Part 2:
Baal HaSulam. Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah. #18
Reading #19 (0:15) “The measure of egoism inherent in every creature is the measure..”
1. R. (01:18) Questions, There are none. Maybe there are questions here that you brought with you from previous lessons from all different of states, questions that you wanted to ask. Go ahead ask now we are not stressed with time now any topic go ahead.
2. S. (01:58) Yesterday you mentioned that it is important to organize the readings. I'm not asking about the actual reading. but I felt that that what we are lacking is my next thought depends on the fact that I organize myself before every time I see that I did not organize myself and maybe the reading or I don't know knowing the story maybe it all set my thoughts right like you mentioned like it sit the cells in the body
R. I don't understand.
Reader - Yesterday in the lesson you explain that when a person reads the Torah it organizes the cells in his brain so the friend is asking what I understand from this is that I have to organize my thoughts and I see that in life it does not happen the thoughts come to me not that I organize them. So how do I come to state that I can organize my thoughts. So how to do it ? So how to advance to a state where I can organize my next thoughts not that they follow me on me.
R. First of all it's good that a person has such a question. that he wants to be included with their thoughts into the work and want to understand the world with their thoughts. For that we were given a group. If you want to truly advance connect to the whole world then more so with the Creator that you are told if you come closer with your thoughts to a group then you need to believe that in a group there's an Upper Force. And this Force governs the group and it gives the group the validation and eventually when you advance towards connection to the group, you connect to the Creator and you grasp his thoughts his desires. In other words of the corrected Kli. And that what happens to you that is considered that you come to correction.
S. But if I say I don’t know where my next thought should be so what is the right thing to do. let's say I come to the group and say okay I will continue to work somewhere here between us and thought about them and so on. It's still not clear yesterday you said that it has to be clear how we organize the cells in our brain it's like something is clear there but it could be that in the state nothing is clear and we just keep going?
R. You need to translate that for me again
Reader: Can we reach a state where it would be clear to us towards what we organizing our thoughts or it is okay that nothing is clear and that is constant state that nothing it's clear. Where should this clarity should come from that we said that the Torah should organize your brain cells and things become clear and you organize your thoughts?
R. To the extent that I read the writings of the kabbalists to what they recommend for us do, then my mind, my desires, become more and more organized to understand the Creator through the group. I have nowhere else to align, calibrate ourselves towards the Creator but only through the group. If I get along with the 10 and then all in all I get along with the Creator. That is what I have. And if not then I need to make an effort to correct the 10 until it will be in my eyes and in their eyes as a single system.
3. S. (07:28) You mentioned that when you were about 30 you asked what you were lacking in order to enter the world of Kabbalah and he said you are lacking the society and you said that till today you keep understanding what he meant. So what is the advice you can give us that we won’t just not burn the time and that will be able to digest this message and implement it?
R. Look there is a matter of Faith here. And to the extent a person advances. When I asked Rabash then I was in the beginning of my path completely not understanding what he is answering me. Only my desire was very strong. I did not care anything about anything else in the world and what needed to be sacrificed for moving forward towards the purpose of the creation. And overtime all kinds of changes were made and we always need to make sure that the same desire will not weaken but on the contrary it will become more and more. That a person's eyes will always be open like for children who want to see and grab the entire world. By that we will advance. What I understood from my experience is that there's no wise as they experienced, meaning another day and another as long as you advance and that you don't stray from the rails. And each one has their own faith, each one in their own faith. So we need nevertheless to start anew everyday.
S. How to remain with our eyes open like a child?
R. On the one hand the group needs to help and the other hand, it's a habit, a habit becomes second nature. It's not possible that I will go through one day without reading or learning or teaching, this has to be the form of our advancement.
S. If it's destiny, you use that word twice so if destiny determines whether I reach the attainment or not?
R. There are things that come to us without asking us and stabilize each person even every moment and there's nothing to do here, it's above me.
S. I'm not complaining if destiny is aiming me somewhere, just what depends on me?
R. No faith can direct you but you need to understand that alongside with that, that alongside with that you are directing faith.
S. And what am I directing faith?
R. That’s what it means to be a partner to the Creator to the extent you pray to the extent you bestow to the extent that you are subjugating oneself, and all of this is working on the Creator and this is a range for you of course it all comes from him but it depends on your work.
4. S. (12:25) How to deal with the forces of rejection? It is actually two questions, One how to deal with the forces of rejection? And the second, what is the quality of Eish, Man and how does faith help by attaining that discernment what we read about?
R. Well the question about man is easier to answer a Man, Eish is someone who is similar to the Creator, to the extent a person has something already corrected and resembling the Creator he is called a Man.
S. And how to overcome forces of rejection?
R. That is through importance, through the importance we have nothing to do if we're following the forces of rejection then we can miss out on the most important things in life, and that is why it's worthwhile for us to hold on to ourselves not to let us run around to what we get from these forces of rejection and also not to run around to what we get from the forces of attraction but first of all to examine ourselves who are we receiving these strength from and what is it aiming us towards and am I remaining in the 10 first of all, this is ahead of us, I can examine myself and check myself always if I'm continuing or not meaning I have no other way but to remain in the 10, if I remain in the 10 then I don't go off the rails and I continue that's one thing and the second is the 10 fully aimed at correction in the final correction in that case I need to examine it.
5. S. (15:25) We read an excerpt about Moses and how it's the force that's important and it helps us, how to find that force in me and in the 10 to help the friends advance even more?
R. If the 10 connects then the force all in all that it stabilizes in it is called Moshe. And we will talk about it once to the extent that then these force of Pharaoh is revealed in the force of Bhatia the daughter of Pharaoh which is also the daughter of the Creator Bhatia daughter of the creator, that this truly stabilizes Moses and it grows him, and it gives him the strength to be connected, also not just with the Egyptians but with the force of Jethro's family and all of this is needed to being a person in order to understand how to take anyone who wants to reach the Creator called Yashar Kel take them out of Egypt. These are all the forces that Moses that this force in a person that is stabilizing a person stabilizes this Force Moses isn’t in a ten or anything, that is how we are preparing ourselves to come out of our ego to a higher world.
S. It seems like there's like this including force that's connected to me and the friends and the tens and everything together?
R. Yes, Moses is what connects us to the Creator, we don't have anyone greater than Moses.
S. And he's Israel's representative to the Creator?
R. Right and those who want to come closer to the Creator they connect to the force of Moses
S. Practically can it be expressed by me praying for the friends?
R. On the Practical level it's connecting to the group and through the group connecting to the Creator or the group entirely connects to the Creator that is called that Moses reaches out to the Creator and by that we all accept connection to the upper force.
6. S. (19:34) We know and already feel how everything depends on the ten. We did a very strong preparation in the last month towards this event before us. Now that we're entering this week we are entering and all mixing together so how do you hold on to the ten? How do you make sure not to lose this thing called ten.
R. Now.
S. Yes, this week that we are entering.
R. In this week you need to make sure that you are all one ten. Everyone, you are one ten and it's enough to think about it to want it to happen and you don't need anything else other than that.
S. Only to be in that and not to go to the end of the day to ….
R. No, no, no, no, you don't need that. They can come here to connect to you in the day, in the morning whenever they want; this week everyone is invited to be here as much as possible.
7. S. (21:13) In 151 it says that each one has faith in the Creator. What strengthens the faith in the Creator?
R. It's only through the friends, only through the friends you don't have a means to receive this increasement of faith but only in the law that we are, in only in the environment.
S. Is there an opportunity to raise the importance of the Creator?
R. That depends on you. Obviously we constantly have to be concerned about the importance of the Creator between us because as a result we will have the force of bestowal, the force of love, it all depends on the greatness and importance of the Creator, all of our advancement every friend has to be important in our eyes as the Creator; that's our work.
S. To what extent do we need to reveal or even conceal the Creator? To what extent do we need to work with that?
R. I don't think we need to reveal or conceal the Creator. We need to reveal the Creator as much as we can because it's the force of love and bestowal and it needs to dwell between us, and to conceal it only through our ego I don't have words, they will come I'll complete this later. In short, to reveal the Creator in the connection between us as much as possible more and more, to feel that He dwells between us, and as much as possible to reveal Him and to conceal Him from the individual personal force of my own. I want to feel the Creator only under the condition that I start by connecting to society, then for sure I won't ruin my connections with Him.
S. In other words there is some kind of connection. First of all there's an order, first of all connection and then relation?
R. Yes.
8. S. (25:30) What does it mean to trust the Creator and how can we reach such confidence in the ten?
R. That's a very important question. What it means to trust the Creator? It's the same Force the general Force of bestowal that we feel mutual between all of us, that it fills the distance between us in the ten that that Force dwells in us and controls. That's what we want. That is called that the Creator is revealed to us and fills us and in that Force we exist and want to live, we want to live only by it. This depiction is clear that if we have a ten and we try with our forces to stabilize the Creator within the ten, that He dwells between us,not in each one but in all of us together between us, like water that fills ten people that are in them. That's what we need to feel that the Creator fills us and we don't want to come out of this feeling that He is connecting us, filling us, and is with us.
9. S. (28:06) Let's say we did it we were able to connect. There's a feeling that immediately afterwards the Creator wants to escape, He gives some like a new condition that we lost this connection that we had between us, there are new conditions. Is there such a thing?
R. Everything happens.
S. Let's say something like that happens. The connection we had before the Creator was among us and we are no longer able to follow that condition, so what now from beginning?
R. We search even from the beginning we search how to come out and what to do, yes. Why? What's up? My life is over? No I'm still alive, pinch yourself and see whether you're alive or not. If you're alive so you have another something to do in life except for revealing your Creator? No, there's no purpose in life other or more exalted that even exists except for revealing the Creator.
S. Can you be happy in such a state?
R. You can only be happy from one thing that what happens comes from above; it comes from the Creator in order for you to establish Him in a new form and that might be even more successful.
10. S. (30:07) In relation to our work in tens during Passover if I understand from the answer that you gave to the friend that during Passover we want to be as one ten. The question is what is our work throughout the day and the ten, in our individual tens also. I'll say why I'm asking. because every ten in the world Kli has a daily schedule, meeting two or three times a day, you're familiar with it. What is the work if any throughout Passover in the individual tens throughout the day?
R. What do you think can help you, to help you advance toward the exodus from Egypt?
S. You need to ask the friends.
R. What professor.
11. S. (31:11) To sharpen the question, my ten, for example we have a convention state in the ten, we don't have anyone on duty, we don't have our meetings, is this correct to treat all of the Passover week this way?
R. I would organize the audience in that way because it's even more than a regular Congress. It's the exodus from Egypt supposedly that we want in somewhat to feel and incorporate in it, in that state, that's why it is worth playing in that way. I think that throughout the week you will read the Torah and this whole portion, it's not short, on their state in Egypt the ones who want to reveal the Creator that's why they're called Yashar El, Israel, and that's the way they go through their life, directed from above.
12. S. (32:50) To continue that same point we have a day full with work of morning lesson then a meal, a gathering of friends and so on. We complete this day and we end this day with a very festive meal, how are we supposed to come out of this meal? Everyday because every day is supposed to be in your eyes as new and we need to strengthen and to deepen the connection the prayer. It's like a day that's full, you go through all of your emotion, it's constantly new movement. How do we come out of this day to come to the day and new?
R. I don't know what else to add I think this is what you need to say, that even though you'll be tired, and along with that you'll feel that you went through a lot of states states of connection of searching where is Egypt where is running away from Egypt how we go through it how we help, by the way the whole Exodus is only with mutual help because the exiting the forces that are resisting it's in order for us to connect together as one man with one heart, that whoever comes out of Egypt it means that he really feels himself as an individual organ from the general body, so try and go through the day in such a way if you go through a few days in such a way you will feel what it means to wake up in the morning and go through Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, it's not simple, it's a transformation that is very unique that will happen in man, so I wish you luck.
S. We are now going into a full week, should every day be preparation for the following day or do we need to be in a state every day that today we're coming out of Egypt?
R. Coming out of Egypt isn't in one day, it's a continuing process and we really hope that we will attain some taste in it, some process of what's going on so let's try, try to connect.
12. S. (36:20) Can we say that Moses the puller of bestowal has stages of the development and this quality is strengthened by faith throughout this stage?
R. Let's say this you and the connection between you want to establish this image of Moses, and then you will feel what the stages are that he goes through you are Moses. It's something, it's very interesting, it's special, and I'm sure that in somewhat you'll be able to feel what it means to be Moses and what it means to connect with the Creator and what it means to connect with the people it's all before you.
13. S. (38:28) We are a very diverse Kli and I assume that there are some friends that might be that won't be able to be connected to the events all day every day and maybe for them the detachment from the individual 10 from the daily schedule from the routine from the focused attention of the 10 friends on them maybe that will be less beneficial for them to be connected. Maybe not, maybe it's good that's why I still want to reflect this opinion and ask what is correct to do in terms of the daily routine of the tens during Passover during the week of Passover?
R. First of all, we need to prepare ourselves, we have the week of Passover before us it's a special holiday, it's worth to incorporate in it, even at a corporeal level, what you eat what you don't eat why it's like that with special about it, why did kabbalist determine such thing why did BHS specifically he was more meticulous in Passover especially, compared to the rest of the rituals, you can speak about all that and ask and learn about it, and there will be more preparations and work to do I don't know who's in charge of that.
S.I think we should use the meeting so we have throughout the day for friends who aren't here maybe you have less chances to be included so the meetings we have we should use it to share with each other with the Impressions that we have?
R. Please please obviously not burn time for no reason.
14. S. (42:13) The importance of the goal as a tool can we think of the importance of the goal as being us as a vessel for the Creator not just as BB but onwards it's really important because one of the things that it means is what it won't be and what we will not enable and what we will?
R. Ok.
15. S. (42:42) What does it mean not to leave anything behind, how do we help all the friends come out of Egypt?
R. That still is not our exit and not our purpose but we need to really try and encompass and include all friends in our connection, and that all of us all of us will ascend to the next degree.
Workshop: Summarize the lesson
