Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. #45
1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:21) Yes, we are engaging in a very special work that is in a directed manner we are replacing within us our emotions and thoughts, our intentions, and actions or kinds so that bit by bit meaning gradually, they changes us these changes, transform us to be with a special relation to the Creator. When we hardly understood or failed or we were close to him or directed to him a very direct attitude, a subtle one, a precise one. All of these changes need to occur in us now. This is called and a 'new king arose over Egypt'. In that there are a few new discernments, why is he called new? Why is he new specifically over Egypt? In what way is He the king? We are going to learn this. Certainly without getting to know Him and his rule, we will not be able to come closer to the exodus from Egypt. Precisely with this king who is growing within us, from the previous King, towards him we need to change and relative to him, we need to change our work, our attitude and this is how we will emerge from the rule of Egypt where Egypt means our whole world, our entire world including ourselves for the time being. However, there is within us, each one of us a point in the heart, that's what you can call it, where we disagree to truly be in Egypt but rather we want to get out of it and to be a free nation. Well, let's see what is happening here so please.
Reading Excerpt #45. (03:36) “The Exile and enslavement in Egypt..”
2. R. (04:49) Joseph is from the Hebrew word “Osef,” to gather to put together, to unite and a new king arose that did not know Joseph it means that they lost those members of the group they lost the inclination towards connection. This is considered that a new kingdom arose. That the kingdom that is now ruling over them does not allow them to connect, to think in that direction, to talk about it in general, to understand it, to be concerned about it, that this is what we need to have. This is the new ruling and it says here 'that they felt from the previous degree'. and it is as it is said in exile, a disciple, his teacher is exiled with him meaning that they thought that the whole world is like that not only me or some of my friends also maybe. And then they lost the feeling of Joseph that is what this feeling is called that they are gathering, JosephJoseph to be together, to gather to unite. That inclination that they had before, they lost it and they stopped attaining the little bit of feeling that they had before in unity and connection that we have to go towards that, they lost it, is gone. This is what happens to us on the path, meaning we shouldn't be too impressed by that some time ago we were more connected between us. Maybe we understood better, maybe we felt more that connection is on the way to our salvation to exodus from Egypt and so on. This needs to happen so that we will attain a little bit of connection, corporeal connection and then we will lose it. All of that is in order for us to begin to scrutinize it, to sort it and to advance to a more spiritual connection.
This is how it is always from day and night, night and day, this is how we need to go forward in the different states that we have so we shouldn't be too impressed that once we wanted to be more connected and we understood it better and we were able to keep it, and today maybe we can't. Rather it is all operating according to the plan. The plan from above and you can't understand any of it anything except through the opposite state. Therefore we have day and night. This is how we advanced or more correctly night and day. There was evening and there was morning one day and it is so much so that this new quality comes that they did not know Joseph, meaning they don't understand why do we have to connect and what is happening to them. It disappeared from their feeling from their understanding of what it means to gather and to connect then that they specifically should be their correct form for the correction of the world, for the correction of humanity, for their own collection, it all disappeared seemingly it doesn't exist. This is the beginning of the exile where they don't even feel that they are in exile, that they are disconnected from each other but rather they think that it is normal that this is how it needs to be.
3. S. (09:57) What exactly is this exchange, this change that they went through? At first Joseph was primary, was important and then a new king arose in Egypt. What happened before that in Egypt they ruled over the ego or what?
R. How shall I put it in a better way? They had in them, in those people or let's say in that group that 10, the understanding that they themselves must hold themselves together and to advance in that way. Suddenly they started feeling that there is no connection at all between them and it's not important if they're connected or not connected if they are bestowing each other or not. The will to receive became greater already on the degree of Egypt, on the degree of Pharaoh. This is considered that a new ruling appeared in the minds of each and everyone as he writes here. Well, this needs to be as the advantage of light out of darkness so we need to attend to the ego more in order to understand it in spirituality it is specifically built up on the inversion of the ego from rejection to connection.
4. S. (12:05) We would like to share yesterday we read the text of the Torah and we have great gratitude for the friends who prepared these text for us, the moment the texts were on the screen we felt the huge power, this so-called history that is not really history starts taking shape in our connection, in all those names and definitions and we want to to share the joy, the great joy from her the Creator leads us. Thank you for all of these gifts.
R. Well, of course it's not history but the Torah is telling us about the inner inversion, the inner revolution that we go through in a biological creation which we call Adam, man even though it's not at all clear who He is or what He is. That when it begins to work, when a person who begins to work on himself on changing himself on wanting to elevate himself in his reason, in his emotion to the degree of the Creator up to the degree of the Creator. This method of elevating ourselves internally as in our heart, meaning in our feelings, and in our intellect and in our thought, from the degree of an animal to the degree of the Creator, this is called the Torah or the wisdom of Kabbalah. If a person uses the inner part of the method when he draws light and uses it in order to constantly change and rise higher and higher above the animated degree in him, then he is called a Kabbalist, meaning he receives from the Creator Kabbalah, meaning reception.
5. S. (14:47) It is said that they didn't know Joseph, the question is meaning that they didn't know Joseph in the new degree. The question is in such a state do they have any chance to leave Egypt?
R. We are talking about the changes that occur along the way in the group. We are not talking about a single individual but rather we are talking about what happens in the group. They feel that what they had before disappeared and they lost Joseph. Seemingly, he disappeared from them, this friend, this feeling, this inclination and out of that they started to feel the enslavement and your ruling over them. Their ego started to rule them in a way that was much more concrete and more brutal than before. It started to distance between them, to isolate each one of them from the others and in this way they actually advanced towards the recognition of evil because everything begins from "and there was evening and there was morning day one'. Meaning first we have to attain the negative state and following it, to rise to a positive state. This is clear?
6. S. (16:58) A student who went into exile and his teacher is exiled with him. What does it mean in our work in the Ten?
R. If a person comes out of the connection with the Ten that is considered their Ten is going into exile, it is coming out of the connection with the friends. Then he stops feeling the Creator and so the Creator also goes to exile, goes out from the person.
S. Who's the student? Who's the teacher?
R. The Creator is the teacher. Rav, teacher, meaning from the word great, the great one, that he rules over everyone but if a person comes out of the rule of the Creator then he no longer has a Creator.
S. Why does he mention these concepts, these details specifically in this excerpt?
R. That I don't know how to explain right now and it is not so relevant for us. You can ask a thousand different questions.
7. S. (18:50) We read and we learned that there's no descent in holiness we only rise in holiness and it seems to be saying here that you can't descend in holiness.
R. Yes, we are being lowered but it is necessary for the purpose of descent. You cannot feel the assent if before that you don't feel the descent and 'there was evening and there was morning' that same rule remains because we are created beings and we can reach a certain discernment only on the condition that first we feel it's negation.
8. S. (19:54) What's the difference with this new king that arose in Egypt then just any kind of ascent and descent on the path?
R. They felt that it is a new character, of the ruling of the connection between them, that they don't want to connect between them, that they don't have a connection like they had before, Nevertheless, to some extent were connecting and getting closer and going towards a certain goal and now there's a new king. Show me will explain it more.
9. S. (20:45) I wanted to make a precision about this, it is said that Joseph didn't disappear, he stayed near them but then he seems that they started seeing him in their heart as like them. What is that state?
R. This is how they start to see each other like us. How do we know that we actually see our friends correctly? Each one sees it according to his own qualities. As we say that anyone who disqualifies is disqualifying through his own flaws. Therefore they could not detect him, they could not recognize him, they didn't see him, he disappeared from within them. This righteous one who called upon them to unite, Yoseph, Joseph from the word Yoseph together to put together and so no I don't know I don't even know I had to tell you about it. You can even read about it in the Torah this story or these excerpts and you will see where and how it is written about it.
10. S. (22:30) If we have to go through the descent so our approach when we noticed that we are in a descent, do we continue to ask of the Creator to bring us to connection back or we have to allow the descent to pass, that we just need to go through it and look for our stronger connection?
R. We need each time to search for a stronger connection and then we will see what it is that we have to change. Then we will see it.
11. S. (23:28) From what I have heard you saying and also in the passage that they would know Joseph only from the feeling in the heart, is it accurate to say that we can't trust our mind to rise but only try to feel what is in our heart and trust what we are feeling in our heart?
R. No, we can't trust anything. We should follow both our mind, our brain and our heart and to scrutinize it with our friends. What we are scrutinizing, if we are learning to see the group connected and united then out of there to wait understand and that this is our next correct milestone with all the conditions that I have within me now, if I can see one step ahead correctly, then what I see that the group that is more solidified, more connected, and this is is what I take my next step towards, my efforts just like Joseph. That each time wants to gather them to connect them and bring them to take a step forward.
This is how we should do it. The group of the men, the group of the women, the group of the children, it doesn't matter. This is the only thing we should have ahead of us, to be more connected in the right form, in the right connection, with a good, nice attitude towards each other. This should be as much as possible and it depends on which group it is. Each group has its own character but nevertheless it's a Ten that has within it all the means, all the vessels or the new qualities of its own. We can't say precisely, how it should be precisely but certainly connected, more and more as much as possible even though we see along with that certain qualities, seemingly even despicable ones that we discover in the group. We have to work on them in order to connect them together somehow and together with everyone to take steps forward towards a tighter and tighter connection.
S. Is it the collective mind because we can't trust our mind until the day we die? Only through the scrutiny in the group can we use that level of the mind, the collective mind? Is that what awakens the heart is that correct? Not the individual mind but the collective
R. Yes that's correct.
12. S. (27:40) We come out of Egypt once and for all but the king appears in each and every degree. Is it a new Aviut?
R. Yes it's a new coarseness.
13. S. (28:06) It is written they depicted the image of Joseph as it were because they did not know Joseph and the enslavement began. What does it mean that they depicted the image of Joseph in that sense?
R. They lost this Joseph who was explaining to them that we have to gather that we have to connect, to be together and was constantly directing them towards that disappeared and so they did not know precisely what is the form of connection that we have to achieve.
14. S. (29:11) If the group reaches the state of Joseph, if my friend does and I feel it, how can I support him so that it reaches all of the Ten?
R. You have to join him, your friend and help him. If he is working in the right direction you'll have to join him and work together with him.
15. S. (30:03) I want to clarify, if I understand correctly. I heard you say that when Joseph disappeared from the feeling they lost the degree of unity, they lost the understanding that they should unite and also that they thought that it needs to be like this, that this was correct? I wonder if it sounds like that the Creator gave them double concealment?
R. What is the question?
S. What is the benefit of double concealment over single concealment? Why did the Creator give them a resistance for connection. He made them even forget that they should be united?
R. We don't yet know what double concealment vs single concealment is. Let's wait until we learn it. You guys always want to jump a little bit ahead before we learn these materials.
16. S. (31:29) We said that first we have to achieve this state of lack of connection and then we can attain the connection. Now this state of lack of connection can be dangerous for the Ten if we don't work with it correctly so how do we work properly so how to feel the lack of connection?
R. We try to be connected in the ordinary manner as we understand it as people until we get better at it and each time we elevate ourselves to a higher degree of connection.
17. S. (32:24) How does perceiving more and more of a general system assist us in setting the Creator as the general king above the Pharaoh?
R. This is through the group work, soon we will talk about it. You are jumping a little bit ahead with your questions.
18. S. (33:03) When we see that we've lost the quality of Joseph, how can we immediately renew the quality of Joseph? How can we make this quality?
R. We should start to connect and how to connect we will learn.
19. S. (33:37) As the friend from Toronto asked, is the only path to know Joseph is the connection? If we're outside the connection then we cannot understand anything and know anything?
R. Of course, it's impossible. How can we know if we are not in the same measure of connection between us as is required. It is impossible because we need to reach out feeling and understanding of what is the spiritual world and the spiritual world is revealed in a common mind and heart. Therefore, if we do not connect then we cannot at all feel and understand what spirituality means. We don't understand any of it.
20. S. (35:05) If we recognise our dependency on Pharaoh each and every moment does it release our desire for connection? Does connection become natural in that state?
R. Of course, it is natural. Of course, if you want to unite then there are no other possibilities that remain for us to connect except for us running away from Pharaoh.
S. Meaning the recognition of our dependency greenlights our connection?
R. Yes, if we could attend to all of it like that of all of humanity, we would get rid completely of all of the problems, of all of the problems. We, nevertheless, we will try and we will wait.
21. S. (36:27) How do we use our qualities in Ten in order to find the collective quality of Joseph. What is the right way please?
R. Each and every day or even a few times a day I criticize myself, how am I connected with the friends? I think about how to get closer to them, how to feel them more, how to truly enter into their heart and be with their inner feelings. This is how we transform ourselves and we reach being as one man with one heart.
22. S. (37:25) How can we attain the complete measure of the need to bestow?
R. The complete measure or quota of the need to bestow you will attain that only at the end of correction. Then you will want with all of your force, with all of your mind, and with all of your heart to bestow to others. We reach that bit-by-bit, gradually.
23. S. (38:17) Is there a difference between this new king and pharaoh?
R. Yes, seemingly it is a new pharaoh. Yes, the previous pharaoh died and now a new pharaoh raises a new King. Meaning that in the head and heart of each and every friend in the group there is a feeling of a new dominion, a new ruling, that now I want something else and I understand and feel it is considered that a new pharaoh has appeared.
24. S. (39:52) How can we give life and hope and energy and love and the feeling of confidence and strength to the friends in the Ten?
R. According to his own example, according to his desire and his external actions.
25. S. (40:43) As I remember it from the Torah that we are now talking about Joseph as the quality of connection but there he is depicted as a person who has a special garment and
R. Do you have any concrete question on what we are studying now or do you want to scrutinize what is in the Torah?
S. How is the quality of connection, how is it depicted by a special garment and the envy that evokes, the special attitude that he received from his father, how is this related to his quality?
R. The quality of Bina is characterized by us recognizing the necessity for connection to attain and achieve the next state for which we were born and developed and this is why we need to move towards it. We don't need to be wise about it.
S. Why does it evoke envy in brothers?
R. It evokes envy because he is more advanced.
S. What does it mean that he has a special garment?
R. Clothing means reflected light, meaning that he has a greater strength to advance, a greater strength to understand what is happening to him.
26. S. (42:54) A new king that arose in Egypt does it to a new level of recognition of evil meaning we discover how much the evil inclination is great and we are immersed in it?
R. Yes.
S. This is considered a great descent?
R. Look there is no ascent without a descent, this is how it needs to be.
27. S. (43:36) Why did the Jewish people move away from the Creator, from faith and go do to exile even though they always kept the Torah?
R. Because they have a special role and they have to advance first and pull behind or draw behind all of the other nations and groups, and tens.
28. S. (44:14) I wanted to ask whether I can ask something that might add the topic of prayer?
R. No, no it is not the topic I am sorry.
Reading excerpt #46. (44:33) “Since the evil inclination comes to a person..”
Reading Excerpt #47. (45:52) “What is “And a new king arose..” twice.
29. S. (47:12) Does a person have the ability to know that a new king arose in him?
R. He feels that there's a big change from what he had yesterday vs today.
S. Can he attribute it to Pharaoh?
R. Yes, he can attribute it to Pharaoh or the Creator, but he can tell the difference from what he had before to what he has now.
30. S. (47:56) We still have a corporeal connection between us?
R. Yes, perhaps yes, but what is important for us is how much we depend on each other for our spiritual connection. Meaning how important is the goal for us, that we can attain the goal only if we connect between us, in the center of our connection we attain the goal, so that connection that you can call spiritual or group connection is important to us.
S. Because in the beginning you said we have to lose the corporeal connection between us: what does it mean?
R. That it won't be important for us, that what is important will only be the spiritual.
S. I'm trying to understand, do we need to lose the connection? The fact that we meet a few times a day on zoom meetings and we have scrutiny, a part of this means to lose the connection?
R. No, that you maintain connection between you in advance.
31. S. (49:41) When a new king arose the entire ten looses the feeling of Joseph, the common feeling, or is it individuals?
R. Mostly the ten.
S. All of us together? Not that we have some balance, we lose it or hold on to it?
R. No it doesn't happen according to some ring and a bell, or some indication, or sign but more or less that's how it happens.
S. If everyone loses it, what if the Ten loses it, how does it start anew?
R. We call it starting anew, but nothing starts anew, it is based on the previous Reshimo.
S. So what happens when the entire Ten loses the feeling of Joseph? And a new king arose, what happens next in the Ten?
R. Now they feel themselves lost, broken, that they don't belong to anything, that they have nothing and everything is dark. It happens this way and then they start from scratch.
S. So how do they gather themselves anew from where?
R. First of all we have to understand that it is not us advancing, it is the Creator advancing us. That's one and two, out of the descent we start to better understand what state we were in and what state we now need to be in.
32. S. (51:10) What exactly is Pharaoh king over?
R. Our will to receive. That he wants to control the mind and heart. He has an interest that. He wants to feel everything, know everything. He doesn't allow rising above the corporeal senses.
S. But why is he defined as king?
R. Because he governs a person, it said man is born with an evil inclination.
S. Defining someone as king, isn't it something that one does willingly?
R. No, whether you like it or not the ego governs you, that's called the King.
S. Where here is the state where the Creator is a king, why is Pharaoh specifically the King?
R. The Creator is not a king yet, in our feelings in our mind nowhere. When I make some calculations and I am going to succeed, I'm going to benefit to connect and so forth. I don't take it into account that there is some upper influence of the Creator here. I only take into account my ability and the ability of others who are influential who influenced me.
S. Ok, so what exactly is the role of Pharaoh besides emphasizing for you that you are in reception, what is his role?
R. That's exactly the role of Pharaoh to show me that I am under his domain and that is sufficient for me to ultimately hate him and escape him.
S. What does he do to seemingly leads us to a certain recognition of evil. What is the result of his work on us?
R. The results of the work is that we will hate him and wish to escape.
33. S. (53:49) It says here that the evil inclination is renewed each time, is there a way to identify to detect that when we work in the ten with which a certain feeling of connection, feeling of upliftment. Before we reach this free fall, is there a way to detect the renewal of the evil inclinations so that we can overcome it more easily?
R. Only by connection between us.
S. But where is this detection that now there is some renewal that we are crowning a new king and we don't even pay attention to it that we are doing some incorrect work we left the connection and we are now coming to a different place?
R. If you are aimed correctly towards the goal, you start to feel how much the connection to the friends is aiming you towards the goal or not.
34. S. (55:28) If the evil inclination is already known to us, familiar to us from the descent, then this quality of bestowal that appears at the age of 13 we get it as an obstacle but it also comes from the Creator?
R. Well, that all comes out for you that it passes to you emotionally and it is not exactly that way.
35. S. (56:05) That feeling of a new king is when we lose interest in the corporeal world and we feel a burdening because nevertheless we have to work in it?
R. Yes.
S. And this is the new king, this transition point?
R. We have to obey the new reign, yes.
S. So this is a burdening over us?
R. What can you do? Yes.
Reading excerpt #48. (56:50) “And a new king arose over Egypt..”
36. R. (57:56) Ok, that we will have to learn later on, not now that we will compare between all the states. Let's continue.
Reading Excerpt #49. (58:22) “It is written, come unto pharaoh..”
37. R. (1:00:15) So, what is happening? The Creator says come onto pharaoh, how could it be that the Creator says to a person come to Pharaoh? Then let's approach the evil inclination, your ego and so forth, let's discover it more. That is only in order for the person to see who he is facing, that the evil inclination awakens in him increasingly and ultimately, he has no choice but to turn to the Creator and ask the Creator and ask the Creator for help. There, the Creator will help him and raise him above his ego and that is how a person words moves towards spirituality. This is what is happening here.
38. S (1:01:13) How is the rule of the new king different from the rule of the old king?
R. Everything works according to the will to receive, the only question is in what way and to what extent we want to work with the will to receive.
S. In the state of the Old King, we know that there is another level but we're not capable of reaching it? In the state of the new king, we know that there's only that level, then that's it? The second state?
R. In the second state, we see that it all comes from the Creator and we have to turn to him in order to rise above the new king the, the new ego.
S. In the Old State, we do not understand that it's coming from the Creator?
R. No.
39. S (1:02:14) To come to this cry out, what wonders me is that we are born as an ass, we're born in the evil inclination, we have a king that is the Pharaoh that is against connection. We have Joseph that disappeared, so what is left to come to the outcry when the heart is hardened, so how can we come to this outcry when everything is gone?
R. Nothing disappears if we work correctly then we come to the cry that we want to get rid of the evil inclination that keeps obligating us in our ego to be against society, against the friends, against the Creator. And we see it negatively, therefore, we cry and ask for a change in relation to the evil inclination and into relation to the Creator.
S. (1:03:45) What is this force which is left for us, let's say, to keep going to come to the outcry? What force is left here for us? So what can we do to come above all of this, to come to the outcry?
R. Only if we connect as much as possible in the corporeal sense and then we cry to the Creator and we as much as we can, and that's what saves us.
40. S (1:04:42) A few times already, you directed us in recent days to read the Torah in the archive. We have only a link, but the materials are not there and I'm afraid of going to other places.
R. Very good, we will look into to these things. How can it be that in our archive we don't have the book of Torah in all the languages?
S. Well as of today I looked and it was not there.
R. Don't worry don't worry, we will fix it today.
S. Maybe we can read it together in the lesson.
R. No no, not necessary. You need to have it there for general education during the day.
41. S (1:05:55) He writes that the person cries out to the Creator and by that he will have a vessel, what is the relation between these two things?
R. By the person crying to the Creator that he needs help, he is going to have the strength and understanding of how to receive the help from the Creator.
S. We want to bestow, but we can't. We can see that in the 10, in the group, that's it, we can't. That is the vessel. Why should the outcry come?
R. It's still not the actual vessel because you do not have the response, you don't have anything, you have to turn the Creator with this desire and ask him with for strength that will shape you and give you both understanding and power to work towards the benefit of the 10. To advance another step towards the goal.
S. What is the correct outcry? What should we cry about?
R. Connection, there is no more. Connection will give you strength.
42. S (1:07:15) If I understand correctly, the moment that the new king appears the person or the group need to be concerned. The Creator makes it so he works with them more seriously? Is that how it is?
R. I did not understand the question.
S. It says that when a man is born a wild ass, where it is called the excerpt here, we say that the new king arose over Egypt. We see that the person receives a new burdening, and we say that it is a new stage in the development of the person where the Creator himself is already working with him. This is why he's getting those burdenings?
R. Yes yes, but what is the question?
S. From that, the Torah is depicting the whole depiction of Egypt with many details. It is all beautiful, but we cannot distinguish all these details, we can't discern them. So, much later will the person be able to discern them?
R. When the person begins to feel the quality of the still, he begins to really feel what the Torah is really talking about. You understand? Otherwise, he does not feel.
S. Yes, but the person can feel it to a small extent? There are many details, definitions, and names in the Torah.
R. He does not feel anything because he does not have spiritual vision, he does not understand these qualities that the Torah describes. They do not reverberate in him.
S. So, when does a person discover completely this whole depiction?
R. When he discovers the Torah in full, when he draws the light that reforms, when the lights shines on him and reveals everything to him.
S. This happens a lot later I guess?
R. Yes of course it happens afterwards, according to his ascent.
43. S (1:09:46) Does this desire signify a beginning of a new state? If so, how should we work in this new condition?
R. According to the new desire. The coarseness, the screen and so forth. That is how we work.
44. S (1:10:33) Can you help us to depict and discern, what will be our state after we will overcome the new king? Because it is very difficult for us to find the love between us opposite this new king because he is powerful. Can you help us understand what will our connection be like after we overcome him?
R. You are right, all of our work against the new king is in having to connect with our new and enhanced desire. And that's what we need to do and to the extent that we connect on top of the ego, against our ego, the new ego. So against the new ego that is called the new king, we attain a new form of connection and these are basically the states of the degrees that we have to rise through.
45. S. (1:12:24) If a person receives a burdening of the heart, he cannot return to his Creator, what does he need in order to cry out?
R. The friends, they have to help him. t
They have to ask and cry and disagree.
Reading item #50 (1:13:15) “This is what the greater gave to Moses in the verse..”
46. R (1:14:32) Meaning the main thing that we need are letters, in other words the discernments that we have in our desires, our thoughts and relative to the Creator, how do we attain it? By attaining it between us but attaining it between us, the connection, this connection. Nearing separation from all those things, we need to attain the changes that are called the letters of the work, and from them, we put together our attitude, our new sense. And that is how we advance. I don't know if I expressed it clearly, but this is an important thing.
47. S (1:15:56) Come to Pharoah, who is Moses and when does it happen?
R. It happens when we are in Egypt. Moses is there; it is clear to us who he is. And that is what he says, Moses come to pharaoh.
S. What does it mean in our work that we come to the Creator, he takes us by the hand, and he gives us confidence?
R. We have not reached it yet and we still are not connected between us. We have to be connected somehow. Needing the connection between us and then from needing the connection between us. Even to the smallest extent the first degree of connection between us, to be in that, to lose it, to discover if in this way we feel that we are in connection or lack of connection between us. If that is the case, then we will be able to come closer to feel that we have a connection between us and the Creator. This way we will reach the redemption from that, the Revelation of the Creator between us. Otherwise, no.
S. When does such a deficiency for a connection come in a feeling that we are in the exile?
R. When you ask yourself what will I have if I do not feel any change with each passing day, any advancement, eventually from these questions, you come to an answer. Which is I do not have it because I do not yearn for it and I do not carry out the act of connection. Then you start to ask where are the actions of connection? These feelings that we need to feel that we are connected between us. Where are my friends, and where am I with them and so on and so forth. Through the search you come to a state that you see that in truth I have no semblance of the power of connection. I have no desire to connect in my heart so what can I do? How can I take my friend with me together, and walk together.
With one, with the second one, the third one. How can we do it? And then from these questions, these revelations you begin to see that we have no choice. We must search for how to find the friends, how to connect with them, how to initiate the connection with them, to dig in to things, to browse, to find the kind of connection that will be called The Creator then you grab hold of them, you embrace them, you don't even know what to do with them. But until you find them between them all of this is how I'm advancing towards this concept of the creator who exists in the connection between us. So when I embrace them, I surround them in this way, I find the Creator. And when we do it, we discover both the Creator and the pharaoh and ourselves. And there's nothing more than me, the ten, or the group, or BB in general, all of humanity, whoever joins in, and the Creator. That is how we advance. Besides that, we have nothing to do, only this. But, don't let go, don't forget, don't run away from it.
48. S (1:21:39) What does it mean spiritual view and how is it expressed in the connection between us?
R. Spiritual sight and vision means that I can feel degrees in nearing or in separation. This is the meaning of spiritual sight or vision.
49. S (1:22:14) I see that the more we connect my vessel becomes larger. What is the difference between the different qualities of connections?
R. When you reach it, you will get it. I cannot tell about it. It's too broad of a topic
50. S (1:22:50) Is that degree of reaching Pharaoh, is that an opportunity that we have in order to work in mind and heart?
R. Yes, that is how we need to advance.
51. S (1:23:33) We are talking here of the heaviness of the heart in the excerpt that we read: what kind of prayer do we need to raise in order to remove this heaviness of the heart, and how we can soften our hearts in our relations between the friends?
R. If we rub our hearts together, between us, between the friends, then we will remove the shell from the heart and each and every heart will be naked and bare. Without its shell, it's husk, you will be able to feel the other hearts and you will be able to feel and connect as one man, one heart and this way we will feel the Creator inside our common connected heart. This will be the end of correction.
52. S (1:25:04) Is the entire creation the vessel that which was shattered which we are reconnecting through our connections or Corrections?
R. Very good grandpa, you're only talking about it right now we've been in it forever, for a long time, but very good. You know you discovered it for yourself very well.
53. S (1:25:48) The letters of the work are the same deficiencies that we revealed in the 10 in contrast to what the Pharaoh reveals in us?
R. Yes.
S. Is this the end of the work?
R. It's not the end of the work, but that's the work for the time being. And we do not discover, do not reveal more than one step ahead of us that we have to get through.
54. S. (1:26:29) I feel upliftment and great forces that are pushing me forward as a result of our efforts to unite in the ten. I tried checking, examining, if these sensations are egoistic sensations or not and I was not able to find anything egoistic. So, is it possible that my excitement in the situation that I felt comes from some kind of spiritual upliftment or a spiritual connection or should I delve deeper into my examination and then I will either find or not find that it is egoistic?
R. Gradually, we will discover what we are lacking, what we can add to the connection between us and when we add what is missing to the connection, we discover a new degree in the connection, and in it too, we discover what we can add, and that is how we climb the ladder of degrees. And this is how we will rise more and more. I'm happy that you are feeling it and that it is happening in you already.
55. S. (01:28:15) Is the Exodus expressed in the ten, in the transition from me to we and to the Creator?
R. Yes, precisely, well put.
Reading Excerpt #51. (01:28:44) “Come unto Pharaoh, meaning both of us together, in other words a person should begin..”
56. R. (01:29:19) Meaning how does the Creator help a person who is under the rule of the ego, under the rule of Pharaoh and where each time he is becoming bigger and bigger. The Creator then gives the person strength to go against him, called a new soul, a holy soul. Meaning the force of bestowal that is uncovered in the person, accordingly a person can wake up and advance.
57. S. (01:30:15) He's writing that the person is able to start but he's not able to defeat. Have we started? It's not felt that we are working but there's not yet an appeal in the cry out to the Creator?
R. We need to see we need to make sure we are turning to the Creator, that we want to receive help from Him, since we have no choice. And we must have the force of bestowal a new force, a force of connection: we only can get it from the Creator so we turn to Him and try to turn to Him collectively as a group in the ten. And then we will certainly receive all the powers from Him and be able to take another step forward and another step and another step. And then when we've covered a few steps, then we will be able to criticize and scrutinize these degrees. What are these degrees? What is the difference between the degrees? How do we climb them, how does the Creator help us? And this will give us the letters of the work. We will advance in this way and we will learn how to cross the path. So from step to step, degree to degree, state to state, how do we climb, what do we acquire, what influences us, all of those things we need to check.
S. How can we reach that from this ongoing work, step by step, we can truly reach a cry and not just get used to doing the work on the regular level?
R. If we wish to reach the goal then the Creator is preparing for us here along the way, Pharaoh, the snake, it doesn’t matter what we call it: the will to receive, the evil inclination, and we need to cry for help from the Creator to help us rise from the corporeal degree to the spiritual degree. To give us the forces of bestowal from Him and then through these forces of bestowal we will begin to feel the upper world, these spiritual forces of bestowal, and then it will be clear for us where we are, what is the true reality that is now concealed that we are nevertheless approaching.
S. What is the difference between working as we are now and one that will lead us to the cry and reaching out to the Creator?
R. In working and crying out to the Creator, we relate to the Creator as the source of our spiritual success and we demand from Him to help us. And that is how we advance, meaning we take the Creator as our partner, as One who is walking ahead of us and we follow Him, as it is written, ‘follow Me into the desert,’ and that is how we advance. In other words, we are scrutinizing for ourselves additional ways to advance until we are able to hold onto the Creator, grasp Him, grab Him, more and more like children who grab hold of their parents who walk behind the grown up, even grab hold onto the coat or something and we are the same, and later more and more.
58. S. (01:35:05) How to transition from an indifferent heart to a heavy heart so that we will be able to reach a true cry?
R. How to go from an indifferent heart to a heavy heart? Only through the help of the society can I accelerate my development. I mean I'm connected to the friends, I learn from them how to be more connected, in what ways. That is how it is, this is how we quickly reach connection
59. S. (01:35:58) I heard you say before that a person needs to be in a constant search for where am I, what is my connection, where are my friends? So what to do if it is difficult to remain in the thought, I'm not even able to ask myself? Suddenly comes a stream of thoughts and takes me somewhere else?
R. What can you do? Hold on to the friends more and more. It will not take you to some sidestream.
S. What does it mean to cling on to the friends if I'm not with the friends now and I'm trying to scrutinize what you said: what does it mean to cling onto the friends?
R. Hold onto the friends, meaning to connect them and scrutinize with them all these spiritual states. There is no spirituality without connection with the friends. There simply isn’t.
S. How can we scrutinize something with the friends?
R. You imagine to yourself that you are connected with them and then you scrutinize all the spiritual states: without that there's no spirituality.
S. Just to imagine, in my imagination, that I'm connecting with them and then what?
R. And then ask yourself what you wish to scrutinize.
S. And if that thought also escapes after half a second?
R. You cannot escape thoughts that are bothering us.
S. How can a person get a need for this?
R. Only with the need for it, that's enough.
Reading Excerpt #52. (01:38:28) “Come and not go. Come means, come, the two of us together..”
Reading Excerpt #53 (01:39:15) “It is written" come, because Moses could not defeat..”
60. R. (01:39:30) With the Pharaoh, and then Moses got in between and participated in this way as well.
Reading Excerpt #54 (01:39:45) “But the Creator said, I am not a messenger..”
61. S. (01:41:25) From one state to the next, each one has their Pharaoh or are they pushed to..?
R. Yes, always, new Pharaoh, new Moses. Everything is new in each and every degree.
62. S. (01:41:56) How is this help formed from the Creator?
R. Well, each time it is different but typically through the group; everything's through the group. The group is like a connector, the adapter that connects us to the Creator. If you connect to the group, we are able to connect with Him.
Reading Excerpt #55. (01:42:48) “Sometimes a person begins the work of bestowal..”
63. S. (01:44:15) When did the Creator help Moses?
R. When Moses truly cries out and is asking for help and is in need of help, otherwise the Creator cannot help him, he needs a true lack for help from the created being and then he helps.
64. S. (01:44:56) Maybe it's a bit of an innocent question, but at the end everything is done by the Creator and the deficiency He gives us is given to by the light so what are we doing, we're just adhering to his pace?
R. We need to carry out the commands or the orders of the upper nature and the commands of bestowal even though we're unable to do it we turn to the Creator and the Creator is doing all those corrections on us, and this means that we are partners with the Creator. We reveal the deficiencies in us and the weaknesses and the inabilities to do anything of the upper nature, we ask the Creator to change our nature, and then he changes it and we can be in the upper nature; the nature of bestowal. That's how it works.
65. S. (01:46:28) In item 54, it says there, that when a person advances in the work he receives the first assistance and then he understands what he is truly lacking which are two qualities, mind and heart: could you explain what these qualities are?
R. That's what we have, we have no more than these two qualities, the heart is what feels and the brain is what understands. After all, that's it and none of us has any other qualities, only the ability to understand what we are feeling. That's why first the heart and then the brain.
Reading Excerpt #56. (01:47:47) “Come to pharaoh..”
66. S. (01:48:52) Is there anger in the outcry? Is it a result of anger?
R. No, the cry comes out as a result of the feeling of weakness of oneself, you feel like you can't do anything and I discover the nothingness of my own powers on the one hand. On the other hand, the cry continues because that's what the Creator did to me, so I guess that's how it should be, for me to be created in such a weak way.
S. Is it a result of despair?
R. No, not despair, but to the extent that I am crying out I need to understand that it comes from the Creator on purpose and the Creator created me in such a way so that I will cry out as a result of my weakness and through the feeling of my weakness I will understand that it is the desirable thing, that I will annul relative to the Creator. The day I annul towards Him and I reach a state where I have no choice but to cry out to Him to help me, help me and in this way we are going to get additional powers of salvation. More than seeing ourselves in a state of zero power relative to the Creator, we don't need anything more, we just need to attain that, then we can receive everything that's required in order to reach the complete correction.
67. S. (01:51:18) Does Pharaoh also come to us through the friends?
R. No, it's typically not through the friends but through all kinds of other means, the friends together with the person are on the path together.
68. S. (01:51:51) We learned that there is no Pharaoh, it is the Creator, so who are we fighting against?
R. We are struggling with whoever is above us: either the Pharaoh or the Creator.
69. S. (01:52:28) When it says in the text, messenger: who is it referring to Pharaoh?
R. I don't know what you're talking about, which excerpt?
S. It says here in the excerpt, I am not a messenger?
R. I am not a messenger, this means that the Creator says that I myself am taking care of the person and not through all kinds of messengers.
S. This messenger here, in this context, is that Pharaoh?
R. Probably yes, but it's not the point, the important thing is that it's the Creator Himself who is doing it.
70. S. (01:53:36) What's the difference when Pharaoh says to Abraham, ‘go to Pharaoh or come.’ What's the difference between go or come?
R. You have to ask about it when you are being lifted up or brought down, when you feel that the Creator is saying come unto Pharaoh and you resist, you may not want to reveal the ego in you so you will have to wage war against it. Let’s say today, the ten is telling you, we are gathering today, during the day for the day, for another meeting and you don't want to do it, so what are you doing, are you running away from them, come up with excuses, or nevertheless, you're going to that meeting? So, think about it, how you are advancing with the group.
71. S. (01:55:20) You spoke about this already, but in Shamati, 1, Baal HaSulam writes there in the name of Baal Shem Tov, that however says that there are Klipot he's experiencing a transgression but here too, what is this point where we are transitioning from Pharaoh or having troubles from him to viewing that the Creator is doing it?
R. Because There Is None Else Besides Him after we scrutinize everything and we see the opposing forces. one against the other. we have to say that nevertheless. they all have one source, one place, and we receive everything from that place.
72. S. (01:56:20) I heard that more than seeing ourselves as being in lack of strength in relation to the Creator, we need a vessel and because we are facing preparation for Passover and all the world Kli is arriving and we're here in a very intense week, how can we, as one Kli truly reach this point so that we'll find that we ourselves are not in this state of zero and to really prepare for the state?
R. We have time, we will organize ourselves so that we will be connected to such an extent that anyone who wishes to come out of Egypt will be able to do it, to be connected to us, to the center of our connection, and he will feel how the environment is raising him from in order to receive to in order to bestow.
