37. Three Roshim [head, pl. of Rosh] were engraved one inside the other, HS inside Galgalta, and one above the other, RADLA above Galgalta.
One Rosh, HS, is covered and does not open. HS is the Rosh for all the other Hochmot [pl. of Hochma]; it is the first Rosh from above downward.
The second Rosh, the upper Rosh, is holy Atik, the most concealed of all that are concealed, Galgalta of AA.
The third Rosh, the highest of all, is the Rosh of every Rosh, a Rosh that is not a Rosh, since Rosh indicates that it is beginning of an expansion and attainment, while there is no attainment whatsoever from this Rosh. It will not be known and it is unknown what there is in this Rosh since it did not adhere to Hochma or to Tevuna. For this reason, it is called “Now therefore, flee to your place,” and also, “And the animals ran back and forth,” since there is no attainment there.
After the breaking of the vessels, when the correction and scrutiny to correct the Partzufim of Atzilut began, the more refined—in which no grip to the shells was depicted—was sorted first. This is the correction of the three Roshim one inside the other, one above the other. First, RADLA was sorted, Partzuf Atik, which is above it, meaning it has no connection to the Sefira Hochma, which, with respect to Keter, Hochma is called a throne of sparks of fire since upper Hochma and lower Hochma in Atzilut expand from it, for in the bottom Hochma there is a grip to the shells.
It follows that because there is no revelation of Hochma in RADLA, as it is a Rosh that is not a Rosh, since it did not adhere to Hochma or to Tevuna, there is no disclosure of HB in it. Instead, it is entirely under the control of Hassadim.
After that upper Rosh was corrected, the most refined of all of them, two Roshim were established one inside the other, HS inside Galgalta. First, the Galgalta was established, which is the phase of Keter, and also entirely under the control of the Hassadim, as with RADLA. However, it is the Keter, which has a connection to the Hochma to that extent one inside the other, for Hochma surrounds and exists from that Keter. Hence, that Rosh is not as refined as RADLA.
After these two Roshim, which emerged in the phase of Hassadim, HS came out, which is the Rosh of the expansion of the light of Hochma. For this reason, three Roshim are needed, for each Rosh has a unique operation, and each upper one protects the one below it.
38. This is why holy Atik, Galgalta of AA, is called Ein [nothing], since Ein depends on it, on RADLA. That is, since that Rosh, Galgalta, is close to RADLA, which is of zero attainment, there is no attainment in it, too, which is why it is called Ein. This indicates that there is no attainment in it whatsoever. And for this reason, all the hairs and the capillaries on the Galgalta [skull/head] are not from Galgalta because there is no grip to the judgments in it. Rather, they emerge from MS [Mocha Stimaa]. Because it is the Rosh [also beginning] of the expansion of Hochma, since upper Hochma expands from it—where in the end, the Hochma is revealed in Malchut—there is already room for judgments there.
The hairs are the root of the judgments, from the verse, “With a hair [also “storm”], he will crush me.” This is why the hair of the head and the hair of the beard comes out from MS. However, here, there are no judgments in the hair, but only roots. This is why they are all smooth, meaning soft, without judgment. Also, they are equal to each other, of equal weight, since here, everything is one light of Rachamim, and the nape is unseen since the nape implies judgment and posterior, as it is written, “For they have turned their back to me, and not their face.”
39. Because holy Atik is in one light, the control of Hassadim, and there is no place for revealing of judgment in it, and it is all in joy and never changes from the illumination of Rachamim, although we discern three lines in it—right, left, middle—it does not change at all from the right line, and it is in Rachamim and Hassadim to the world. It is in the thirteen qualities of Rachamim because the HS in it is divided into four three times, which are twelve. He, Atik himself, includes them and controls everything, and this is why they are thirteen qualities together with him.
There are three lines in HS, where in each line there are HB TM, which are twelve phases. With the inclusion of holy Atik, who controls them, they are thirteen phases. Thirteen corrections come out from these phases in Dikna of AA, which are called “thirteen qualities of mercy [Rachamim],” as well as thirteen phases in the Se’arot [hairs] of the Rosh of AA. Of those eight phases, four of the right line and four of the left line are on the Galgalta to the side of the Panim [anterior], and the four of the middle line are on the Galgalta behind the head.
