Baal HaSulam. The Freedom (Ancestral Heritage)
Reading The Freedom (Ancestral Heritage): (00:15) “All the details of the picture…” Twice
R. 1. (04:16) Meaning that we have many other things here that we need to scrutinize a few things not a lot and then we'll understand the extent in which the ancestral inheritance gives us the ability to advance and be connected between our forefathers to us and from us to the next generation until the end of correction.
2. R. (06:18) Each of us it's all together a result of all the generations that preceded us and that's in us and that's how it is from generation to generation and that's how all these generations advance this way to the end of correction.
Continues reading: (06:37) “Just as the face of each and every person is.…”
3. R. (07:55) Meaning in each of us there are all those generations and also that person himself adds to his advancement.
4. S. (08:04) What is the criticism and the advancement of the wisdom?
R. Where the sages and the person himself can, the wise people and the person himself, can critique and be in a certain discernment of it in a certain censorship of it as one who critiques it or demands examines all that was and all that's happening. If we don't do that we cannot advance. Look at how many countries you have today that have a tendency for critique and scrutiny and advancement after they scrutinize and agree to advance one way or another or they have elected people and all kinds of organizations and systems that discuss how to advance and so on, that critique, and those that are under such protection that they don't let anyone open their mouth other than their one person that's on there up there on top then certainly without critique they are for sure it's an opening for the lack of success and we can see this from one generation to the next how this happens.
5. S. (09:52) Each and everyone of us is a result of his progenitors but what does it mean that a spiritual property of his progenitors, how to interpret that?
R. We can't yet talk about how this passes from one generation to the next from person to person, but it would certainty we are in such a state that we beget one another, we certainly also give something that belongs to the spiritual matter. We are yet to talk about this, it is ahead of us, we will scrutinize that.
6. S. (10:50) What is that which passes through heredity if we know that only in a few cases the children of Kabbalists follow their predecessors Rabash, Baal HaSulam, et cetera.
R. Is it true that inheritance does not move in heritage like that you don't get that privilege of having your father in one way or another it's written in the Torah it depends on education and usually one who a Kabbalist or scientist or an actor no matter what but usually accordingly he wants to pass on his offspring what he has so that they will move onwards and develop even more, its natural. In every generation to pass the best things to the offspring but here the point is that from one generation to the next the Torah does not move in heredity you cannot pass that this way there may be things that are given from one generation to the next with a tendency to science music or something else but the Torah that moves in heredity. We're talking about the fact that each and every one can be great and there is no manner here just like we saw this throughout the generations specifically with our forefathers Noah, Abraham, Terach, all these all of a sudden a person like Moses in Egypt rises, what does he belong to, we don't know how where his parents are the daughter of Pharaoh found him in the Nile and educated him. He grew up in Pharaoh's home and from Moses we have the whole Torah of the whole advancement to spirituality all our connection of humanity to the Creator comes through him, he is the person that connects all of humanity to the upper force and what inheritance what did he receive. Therefore it's written that the Torah does not pass in inheritance there are forces that do move from one generation to the next from those who birth their offspring but you cannot transfer spirituality unless it is through the efforts of a person who builds the screen and reflected light and with that reflected light attains the spiritual worlds, it cannot be done any other way there are no, there's no nepotism here you cannot attain it or buy it in any other way except for your labor your effort.
7. S. (14:36) We learn here that my source is a result of certain things that my ancestors have bequeathed to me and we also learn that our soul each of our souls are born each time again through incarnation, reincarnation, so what can I combine it what about belongs to me and how to combine it with the fact that I am a result of what my ancestors have done?
R. I don't think I can explain that because it gets clarified to a person when he begins to attain his connection to the Creator then through that he begins to gradually attain why in such a way he was born and grew up and came to the wisdom of Kabbalah and why the Creator aims his parents his teachers his friends in such a way that will connect around him around this person and thus assist him to come to spirituality it's revealed this becomes disclosed. What we actually need is to be equipped with what they write, how the group needs to be connected, how we need to support one another et cetera. I think that we're on the right path and we have ahead of us a truly beautiful future.
8. S. (16:39) Here in this part of the article Baal HaSulam cautions us that the individual and his personality must be preserved and you have to pay attention that the individual's personality will not be erased by the influence of the environment, so where's the boundary between how much the environment can influence individual and how much he should not touch it?
R. The environment can assist an individual in his development as he himself causes the direction of the development. The environment the society cannot obligate a person to develop one way or the another, there has to be free choice when it comes to that, the individual in the environment needs to receive the forces from the environment for his personal individual development.
9. S. (17:46) How do we reconcile defenses, the protection of what we received from our ancestral in order to build something new but we need to annul to each other so how do we do that?
R. We need to develop with all our strength in the ten in order to advance the ten together with our friends as first of all we connect and the connection comes from us each nullifying ourselves and nullifying before the center of the ten where then the center of the ten begin to clarify for us the essence of the Creator. The common force between us which we build that you made me and this is how we advance to a state in which we build choice, establish our future, our future state, our future form, our next form. How should we say this and if we establish this correctly we discovered through this slowly slowly gradually more more how the Creator is inside there and He's actually aiming us, we thought that we are building Him it’s no, He builds us He made us He stabilized us this way. That's what we discover.
10. S. (19:37) You just said how each one annuls himself, right? In the article it says that each one has a legacy from his ancestors that we have to not cancel, sure we don't cancel so do we not cancel?
R. In a way in which I annul what I have in order to bend myself toward the society in such a way I actually build myself because my form of annulment includes the whole heritage of my ancestries in this I raise my ancestral heritage to a level of where I can perform a restriction a Masach reflected light et cetera where I with my forefathers am in a Zivug, in a coupling of striking with the Creator in what I'm doing.
11. S. (20:40) Why a certain group or certain ethnicity, they do have legacy from their ancestors but they annul each other completely towards like, they all look alike. What is the goal of development in this case? Does it have something to do with spirituality or not completely?
R. No there are many things that don't have to do with spirituality in this there are such groups that are in self annulment there's all kinds of mystical groups that do this, philosophical groups that do this, it has nothing to do with spirituality just annulment is not spirituality.
12. S. (21:39) Based on what we learned to cut down criticism to half an hour a day and now we learn that criticism is so important there’s an intense argument in the ten. How when and what to criticize?
R. The criticism should only be as desirable for it to only be on the connection between us and our common center, that's it. That is what we have to be constantly concerned with to come to one heart as one man in one heart, there the Creator will be revealed, there we will begin to discover our degrees in the ascent.
13. S. (22:40) The point in the heart that will awaken in each of the friends here is the result of the spiritual state of the progenitors?
R. Are you asking?
S. Yes.
R. No, the point in the heart belongs to the person himself already in its foundation there's also his heritage of his ancestry but the heritage of his forefathers doesn't necessarily have to be connected all together with spirituality of a person it could be that his forefathers were like we learn and see in the Torah that is forefathers were idol worshippers and as such that we learn in the Haggadah from Passover and then the offspring came to spirituality, everyone begins from the state of the shattering.
14. (23:51) Baal HaSulam mentions here the subconscious, it sounds like there's a bin full of stuff off to the side that we're not using, why is it not available to us?
R. No, who told you, it's our awareness our consciousness it’s everything we have.
15. S. (24:18) If you can explain why the heritage of the source of the individual is important how is society enriches by it because if the individual is not connected he's in a position to everyone and if he is connected then the source is dissolved is swallowed is annulled. Where is that source expressed so everyone can enjoy it?
R. I can't explain it in a short way but you will see the extent in which in the spiritual each and everyone expresses his internality in a complete and whole way.
16. S. (25:10) Is it correct to, every time we say we’re the last generation is it correct to say that we sacrifice our will to receive but we also understand that by being the last generation and receiving the Torah……………..
R. Yes.
S. But in the end he says we need additional understanding. What else do we need to understand, as far as receiving the Torah what else we need to understand, we need to understand that we need to reach the end of correction?
R. Understand that we have to come to be as one man in one heart that's what we need to receive for the receiving of the Torah and after the receiving of the Torah we have nothing else to attain, it's all in the Torah.
17. S. (26:06) Baal HaSulam says this line that we typically skip, All the tendencies and qualities that came to him as part of his inheritance are part of his source and the root of every person, what is the source of every person?
R. His point from the system of Adam HaRishon.
S. Because he says that the source is the ancestral heritage.
R. Since, all together, after everything he discovers his state in Adam HaRishon in a complete, pure way and in the correct power for it to be executed.
S. So the source itself is made out of the will to receive?
R. Yes, it's his will to receive, in Adam HaRishon.
