consequently a person runs off and runs away from Egypt.

3. S. (10:40) We are in Pithom and Ramese and until now we have done nothing. The only salvation for us is that there is 'None Else Besides Him'. How can I place this salvation in the hearts of the friends?

R. Simply support one another that this is how we have to get through this stage. The entrance into the working Egypt. We are going to read a few more excerpts shortly and it will become clearer how to hold ourselves, support ourselves ,and how we can go through this time. It is not a simple time because it exhausts a person.

4. S. (11:58) What is it in this work building the cities?

R. I don't know nothing was said about it yet.

Reading #88 (12:19) “When we do not want to accept faith, we fall from our state…

5. R. (13:03) In other words we are going through such a time where it seems to us that we are not advancing, that we are not moving towards the purpose of creation. We feel we are going to prophet somehow, reveal something that belongs to the spiritual world and we go through the first stage in the Exile in Egypt. The second stage in the exile is when we begin to understand that only with a power of faith we can continue, we can keep going. We need the power of faith. Building the power of faith in Egypt is called building cities of affliction. Since we are building cities seemingly a place where we can exist although it is not comfortable, it is not good, there isn't much hope that we can see up ahead what is going to happen. We are doing it because we can't imagine anything else  except when we go down into Egypt and we live and work like everyone else.

Reading excerpt #89 (14:58) “ This is the meaning of..”

6. R. (15:12) Meaning only for those who go straight to the purpose of creation because that is what they wish to reach. They see that they are working seemingly for free, that there is nothing coming to them with each passing day. Although they have a great desire and a heart that wants to reveal the purpose of creation, the essence of creation, the Creator, the truth, the essence of our purpose of life, they can do nothing about it. This place becomes increasingly more empty. The meaning of and they built Arei Miskenot ,cities of affliction. Meaning this was for Israel those who yearn to reach straight to the Creator. The revelation of the Creator, Yashar Kel, straight to the Creator.

Continue Reading Excerpt 89: "in other words, all their work during the exile.."

7. R. (16:14) Meaning from the feeling of the Creator.

Continues reading (16:19) Meaning was taken into Pharaoh’s custody.

8. R. (16:24) was swallowed in the will to receive.

Reading #89 (16:27) "and Israel remained poor, for Miskena means poor."

9. R. (16:30) They had nothing in which to fulfill themselves. They wanted to reveal to the Creator,a spiritual life and this place remained empty.

Continue reading #89 (16:43) "And they Built Arei Miskenot means poor.."

10. R. (18:38) Meaning later not immediately when they entered Egypt but after they cried and didn't know what to do and felt themselves poor or that they cannot profit or regain any knowledge or feeling from these states then they started a new stage in the work. They moved from the stage of danger where they could see no profit ,only in their ego, if they were in there a ego, this is the meaning of working for Pharaoh. Then they could feel that they had some understanding or some games, something but if they did not work in order to receive to understand to feel ,but instead want to work in order to bestow then they understood that they are building. Arei Miskenot, cities of affliction in Israel. Meaning those who yearn for the Creator see no profit in it. The next stage in the development of the work is going forward without seeing any gains for themselves or any rewards. For Pharaoh it wasn't Arei Miskenot, cities of affliction but rather Pithom and Rameses. Meaning beautiful impressive cities full of gold and silver and jewelry, beautiful things, buildings.

This work is then divided before them into two distinct parts. One part is if they wish to go in faith in bestowal and they don't see any reward. That's why it's called Arei Miskenot, cities of affliction, also cities that there is a danger in being there and also Miskenot, because there's no material or tangible profit and no support and for Pharaoh specifically, Pithom and Rameses meaning for the egoistic part, if they are working with their ego then they have a fairly good profit.

Hence, there's a question there is a danger here, why is it called Arei Miskenot, cities of affliction from the word Arei Miskenot from the word (Hebrew) danger, Miskenot (the second word) danger for those who yearn for adhesion with the Creatorreator for those to fall into the into the Klipot, the shells, That's how they deal and exist one time in this way, one time that way way searching crying complaining about the state and a part of Israel fell to the Klipot shells and apart continued nevertheless according to faith above reason and bestowal and so smaller parts nevertheless they survive this long and scary exile where instead of faith they fall into knowing, instead of the bestowal they fall into reception, and that's their path actually. For the time being this is what this excerpt is trying to explain.

11. S. (23:54) The last sentence of this excerpt speaks about the outcome that finally they come to a determined resolution that they must be in faith above reason, what is this kind of the force that they kind of come to this determined resolution? What is this?

R. They go through great trials. They rise, they fall, they fall and rise and they check and see that they can't get no work in the reception. They will never be able to truly advance to the purpose of creation in this way. Rather advancement can take place only above reason. In other words, they follow not their intellect or feelings but only according to what was written to them by people who have traveled this path and from their experience and what they revealed, they write to us from the last generation and accordingly they continue and they succeed.

S. This is the process that leads to the state but this power of having this determined resolution to be on this cloud, to be on this level, is this from the side of the Creator? Is it like a part of the spiritual structure or is it from the side of the person?

R. A beautiful question. They accept it as coming from the Creator and they go forth and they check it and they examine and they see proof this way and that way. A person always has to stand on both legs and then they advance and then they succeed. It takes a long time going through many states with lots of strong nerves but nevertheless we advanced. We are right now at the beginning of this path, building these beautiful cities of Python and Rameses.

12. S. (26:41) How do the two phases in the work combine? On the one hand I have Pharaoh who likes to advance but on the other hand there is a part that seems that there are no results and I'm not making any progress. How can they coincide?

R. They live together because the Creator is above them. We receive from him both,  both things in order to raise us and develop up until the degree of the Creator.

S. During the study I see that we are making progress, the group is developing and the Ten. we are advancing beautifully so is Pharaoh speaking to me?

R. You need to advance in the correct combination between the two.

S. In what are we not seeing the results?

R. We want to see results in our will to receive, what will we get and with such an attitude we will never see results. We will see results only if we we want to the bestow we proceed the will to bestow, the light of faith, the force of faith, giving and then we shall advance according to how much the power of the bestowal will come out of us, we will advance forward more and more according to the measure of bestowal in us. We will get there soon.

13. S. (28:49) It seems like processing the work that we did is in the will to receive and that we are building the work in the will to bestow. Is there a way to balance these two states?

R. Yes, we balance these two states and it's called receiving in order to bestow and soon we will have it.

14. S. (29:23) I understand that not everyone is in a ten, not everyone in the ten are in the same place, so how do we nevertheless work in the ten and strengthen one another?

R. We will talk about how to apply it in the ten, for the time being do you have questions about what we discussed?

15. S. (30:05) You said to a friend that we have to see the result in faith. What is the meaning of seeing the results with the power of faith?

R. When we wish to be in order to bestow, in bestowal to the other, giving to the other, the other means through the friends to the Creator, then with such an inclination we will begin to feel the response of the Creator for our state how he lifts us, connects us and opens up new stages along the way.

16. S. (31:10) We say that if we work for the sake of the Creator, for the sake of the friends, we feel joy and it's a feeling that testifies to the fact that we are working correctly. It is also said that Pharaoh was happy in this work of Israel and Israel were afflicted, how do we understand it?

R. A person that starts the work, he sees that all his efforts in order to receive are rewarded with a certain success like the rest of the world but in order to bestow so it doesn't see how he will get anything good out of it meaning that the Pharaoh is seemingly quiet and it rules the world, the force of Pharaoh, the force of reception and Moses, the Creator, they don't have any powers in this world. On the contrary, the more you will go with them the more you will lose, that's how we feel at the beginning of the work until we discover it.

17. S. (32:43) It says here, that when Israel fell into reception and knowing they immediately fell into the Klipot. Why is it when they fall into themselves they are still regarded as Israel and Egypt and not as Egyptians?

R. It's because of their direction they're goal, it remains adhesion with the Creator, if they want to reach the revelation of the Creator, adhesion with the Creator, they want to be like the Creator in order to bestow. Hence, according to their intention they remain Israel, according to their state they are in exile.

S. Does it mean that this quality has already been revealed in a person, in the one from Israel and then he fell?

R. Well, it's revealed in each and everyone of the people who come to study with us. Then they get an opportunity to realize this tendency, this inclination to become Israel if they can, if they attain, if they remain in this work, then they're taking the quality of Israel and they reveal the Creator and they continue together with Him.

S. It turns out here, it is written here, afterwards then after they all entered the authority of Pharaoh, the Klipa, they came to a determined resolution, that the work has to be in faith above reason and bestowal. In the beginning they had nothing and then afterwards something was revealed, they felt something towards the Creator then they fell into the Klipot and only afterwards they came to that complete resolution?

R. Yes, yes exactly like that, specifically like that you said it very correctly.

18. S. (35:23) How can we develop on the basis of Pithom and Raamses conditions? How do we know that these conditions advanced us?

R. We try to be in a group, to be in connection, to advance towards adhesion between us, reveal the force of bestowal between us all and the Creator and then we find ourselves in those states that the Torah writes about. The Torah tells us what we are going through in the connection between us, if we wish to advance towards the level of revelation of the Creator between us.

19. S. (36:15) Pithom and Raamses are beautiful cities for Pharaoh but is there a part of them, meaning for Israel?

R. Yes, of course, of course, if it is good for Pharaoh it is the opposite, it is not good for Israel. For Israel they are places of danger where they might fall from that state of connection in advancement and into an even bigger ego than before. We will soon read about it.

S. Does Arei Miskenot mean poverty for Pharaoh and love for Israel?

R. We will learn it pretty soon, just wait a little bit.

Reading #88 again. (37:42) “When we do not want to accept faith...”

20. R. (38:14) Meaning bestowal, to advance in bestowal.

Continuing reading (38:20)

Reading #89 again. (38:37) “This is the meaning of…” twice.

21. S. (42:47) It has been a few days already that I can't agree with the Creator because I can't see my friend in connection, it looks like exile to me. How can I come out of this exile so that I can help my friend in the end?

R. You need to do everything in order to come closer to your friend, not the way he wants or the way that you want but the way it is required by the laws of nature, meaning to try to be close to him so that between you, the Creator will be able to be present. Try to do this today and tell us tomorrow, we will see what to do with it.

22. S. (44:10) Is there a tangible danger of  making any mistakes and thinking we are actually discovering the Creator but it's only the state of Pithom and Raamses?

R. Yes, we could also go into such states but we are following the method of Baal HaSulam and you see how he gives us precise discernments, not right, not left but forward, all along the way. If we go together there is no problem; there is nothing to fear.

23. S. (45:10) What is the beauty of these cities?

R. The beauty of these cities is that they satisfy whatever the egoism wants.

S. When they grow stronger in the work of faith, in the quality of bestowal they came to multiply, what does that mean?

R. We will go over it. On the one hand, they seemingly need to get a reward, on the other hand, they do not have the vessels to receive the reward, to be fruitful and multiply but we will go over it.

24. S. (46:21) In excerpt 88, it says when we do not want to accept faith we fall from our state until we resolve that we have no other choice but to set the faith permanently in order to receive faith. What are these two actions to set faith permanently and to receive it? How does it happen in the ten?

R. We come to a resolution that only with the power of faith we can exist in spirituality we have no other counsel, no other choice, no other  possibility. This is what we read, this is how we read our situation and determine our situation and understand that in this way we will advance; only with the power of faith. Meaning not according to our knowledge or our reception but according to faith, meaning according to the mutual bestowing between us, the more connection we have between us and the more we yearn together for the force of bestowal to grow between us accordingly, we will advance in spirituality.

25. S (47:57) Are there signs in a ten that say we are approaching the state of the cities of affliction?

R. Of course, if what we build we do not like it, we do like it accordingly, we can determine.

26. S. (48:37) This process of going only in bestowal, how do we manage not to fall into Pharaoh? It sounds like we are working together in bestowal between us and we certainly wish to receive some rewards, some feeling.

R. It depends what the reward is.

S. If we, in our reward, we remind each other that we want to give contentment to the Creator and walk with Him and connect with Him?

R. Not to mention it but that we really want to come to this state, that we really want this in life.

S. I understand, but what will protect us from falling into Pharaoh constantly?

R. To be among friends who all think this way.

S. But we have a feeling that we are connected, we seemingly do the work the right way, how not to fall in that?

R. When we get to it we will see, for the time being you are speaking theoretically.

27. S. (49:55) Times are difficult, in the past few weeks I went through..?

R. I do not need to know what you're going through. Do you have a question according to what we are learning?

S. Yes, I just wanted to mention if the thing is, that the friends called me and took me out of Egypt, just like that. I just want the friends to know to call their friends if they fall, just to remind them.

28. S. (50:45) What keeps a person walking forward without any reward?

R. He sees this as his reward, that this is his reward for him to go forward without any reward for himself but the reward will be that it will be reward for everybody; it is the quality of bestowal.

S. And what brings a person to a complete decision that servitude has to be in faith in the form of faith above reason?

R. It is precisely by going through the cities of  affliction, when he sees that in the vessels of reception there cannot be any reward.

S. In this state, what helps them to hold on to the state?

R. Connection with the friends and participating in the lessons, in the study, that is all we have, only those two.

S. And on what does it depend on? I will constantly choose faith and bestowal and not reception and knowing?

R. First of all you have a point in the heart, so it pulls you towards it, towards the truth and besides you discover here and there in our work that only in bestowal is there life and in reception you only satisfy your will to receive, even though it is very important it has no future.

S. There are so many people with the point in the heart that do not survive, so how to survive this time?

R. They probably didn't get reinforcement, support from the environment. Everything depends on the environment. You too should be careful to make sure that the environment sustains you, supports you.

29. S. (52:48) On what depends our ability to work without a reward?

R. The ability to work without the reward depends on how much you see work without reward as the actual reward.

S. So the goal that you are placing before your eyes: what is it? What do I need to depict before my eyes?

R. To come to work where the reward, the gain from it will be in the vessels of bestowal and not in kelim of reception. Meaning attainment of the greatness of the Creator will be for me the reward. Meaning the greater the Creator is in my eyes, each time, through the friends, each time who should also think this way. So accordingly, I will advance and want to bestow upon the Creator who is greater.

S. What is the fuel here?

R. That I'm giving to a great One, that I belong to a great One, up to complete devotion.

30. S. (54:20) It depends on what is the reward, if the friends are not more important to me, let's say, time passes and they are not more important to me and also the greatness of the Creator, do I need to demand it or not, to keep going without any advancement in love of friends and in the greatness of the Creator. How do you count the degrees then, what do you count then if there is no grasp in the feelings towards my friends in the ten.

R. We count degrees of how much I revoke the egoistic reward and how much I raise about me the reward of giving and bestowal upon others and through them to the Creator; from the love of people, to the love of the Creator.

S. Is it an egoistic reward to love the friends, that the greatness of the Creator will be more important, that the deficiency for bestowal will be greater, is that egoistic?

R. A deficiency for bestowal is not egoistic if it is only a deficiency for bestowal but if you intend to after the bestowal to get some reward that is different, so scrutinize exactly which it is.

S. It is clear to me that I intend to receive a reward, it is clear.

R. If it's clear, why are you silent?

S. I'm not silent.

R. Say it, I intend to bestow in order to receive a reward.

S. It's clear.

R. No, it’s not clear, it's like in a shop you pay in order to get what you want.

S. I pay in order to receive the pure greatness of the Creator, that is all I have for the Creator. I have no other currency I want to pay, so the payment will be real, so I will love the friends and the greatness of the Creator will be real: that is all I have for now, nothing else?

R. Very well, very well, we will scrutinize it.

31. S. (56:56) What is the meaning of cities of affliction, Pithom and Raamses, in the work in the ten?

R. By working on connecting between us and we see no results from it, we do not see results. It is as if we are making work, making efforts, laboring but we see no results. This is called cities of affliction when I do not see benefits, a reward from my labor.

32. S. (57:52) We say that in the connection between us we begin to acquire the qualities of the friends in the ten. These qualities that we see, feminine qualities like joy, patience, strength, empathy are those spiritual qualities that we still do not know?

R. They are still not spiritual qualities. The difference between spiritual qualities and corporeal ones is that you're demanding a reward in order to receive or in order to bestow, that's it and nothing else. What is your purpose, what is your goal?

33. S. (58:50) About the text, and then they came to a complete decision that their work must be in faith above reason. It is not clear what proceeds what: the faith or the knowing?

R. What proceeds what? It is not a matter of faith and knowing, I check myself. Is my work in order to bestow or in order to receive? Who is receiving the reward and according to this I gradually begin to position myself toward the goal.

34. S. (59:54) You mentioned the idea that every day you must build and start anew. What is the recommendation for the friends in the ten who are having a hard time forgetting the mistakes that friends made yesterday?

R. Keep going, keep going, what happened yesterday died, that was yesterday. Earth has already revolved, moved. I have to be today where I am today, where my friends are today. And yesterday I do not care about it?

S. From the point of where we discover that the relationship between us is only a relationship within reason, from this point how do we change it?

R. We try to connect in mutual bestowal and help one another.

35. S. (01:01:05) I noticed that I do all the actions in the Ten, morning lesson, meetings but I do not actually yearn for bestowal that it is not that important for me. what do I do if this becomes everything that I do in life?

R. Do you have a Ten? Try to bestow upon the friends in it .Try in it, 8 the Ten to bestow upon the friends and then you will see.

S. The time in between feels like I'm missing this power of bestowal. When we meet, l yes, we try to be in bestowal and everything that we.talk about ?

R. I understand. Try during the day as well, try to read about those states in articles, questions and answers. Try to do these things to attach yourself as much as possible the way Rabbasg writes and then you will see that you are getting deeper and deeper into the heart into the mind. that the senses begin to work actually in a different direction. Suddenly they are beginning to take into consideration values that previously they did not work towards them. You will see how it will be.

It is a little bit like , let's say there is a family of two people. Suddenly they have a child from the moment it is born they already have changes in their thoughts in their relationships between them because they have to include between them the child as well, What is for the sake of the child? In other words they are no longer thinking of themselves 100%,but 100% for the sake of the child, and if possible also something for themselves. In this way they exist. It is the same here and that is how it is in the group. We need to nurture our relations towards the Creator, love for the Creator. and we want it to  grow between us.

S. I will take it from a different angle. Let's say my child is or even better if I ever overdraft in the bank I will think about it all the day long. I won't leave my head. In bestowl to the group it is not the same thing, even if we meet twice a day and we read excerpts, we pray?

R. It depends on the influence of the light from above, you are still not getting more. That is it, but the more you put into it, you exert in it, all of you, you will get more importance for it and you will not be able to separate from it. Then you will begin to discover in the connection between the friends, you will begin to discover the Creator, that he is growing from within the connection between the friends. This is what will pull you and connect you and you will no longer be able to to disconnect. Accordingly, you will also begin to discover a different existence from the one you feel now in life.

36. S. (01:05:38) I understand that in this text the desire to bestow and the desire to receive is scrutinized. Is the Sitra Achra doing this scrutiny?

R. The scrutiny is always done by the upper force but not by the Sitra Achra itself and if God forbid, the Sitra Achra makes a scrutiny than the person usually feels that it is coming from his ego.

37. S. (01:06:23) Can a person can't stop himself from receiving an egoistic reward ? How do you work on the matter of reward?

R. Only through the group by himself he determines nothing.

S. What does it mean through the group?

R. Only if he wants to receive the word from the group. only if he sees his reward in the group.

38. S. (01:07:00) In sitting in the Ten, how not to go within reason? How to come out of the assembly in the right way?

R. One more time.

S. When there is a gathering and meeting in the Ten, how to avoid following our own reason and how can we come out of this assembly, gathering?

R. You have to talk about how to be above your reason. Meaning in mutual bestowal and not in mutual reception that is it. This is how it should be. That each and everyone will think how and what he can bestow upon the society. write it down. I think that during the assembly of friends when I'm in contact with a friend or the friends how I can bestow, how can I give them? Only toward this I am thinking. What is most important for me is that they will feel that I am giving or they will not feel that I'm giving but they will receive the giving from me the bestowal for me. I care about them as I do about my own children.

39. S. (01:08:54) How can we come to this point of choice where we say are right in between these two things? These two choices of being rewarded with our will to receive in these beautiful cities and on the other side, that we really want to bestow without any reward for our will to receive but only for the reward of doing the work? How can you make this choice? What gives us the right power to make the right choice?

R. Only with the support of the friends.

40. S. (01:13:40) If I'm in self-pleasure stealing from the others, so am I stealing from the others?

R. Yes, because we come from a general system, a common system, that includes everyone and those that do not add to the system, according to this function, according to his place, according to his value. It is regarded as stealing from it.

41. S. (01:14:14) What does it mean everyday to start the work from anew?

R. I don't care what I had yesterday. I don't care. I don't continue yesterday. I don't drag yesterday along. I get up in the morning and I want to renew in me all kinds of spiritual values as I understand, as I know, and I am learning and with this I continue. What happened yesterday is yesterday. It nevertheless ended.

S. I'm asking because we seen all these excerpts that everything is opposite and what I feel and what I see so I'm always supposed to attain the force of faith, work in faith above reason but every time I take these steps, I am just thrown to the other direction. I can't understand how I start this from anew everyday. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing out on something? Am I not on the path? I can't understand why every time we take a step towards the goal we are told what to do, You tell us.

R. The opposite is good.

S. But it does not strengthen my faith on the way.

R. It is precisely in order for you to strengthen the faith.

S. But it shakes up my faith, how do I grab onto faith?

R. By going and solving the problems with faith. Just like in school, the main thing you will learn, you will learn by doing exercises.  As much as we do not like them, I like to listen to what the teacher is telling me. He may be telling me new things that may interest me or not, but I'm just silent and listen. The minute he starts giving me exercises that I have to solve, that is the part I do not like, right or wrong?

S. Right.

R. This is the learning. because here I check how much I understand him, I understand in  general how much I absorbed the material and this is how it works for us.

S. What is the difference between the force of faith and the faith above reason?

R. Of course there is.

S. What is the difference?

R. The force of faith above reason means that I go against the reason. That I go and I perform actions according to my mind and emotion. It should not be done. I should not have done them.

S. In the force of faith?

R. The force of faith is the force of bestowal. Bestowal above the calculation.

S. I did not understand the difference between them?

R. Keep on going and research that. It is good.

S. Sorry for insisting, you said that we are working according to exercises, so what exercise can I do about this in order to research it correctly?

R. When I should go against my own mind and emotion against my decision in the direction of bestowal.

42. S. (01:17:50) He said that we should interpret Miskenot, as danger, that they are in great danger and that they might stay in that state their whole life. In my mind I feel this danger, that I can say in the state my whole life but in the body it's not even felt, when we are in danger or a war?

R. What you should do is to forcefully perform actions of bestowal even though you don't want to do them.

S. Within this?

R. Out of that you will start understanding where the Creator demands of you and by that you will draw the light that reforms and you will see how much it turns you upside down?

S. That builds the feeling of danger and not only standing but a feeling?

R. Yes.

43. S. (01:18:53) To continue the question about the poor cities, we feel a lot of time that it is a dangerous place, and we feel that a certain friend might lose him. We are constantly praying everyday, trying to renew the prayer and it's clear that we are going to keep doing it, but how to be able to break this wall and touch his heart? It is clear that he has a point in the heart and he wants to be with us and he doesn't want to give up?

R. Work with him together. There is no other option. Just pull it into the society so that he will work with us together. That is it and then from the inside each and everyone should try to invest in him and send them sparks of love.

44. S. (01:20:08) To continue that when we work in connection and we are really trying to bestow to a friend against the resistance against the rejection, how can we know that I finish an action because we said that we want to work with other reward to bestow sparks of light like you said to the friends. How long should we stay in such a state that includes rejection attraction? It has a few states inside. How do I know I finished an action and not let it go in the middle?

R. There is no end to this. You need to disclose your love and support to the friends until the final correction. It is only later as you keep on going on the path you will discover how much this is, how much this is, how you have to do it in various ways, different identification but it is still in the same direction. Love your friends as yourself, that is the whole Torah.

45. S. (01:21:39) After the effort, how can I check who takes the reward, whether it is the will to receive or the will to bestow and is it private work or can it be mutual work?

R. Mutual work as well.

46. S. (01:22:00) I really identify with these excerpts that everyday we are investing hours for years and there real world is this taken by Pharaoh, he is swelling up and they feel worse and worse towards a friend and all together and there's no way out?

R. There is a way out. Once you feel that the Pharaoh is choking you and you have no choice but to run away from him meaning to bring him away out of your heart.

S. I'm sorry for saying this, but I see this path like a punishment or coercion. Everything is taken from you and no one lets you run away because there's nowhere to go to and it's just to get the spirit from it and that is it can only invest in the friends and not see a reward because that is what is written?

R. If this remains for you out of no choice for you that means that is very good. Meaning that the Creator is leading you directly to the right place, invest in the friends.

S. But if you like a slave, just to invest in the friends and not to see any reward I cannot take another?

R. This means that you're crying while working and this is the meaning that the children of Israel sighed from the work.

S. Just to cry to the Creator?

R. Just you don't need anything but that.

S. But yes if you don't see results, you cry and cry?

R. It's a sign you don't see the results and you're still crying. Well, that is a sign that you have not finished yet.

S. What does it mean the end?

R. The end? This is when the Creator answers when you demand this from him directly.

47. S. (01:24:27) I want to continue the friend's question about receiving pleasures? Why can't we get pleasure from bestowing?

R. Because it is an egoistic pleasure.

S. But we are yearning for complete bestowal.

R. It won't work in a complete way because you are doing it for the sake of the plesure.

48. S. (01:25:28) Then the only way out of this dilemma is faith above reason and working for the friends and nothing else. Is that correct?

R. Yes.

49. S. (01:25 :01) We were speaking in the Ten about states that seem like Pharaoh in Egypt. Are these old interstates that include Patham and Ramses?

R. Yes.

50. S. (01:26:24) If I understood you correctly, if we are following Baal Hasulam persistently so it promises a passage from the exile in Egypt, how can we know we are following him correctly?

R. You cannot make sure here, if you want it take it or you can leave.

51. S. (01:27:15) Everything depends on the light that comes to us, so we need to draw more of that light. How to draw enough light? We are trying to do everything you say?

R. Everything depends only on the connection between you and the group. Only in the force of the connection and unity in the group, only that causes the forces of connection to light on you and then you come closer to the purpose of creation.

52. S. (01:28:36) It is written in excerpt 89 when they overcame in faith and bestowal they saw fertility,so why did we say that they did not see results in bestow?

R. They did see results in order to bestow when they were really in them but when they were in them. Once they went through the path with respect of reception and they rejected it and then they passed on to bestowal and faith.

53. S. (01:29:28) How can I know if I am bestowing to friends? Should I even feel that I'm bestowing?

R. You may. Not immediately in the beginning, but later on but later on you can feel how much you are bestowing to the friends. Yes, it's possible.

54. S. (01:23:55) These forces for what I'm doing with the friends, there is always a desire to receive for myself. Even though I'm trying to aim my thoughts and actions, that is where I do not see a change because the intention does not change so what should we do?

R. Keep on, keep on towards connection. There is no other answer.

55. S. (01:30:51) Continuing the friend's question, how to guard myself from self-reception?

R. Be among the friends and try to bestow to them and to set an example by that.

56. S. (01:31:18) Continuing the scrutiny with a friend before, How should we measure changes according to the exercises that we should do? What exercises should we do everyday? Because we are telling ourselves everyday to see things anew. How do we check these changes every day?

R. This is what we are doing in the morning lessons and it's up to you to do it during the day as well.

S. To implement what we learn from the lesson?

R. Yes.

57. S. (01:31:58) You told a friend that if we are not doing your duties we're stealing from others. Are we not doing our duty? What does not doing our duty mean?

R. My duty is to connect all the friends between themselves from my side to connect them together and to the Creator.

S. If you're not doing your duty, that is called building the poor cities?

R. Of course, of course, I am completely destroying.

S. Can you define it? Let's say in the ten, I sit, and I don't' ask, what does it mean that I'm not performing my duties in the ten?

R. A ten means 10 people connect between themselves with the purpose of reaching such a connection that in the connection, from within the connection they will bestow to the Creator. Through mutual bestow between themselves they will bestow to the Creator. From that onwards they will also be able to bestow to each other and to the Creator and that is how they will bestow to the whole world. They will bring the world to the general final correction.

R. Just connect and draw the Creator into the connection so that He will be the central point between them.that they want to give to Him and through Him to the entire public.

S. This is also for veterans and new ones?

R. Everything has to be integral.

S. What does it mean?

R. Integral means that everybody is connected together with mutual bestowal. Each one to everyone.

S. Everyone to own to their own height ?

R. Each one in his ten and to everyone to the entire humanity, to all the souls.

58. S. (01:34:25) If we feel that the work in the Ten becomes calm and pleasant and the work even becomes easy, is that a reward in the world to receive?

R. I think that is a punishment.

S. Should I be happy from the punishment?

R. I don't know but you have to examine what it is, why something is easier becomes better.

59. S. (01:35:04) How does the intention work on our work on bestowal?

R. The intention determines if it's the reception or bestowal. Who you are bestowing to and who is receiving. The intention determines everything.

60. S. (01:35:40) There is a feeling that at any state, the Creator shows them something and then disappears and then the person needs to advance on his own. Is this feeling right?

R. Well he can advance on his to annul himself in advance.

S. When such a feeling when a Creator shows you how to advance and how to hold on to this feeling when it disappears. I tell the friends and I write it down. What can I do ?

R. Just keep on going, keep on to the extra connection.

61. S. (01:36:22) The desire to bestow that the person feels in himself brings himself perception?

R. Not necessarily.

62. S. (01:36:49) We connect with the friends in the Ten and you say that in that connection we start giving to the Creator what do we bestow to Him?

R. Support.

S. Support the Creator?

R. No, for each other.

S. You said in the connection we betow to the Creator, what are we bestowing to him?

R. We give the Creator an opportunity to be revealed between us, this is called ' to dwell in the lower ones". To dwell in the lower ones.

S. Is it a direction from love and an attitude of love?

R. Of course it is out of love. I give him room in the inside of me, in my heart.

S. In the place in my heart are those the friends?

R. It's my desire that I'm willing to give to others.

S. What does it mean the desire I'm going to give to others?

R. Desire, a desire to help, to fulfill, to do something for others. I'm willing to give all this to Him.

S. Specifically, He dwells in that desire?

R. Yes.

S. What force do I do this with? Is that his force too?

R. No, it's the force of love.

63. S. (01:38:35) It is written that except for Pharaoh, the poor cities were built for Israel.  Does that mean that while working for Pharaoh we get spiritual reward so how can we get that reward while we are working for Pharaoh.

R. We cannot, either for Pharaoh or for the Creator. One of these two, if this is correctly scrutinized, it doesn't go together. Either this or that.

Reading #90 (01:40:09) “When a person begins to advance in the work of the Creator..”

64. R. (01:41:29) Meaning that specifically out of those questions, where did I invest all those forces on the spiritual path and I wanted to discover the Creator and I want to connect to the friends, and again I start again and seemingly and I don't remember. I do not know what to do all of these beginnings are new degrees that we have to climb until we discover at a certain level who we are dealing and what we have attained but in the meantime on the path is it a difficult ascent.

Reading #91 (01:42:20) “It is even more difficult to understand how the Klipa

65. S. (01:44:06) What does it mean that Kabbalists take a word and start elaborating on it and giving it different meanings, Pithom… What does it mean?

R. We discover the meaning of the word.

S. How can the same word have a few meanings?

R. That's the quality of language. Hebrew is not a mundane language. Hebrew is taken from connection, I would say it's spiritual functions. This is why it's called a sacred or holy language, there's no reason to be surprised here. We are yet to see if we learned the alphabet and the words and the combinations of the words you'll see. It's a language that hasn't changed for thousands of years. It hasn't changed at all. It cannot change because it has spiritual roots and spiritual roots don't change, we will learn that later if this interests some.

66. S. (01:45:54) The feeling of this test that the Creator is giving us is very tangible but I feel that every time we get some dramatic state to determine between the will to receive to theTen or bestowing to the group, every time you reach a point where you will fail the same test that the Creator gives you. He keeps letting you take the test again and the same point, you already recognized that you wrote it down, here your mistakes are that you supposedly made and how do you fall again and fail again at the same test. Is there a point where I can say here I passed the test, that I did something for the Ten or society?

R. No, it's in the complete revelation of the Creator to you, not before that,. In the meantime you have to add and add to that point.

67. S. (01:47:20) It's written that the Creator created a Klipas so  that will forget everything that we learned so everything we learned we have to forget it?

R. Everything will drown in the abyss.

S. What's the reason? Why is it happening?

R. Because all in all, you work for you to pass on all these things and instead of that you'll get the quality of bestowal.

S. It's like to empty out your knowledge?

R. Of course to empty out, why should you need anything?

S. But if I forget everything, how do I every time start anew?

R. Because that's the vessel of Ein Sof, it is the vessel Malchut of Ein Sof.

EVerything that I've been learning for years, just erased it all?

R. Yes, and be happy.

68. S. (01:48:45) If what is given to man isn't taken from him anymore why are friends that are on the path for years leave eventually?

R. Because they haven't received in their will to receive that they thought to receive, they were constantly expecting when will we receive and we have to come to expect when will we be able to bestow through our friends to the Creator with nothing left for ourselves so we stay empty and everything we collected inside we only want to pass it on to the friends and to the Creator.

69. S. (01:49:45) I suddenly don't understand why the work in Egypt is even considered spiritual work, that they sighed from the work and call the Creator because they were Pharaoh's slaves so why isn't spiritual work considered once they leave Egypt?

R. Because an ordinary person, a simple egoist doesn’t serve Pharaoh he simply is in his ego, in his nature and that is not called Pharaoh. Pharaoh is already the ego when one wants to serve himself and even if he gets forces from the Creator he invests them within the will to receive for himself, our world is not servants of Pharaoh, our world is simply animals.

S. So the state that a person is aware that he's a slave of pharaoh and he cannot come out of it, that's why it's considered the beginning of the spiritual work?

R. Yes, yes, yes.

70. S. (01:51:08) In excerpt 90 he writes that everyday they had to start their work a new because everything they built went into the abyss and they always see themselves as though they never begun to work so what I wanted to ask on one hand, it just tires a person and brings him to despair and on the other hand he has to be happy from the state because only from the despair and not from having forces he can reach the true cry to the Creator, so my question is how to really see that side and be happy from it and not to let the despair just drag you?

R. If you're connected to the friends you'll have the strength, with their force when you get it from them to perform an effort and to get from above, the Creator the quality of bestowal. If you're not connected to your friends you will never have a question, a deficiency, a demand for it and the ability and you will remain in your small desire in order to receive and that's where you will remain. That's a very important point there are friends that are willing to be 20, 30, 40 years this way but they are not in a state that they receive forces from the friends, one should help his friend. That's why you don't have anywhere to receive the correction from the Creator and they don't have a spiritual vessel.

71. S. (01:53:46) Are there qualities of love and bestowal you only discover in the end? Are there degrees that you discover them but then forget?

R. If I understood you correctly, obviously the quality of love and bestowal is received at the end.

S. But there are degrees?

R. Yes, there are degrees.

S. Yes. I discovered and then there's a new degree, I come down and again I go back to discover the same discernment only deeper or a higher coarseness and I forget again and I start new until this also ends. What until the final correction?

R. We can say so, we didn't get there yet and it's still far but yes.

S. So it is real when it seems to me that when I think I love the friends and I got this purification and it's not an illusion?

R. Yes, that can be, that is true, the feeling is always true.

72. S. (01:55:13) You said that there are friends that are maybe here 30, 40 years that don't get the forces from the environment and as a result they don't get connection with the Creator. So who should a friend come to complain that he's not getting forces from the environment?

R. From the lack of his connection with the friends he cannot get forces from them because he doesn't get forces of his own desire he gets forces from what he gets from the friends, that he draws desires from the friends and in those desires he receives corrections and fulfillments.

S. The question is who has the key in his hand, the key of the connection to the friends who holds it?

R. Each and everyone. Just like Rabash writes to his friends, it all starts from “we have gathered here today to build a foundation for society” etc.

S. So if that friend doesn't feel the support from the environment that he should tell the environment they're not supporting me?

R. If he annuls himself towards the society he will feel as much as they want to bestow to him or not.

S. Meaning everything depends on the friend?

R. Yes.

73. S. (01:57:25) I wanted to ask about the independence of a friend. At what point on the path can we say that a person is independent?

R. I don't know what independent means.

S. The Creator governs everything and there's one force of love that governs everything and all of reality and I completely depend on my friends, so I'm asking where is my Independence?

R. Your independence is to annul yourself before the Creator and He will control you in a way that you will feel it and you will want to give Him that place, that force and then you will be with Him in connection in adhesion.

S. The way I am overcoming when I do overcome and I reach the heart of the friend. How does that connection when I go through this partition? How does that create a new perception of reality for me?

R. When the Creator is clothed in you you feel a new reality.

74. S. (1:58:01) What is that initial state, a descent or is it the beginning of a bad state? What is the initial state, is it a descent or is it a beginning of a new state?

R. A new state begins where there will be an evening and a morning and that is called one day meaning that's it.

75. S. (2:00:05) If by definition a Klipa is joy in the will to receive so what does it mean that the shell takes as he writes in this excerpt he writes that the shell takes, he wrote that the shell of Pharaoh swallowed all of the work. What is that state that leads to a new beginning and the need for help?

R. New control determines new degrees. That is it.
