Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi discuss how to adapt to climate change.
The following is a transcript of the conversation...
Oren Levi: We're in the midst of a climate crisis and animals are changing their shape in order to adapt to this new reality. Researchers found that the beak, the ears and the legs of animals through which their body can process heat are growing because the temperature
in general is rising. So see how smart animals are.
Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman: Yeah, but it's not that they decided to do it, that they're smart.
Nature itself, the general force of nature is doing it.
Oren Levi: Why isn't it doing it to us human beings too? The world's in a catastrophe.
Why doesn't it change anything about us?
Dr. Laitman: First of all, it could be that to some extent we're changing too.
If you compare what goes on in our body to people that lived a thousand years
ago, they're big changes. That's one thing. Another thing is that it says that man's involved in everything.
Oren Levi: What do you mean?
Dr. Laitman: That we're to blame for these negative changes, the climate and nature and the world, and the relations between everyone, therefore everyone will change and will somehow survive better than human beings. Human beings will suffer more than everyone.
Oren Levi: Do you think that, suppose our ears, our brain has to grow? What has to change in order for us to be adapted to a hotter world?
Dr. Laitman: The heart needs to broaden, not physically, but emotionally. To start feeling the entire world as a part of each and every one of us and for us to care for the entire world as we care for ourselves. And until that happens, the world will deteriorate evermore and we human beings will suffer more.
Oren Levi: Until?
Dr. Laitman: There will remain a small number of people on earth that will live in a very primitive way, in a very lowly way.
Oren Levi: That's really frightening.
Dr. Laitman: And they will finally decide that we need to make that change. That it's all up to us, and we need to start this change.
Oren Levi: Previously, I said, look how smart animals are when dealing with heat. You said, it's not them. It's nature that's smart. So why doesn't this smart nature broaden our hearts?
Dr. Laitman: Because we need to decide and ask for it to happen because we're human beings. We're not on the still vegetative or animate levels. We need to digest these changes that are occurring and to intentionally want to change.
Oren Levi: And what kind of change do we need in order to survive in the new world?
Dr. Laitman: A broad heart.
