Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. Introduction to The Book of Zohar. #15

Reading Item #14 (00:42) “Thus you necessarily find that on the whole, there are three states to the soul..”

Reading item number 15 (04:27)

1. R. (08:24) What is he trying to tell us? That the entire system the Creator created it is whole complete. Each part necessitates the existence of the other in the beginning in the middle and the end that they would exist and all would sustain and support one another.

2. S. (08:53) About the third state it's written that no correction would come to the bodies only to the souls themselves. Can you explain that?

R. The will to receive itself in order to receive which is the body there will be no correction for the time being but only to the desire to bestow. And then it's not the end of corrections and later there will be corrections for that as well.

S. What are corrections for the desire to bestow?

R. The intention in order to bestow.

S. How does the correction kind of combine here relative to the body and to the soul?

R. I didn't understand. Relative to the body? The body is the will to receive.

S. Yes.

R. So the will to receive has to acquire the intention to bestow..

S. And by the body receiving the intention in order to bestow there's no correction to the body?

R. This is the correction to the body.

S. So what does it mean that in the second state the body is not corrected but…

R. But it's not an order to bestow completely.

3. S. (10:38) [No translation]

R. No, don't get confused, we’ll go according to what the Zohar tells us. Scrutinize it at home comfortably and then we will discuss it further.

4. S. (11:12) Is it talking about whatever is different in the excerpt that we just read. There's an impression that everything that opens there's already the three states in advance in order to come to understanding and through self request correction?

R. I didn't understand the question.

S. It speaks about in every state there's already all the states from the corrupted to the corrected, so that in the whole process a person, a created being, will ask for the correction from self understanding already where he feels the whole state already?

R. Yes.

5. S. (12:06) What we just read right now, he says that if the third state would not be revealed, which is the oppositeness of the reception to bestowal, then certainly the first state could not emerge, it’s meaning everything depends on the third state and the third state he says it’s the revival of the dead so what is the revival of the dead all together?

R. That it says, the end of the action is in the initial thought.

S. What does that mean?

R. This plan that everything will be corrected in order to bestow exists from the outset, the beginning of the plan.

S. What is this thing revival of the dead? What is it, desires of the dead?

R. When all those desires that came out of in order to receive and will also be corrected to in order to bestow.

S. Meaning of I made many transgressions in my life it turns out that all the things that I created it's like it's covered by the revival of the dead, when I had a transgression that was all that?

R. Yes.

S. Only bestowal?

R. Yes.

S. So everything gets with more abundance

R. He who is greater than his friend his inclination is greater.

S. What I have to be sorry I wasn’t transgressing?

R. No, you have to correct what you have to correct.

S. If I did transgressions it’s all covered and fixed?

R. It will come to the upper judgment and you can ask there.

S. If I wasn't a good boy?

R. I don't know, I don’t know. It's good if you remain with your question marks.

6. S. (14:15) If so our corporeal desires we don't touch them? Our work is only in the spiritual world to correct our intention?

R. Our work in intentions it’s called the spiritual world and also the actions we can add to it from our world.

7. S. (14:54) The whole process that's being described here is this the whole correction or is it only the 6,000?

R. For the time being it's the 6000?

S. This means that coming to the third state is after 6,000, that's after the end of correction?

R. No, there's a seventh millennium eighth, ninth, and tenth.

S. Meaning it's all together?

R. Yes.

8.S. (15:20) How do these three states help a person who's on the path?

R. What do you mean? To the extent that he corrects them he advances.

S. Meaning what helps him for example if the fact that he has the first state the third state? The second state’s understood he’s in that state and he feels it, a certain state. Three and one, what can he use them while he's in the second state?

R. I don't quite get what you're asking. All these states are interlinked.

S. The fact that they're connected it's in potential it’s not that he feels this in some practice. He only feels now his the state that he's in, what he feels above it. So how does it help him now or how can he use it that he knows that he read from Bal HaSulam that there's also the third state and the whole state and he's already in that state.

R. What do we get out of the fact that it exists?

S. That's what I'm asking.

R. Well we don’t exist in it.

S. So I'm asking if we can practically use this knowledge.

R. No, because you can’t use it, you lack the vessels for it. You have screens that you know how to use it in the third state if you're not in that state

S. So it doesn't help me to know?

R. No, it only helps you to know that creation is whole complete and you should relate to it as a complete thing.

S. How can I relate to it as a whole thing if I'm in a broken state?

R. It should help you with faith towards the Creator,

S. So what is that state? How can I use faith in the Creator where I read that there is a third state.

R. That everything is in His hands and there's none else besides Him and the good that good does is in every instance it exists 100%, but you still don't attain it but your intention is to reach it.

S. And this knowledge, how does this become a practical tool for feeling?

R. Through prayer.

S. Meaning what?

R. Through prayer when you ask to have faith in the Creator and for you to be able to carry out acts of bestowal towards Him and in any instance.

S. And that's because the third state exists?

R. Yes.

S. If these three states create the state of perfection then in the end of correction the wholeness, the whole state, meaning the first state and the second state seemingly get canceled?

R. There's no such thing for something to be canceled or not existent everything always exists.

S. But they're supposed to be corrected eventually.

R. So there's a corrupt state and a corrected state. The corrupted state sustains the state of corrected and the state of corrected also has to exist in nature, so the corrupted state will reach its end state.

S.That’s during the time of correction?

R. There's no time of correction, there’s no such thing time of correction, there simply everything exists..

S. So what's the difference between now and the end of correction?

R. Everything is relative to the person who that attains it.

Reading Item number 16 (19:45)  Therefore, one might wonder if perhaps choice…

9. S. (23:14) You earlier recommended a friend to go and ask in a higher court. What is the supreme higher court and how do we get there?

R. I told it to him half-jokingly, how can you reach the upper court? Only the righteous can rise and ascend there. We are already doing great corrections.

10. S. (24:03) The third state, is it already ready for us?

R. Yes, we're already in the third state but because of our corruption we are unable to feel it and we feel according to the states. Our current state for the time being.

S. I heard at different times from you that even if we don't do anything we will come to the same state?

R. Circumstances will obligate us. How did you get here? You yourself sat down and thought about it and chose where to go and what to do with your life.. No, you were confused and then you were brought here.

S. But it's written if you do not observe the Torah and Mitzvot then I will bring you a king like Haman.

R. How does Haman divert your opinion? He pushes you forward with punishments. Punishments always help it depends but correct punishments from above help.

11. S. (25:40) From the first date to the third state, it's like two points that we have to come from A to B. Here the path is free will on the path from A to B, so the free choice is just partially and not everything is also called free will?

R. Free choice exists relative to certain states, if they give it to a person he has it, if they don't, he does not.

S. Is it also considered that he's free at that point where he's given?

R. Yes.

S. Is it only relative to a person? There are no questions or unclear things?

R. No, from the perspective of the Creator there is nothing to expect of humans.

S. The difference between the path of suffering in the path of Torah is only for us to have a better feeling on the way to the third state?

R. I cannot say this,, I can't tell you this because then you will ask how does the Creator feel when I choose the first day or the second state or the third stay and which path to go on? These are things that we cannot answer because we are only in one plane.

12. S. (27:12) How does a person identify that he's in the second state?

R. What is the second state, the path of suffering.

S. The state that he talks about before, not the path of the work or observing the Torah and Mitzvot. The stage before that where I have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, How do I come to the second? How does he identify that he's in the right place of the work before he has the place of choice and suffering or Torah and Mitzvot?

R. He doesn't know, he doesn't have the vessels in which he can scrutinize and know for sure that he is on a path on the correct path. I'm in Bnei Baruch, so what, is this correct, is it certain, is it good, is there better or worse? I don't know.

S. A person has a choice and he's in Bnei Baruch and that's the path of truth, but I feel and that there's someplace from Baal HaSulam, that there's some desire to receive, some specific point that he is talking about and it's not me and this protein body that's enjoying something tasty that he has, but it is something above that attitude and there's some perception here that I can choose it, whether I'm on the path of Torah or on the path of suffering or in haste and it's a time, so I'm a regular daily basis that there's some point that we're working on I always feel like I'm missing?

R. I certainly do not understand you. Can you say it simply?

S. I want to know before I choose Torah and Commandments or the path of suffering before I'm in that scrutiny? That I'm in the right field, the great playing field, how do I know that I'm in the right place?

R.You don't know. You can read a book, according to the book you can see where you are in the right place or not but it's the book saying it.

S. The book said here I have to go above reason and the faith to see just like we learned?

R. You don't have the above reason, what are you talking about?

S. There is some reason that I am resisting. I don't know if it's truth or not.

R. it's against but it's not above.

S. Here I need to carry out this choice actually, if I am governing myself.

R. When you came to us, let's say it was a couple years ago, and you fell here? Did you also ask and try to understand if you're in the right place or not and you followed the above reason.

S. No.

R. No, so what are you asking? How did it change from what it was before? You become smarter and wiser.

S. More confused.

R. I understand. That's my goal.

S. You're confusing me and now help me for a moment?

R. You cannot choose because you lack the vessels to choose.

S. What do I need to do now?

R. You need to be a good boy and continue to study and get married.

13. S. (31:20) To continue about all these questions about choice It sounds like from what we just read right now, that there is no chance that a person will come to the path of Torah before he goes through a lot of suffering.

R. The scrutinies have to be there. The question is does he take these scrutinies because this is how it should be on the path, along the way and then he rejoices in the suffering or he doesn't want them at all. Neither them nor their reward.

S. I didn't understand what you meant. I am sorry.

R. Talk about it for a couple minutes.

Workshop: (32:43) Is there a chance to reach the path of Torah before going through the path of suffering?

Reading Item 17. (35:49) “From all the above, we thoroughly understand..”

14. S. (39:07) I wanted to ask you about the previous item, it was written there by the sages, that if you go for the good, then if not I will put a king like Haman upon you. What Haman is we feel very good? I don't know where in this picture is Mordechai? We are living in a world that is just deteriorating, where is Mordechai in all this?

R. I don't know, I guess there isn't, he promises us Haman.

S. And you also say that you're expecting nothing good from this year. How do we come out from this whole story?

R. Don't be afraid but trust in the Creator.

15. S. (40:05) Why did the Creator create such few states why only 3 and not 4?

R. You can propose a few additional states but show how they're necessary.

16. S. (40:40) I want to hear your answer about whether there's a chance to choose the correct path without pain and suffering, without torment. Maybe suffering is something  that I cannot understand so greatly, so for me suffering is pain and I see that there's no chance but please.

R. We are in a state where we can advance from this moment until the end of correction; in a state that is entirely good. I have friends, I can connect to them, if my connection to them is constantly advancing, then I'm advancing on the good path and that's it. There is no other solution, start implementing it with all your might and you will see how quickly you begin to advance towards the purpose of creation.

17. S. (42:08) Do I build the screen or do I receive it?

R. We receive a screen through the light that is working on us: we receive a screen. That is why when we connect, we arrange such states by which the upper light influences us and builds the screen in us.

18. S. (43:04) Not too long ago you gave an example with two students, one good student and one not good student. One understands and one goes to the path of suffering. Is there some connection to the root of the soul that there's these kind of people in those kind of people

R. Yes, the degree of the soul.

S. If so, what is it meant for, this relative to the correction of the souls, these different souls, the bad souls?

R. You have nothing to do about it. You have this root, there are these people that go well and smoothly and there are people who from every step they take is a problem and errors and they constantly suffer. There's nothing you can do about it, this is their correction as part of the general vessel. They have such a part of the vessel and a person cannot do anything with it but in the end if we were to look now not only in the beginning and the middle but also the end then we will discover that everything is just honest and you have no complaints towards the Creator.

S. But the question is what is it meant for, why was he created that way and what will he understand?

R. You should take what the Creator created you with and make of yourself as much a good person as much as possible.

19. S. (45:15) We are a pipeline of light, he didn't just bring us here and open this for us so we need to connect and pass the light to the nations of the world. How will we come to the understanding that really everyone depends on me, that this light will be able to start passing and we don't come here to study but to do the work truly, what is bothering us?

R. I don't know what to say to you. You speak in such a way that you obligate yourself to love. We should simply be closer to one another and to understand that together we are a force that can take this world from the path of suffering to the path of light. We can do it and we will succeed.

20. S. (46:43) According to the text [..]

R. Why should we go on about it? We will not get there.

21. S. (47:15) What's the difference between someone who has come through the path in due time and the path of suffering; path of haste?

R. There's no difference. Every person is responsible for himself and from the moment he is in and onward.

S. In the final point we're all equal actually?

R. In the final point we create a common vessel in which everyone completes the other.

22. S. (47:55) It turns out that people who have more struggles have more opportunities to stop running and being dispersed but to ask the Creator for help. Could this be a certain feeling for them?

R. I think that you and I will reach such a degree that we will be able to look at such souls from above and then discuss them for the time being, be well.

23. S. (48:53) For the big corrections must we go through difficulties even though we are working in the ten and we're putting effort into the work for correction?

R. No, you don't have to. If you put in the effort, the labor you don't need to go through suffering. Good luck to everyone and all the best until our afternoon lesson.
