Daily Morning Lesson: July 30, 2025

Part 1: Recorded lesson – Nov 24, 2021. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 70. With a Mighty Hand and with Fury Poured Out.

Reader: Dear friends, in the first part of the lesson we'll learn from a recorded lesson with Rav Laitman from November 24th, 2021. This is on Shamati, Article 70. You can find it in kabbalahmedia.info. Shamati 70, With a Mighty Hand and With Fury Poured Out.

M. Laitman: Alright, so I'll read:

To understand what is written, with a mighty hand and with fury poured out, will I be king over you, you should understand that there is a rule that there is no coercion in spirituality. As it is written, you did not call me Jacob, for you labored about me, Israel and there is the known interpretation by the Sayer of Dubna. Hence, what does with a mighty hand and with fury poured out, will I be king over you mean?

Meaning how does the Creator who take care of us, that we, for Him are so close, so that He's entirely in love—all His qualities are qualities of love. How can it be that He reveals a strong hand in His care of us? Meaning, it's not like us that, we out of lack of choice, also activate force, might, or punishments on the case, in order to educate them. But the Creator, why did He choose our path of progress, of caring for us in such a difficult manner, that in a mighty hand, He must be in relation to us? He explains here.

We should know that those who want to come into the work of the Creator, in order to truly adhere to Him and enter the King's palace.

Meaning for all the types of connections to the Creator, so not everyone is admitted.

Meaning not everyone is seemingly allowed, right? We have also this sensation, some more, some less, not everyone. Whether it's Moses or Rabbi Shimon, whether he is tested if he has no other desire but only a desire for Dvekut, adhesion—he is admitted.

Meaning, only with a strong desire to be adhered to the Creator, to be in adhesion, what we learned is according to those same qualities that we need to develop in us – to reveal in us. Because adhesion is called, equivalence of form between man and the Creator; so, only in such a manner we can progress.

How is a person tested if he has no other desire but only one desire?

Right? Only to resemble the Creator all the time, all the way, in every state and,

In this, that a person is given obstacles meaning he is given foreign thoughts and foreign messengers to obstruct him so he would leave this path and follow the path of all the people.

The land is desire so in all the desires of man he'll see that he has problems and he needs to also engage in those problems, and give them attention, and thoughts, and forces. And so, in such a manner, a person is tested: Can he overcome all the disturbances and to be only in one thought through all the means, to be adhered to the Creator?

If one overcomes all the difficulties and breaks all the bars that block him and little things cannot push him away,

To come closer to the Creator.,

Then the Creator sends him great Klipot, shells, peels, that the person shall not get closer to Him.

He does the opposite,

To deflect one from entering into adhesion with the Creator alone and with nothing else.

Just like us, we teach the children to walk, right, the little kid? We place him before us and we move back. We give him this disturbance and he's there, and he's like crying, and he doesn't know how to take a step forward. Then, slowly we maybe even move his legs. We, in such a manner give him the opportunity to progress, to understand what is desired of him. But, in any case, these states are very seemingly unpleasant because to the child it appears like we're leaving him. That this is not a game, that it's not good.

And so how is a person tested if he has no other desire? He's given disturbances, he has foreign thoughts and foreign messengers to obstruct him so he would leave this path that directs him to the Creator and follow the path of all the people.

This is the meaning, desire, that all his desires, he'll just spread himself out over everything.

{re-read} If one overcomes all the difficulties and breaks all the bars that block him and the little things cannot push him away, he has only to adhere to the Creator, only to find Him and be tied to Him.

If these little things cannot deflect one, then, if the little things cannot push him away, the Creator sends him a great Klipot, shells, peels to deflect one from entering into adhesion with the Creator alone.

This is the main thing, that all our disturbances are disturbances such that we won't adhere to the Creator; that this comes to us intentionally from the Creator, Himself, and nothing else.

This is considered that the Creator is rejecting him with a mighty hand and if the Creator does not show a mighty hand, it will be hard to push him away since he has a strong desire to adhere only to the Creator and to nothing else.

This, we need to work on: How do we enlarge, increase our desire to only adhere to the Creator and nothing else? Only by the group, right, we have two things, two, the Creator and the group. If the Creator—that we can't turn to Him directly—then, through the group, we turn to Him in the group. We prepare ourselves in the group and we turn to the Creator in demand of Him. The main thing is the group that must influence a person. In the meantime, in these stages, this is the main thing we need to reach, a desire to adhere to the Creator. And to realize this desire is possible only in the condition that we are in the group. In the group, we need, each time, to build the center of the group that all our desires and thoughts will be in such a manner that we are ready only for one thing. To be adhered with the Creator, to reveal Him in order to be adhered in Him.

One who doesn't have such a strong desire, when the Creator wants to reject one whose desire is not so strong, He pushes him away with a small thing by giving him a great desire for a corporeality.

Already, this person leaves the work of sanctity.

He leaves the holy work entirely and there's no need to repel him with a mighty hand.

Yet, when one overcomes all the hardships and the disturbances, nonetheless he overcomes by the group, by study, by persistence, he overcomes. One is not easily repelled from coming nearer to the Creator but with a mighty hand.

Yes, it's not that he's just left and come. No, he's given even greater disturbances and problems.

If one overcomes even the mighty hand and does not want to move from the place of Kedusha, of holiness whatsoever. From the Creator, from bestowal, from love, through all the friends, through the entire world. From love of the created beings to love of the Creator, he makes the effort to concentrate all that he understands and feels and studies that pertains to adhesion with the Creator, so he cannot.

If one overcomes even the mighty hand and does not want to move from the place of Kedusha, of holiness whatsoever but wants to adhere specifically to Him in truth and sees that he is repelled, then one says that fury is poured out on him. Otherwise, he would be allowed inside but because fury is poured out on him by the Creator

Not just fury is poured out on him, just whatever, but rather, that a person understands that this fury, these disturbances, they come from the Creator.

Thus, he is not admitted into the king's palace to adhere to Him.

Because this is the Creator's desire: to give him more disturbances. It's not that the Creator doesn't want him, rather, He wants him in a higher degree, to come nearer to Him.

It follows that before one wants to move from one's place and breaks in and wants to enter into the Creator, nonetheless

It doesn't matter how much he is repelled.

It cannot be said, beforehand, that he feels that fury is poured out on him. Rather, after all the rejections that he is rejected and he does not move from his place,

Meaning he is persistent and it’s urgent for Him, that he wants to enter into adhesion with the Creator,

Meaning when the mighty hand and the fury poured out have already been revealed upon him,

Yes, he lets go of everything.

Then “I will be king over you” comes true,

That a person, nonetheless, if nothing stops him when he advances, nonetheless. This is the border, this is the check, the test, that beyond this, he enters the king's palace

Because only through bursting in great efforts does the kingdom of heaven become revealed to him and he is rewarded with entering the king's palace.

Question (Moscow 1): (14:12) You once said that we don't engage in seeking after the Creator. But, rather, we need to look for all the ways of the Creator towards His creation, to differentiate that.

M. Laitman: I meant that we don't search for the Creator in a scientific manner, we search for Him in an emotional manner. Emotional means according to equivalence of form, that we want to attain qualities like the Creator: Bestowal, love, connection. Then, in these qualities, we do need to attain the Creator. But not that we're going, like in the path of scientists that want to reveal the Creator through the laws of nature—that will give us nothing.

Question (Moscow 4): (16:02) After all the efforts a person invests, if he, nevertheless, doesn't move from his place and wants to adhere to the Creator and it's his only desire. Then he begins to understand that this is the Creator that's doing all this to him. What is that moment that a person was battling, struggling, standing on place, and then understood?

M. Laitman: This is already the measure, extent of revelation of Creator to man, that a person begins to feel that everything that occurs with him is the Creator. Also, this is gradual, it's done gradually that, through the friends, through the group, through the study. Through participation in all sorts of activities and actions together, he begins to receive all sorts of types of illumination, light from the Creator through all these types of connections. And then, he begins to feel, to understand that all this comes from one source. Afterwards—this takes years—he begins to feel; this is after many falls, descents, all sorts of problems that are revealed. Fury poured out, like it's written there, with a mighty hand. Nonetheless, it comes to this, that a person begins to understand and feel that all that comes to him comes only from the Creator. And There Is None Else Besides Him, even the millions of people maybe, around him, and things that happen to him that, seemingly, have no connection to the upper force. That he is one and all these different things occurring to him, he begins to locate that all this comes from the Creator. But, why, how does he do this? Because he belongs to the group and, in the group, he makes the effort to see the entire group as one. And then he actually builds inside him, gradually, by the light that reforms that comes to him through the group, he begins to build inside him an attitude to all of reality, to the infinite phenomena that he identifies in it. This attitude and relation that it comes from, all, one source because his work in the Ten prepares him for this, that such he will relate to all of creation, to all of reality. By this, such, the Creator is revealed to him.

Meaning, as much as we make an effort to accept the group as one thing, accordingly, we learn and prepare our vessel to receive the reality as one reality, and such we progress.

Question (MAK 3): (20:17) Why do we use the use fury, and what's the difference between poured fury?

M. Laitman: The Creator that wants to bring a person truly near to Him, He needs to operate through all the evil inclinations in man. So, He gives man all sorts of disturbances in smaller degrees or greater degrees. And the more we advance, the disturbances are greater, and the less we advance, there's nothing to do, nothing we can do. The Creator, this is how He operates, as usual, like in school or later on in college, university, or our life. The more we advance to greater states, we work stronger, we learn more, we learn more difficult things, and so on. It's natural and that's how it is in spiritual degrees.

Question (Moscow 7): (21:51) Can a person differentiate between the disturbances that the Creator gives him with a mighty hand and light – soft ones?

M. Laitman: In the meantime, we can't exactly grade, sort out the disturbances from the Creator, according to degrees of thickness, coarseness, and screen, and so on. No, we can't but there will come a time that we will be able to arrange them in such a manner, yes.

Student: Usually, we learn that every disturbance that comes from the Creator, we can overcome—a person can overcome it—otherwise, the disturbance wouldn't come to him. But, here, Baal HaSulam writes that the Creator gives disturbances through a yearning for corporeality?

M. Laitman: This is intentional so you'll know how much you can and how much you can't. That, nonetheless, you're in the hands of the Creator and you must overcome this and oppose it. That's how it occurs, it's natural in the study; the entire study comes from this, that you're explained some small article. And, afterwards, you must, over some time, even till the end of your corporeal life and your spiritual life, to keep this article and to process it in higher and higher degrees.

Student: Is there at least one disturbance that comes from the Creator that a person is not capable of overcoming?

M. Laitman: Of course, because they want to make him stumble, make him fall or you think you fell because you didn't overcome, because you didn't want, or something. No, that, too, is done by the Creator. All these things are done by the Creator but what's important here is how much you participate in it. Ultimately, of course, everything will occur, what the Creator decides, ahead of time. But it doesn't need to chill us or to confuse us, we need to show here how much we are capable, how much we want to be—despite this—to be on the intention to bestow.

Question (Kiev 1): (24:57) He writes here about him not having another desire but to adhere to the Creator; such a person is given to enter. What is that condition that you have no other desire but adhesion?

M. Laitman: I don't understand you; you're not a small child anymore that has a lot of desires and jumps from one desire to another. I want this, I want that, not this, not that. The more a person matures, he is immersed in desires, you could say not many and doesn't jump from one desire to another, he becomes more stable, more stable.

Student: How can I depict to myself that there's but one desire towards the Creator but in practice there are many desires that control me? How should I build my focus that way?

M. Laitman: You're still thrown from one desire to another but ultimately, soon, you'll come to one desire – only adhesion with the Creator – more than this I don't want. All the rest of the things, suddenly, become not so important. They'll work out on their own, I don't need to pay attention to them and that's how it occurs, that's it. It will happen. It will come. It will.

Question (Latin 8): (26:56) Why is it difficult to connect all the disturbances we come with the fact that the Creator is The Good That Does Good? Can it be given only above reason?

M. Laitman: It's because you are not in the group in a strong manner because if you would look at the group, you would see that they are successful. Then, by envy, lust, and honor, you would be very envious of them and you would also succeed.

Question (Woman Moscow 6): (28:14) With which vessels does the Creator use to perform disturbances? How is a strong arm expressed?

M. Laitman: A mighty hand is not for weak people, rather, as much as it is written, all who is bigger than his friend, his inclination is bigger. And, thus, the Creator awakens greater desires, corporeal ones, and whatnot. Conditions, corporeal conditions such that we begin to get confused, we begin to sway off the path. I see that I am right and justified, that I don't love the friends, that I don't want to be with them, and rightly so, that they're like this, they're like that, that it's not really worth being with them and so on. In short, the mighty hand is revealed more and more but in strong people. Meaning, the mighty hand—let's say this: After we have the first connection in the Ten but, it's not simple and I don't think our Tens are truly in this. But, after we reveal the connection between us in the Tens. And in that same Ten that has reached such a correct mutual connection between the friends, already what occurs after this, you can call this, let's say, let’s say, a mighty hand. Because then, they begin to reveal that they separate between them by the disturbances and that's called, the mighty hand—that the Creator is doing this to them.

Question (W MAK 36): (30:36) How can the Ten help a person resist the Klipot and these challenges?

M. Laitman: By this, that it holds everyone, that the entire Ten must be as one man in one heart and not let anyone run away. And to respect each and every friend that, this, that they have a place in the Ten is a very great thing. And everyone loves him and expects him also to love everyone. Here, we must take into account that all who is larger than his friend has a greater inclination. That, here, the disturbances are according to how big the person is. How, according to how big his soul must be in the end—such—and now, in the middle of the path, it is heavy in coarseness. This coarseness, when it will be corrected, it will be, accordingly, against this, in contrast, in great refinement; coarseness turns into refinement by the light that reforms. It turns out, all who is greater than his friend in spiritual attainment, then his inclination is bigger than him, meaning in his evil inclination but, this, that he be able to—by restriction, reflected light—will be able to turn it to good.

Question (W Moscow 8): (32:29) What does it mean that a person has both a desire for the Creator and other desires, simultaneously?

M. Laitman: This is what we have, all sorts of desires that pass through a man's heart, all sorts of thoughts go through his mind, of a man. And he must sort everything out and, first of all, connect them to one source—that they come from the Creator. This is the first action because in this action, that he ties it to the Creator, even that he doesn't truly feel it. But in this action, already, he promises himself that, usually, he will solve the problem in a correct manner because he's already directed to the Creator and directed through the group. Then, as much as he will try, after this, to scrutinize the problem itself, accordingly, he will determine his place in the group and in the Creator. If not truly in revelation, then at least in progress towards revelation.

Question (W Petah Tikva): (33:56) From day by day, I reveal how much my desire is small and weak and even in lowly things I can be repelled from the work. Do I have a chance to enter the king's palace?

M. Laitman: First of all, each of us has a chance—not just a chance—in each and every created being, there is a place in the king's palace, there's a room for each and every one of us. And even if you want to run from it, you won't be able to, but as much as you don't want, it will be another blow, and they will want. That's why, we have no choice, we must advance and discover it as soon as possible, our place in the King's palace. Only as a Ten we're allowed to enter the king's palace, it's not that it needs to be Ten, but the group, not alone; alone, it's prohibited to enter. The King's palace is already called, Atzilut, also before that in Beria, it already starts to be the matter. But mostly it's in Atzilut, that's it.

Now that women usually have two things, on one hand, they have a certain persistence, nevertheless, because a woman naturally is capable of tolerating more, much more than a man. And therefore, she's more stable on the path, on one hand; on the other hand, nevertheless, as it's written, women's reason is light, since they don't want to deepen in the essence of the connection between creatures, and then from the creatures to the Creator. But rather, let it be with a certain light way of looking at things. I understand these things, and for the time being we need to advance as much as we can. But we need, nevertheless, to feel, to understand that we all belong to one system.

Question (Woman MAK 25): (36:35) Is it up to us to see every disturbance as a unique worry from the Creator towards us? And how can we help one another to relate to the mighty hand of the Creator on us?

M. Laitman: We don't reach the mighty hand yet, so that's why I don't want to talk about it. When we get there, then you'll see what it is, but we need, the main thing is to connect between us. The main thing is to connect between us and from between us to the Creator; but what does it mean between us to the Creator? Why is there this condition from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator? Because in the connection between us we reveal that condition, that place where we can locate Him. Those conditions where the Creator is revealed, if we won't have several people that are willing to give up something for each other, that are willing to connect to one another upon all the disturbances, after all, the main thing is adhesion to the Creator. And what's taken into account is the place for the revelation of the Creator, the center of our connection where we expect Him to be revealed, and He's revealed. If we work on that place, on the center of the Ten, then He is revealed. That is, our work needs to be on that: How to connect between us and to create a place for the revelation of the Creator. And then, towards that place, we need to try to constantly be, despite the rejection that we will feel, with the mighty arm and the poured fury, He shall reign over us. Meaning, if you want to discover that the Creator is the King and that He is the one who is in control, then it's in such a way where He rejects and rejects us to the point where you want. When you want, you can enter into Dvekut.

Question (W Petah Tikva): (39:01) How must a person put up with corporeal disturbances the Creator gives them?

M. Laitman: A person needs to solve them with necessity when it comes to corporeal matters. We have no choice, we're living in this world as well, but it's not that he can differentiate between corporeal problems and spiritual problems. They all come from the same source, and therefore, we need to try both this and that to solve.

Question (Zichron 2): (40:13) I want to ask about the fury; I understand it's a high degree for us at the moment, but if we can ask about this, please?

M. Laitman: All those things are revealed in the connection between a person and the society, it's not that the Creator rejects a person. The Creator rejects him from the environment, from the model, from that mold that a person must be in in order to reveal the Creator. If you're just alone, yearning, that's not enough, just understand that here along the way, there's a system, and you must incorporate in this system in order to be connected to the Creator. Just like now we are connecting through a certain system, which we call it no matter what, and through it you're being related to. That's how it is in nature and it comes to us from above that way, from the structure of Adam HaRishon. That's why we're not talking about one person but rather about the essence of his connection in the society. And only by this, a person is judged, as Rabash writes there, and we need to see ourselves that way.

Student: Well, that's clear, I'm not asking about myself but rather what's in the article. I'm trying to understand regarding the fury, right? It seems like anger, why does a person feel that the Creator is angry at him? What's the anger about?

M. Laitman: The person is angry at the Creator; the Creator is angry at the person. It's all relative to a person, that's how he feels due to his lack of understanding of the upper providence.

Question (Baltia 1): (42:20) In the beginning of the article, it's written that there is no coercion in spirituality. And afterwards it's written that the Creator operates with a mighty hand and then the fury poured out. How to understand?

M. Laitman: No, till the person says, I want, he's not brought closer, he's not drawn closer, he's not done anything with. But for him to want, there's all kinds of drills, here, because through that, he's only in the will to receive, and therefore he can be operated upon through the will to receive only. It's not considered that a person is left, no on the contrary. If he's only in the will to receive, then through the will to receive, the Creator manages him, influences him, bestows upon him. It's not that a person isn't cared for,  he is cared for in a great way.

Question (USA SF): (43:30) If we find ourselves in a state of confusion from the great corporeal desires the Creator has given us, how can we best integrate in the Ten to use this state for everyone's advancement?

M. Laitman: We need to search for the Ten, Rabash writes about this: To incorporate in it, to examine oneself there, and close your eyes and truly jump all the way to the end. To completely nullify oneself, to try to nullify oneself completely, and to see whether one's capable or not. If you're not, then check why I'm capable, why not, and so on. But all of our preparation towards the revelation of the Creator, towards contact with the Creator, is by us entering the Ten and simply disappearing there, dissolving there.

Question (Nikolaev-Sochi): (44:59) Continuing the scrutiny regarding the fury of the Creator, that some extreme measure of sensation, is it correct to say that the fury of the Creator is revelation of the hate between the friends and the Ten?

M. Laitman: That you will reveal on your own, I don't want to explain that to you, it doesn't belong. If we come to such things, then you will see what it is.
