Baal HaSulam. You Have Made Me in Behind and Before (This is the meaning of “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with gladness”.)
Reading (00:16) “This is the meaning of...”
1. R. (00:48) There are two ways by which to work willingly or unwillingly, it is certain that you will work. There is one force that operates all the created beings, all of creation, still vegetative, animate and speaking. There is a choice to a person after he develops from the animate level and approaches the form of the human who is similar to the Creator who can make himself similar to the Creator, then he seemingly has two ways to do what the Creator throws on him. Involuntarily he does not have a choice. He does not even know who compels him and how, on the one hand. On the other hand, he has a choice to come to an understanding and recognition of his own accord, that it comes to him from the Creator and then he tries to do it willingly.

2. R. (03:23) In other words the Creator gives a person that opportunity to advance on the way of the will to receive or in a way that a person gradually acquires the desire to bestow. Of course the Creator wants a person to advance by approaching him meaning the desire to bestow, but on this path, we have free choice and a lot of work before a person does this of his own accord making his desires the same as the desires of the creator.
3. S. (04:07) I do not understand the question to begin with. Why is there even a question in what deeds the Creator wants, a wicked or the righteous?
R. Why? This question is basically constantly in front of us, in and everyone. To do or not to do what Kabbalists tell us.
S. On our behalf, I understand why there is a question but why is there a question on behalf of the Creator?
R. The Creator wants us to scrutinize this question and decide what we want to do to observe the law to bestowal, the law of mutual responsibility or not? So that we will come to it of our own awareness so even if the world is not created in the force of the bestowal and forces us to reach this way, we would still choose for the world to be created this way.
S. What is the main reason that there is a doubt that you would choose the righteous? Why is it not obvious?
R. Because of our egoistic will to receive. Ask yourself, do you want the works of the righteous so that everything will be in order to bestow? Do you agree with the Creator creating the world with the force of bestowal but making it opposite? It is all against our nature which we for the time being reveal in us. Who can agree with such a world? We need to really listen to the Kabbalists who show us our path and then we come to the revelation of the truth.
S. On behalf of the purpose of the creation, what is better? How can it be that in order to reach the purpose of the creation that the path of the wicked can also be better?
R. We cannot be without the wicked otherwise we will have no free choice. How can we imagine humanity that is entirely complete righteous? It will be the animated level, the corrected animal level and that is it. We will not have a choice so if you want to create a free man, to be a free nation, in our land then you have to give him two options and he himself needs to choose and here is the point, what is the free choice? How can the person choose this? Through what criterion does one choose? The form of bestowal over the form of the reception, although the form of reception contradicts our nature with which we were born. Here lies the question we have to scrutinize. This is why we have to educate people so they will understand that even though it is against our nature, being in bestowal is more sublime, superior. It may not be worthwhile to the will to receive but it is worthwhile in the desire to bestow. This is greater and more universal. Meaning it belongs to everyone. It is just superior, what does it mean superior? Where is the up and where is the down here? We need to scrutinize all of that.
This is done specifically as he writes in the title to the article, “You Have Made Me in Behind and Before ", precisely by revealing both of them consecutively but they are connected. R. We would still have the same difficulty. What do we do? It does not matter what you call it, the force of reception or the force of bestowal becoming similar to the Creator we would have to become similar to the Creator anyhow, so it is the same form. Therefore in the end of correction we will see that as it is written “there was the bad that never even existed in the world”. You do not remember this?
S. I do but it is not accepted in the feeling yet.
R. Okay. So think. Think all the bad was only created in our imagination so that we would be able to distinguish to tell the two apart. In this way we will feel ourselves for the time being as the creative beings opposite to the Creator. Then we will play with it, like a playground. Just like we build them for kids and by playing in this playground, it is a completely imaginary world. It is totally artificial so by this we will learn what it means to be on the level of the Creator. We will rise to Him. What is the difference between receiving the quality of the Creator immediately or coming to it from the opposite form? In the opposite form we feel that we are separate from Him, different from Him and at the same time adhered to Him and equal to Him.
4. S. (11:43) Can you explain what it means and “God saw the light that it was good”?
R. Because the force of bestowal governs, it is superior; and in the eyes of the upper force is the main force, which is called “that the light was good”, light is the force of bestowal.
5. S. (12:32) You said earlier that we decide whether we are in bestowal and that we receive this world the way it's working today, you said imagine what would have happened if we exchanged places with the Creator, meaning we would be bestowing and he would be receiving so the question is a bit about the confusion. When I take the decision to be in bestowal, am I not in the same confusion?
R. You're right, we still have to scrutinize it, we still need to scrutinize it.

S. It is clear that each one who studies wants the short way. What reason is for us not to want to shorten our path?
R. Because opposite from the short path stands the will to receive and interferes a great deal with us shortening our path. That is the problem, that if you want to advance correctly you have to make efforts. Making efforts are not just about egoistic efforts that you make. You have to go against your nature. That is what it is about. You have to constantly work on connecting with the friends and annul and annul your ego and get closer to the friends more and more each time.
S. Do you think that in our ten we do not want to shorten our path for someone who wants to make it longer?
R. If I offered you a vote now. Who wants to be at the end of correction?
S. Everybody.
R. Everyone will say that they want it. So what stops us?

R. Mutual responsibility because we cannot be at the end of correction because each of us has to be a guarantor for everyone else in general bestowal for everyone and not to think about himself. That he only has one duty, to provide everyone with the power with the end of correction.
S. After so many lessons and so many years, what is stopping us from the mutual guarantee towards one another?
R. Maybe your teacher is not the best teacher?
S. No, you are pure gold. We are not Ok.

R. The solution is to continue with the lesson.
7. S. (17:44) Why does he write that it means that in all the deeds the Creator observes and connects?
R. Yes, in whatever we choose and do, the Creator is there and nevertheless corrects us every time, less or more to the extent that our choice is according to his choice. This is how we advance.
S. Rabash says the deeds, Torah and Mitzvot are not connected here?
R. Torah and Mitzvot, commandments, are customs. Yes, this is what Rabash used to say. He would say about everything that we establish in our corporeal world. In Judaism, they are called customs because commandments, real commandments, are the correction of the will to receive from in order to receive to in order to bestow. This correction, this change transformation happens through the upper light which is called Torah. R. The path that the created being comes to adhesion with the Creator; his ego surrenders, and this is called “the angel of death becoming a holy angel. So, the same will to receive that has the intention to receive, corrects itself and becomes a receiver in order to bestow. This is the pure form, real pure form of bestowal from the perspective of the created beings.
9. S. (20:26) What do we do with the flavors of Torah and secrets of Torah?
R. The tastes in the Torah as we learn with you from the Preface that we have: Taamim, Nekudot, Tagin, Otiot. Taamim are tastes, it is the lights that expand in corrected vessels so we will reach that when we have the corrected vessels. That we need first to connect to our group, to our ten Spheres and from those desires which are connected in ten Spheres, meaning one system. We will discover the upper lights there, the inner light which we will call Creator, come, and see, BoReh that he will come and fill some form of NRNHY. In this way we will connect to the Creator; where we are the vessels, and He is the light.
S. What are the secrets of the Torah?
R. The secrets of the Torah are the lights that do not expand in us, in the Toch, the inner part of the Partzuf, but only in the Rosh. Where they are unlimited by our vessels. We will learn about it. That is before us. Do not worry, we will reach that too.

10. R. (25:13) That means that we have the force of bestowal called the first Hey Bina, and we have the force of reception which is called the bottom Hey, Malchut, and we need to make a connection between them. That is we, ourselves are the Vav, the path that connects Bina and Malchut. Bina to Malchut, Malchut to Bina and this way we make the connection between the two and by that, we eventually unite Bina and Malchut together to such an extent that we extend all the light from Bina, all the qualities of Bina, to the qualities of Malchut by raising all the will to receive in the Malchut from the Malchut to Bina. Then, Bina that does not have the will to receive becomes the vessel of reception and demands from the Keter and then we have lights in all the Sefirot from Keter to Malchut. All of this is by us making a connection between us that we demand a connection between Bina and Malchut and Malchut and Bina, that is it and this way we work.
11. S. (26:54) In this excerpt and in also the faith above reason excerpts, Baal HaSulam talks about extending, what is this? I think you just explained it but what exactly is this action of extending and is it something we can participate in now?
R. Yes, to the extent that we connect Malchut and Bina, we create an expansion in both of them. Malchut expands from the qualities of Bina, Bina expands from the qualities of Malchut and then we reach a state, it is called “the darkness will shine as light” where they both work from receiving the light from Keter, and this way, by that, finish the correction.
12. S. (28:04) What is “32 path of wisdom”?
R. That is something we will learn about. It is more ahead; it comes before us. That all in all, we have thirty-two paths of wisdom that is called the light of Hochma, wisdom, goes down from Bina to Malchut and it is organized according to eight times four. That is 32 paths of the wisdom of Hochma. It is elaborated on a lot in the wisdom of Kabbalah.
13. S. (28:54) What is the point that we have to reveal?
R. The point we have to reveal is a point of connection between us. That all of our hearts will connect together, and this point will be the true Malchut, that will reveal the whole world to us. We need to reveal it, the point of connection between us, the most inner point that we are included in, we disappear in there and that is the point that reality will develop from. That is how reality will develop from it.
14. S. (30:03) Does Malchut act as if it is like Bina and by this it acquires its quality?
R. Of course. Correct.
S. If I act as if I love the friends but I do not feel anything for them, do I have to still love them?
R. You keep acting and you will see, yes of course. “A habit becomes a second nature”, that is what Kabbalists say.
15. S. (30:52) You said that in order to explain to people that the desire to bestow is higher, more sublime, than the will to receive. But people chase pleasures in reception, how can we give them flavor that the bestowal is more tasty?
R. We cannot just come up to people, we have to see who and how to explain it because otherwise we will seem them to them as like Socialist to them, fake Socialist I do not know what. I do not recommend that you do it in such a way, we have to see in which way we approach people. We have a lot of material on their website, all kinds. You need to take these materials and not on your own, right, but disseminate for now these topics that are there. That it seems to you these topics we have to sort them out. It depends towards what types of people, whether it is in Kazakhstan or Turkey or North America and so on. We have to see and according to that to spread out the material as much as possible. But in a way that somehow will be accepted in understanding’ not to speak about the wisdom of Kabbalah, not to speak about faith above reasons but like from afar start. From the creation, the purpose of the creation, correction of the creation, all kinds of things that are close to regular people.
S. You're right, we see that people see that during trouble times that the power is in unity but that is the only time people feel they have to unite but in regular times, is it impossible?
R. Of course, when there are problems and troubles a person can hear more because he wants to come out of these problems, which is why he is willing to hear anything that maybe it will help him. But we, also in times where people are not in trouble, we have to explain to them that we have an opportunity to reach something better, it is all relative, relativity” what is good or bad, okay?
16. S. (33:53) Can you explain what is the concealed world, “Olam”?
R. “Olam”, world, comes from the word ‘concealment’. That the world is a concealment, that by the Creator concealing Himself we feel the reality. Otherwise, that is called world. If the Creator would reveal Himself, we would not feel anything but the upper light filling all of reality like it was before creation of the world.
17. S. (34:51) I personally took interest in the words of Kabbalah: Sefirot, faith above reason. But when do we disseminate, we have to use different words – that the world is suffering pain, depression, and things like that?
R. Because these worlds are closer and clearer to most people, which is why we are using them and not spheres, worlds.
S. My question is: what is the difference between certain people who feel an attraction to search for the Creator? So terms like Kabbalah or faith above reason, and some people are more drawn to suffering or tastelessness, purposelessness?
R. I do not see that you hear what I am saying, we are turning to regular people. A regular person has a problem, he is standing between pleasure and pain, which is why we have to show him that we have a method of how to reach pleasure and that is what each one wants. The fact that except for that people want more things, obviously, but they want pleasure and not pain. That is what we are explaining but we are explaining in a way that is close and understood to each and every one as much as we can, that is our work in dissemination.
18. S. (37:25) When we annul before each other, what is the next step, what should be the next step? Do we need to come out from our place where we meet the friend?
R. If one works in annulment towards the friends, the next is connection with the friends, which is clear. In that if I annul myself, my will to receive, towards the friends, and then be willing to be adhered to them in everything possible, so I am performing the action of adhesion in Him. By this I acquire an understanding and experience and a feeling of what it means to be in connection. And then we reach such actions towards the Creator: to from the love of the friends to the love of the Creator.
19. S. (38:47) What does it mean in the text, “to reveal to everyone that abundance of light that extends from the surrounding to the surrounded”?
R. Meaning that we want to connect to ourselves the whole vessel, the whole Kli, all the souls that are in separation between these to those; to connect them all together and fill them with the Creator in the light of Ein Sof. That is what we want, that is our goal and we as a group of the pioneers that are going towards that and drawing everybody else with us, the whole world, because we, like Baal HaSulam writes, are in the last generation and we are the first group of the last generation. That is why we are open to everybody, we're not advertising ourselves only between a certain population – let's say only in Jews, and not religious Jews, and not only men, and all kinds of limited forms – but because it's the last generation, because we're reaching the final correction, we have to publish it and advertise it to everyone as it's written, “everyone will know Me from big to small, and My home will be the House of Prayer for all nations.” That is what we have to reach.
20. S. (41:11) According to the previous excerpt, if light is good does not mean the darkness is bad, then what does it mean?
R. Darkness is bad because we need to discover corrupted desires that have not been corrected yet, that is why it is bad, but it is relative. Because by those we have work in correcting this bad, correcting the darkness, by that we are giving contentment to the Creator. If the darkness would not be revealing itself, we could not give contentment to the Creator, that is it. That is why we need to be happy when we reveal the darkness because there is an opportunity by this to connect ourselves to the darkness and raise to the degree of the light.
21. S. (42:13) What does the past represent for us?
R. The past is also around us as surrounding lights and it is what we need in order to perform additional forms of action upon it for the future. In the past, we have parts that cannot be corrected, we have forces that we leave them for the future to correct and in this way, we advance. Do not disregard the past, we need everything in order to correct.
22. S. (43:08) What is this self-test that a person in the ten provides force of mutual responsibility to everyone? How does one measure oneself? That he is giving the power of Arvut, of mutual responsibility to everyone?
R. The person needs to take upon himself the force of Arvut and say that he is responsible for connecting everyone, that the whole world is actually his own vessel. We, in Gmar Tikkun, first of all, reach before the final incorporation, we feel we reach a state that each one is responsible for the whole world, for all souls, for all the vessel of Adam HaRishon: me, from my points in that whole vessel have to be guarantor for that whole, general vessel and by this which one reaches the degree of the Creator, each one, and in this way we finish our corrections.
23. S. (44:47) Soon the lesson will be over, and we will be summarizing it, and some will quote Rav, and some will talk about feelings from the lesson. What is the right way to summarize the lesson?
R. The right way to summarize, I think, is to see as much as we are, as much as we feel more and understand more in the same stage we are going through. The more we agree with the actions of the Creator that there is None Else Besides Him and obviously what we are going through is by his influence by his bestowing upon us. We need by everything we went through to determine some kind of observation towards the future, as much as we see correctly through us, agree to the fact that he agrees should be on the path and this path, that there is no other path according to our reason according to what we are learning. Not according to the faith that we believe the sages, no, according to what we see in our world what is being revealed from day-to-day. How we connect from day to day more and more and that is from this we reach a state of connection, one vessel, one desire, one head, one understanding, that it is all revealed before us. We need more and more to acquire confidence and what we are going through that we also have it for the next stage. The next stage is before us now, let us say there's 20 hours till the next lesson, part of it will probably need to work and sleep and eat, deal with all kinds of actions of this world but we need to try and not disconnect from the connection between us. The more we can keep going even though it is a very small, weak connection we still need to keep it and to be in it to live in it that is it. Even though there is a force of connection we want to add the force of faith above reason to it, to try and to feel as much as we can, the force of bestowal, that we prefer for it over the force of reception, we want to add it to the connection between us. That is all in all.
24. S. (49:03) When will the Creator agree to build the temple for us, what is that point of decision, is there such a point?
R. The temple is not a building that we build. Let us say in Jerusalem there it is not the matter of the temple. The temple, Beit HaMikdash is our mutual desire that from all of the egoistic desires that each one feels inside him. It is inverted by the upper light to in order to bestow and reach the final correction, which is the Creator, he builds this building. That is what is written that the third temple has to come from the sky, in an allegory they say it. In this vessel that all the desires will be in annulment of self-reception and in the tendency to connect, they will be willing to be completely connected between them and the upper light will fill the most one. That is the Gmar Tikkun, and it has to be revealed in the connected vessel from all desires, meaning from all hearts. That is what we are intending to take place and we want to participate in building it. That is called the correction of the temple and let us hope it will be, it will arise and now our times not with rocks or wood or nothing, only with our desires that it will be entirely spiritual, and it will not have any corporeal expression. Because we are all and through us, we will feel the spiritual reality that it is all in the desire and not in matter of this world. That is what we have to get to. That is what all Kabbalists are speaking about. That is all of our work also has to be in correcting our desires and intentions and not in some manner of corporeal actions.
25. S. (52:14) You once said we should not listen to our egos. How can I identify what guides me is my ego or my point in the heart?
R. Everything is for the benefit in connection with the group, everything opposite all the other things only do them if they are necessary. I have to correct them, I have to do them, I have to organize them because it has to take place for my personal corporeal correction for now.
26. S. (53:00) What is the advice to friends that cannot organize their necessities so they can make a living in a simple way that Kabbalists advise?
R. First of all we have people who can maybe help at least with advice, which is why it is worth turning to them. Again, I am saying you are not using our management correctly, we have people here that are like you working, learning, studying but they have experience in all kinds of areas, fields of this world. They can offer you help, support, advice in what to do if you bump into all kinds of problems so, please turn to our management to who?

R. You will get answers and help, and it will be clear to you in which way to walk the path. I really recommend it; our organization needs to have more livelihood by everybody connected and building our system and this is how we advance.
27. S. (55:19) With your permission a general question about dissemination, if you think if we ask the broadcast that during songs, they will show more of the world vessel because in the congress we have groups from all over the world and we see Israel. It still pertains to the Kabbalah being a Jewish idea.
R. I agree with you, we have to demand that they also make changes on our clips that we really from day-to-day are expanding in the whole world with all nations and it also must be in that way to apply video forms. I agree with you.
28. S. (56:13) I did not ask it properly before, I want to ask again, what does it mean, and God saw the light that it was good, and God divided it?
R. The separation is separating between the lights and the dark, that there is the white light and the black light. The white light is the light of bestowal, and the black light is the light of reception that also gives us a sensation of fulfillment, but this fulfillment is false, and it brings us to death. The upper force above them, it separates between those two fulfillments, the egoistic form, and the altruistic form.
29. S. (57:15) What does mutual responsibilities include so we can be guarantors to all the created beings.
R. That we can help them in any way towards final corrections and we build a foundation for the world Kli that they can incorporate according to the conditions of the world vessel. So let us hope they will feel it, understand it and we will be able to give them such a place to incorporate in, okay?
