28. It is written, “The bird also has found a house, and the sparrow has a nest where she may lay her young, Your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.” “The bird also” means that the Creator has made on earth places and areas that are holy and higher than the rest of the settlements.
29. It is all as the creation of man: the Creator sorts that semen and shatters it as one who sorts and shatters wheat—separating the chaff from the straw—until He sorts the wheat to the proper place.
30. Thus the Creator created the earth: He took snow from under His throne, namely judgments of the left. The snow was warmed in several manners, and He threw it into the woman’s water, namely Malchut. Thus, the woman does not conceive until she lays MAN.
Into this water, the male, ZA, lays the snow. This is the semen that is more connected together than the woman’s semen, which is as snow upon water. They conjoin because snow is male judgments from Hochma without Hassadim, and water is Hassadim that ascend from the female judgment, therefore they complement themselves.
31. After the Creator cast the snow into the water, He sorted it, shattered, and made the navel first, which is one point out of what had been sorted out of the snow. The navel is the point of Zion.
32. Four threads expanded from there to the four directions of the world: east, west, north, and south, which are Tifferet, Malchut, Gevura, and Hesed. From that thread, which expanded from the east, from Tifferet, a body was made—beginning in the east and ending in the west, Malchut. The body is the land of Israel, and it is registered in the letters ADNI, who is the master and ruler of the whole world.
33. From the thread that extends from the south, which is the clearest out of the snow and is its strength, the right arm was made, which is chosen with delights. This is the Garden of Eden, in which Adam HaRishon entered and stands for the delight of the souls. It is covered and concealed, and is the right of the entire world.
34. From that thread which extends from the north, a left arm was made and created. This is Hell, which was made of the waste of the snow to punish the souls of the wicked.
35. The head of the world was established in the sky, and the world was headless until the Temple was built. Once the tabernacle was established, the head was established.
36. The mouth of the entire world, which was established in the head of the world, is Sinai, where the Torah was given. He registered the mouth inside the water from the sorting in the snow. The thighs and the rest of the organs are in the rest of the land.
37. And as the woman has pains and pangs during labor, when the Creator sought to elicit the earth to the world, the water ascended and descended, as it is written, “The mountains rose; the valleys sank down.” The Creator elicited from the earth thunders and horrors, and the water fled. It is written, “They flee from Your scolding; they scurry from the sound of Your thunder.” The earth came forth and remained low and filthy as this newborn that comes out of its mother’s womb as low as one who is dead, and dirty from the labor.
38. As one calls and shakes the newborn until it wakes up, and puts fire and a candle by its back to warm it, and a mirror to illuminate, so did the Creator with the earth when it emerged from the water. It is all written in one verse, as it is written, “The sound of Your thunder in the wheel,” which is the call so the earth will awaken. “Lightning lit up the world,” the fire and the candle to warm it. Then the earth awakened and the world emerged. Promptly, “The earth angered and quaked,” like a newborn crying when it wakes up.
39. Thus far the mouth of the earth has been closed, until Israel came to receive the Torah and the mouth has been opened at its head, which is in the sky. This is Sinai, where the Torah was given and the speech was established.
40. When Israel entered the land, that which was open, the mouth, closed. And that which was closed, the navel, opened. It is the opposite of man, in whom upon birth the navel closes and the mouth opens.
The mouth closes means that there was no speech in it once Moses had departed. The navel opened is the Temple. From there it eats what its mother eats and drinks what its mother drinks, and the whole world is nourished by the extract of the land of Israel.
The Temple is Bina in the earth, upper Ima. From there it eats what its mother eats, receiving from there the complete abundance from upper Ima. Throughout the world, that complete abundance is not to be found unless when nourished by the extract of the land of Israel.
41. This is why there are areas and places in the world that exceed one another in merit. The Garden of Eden, the right arm of the entire world, contains areas and places that exceed one another in merit, and there is the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
42. In one of those halls is the most concealed and hidden place. No one knows this place but one bird that comes three times each day and tweets in the tree in the garden, as it is written, “The bird also has found a house.”
43. The souls know their marks in that bird as they thank and praise when they exert in wisdom to know. And that bird enters the hall and hides and is concealed, and is unknown. And a sparrow is as it is written, “And the sparrow has a nest,” which is the holy soul that rises up free.
44. “And the sparrow has a nest” is Yovel [jubilee/50 year anniversary], Bina, as it is written, “And you shall sanctify the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty” [Dror means liberty, freedom and sparrow]. “[The sparrow] has a nest” in the upper Hochma, which is the Zivug of HB. A sparrow is above, in Bina, and a bird is below, in Malchut. Who is the one who “may lay her young”? The sparrow, who is the fiftieth year, Bina, which elicited six young, HGT NHY of ZA, and the bird, which is Malchut.
The Hochma is not revealed in any Sefira but Malchut. This is why it was said that there is one hall more concealed and hidden than all. It is the hall of Hochma, for the Hochma is more concealed than all the Sefirot.
And no one knows this place but one bird, Malchut, for only in Malchut does the Hochma appear. It comes three times daily, receiving from ZA three lines, called “three times.” “And tweets in the tree in the garden,” as it is written, “The bird also has found a house,” for a house is Hochma, as it is written, “In wisdom shall a house be built.” And the bird, Malchut, has found and attained the house, Hochma [wisdom].
Before Hochma is revealed in Malchut, the souls cannot receive the covered Hassadim from GAR of Bina, from upper AVI, who are called “freedom,” for only in upper AVI, who desire mercy and repel Hochma, is Hassadim regarded as more important than Hochma, and the Hassadim are GAR. But in the souls of the lower ones, which are offspring of ZON, which require Hochma, as long as they do not receive from the revealed Hochma in Malchut, the Hassadim they receive are regarded as VAK without a head, namely deficient and incomplete.
In that bird, the souls know their signs. Through her they recognize the Hassadim they receive from AVI, whether they are GAR of VAK without a head, when they thank and praise, and when they exert to know in Hochma.
And that bird enters the hall. That is, through praises and thanks and engagement in Torah, they raise MAN to that bird, Malchut, to enter the hall of Hochma, where she hides and is concealed, unknown, meaning that nothing pours down from her because the Hochma illuminates in her only from below upward.
That sparrow is the holy soul that ascends and is free. That is, when the soul rises to receive the Hassadim from upper AVI, she is free because they are the most complete Mochin from upper AVI, which are more important than GAR and are called “Mochin of freedom,” it is all once the Hochma in Malchut has already been revealed. However, before the Hochma is revealed in Malchut, the Hassadim in her are regarded as headless.
