Morning Lesson May 22, Transcription
1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes of course our work is first of all to justify the Creator, because every moment when we come to correct new discernment that awaken in us then we find that these discernments that belong to the breaking for example to feel that we are in one heart, but we are not in one heart. We feel ourselves in all kinds of states of remoteness and we have to imagine each day that we are united into a single vessel, because accordingly we can discover the Creator, so we need to try to make efforts like little children who wants to connect some bricks together like Lego bricks together likewise in our efforts we want to connect our hearts. Our hearts meaning is disposed tendency to united between us and with the Creator and the more efforts we make the more we feel that we are not in it but also that perhaps we are moving a bit closer to it until we start to feel that the Creator is working together with us like we see with children when they try to connect the something build something in their games. But at the end we also help them too, kind of from the side so likewise we start to feel that the Creator occasionally helps us, moves us a bit closer to each other. To that extent we become closer to each other, to that extent we begin to locate the concept of Creator, who he is, what he is, what is this force as we can attain this only through the connection between us.
Because the Creator is Bo-reh; come and see, come when we come to connection and then we see the result of the connection and this is the only way to attain the upper force and it operates in us. So out of all kinds of forms of connection between us this upper force operates in us receded he operates in as in different forms of connections and we begin to see the spiritual Partzufim, worlds, ascents and descents and everything is then measured according to how close or far we are, like in breathing, revealing the work of the Creator on us so that he is moving closer or moving away as in breathing. As Baal HaSulam describes it in many places there are complete articles about this so here the need to understand the things and mainly justify the Creator especially to justify him in states where we feel like moving away, that we don't belong we are feeling pushed away, that we are don't belong, we are not interested in anything. We are like hanging in midair and it is only in order to discover what is the Reshimo, the memory record before the correction after the breakage when the person feels completely separate from everybody, not belonging to the system.
Then gradually through various operations which the person does, the society does and the reforming light influences the person so the person can feel himself more and more connected to the others and to the Creator. Sometimes feels himself connected to the friends sometimes more connected to the Creator. Until he comes to the state when he feels that the connection to the friends, it is also like an instrument, a vessel for connection with the Creator and this way we come to Israel the Torah and the Creator are one. Israel is the person who yearns to be straight to the Creator, Torah is the upper light operating on him, connecting to the broken vessels to a certain extent and the Creator is the common force that has been revealed gradually in the connection between them and to which the person feels belonging more and more. The person feels this belonging more and more and this way he develops more and more feeling and belonging to the Creator until he begins to work “I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me” in a mutual way together with the Creator.
This is what we try to establish between us, to discover. I think we are on the way to this. I hear from many of my students who say this and write this, and I am very happy about this, that we are approaching this in practice. Until such states become for us our state. It will happen enough that we can discover them in a more general way so that there will be a big part of a broken vessel which is already in some disposition, in some connection, some tendency or disposition to be connected to each other in order to reveal the Creator in the connection between us. This way we will begin to discover the Torah, the reforming light, the Creator who hides in the Torah and through this we discover him, the upper force, that intellect, that feeling of common intellect or feeling which is truly the Creator because we make him Boreh, come and see. The Creator is revealed to us according to our efforts to connect. As it is written you have made me, it is we who built this concept the Creator Boreh, come and see. In this way we can achieve the right connection, there in the connection between us we discover our higher root and this way we advance to corrections.
We are on the way to this, and I think that we are in the final stages before the revelation so we should continue with our efforts. The most important in this effort is to pay attention to justifying the Creator in everything, in any situation. Even if we feel good or bad. In the good feeling it is also a problem. Can I justify him because I feel good? I have to try to do all kinds of exercises to check and see that I am not biased because of the good feeling. That I feel that I am not loving the Creator because he gives me a good feeling, because he benefits me. I am happy because he is good towards me like a little child tied to my feelings. Instead, I want to be tied to the goal to the process. Are the steps I am making the right good steps and am I connected to the goal. Also in negative states, in those, it is easier to find whether I am above my reason in states that I don’t feel so good, and I can still justify the Creator, I still develop love to the friends and to the Creator. I am happy with my progress and I am not demanding to change how I feel but only to strengthen myself in states so that the good states and negative states all become one and I can be above all those states. We will work on this. Why did I say all this? Because the title justifying the Creator might make us ask, why do we need it?
2. S. (11:11) You mentioned the state when someone is hanging in midair, that we realize there is a Creator, but we can't always justify him, how to go through these states?
R. It is written simply “as an ox to the burden and as a donkey to the load”. It may take quite a few years. I am speaking from my own experience until the person comes to a state where he begins to discover his relationship to the Creator openly. The person has to come to this state where this relationship does not influence him personally for better or worse. Instead, the person will know how to attribute all the states to the common Kli, to the common process to humanity to the end of correction. This is why he was created out of all the created beings so he could be a leader, a pioneer to lead others to correction. This is how each of us have to sync and even if we do not have revelations and feelings accordingly, we should imagine as if we already had it. Like a little child imagining that he is a grown-up, and he is building something, or he plays being a driver of a car or a truck so we should act as if we were grownups and not lowering ourselves that I have done nothing, I don't have this, I don't have that there is no point to my efforts, no! We have to install the picture ourselves as operating, influencing the whole reality, the whole of mankind. If I don't see myself correctly, if I want to grow, I have to always picture myself that I am on a higher level then where I am really right now. This way I can grow it is part of raising the deficiency raising of Bina, what am I elevating. I am elevating my craving to be in spirituality, that's why I am praying this is how I should arrange more so how I should organize myself. It does not matter that it is not true, I know it is not true, but I do it in order to grow up. We should not forget about it because this is very important. It is part of raising MAN and I want to be great; I want to be this and that. This is a part of our prayer.
S. (14:46) You describe this ability as something we can develop?
R. Of course children do this naturally and we can do it above nature. What do Sages write to us, we have to be closer to each other, we have to love each other, we have to think about the Creator how to approach him, all those things the Sages tell as if we were babies, do these things as if you were grownups. It does not matter if you can't do that in practice, yet that you do not have the power, the understanding the feeling of spirituality then of course you don't have it, yet we give this imagination to the child that he is like a driver of a car or some constructor, builder of something, he is given this imagination for development. We are given in order to develop a prayer to receive the power from the Creator and then to do with this is the place of our prayer.
S. (15:57) This ability we need to develop, is it necessary this period of time, is it necessary when we continue the work without flavors, is it necessary to attain spirituality?
R. We have to see ourselves on a higher-level, we have to try, and we have to ask the Creator to play this exercise on us to elevate us to a higher-level. We need to be together. We pretend to be together do we need to act as if we understand what spirituality is? So, let's pretend as if we understand what spiritual is. It is all this make-believe effort, there is already prayer, there already is raising a request. When I am in my current state, picture myself as great and then I ask myself what it means to be great, what does it mean to work with the upper light, what does it mean to raise my deficiency, to be at a higher level. In this way we connect with the Creator from our part because we are in him with this and then we wake him up, we stimulate him, we provoke him to help us to do something with our deficiency. Although our deficiencies are not real, it is not correct like children, exactly like children, this is how we always grow, this is the connection between the lower degree and the upper degree. In raising MAN, we are not required to understand exactly what we need to ask, exactly what we should ask. Just as with children you see what they are asking about. They're asking for the most foolish things, but we still take care of them, learn from this example.
3. S. (18:07) Many times I hear from my friend's the questions that sometimes there is a pleasant feeling, but we don't want to receive it for ourselves, but you said it is not correct, we need to receive it even in such a place we should justify the Creator and see if we are right, or not so can you give example of such an exercise?
R. Very simple, let's say we want to connect among us, and we make efforts all of us together and all of us together along with making efforts to return to the Creator. We note that these efforts are still not complete, and we want the Creator to complete them. It is called the Creator will finish for me, that we always when we work in spirituality, always add. We call the totality of the whole, one, as the Creator adds to each, so in every state which we want to happen we have to make efforts and ask the Creator to correct and complete the efforts, tying them together. 4. S. (20:11) What is the action of justification?
R. The act of justification is when I try in each and every state first of all to relate to the Creator and as a state where I go through as a necessary state for my benefit on the condition that in that state I connect to the Creator as well. I do not say, I do not demand in any state for more than not to be disconnected from the Creator.
S. (21:00) Here we attribute everything to the Creator, this is the point that comes from him?
R. Yes this is the main thing not to disconnect from the Creator and then to strengthen this connection between everybody more and more in the group in order to have a stronger grip on the Creator.
5. S. (21:24) It is difficult to justify the Creator because of what we see in the world how can we reverse this?
R. This is our work, this is our work every day and the more we progress and the more we have some feeling and relation to spirituality to the Creator, the spiritual force is the Creator. The closer we come to him the harder it will be to connect in order to hold on to him, to hold onto the connection between us and him. We will have more and more grievances that will be such a state when we want to condemn the Creator who accused him, this is why what we learn is called justifying the Creator, we are preparing ourselves to such a state. What does it mean to be a righteous, the righteous is a degree of the Bina in all the states we go through we are in them only in bestowal. Regardless of what I go through, I justify the Creator over every single situation I experience and I ask the Creator to be in bestowal, to be in the light of Hassadim, the light of mercy, to be in a state where as whatever happens I can’t and want to disconnect from him, I remain in the state that it comes from him anything and I will justify that the states that are coming they only come to correct me and my connection with the entire broken vessel and specifically in this way I discover this force which connect us which is called the Creator come and see.
6. S. (23:49) These states that are revealed to us we try to elevate above them through the unity between us, is this the unity we aspire to?
R. The degree of Bina is a very high degree. It is above all of Malchut, it is truly the actual level of another. It is called the righteous who is an incomplete righteous when we can justify the Creator's actions with all the vessels of bestowal. Later there is even a higher degree which is called the complete righteous where we can justify the Creator in all of our desires and states.
S. (25:09) This is exactly what I wanted to ask about it, when we want to rise together in connection with the friends to be above everything that happens, it is one thing, but we don't have this feeling that we justify the Creator because if he gets back to that stage where we were before, we cannot justify him then.
R. We don't need to return to any stage, we constantly have to rise and rise and rise in the connection between us and then from the connection between us to connect to the Creator. We will not fold because he wants the quality of connection and giving to be revealed between us concessions, justifying, appreciating this as much as possible. R. Ideally, we should try to connect to the Creator and justify him out of the connection between us. In the meantime, it can be as an exercise to justify him through our efforts, this is also good although it is not a spiritual form but still it is good as an exercise.
7. S. (28:14) The question is: requesting because I want to be great in spirituality is it really for me?
R. The request for prayer is a prayer to the Creator. This may begin with each person crying about what he thinks that is good for him, that he needs what he is drawn too but these cries are all so that each is crying like newborn babies that they cry and they don't even feel others where they are they just simply cry this is how nature wakes as up so for the time being it is good but in the end the more we progress and we talked about the goal on the ten being in the connection between us and there's a personal outcry should become more of a group outcry a group prayer because we begin to feel the real goal and re-strengthen and discover more and more but it is only according to the power of our connection. Then our prayer becomes truly MAN from me towards the ten sefirot of the Nukva, female who feels herself separate, but wants to be connected. If during the lesson, regardless of what we study, it has nothing to do with the topic of the lesson, that we are in states where our hearts grow closer and closer to each other and they become ready to be a support for the revelation of the Creator.
S. (31:33) How should I formulate a new request so instead of a request for myself it is a request for the entire ten. How can I formulate this request so that all of us will be in spirituality?
R. You have to, alone to feel the friends and to be together with them. Ask that you want to enter their feelings and together with this common feeling rise to the Creator. Then you will be with this worthy of revealing the Creator so you'll have to ask that you will merit, to connect to the Creator you will merit.
8. S. (32:31) If we need to advance above reason why do we have to justify the Creator? What is this justification, is it within reason or above reason?
R. This is a very serious question. We need to search for justification of the Creator within reason. After we find some connection to this, when I exert to justify the Creator in both good and negative states, that are seemingly bad because there are ‘these and those’ according to my feeling. Then I want to come to a state where I justify the Creator. I bless Him, as it says, I bless Him for the bad as for the good. When I try not to check, to be immersed in my feelings, but to be above my feelings. So, for me the goal and the connection, the tendency, direction towards the Creator is more important than what I feel. So that even the worst things I might feel, I will be able to be above them and connected to the Creator. Just like Rabash would say, he points to himself and says, “let it suffer” about his own body, he didn't do it in front of everybody but when we were together in different states this is what he told me, “let It suffer”. It is not simple, and it is not like we can picture it correctly yet, but I was then in the state you are in today, so this is why I am allowing myself to reiterate those exercises, those examples for you.
9. S. (35:08) Can I reach spirituality through different efforts or only through prayer?
R. You can achieve spirituality only through prayer because even the efforts you make are also a prayer. The connection between the lower and the upper comes from the lower one raising MAN and then the upper one, according to what the lower asks, according to the circumstances where the lower one is, where he should be, it brings down on him the response which we call MAD. MAN and MAD is all we have but, in this MAN, and MAD there are many lights and vessels and Reshimot, the records. It is a whole complex of data, of information. This is how the connection between the lower degree and upper degree is built. And in our world, too, it works in the same except we are not aware of it, what Reshimot we elevate, what we do, how we operate, what operates us. But precisely the same operations exist also in our states between all the people. All the people are nonetheless connected to the Creator. The Creator accompanies them, manages them, teaches them except that they don't feel connected to Him and they don't want to reveal this connection with Him. But these are all the same laws. All of creation from 0 to 100% of all the degrees of creation are only MAN and MAD.
10. S. (37:27) How can we do a check together in the lesson that our hearts are becoming closer and they’re becoming ready to be a support for the revelation of the Creator?
R. During the lesson make a constant effort to connect the hearts and direct them together and from the place of connection between them, turn to the Creator and then listen to the lesson, just like that. This is more important than the topic of the lesson, from all the wise words you will hear. The most important is the effort in the hearts and to connect them to the Creator, first of all. Try to connect everybody to this. What does it mean, everybody? I want that just as I want connection between us and to the Creator, I also want all my friends in the groups and in all the groups of ours to all feel this way too and be in this tendency. It is a very instrumental, very effective, this is a real prayer.
11. S. (38:53) It is as though you are legitimizing that you will stay in the same state, even get back to it. We don't get too excited because there is none else besides Him, so how to justify the Creator and yet ask to change the situation?
R. If I justify the Creator from any feeling then I no longer see it as a bad feeling. I see this as a condition that awakens me to connect to the Creator, and by this, I turn the darkness into light, and by this I ‘m advancing. I no longer ask the situation to change, but I ask the Creator only for more connection in order to please Him. I am going to complete this state so that even I did not feel so good, I scrutinized my states, my state with the friends, I try to feel what it means to be in a more updated state, I turn to the Creator to connect us more, and to be revealed more and more in us, in a state which is constantly improving. By this, together we want to bring Him contentment through the friends. His contentment is to be revealed in the lower ones, He’s got nothing else to expect from us. This is how it works.
12. S. (40:47) Considering the prayer, raising MAN in the 10, that the Creator will listen, accept, and respond to it?
R. We have to be “Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one.” This is very simple. You’re asking what the prayer is? The prayer is to be Israel, meaning ‘we’; the Torah, with the light that connects us together; and the Creator, who fills us in the vessel which is already connected through the Torah. The Torah is the means. We have broken desires. We want to connect among us through the Torah where the light, this upper light will correct us in the correct connections between us. Then our connections will achieve such connections where the Creator can be revealed so that our vessel becomes similar to the light, let’s say to the first degree of the light. Then the Creator is revealed within the created beings.
S. Torah and the Creator -- this is not a state, a prayer, or is it?
R. This is what we want to achieve. Therefore, our inclination, disposition to this state is called a prayer.
13. S. (42:16) Placing myself above the ego, is it the same as rising above the desire, above my reason, and can it be a door, as an entrance from corporeality to spirituality?
R. You need to check yourself in what connection with the friends in the 10 you are in. This is what you were given so connect with the friends and then you can discover that you are in a spiritual vessel, you are in the soul because each one to the extent that he has this disposition to connect to others, by this he starts to discover his soul. The soul is the vessel which is made of 10 people. Each of them in every situation begins to function like Keter, Hochma, Bina, Daat, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, Malchut. All in all, each one and each one together starts to feel the Keter, the Malchut, all kinds of Sephirot, all kinds of states, 10 x 10, and this is what we start to feel to the extent that we feel ourselves being in this kind of connection, this kind of mixture between us. By this, we start to feel one force that does this with us, that glues us this way in our desires in our egoistic desires, and even though they are egoistic, and they have a natural rejection from each other. Still, we begin to feel that there is a force that also glues us and in the gap between those states of remoteness where the Creator created the evil inclination and the connection where He now creates the good inclination according to our request. In the gap between the two we discover Him. This is called “the King who puts to death, brings to life and brings forth salvation. (He) puts to death, we discover that the evil is also coming from Him and brings to life, He reconnects us. Out of this, He reveals Himself, a soul. This is how we begin to discover.
14. S. (45:52) What you described is that in our connection we, on one hand, discover the one force of connection, and on the other hand, we divide it into Sephirot, how does this work?
R. This is what is given to us as a result of the shattering of the vessel, this is the Creator's invention. That from the single desire He created because He himself is one, one, unique and unified. So how did He make it so that this single desire that exists opposite to Him and they are equal in their essence, the desire, and the light, how is this desire now split into thousands upon thousands of different desires. How did He make it so, this is the wonder in creation. And where does He do it? He does it specifically out of His unity, His Oneness. So that we through the connection, later on through all of these broken parts, can discover Him as one. Do you understand what He had prepared for us? Those different desires exist in each and everybody, out of the incorporation between all of them, each and every one has their own small desire -- this is the point in the heart, the godly part from above in everybody -- and besides this there is also the incorporation of all the other desires with everyone. And when we begin to work, we begin more and more to connect and connect and connect all these connections between us, so according to the power of connection, the magnitude of the connection, we discover the Creator. We can discover only a 10 then we can discover that each and everybody is a different element in this 10, also comprises, incorporates another 10 and another 10 until we reach a state where the person reaches a state where he feels that he carries in him the vessel of the whole reality, and the entire Creator is revealed inside of him, and besides him there is nobody else. This is how we, all of us, out of our internal point can discover this. Along with the fact that we use everyone in order to put together this vessel inside of us. We will talk about this.
15. S. (49:07) What is it in the act of attributing everything to ‘none else besides Him’, and ‘He is good and does good’, that builds the vessel of bestowal, a vessel for love of others, what is the connection?
R. I begin more and more to, first of all, wash my brain with this knowledge, that we all extend fro
a single vessel, we’re all broken. We are all split into the 70 nations of the world, we all need to reach once again the connection between us, to be ‘one man in one heart’ so that we all elevate ourselves to our spiritual root, in practice, truly. While we’re still here in this world, which is the lowest point in the whole of reality his is how I need to see myself and my work, and humanity, now, is starting to see itself in this, as much as they are capable, of course. But let's hope that with the help of our dissemination, it will depict itself as being in this process each and every day, more and more.
S. When you try to put together all the shattering, all the pieces connecting into a single root, it's clear. I ask from the other side: if I try to justify the Creator and attribute everything to Him, as you said a few lessons ago, every moment, when you walk, brush your teeth, everything is none else besides Him. What in this action builds in me a vessel for love of others?
R. I need to understand who I am dealing with. When I brush my teeth for example, I mention this because these are the first actions a person does in the morning, so already one should start thinking how does he arrange himself? It’s very simple. You do something else in the morning, I do not know what it is, you go to the shower, it does not matter, the Creator does not take into consideration the state of your beast, He takes into consideration the state of your soul. This is what I am talking about now, and you take it into consideration.
S. I’m still trying to understand, let's say I have a bad feeling now and I say OK, it is coming from the Creator, I try to justify Him and agree with Him?
R. No that is for sure, but rather through this bad feeling it is now possible for me to reach a connection with the Creator.
S. What is this action that helps me to build a vessel for love of others?
R. I have to rise above my vessel which has a bad feeling and I try to connect with the Creator, personally, because I am broken. When I begin to connect, and I am talking for the time being on the level that is suitable for you. Then I begin to justify the Creator, individually, now I accept whatever comes to me in order to rise in my degree to correct myself. This is why I am getting some bad feelings and it stems from the fact that in me a new Reshimo, a new record, appears. Now I am grateful to the Creator who revealed this record for me, this is a new vessel in which I can take another degree toward Him. How do I do it towards Him? He reveals to me a new shattering within me, He opened it up for me, this feeling of a new shattering within me. So, now, I need to connect with my 10 and through the 10 I can connect to Him and ask Him that He will help me to correct this broken Kli that has now been revealed. That is, it. ’Israel, the Torah, and the Creator is one’. I am already in this process and then I keep on adding. It is very important to do it from the morning, as it says, “as you lay down and as you get up”. This is how we should do it.
16. S. (54:06) This is a little confusing when we say the Creator does not exist, but He governs us. Is believing in the Creator the same as revealing, attaining Him?
R. The Creator is the force of connection between us first and foremost. We see ourselves as separated, far from each other truly, and I am asking the Creator to connect between us and out of the connection between, I will be able to discover the Creator, I will be able to feel Him. I will feel the connection between us and inside this connection between us I feel the form of the manner connection, the power and the intensity of this connection, the flavor of the connection, the color of the connection, it will all be already the Creator. What we discover out of the broken connection that appears, and we restore, recover, this is what it's called BoReh, come and see. Where does it come from, from nothing from the absence until he is revealed? This is how we need to perform such actions towards His revelation and truly demand from the connection between us. Try it. This is called the field blessed by the Lord. We cannot escape this. In the beginning the person does not understand what it is about, but we should try more and more to feel that the connections between us, this is already a spiritual connection, this is already a spiritual field, the spiritual force-field which is the force-field of bestowal, and in this field we work until the final correction, until the Creator is revealed according to the intensity of this force-field, the connection between us, because this is the vessel and He is revealed there as the fulfillment. This is what it means “you have made me”, in the connection between us we discover the upper force which is one for everybody.
17. S. (57:06) Can we then say that the Creator is the name of the presentation of the attainment question?
R. Yes, the Creator is the attainment and accordingly it has many names according to the conditions in which we attain him. This is why the Creator is called BoReh, come and see, according to our vessels we discover Him, the different manners of his revelation. As for himself we do not discover Him but only according to the vessels.
18. S. (58:05) How to justify the Creator in all desires even the obscenest desires? Should we relate to it as a game on the part of the Creator?
R. Of course it is a game. The entire process that we go through is like a baby growing up and he develops through playing. Even the little animals, they also play. Otherwise, when the baby grows up, playing is the most serious thing that is in our reality because it elevates every element in creation through the next degree. When we are playing in something that is greater this is why in the group we need to play as though we are connected, as though we are great, as though we are bestowing and connected to each other, as though in the connection between us we are ready to discover the Creator and we are asking Him for that. This is the matter of playing, raising the prayer, this is the game. To begin with it is considered that the Creator is playing with Creation, with the whale there is a lot written in the Zohar about it.
S. How can the group ask us with our personal efforts to justify the Creator in any situation?
R. We don't have a personal situation, this is a grave mistake that we exist in we are in that state as if we have something that is personal, all of the feelings that we go through is a result of the state of our Kli whatever our Kli is going through in this specific individual forms and some specific more details all out of the upper light of the general vessel of Adam HaRishon after the shattering you will find nothing personal there. It is all simply how the light scatters through all the broken Vessels.
S. How do we turn the darkness into light in the spiritual work?
R. R. That I want to remain concealed otherwise it will be a bonus or like I am being bribed, and so I would be working in order to get something and I don't want to be like that. I want to be like Him, He gives everything to creation, and I will give everything to Creation. By this I reach identification and reach true adhesion with him.
S. How can I bring the friends to him?
R. Just work as though all of your actions are in order to cause others to have the connection with the Creator. This is your work and what will you get out of it, you don't care. You want to give him contentment to the Creator, bring everyone to him this is how you need to work in the 10. That you only care for the friends that you will reach a connection between them and to the Creator, but you are holding those connections, you are causing them.

R. The righteous wants to be a servant of the creator so that everything that the Creator wants will come true.
