Part 1:
Rabash. Article No. 6, 1991. What Is, “The Herdsmen of Abram’s Cattle and the Herdsmen of Lot’s Cattle,” in the Work?
Reading Article. (00:36) “It is written, ‘And there was a quarrel between…’”
1. R. (37:56) What's your impression, please? If you have any questions? I see that the article is clear.
2. S. (38:24) Beautiful article. The question is how do we arrange the right correctly since it should seemingly be I’m satisfied little. We read in many articles that even if I have a reward for walking and it's not Lishma, I'm happy with my lot versus how he should be always unsatisfied, you're not free to idle from the work and I will get what I want. On one hand, he should be satisfied and on the other hand, he should demand?
R. Is that clear what he is asking, and the answer is if anyone has it?
3. S. (39:44) You can say that it's two different times, there's a time for this and a time for that. You can also say it's different vessels. In one vessel, he is satisfied with little, and in another vessel, that is not corrected there is a demand.
R. It's at different times, yes.
4. S. (40:17) You can say that you can't reach a complete prayer if he doesn't have a deficiency and if he doesn't have right, he doesn't have wholeness with the Creator. So, he needs both lines to reach a prayer.
R. Yes, correct.
5. S. (40:46) The article reminded me a little bit about the allegory of one who was asking from his friend, and he goes to the treasury every time he goes out they make him drop the box. I wanted to ask what's the difference between remembering each time it's a new degree and he's raising new sparks and when he's condemning the guard that's making him drop the box. What's the value there, it says in the article to remember that he did not rise to the same degree it's not like he didn't do anything up until now, rather it gave him an opportunity to ask for more and extract more sparks. So, what is the matter here with the person the moment it happens now he seemingly doesn't want to curse the Creator he wants to bless him, is that what keeps him, protects him? It's as if Rabash is trying to say something about the work. Man’s work.
R. Meaning if a person fails, yes, then.
S. What's the value of remembering that he's now in a new state he's doing new work?
R. On top of what?
S. On top of a new coarseness?
R. Yes.
S. The Creator is the Good that Does Good, he doesn’t curse him.
R. He gives them new opportunities greater than what he had before.
S. Yes, because I feel many times in the work something that happens you curse everything, and you disconnect completely, and you say oh I'll never make it. I haven't done anything up until now and then you fall into the left line, and you disconnected even more whereas you could have risen again.
R. Yes.
S. What's the correct order when such a thing happens to a person? Does he need to conceal? How does he bless, how can he bless this state?
R. It’s when the Creator gives him another opportunity, each time a greater opportunity.
S. That’s the point he can grip onto and rise up from?
R. Yes, and he's happy about it and he enjoys the fact that each time he receives an opportunity to rise from the Creator.
S. He says that the point in the heart sometimes it sparks, sometimes it’s turned off, it’s like a new order of going up and down.
R. Yes.
S. How can our Ten help each member, each friend to again hold on faster?
R. When I connect to the friends, it's clear.
6. S. (42:16) Each time he raises his sparks of Kedusha. Every time he says you need to believe and remain with the question mark. What does it mean we need to believe?
R. To try to be in faith, to be in feeling, to have the intellect, the mind, to know whatever he is doing now he is making a correction.
S. How much can a person control this, being in this?
R. It doesn't matter, what matters is how much he wants it to happen.
S. This is exactly what he is depicting: there are ascents and descents, and sometimes he wanted it to be and sometimes he can’t describe this state where a person disconnects.
R. Yes.
S. Rabash gives us a view from above. He says don’t look at it specifically the ascents and descents or these states where we raise sparks, they are good states. But on the other hand, we can’t agree with this. We have to justify, first of all, we need to believe, hold on to it, keep this faith, and not lose it.
R. Who is stopping you?
S. My ego?
R. Try to justify that action of the Creator together with the fact that the ego erases it for you.
S. The effort always exists in the Ten, but with that, there are these states. The question is to agree with it, or battle it, or to battle it and say okay I surrendered, I'll start all over again?
R. I don't understand what it means to agree with it.
S. To agree here again. I try I didn't succeed ok we're starting all over again, what to do?
R. I don't understand where you are.
S. What is the question? What is it to agree? To accept the state.
R. You can't hold on to it.
S. Yes, this time I didn't succeed but we'll start all over again.
R. Okay, let's say, what's next?
S. I'm saying there's a certain clash here, a built-in clash in the process. On one hand, we need to believe we need to make all the efforts every attempt to hold onto faith above this. So that both in the ascents and the descents we will understand and remember where it comes from. On the other hand, when we fail, we need to agree with it, that too comes from the Creator.
R. Yes.
S. What do we need to believe? How to sustain the faith so that we won't lose it?
R. You need to believe that anything that I feel and whatever I can draw toward me and anything I may be able to do is all coming from the Creator.
S. That's a state we need to aspire for, to be in that all the time?
R. Yes.
S. We see that we're losing this state and not succeeding then what?
R. You cry, you ask.
7. S. (48:27) To continue this scrutiny he writes here, whereas prior to meriting that all his actions will be for the sake of the heaven there is no place for faith. Meaning that only when one merits Lishma there's room to believe and here we're engaging all the time on the other hand, with our intellect to create faith that the Creator is Good That Does Good and is helping us and is seemingly a certain contradiction in this matter.
R. True, we haven't gotten to it yet, we haven't reached faith yet.
S. What needs to happen to reach faith?
R. To continue, to continue to ask, and to continue to demand.
S. To actually come to that point of agreement to all that is happening?
R. Yes.
S. Even without faith?
R. Even without faith? No, we must have faith.
S. Faith is only in the state of Lishma, we're not in that state yet.
R. By that we will reach Lishma through the demand of faith.
S. Just seems like there's a lot of room for work here.
8. S. (49:58) Rabash writes that in every state we raise new sparks. Are there such states in our lives that do not belong to spiritual work?
R. No.
S. Whatever happens to us throughout the day in our corporeal life?
R. Nevertheless, it's all around that.
S. Every moment a person can raise a spark?
R. Yes.
S. How do we attribute everything to the spiritual work in every moment both corporeal and spiritual?
R. It depends on how a person arranges himself. If he accepts from the get-go that whatever happens to him comes to him from the Creator and There Is None Else Besides Him, and he is The Good That Does Good, a person tries to accept everything that is happening to him in a correct way, which is full of good, for the best. These are the actions that bring him to be cared for and to the goal.
S. What is raising a spark?
R. Raising a spark means a person wants to connect the spark that he’s now receiving from the Creator to the Creator.
S. What is that ascribing or attributing action?
R. From the action itself?
S. What does it mean that he is associating it? Is he gluing to himself or saying it's him?
R. Yes, he returns it to the Creator, he glues himself, his actions, his requests, everything as one to the Creator.
S. All of that in thought? Why does he need the Ten here?
R. In order to organize all these things he will need a Ten.
S. He describes very emotionally how his spark is turned out and does not illuminate and he shouldn't despair. But understands each time he's raising new sparks in ascents and descents, and this happens every moment and renews. If every state that has passed is okay and starting a new state, it kind of releases a person from responsibility to the new moment because, in the end, everything's okay?
R. No, he doesn't need to worry about raising of the sparks.
S. It turns out that in any given moment we're starting a new moment and what was, was. How to not release ourselves from responsibility. How not in advance to say There’s None Else Besides Him?
R. I need to add all my sparks so that I can bring them to the Creator and bring them back to him like the reflected light.
S. I didn't do that. I didn't associate this moment with him.
R. Then you didn't succeed.
S. Then am I supposed to be despaired from not succeeding?
R. You can be despaired but in truth from all your actions you begin to acquire a mind, the feeling that everything is ahead of you.
S. How do I need to relate to moments that have passed when I wasn't connected to Him in the thought?
R. Well if it's gone it's gone. What can you do?
S. And now I continue to act as usual, operate as usual?
R. To operate?
S. I'm simply asking how not to free myself from responsibility and say oh now it's past and feel like everything's okay, so it won't lower the necessity to act every single moment for all those successes.
R. So from this moment on you take it upon yourself to act, to correct the sparks.
9. S. (54:24) I'm trying to understand what the spark is.
R. The spark is the part of the light that has no vessel, and we need to raise it and arrange for it the vessel it needs to enter in order to shine.
S. I'm trying to understand this in the context of our work, a person as we said, a new level of coarseness is revealed in him, a certain distancing from the work, from the Creator’s reveal, and then he performs a certain labor, a certain act of work. And as we said, he raises this spark to Kedusha. Meaning the way, he ascribes it to the Creator and enters it back into Kedusha. What is this condition, the distance, the coarseness, what is this spark?
R. This spark is the same desire with which he wants to adhere to the Creator.
S. I understood. This spark always begins from a place where a person is distant, first of all. This new coarseness is being revealed, and now that this effort to connect again is what makes this coarseness into a spark?
R. Yes, I don't know what you mean.
S. We are talking about raising the sparks now, and there are these things if you look at the description from outside it seems very technical, we take a spark and…?
R. Technical. Let it be technical for the time being.
S. What am I raising up? I understand the process, maybe I'm even in it. I'm trying to understand what it is that I'm raising. What is that spark?
R. This spark is that awakening that has harmed you and is pulling you or pushing you toward an ascent.
S. It becomes a spark only when it reconnects with Kedusha otherwise, it doesn't illuminate, like the friend said before, then a person fails and it’s like he doesn't succeed. Is that also called a spark at that point at that time?
R. Yes and no.
10. S. (57:09) We learn in another part of the lesson that there was a shattering and all of the sparks fell out of Kedusha and we need to raise them back up. And in my life, I connect all kinds of states and it appears that way, that things that are connected to my environment in the past and the present. Is there some kind of connection between those things between the shattering and the negation that I'm seeing at the moment in me, where I identify let's say, the Creator is not the Good That Does Good meaning disqualifying? Is there some connection between these things?
R. You had vessels, you thought you were going to correct them with a screen and the inner light that will shine in them. You couldn't do it, the vessels fell. They were in a relatively good state, they didn't have Inner light but still, now they have fallen and shattered and what little light that was in them, belonged to them, is now departed. Now, you have a matter of correction.
S. What you described earlier is a state that a person experiences in his current life.
R. In life.
S. Yes, in life this is the process we all go through, and we know. What I'm asking is if there's some kind of connection to the shattering of Adam HaRishon, the shattering of the world of Nikudim. Something that I feel today as that I disqualify something? Is that a result of this incarnation that which was in the past?
R. Yes.
S. Another question regarding the spark that we raise: Would it be correct to say there is the mind and heart here, the heart goes up and down and draws me this way and it's under the control of the Creator. And what is maybe under my control is the mind, to hold onto wherever the heart doesn't go the mind will make the effort and will remember that He is the Good That Does Good, and we need to adhere to this.
R. We will learn about this. We will learn.
11. S. (01:00:07) Rabash wrote five times, the praise of the Creator, of the glory of the Creator. Can we say this is the difference between the place and the Creator is the acquisition of the spark?
R. The feeling of Eternity.
S. But why is it not written about the Creator in versus the place?
R. That's how they speak about it.
12. S. (01:00:45) We learn that the wisdom of Kabbalah is practical and even scientific, and always when I hear about the point in the heart it sounds like supernatural that a person is all vessels of reception and all of a sudden, some yearning of bestowal awakens in him.
R. Well?
S. What stands behind that?
R. What’s behind it is the Upper force that wants to raise a person to its degree. That’s it.
S. Now when a person lives life and thinks he is awakening, as he writes here, he gets turned out and then eventually he feels the spark again. What's the goal of that?
R. To awaken the person to make him rise to the degree of the spark.
13. S. (01:01:59) Do we need to pray that there will be no car accidents because these thoughts in the heart build a person?
R. We cannot do it without ascents and descents and falls and collisions, we cannot do it without these things; because otherwise we will not reveal our true state and we will not ask for salvation from Him.
S. Meaning, there can be ascents and descents and not necessarily car accidents?
R. Yes, we don't have accidents. We just say that he writes here in the article of a road accident; but after he fell from a spiritual degree to a corporeal degree, there's nothing more like that.
14. S. (01:02:57) What does it mean that the Creator will complete it for me and that a person receives at once what he wants? Do we receive the quality of bestowal at once and not after many efforts?
R. The quality of bestowal we acquire after many times of asking and we will receive it gradually in an ascent.
15. S. (01:03:24) Whether the illumination of new sparks is dependent on the person or of the Creator?
R. You can say it's neither the person nor the Creator after you've established the degree of the vessel. The vessel falls because it cannot receive in order to bestow from that same level. Then, it's clear what has to be done; to provide the vessel with the screen and coarseness and gradually to fill it with the light that departed from her.
16. S. (01:04:14) Is there a connection between a spark and deficiency and what's the difference between a spark and a lack?
R. A spark is the light, which is simply called this way, and a deficiency is the will to receive, which isn't able to take care of itself.
17. S. (01:04:46) It’s written we need to avoid running from the campaign even though we see it’s not easy. I have to try each time anew as one who starts to ascend should say that he's coming once again to his previous degree, and the question is how to believe that each time a person raises new sparks?
R. To believe?
S. Yes, how to believe each time we are raising new sparks?
R. We don't have the vessel of faith yet. Gradually we are starting to come closer to this matter more and more although we don't grasp it in our feelings yet, we are already in its area, in its vicinity.
18. S. (01:05:53) What can we do to grip Him more? Like you said just now, what can we do today, in the Ten, together so that let's say, we'll come here tomorrow a little bit more ready to grasp this thing?
R. You have to scrutinize that.
S. Every Thursday we have a certain meeting, a Ten meeting in which we talk about the greatness of the goal, the importance between us, and we work on the connection between us, and it really gives us the energy for the whole week. So, we're about to have such a meeting today. What can we take or some advice that you have? Not just us, there are many Tens’ meetings today. What can we take in order to again, want to advance? We want to take that next step. What's missing but what can we do in order to advance one more millimeter towards this exalted goal?
R. I think that you take an article like what we just read and try to realize it and see if it's working for us or not and why not.
S. Meaning to make a meeting around and truly digest this article or tomorrow's article it doesn't matter which?
R. Yes, yes.
19. S. (01:07:50) About the implementation of the article, in the article he talks about many states of ascents and descents and darkness and light, and he says that there are many things that a person needs to do, he needs to try and believe, etc. Each time he says that a person sees it is always that a person sees that he's descended, that he's not advancing, that he said he's going backward, he's seeing that there's no reality to overcome. Every time he writes he is like looking with his eyes and he sees corporeality and he sees that his state, well, the question is, after person comes to a good state or a bad state, no matter what, if he can’t rely on his eyes because what he sees is always sending him to the opposite of spirituality. So, what eyes can he rely upon in such a state in order to understand his situation? What can he rely upon because each time he says a person sees, it's always in a bad direction?
R. Eyes are a person's upper vessel. So, what are you asking about them?
S. I'm asking when he's describing states that a person goes through each time the response to that state when a person sees meaning he's trying to understand his state and then he discovers he's not capable, and he's not advancing, that he's moving backwards. That’s what he writes in the article every time he writes a person sees, it's like something he doesn't even understand if you realize in his eyes because he doesn't understand the state. I'm saying what can he rely upon? What are those new eyes that he can rely upon so that he will understand his state because his eyes obviously don't?
R. He has nothing to rely on except for the Creator and the point of connection between himself and the friends.
S. A vision is a very powerful sense meaning that which a person sees is the most powerful sense. How can a person replace his vision, his sight, and above that consider this point of connection with the friends. How can he rely on that more than what he sees with his eyes?
R. But what does he have in the spiritual world? Only the point of connection with the friends.
S. So, the spiritual reality, that is what we need to rely on?
R. Yes.
20. S. (01:10:40) I simply want to praise our teachers Baal HaSulam and Rabash and you, for giving us this beautiful description of the spiritual process we have to go through. Because my entire life I looked for such things and really when I read this, I felt in me that here this is the truth, there's nothing else, this is the true psychology if we could say this, there is no psychology and it's like, wow. The question is, because we talked about faith, where did it come from? Because I really feel that with all the stories and all the things, I can even see how he is explaining in the whole stories that we’re reading in the Torah, it's like everything is inside and everything happens within. Again, the question I'm sorry. Where did this come from? Such I'm certain knock-on wood, I don't want to bring forth anything terrible, but I am completely certain that this is the truth, this is the truth. What Baal HaSulam and Rabash and you give us every day, this is the truth?
R. And what?
S. Where did this come from? Is this something that I've been rewarded with? I don't know, is this something that the Ten gives me or is it something that, because I simply want to share this with everyone here, this feeling, it's Him, it's like hey everyone this is Him. All the truth is here. So, the question is where did this come from, and how to share this?
R. Those are two questions. Where is it coming from, certainly from the Creator, and what do I have to do when it comes from Him? To ask for adhesion, to ascend, and connection.
S. If I see that the friend lost that feeling, what can I do to give it to him again?
R. We need to approach him and embrace him, and together to make the ascent.
S. Is that something that's within?
R. Within, within. There are actions on the outside as well but It's possible that we sometimes need to try from external actions.
21. S. (01:13:46) What do we need to do with this discernment called Lot?
R. How do I reveal to him that quality, give an example.
S. That you want everything in order to receive that you want to see everything within reason?
R. Well let's say, so?
S. He says it's something cursed, it's something that needs to be that you shouldn't touch it.
R. Yes.
S. So what should we do with it? There's a dispute he says there's a dispute between Abraham and Lot, so it's not clear if it's something that is cursed and I don't even want to use it.
R. If you don't want to use it, it dies. Every discernment if it's not used it dies.
S. I understand and why does he explain the matter of directions like west and south, east? What’s the reason for explaining it with these names and then afterwards silver, and gold?
R. He gives us those names.
S. Should we too do these?
R. We use those names in order to depict or establish the spiritual world before us.
22. S. (01:15:45) I didn't understand what you answered, the friend. The Creator created the will to receive he didn't create it for no reason, we have to fill it? Why are you telling me now why we have to go above reason? Lot’s argument is clear but what is the answer, this is what I don't understand. What is the answer to Lot?
R. If we go within reason will we succeed?
S. Not all the way.
R. So?
S. There will always be a deficiency left and to fill the deficiency, there we get to Abraham.
R. So why not do that, to begin with, to engage in the work of Abraham?
S. Because in the beginning, Lot is asking if there's a desire the Creator didn't create it for no reason. We have to work with it. Meaning to satisfy and to realize it and realizing the desire is only through Abraham's work, that's what we discover afterward.
R. Yes, when you want to fill your will to receive directly, you work with it. When you don't work with your will to receive that doesn't want to be filled, you'll also work with it only in an opposite way.
S. What are Lot and Abraham, are they simply stages in revealing the real deficiency?
R. Yes.
23. S. (01:17:46) This lack of success was what a friend asked in the beginning when he said today, I'll think about the friends all day and then 2 hours later I remember I failed. Okay, now I’ll succeed. Then I remember now I'll succeed and then you fail again. Are these things supposed to accumulate in a person's feelings?
R. Yes, usually.
S. Then what it accumulates to the right amount a prayer comes out?
R. Then man must do something already.
S. If he doesn't feel like it's accumulating but being erased every time?
R. There's no such thing, none, it accumulates.
24. S. (01:18:41) What does it mean to succeed? Now I am sitting for 2 hours thinking about the friends?
R. To succeed means I correct my shattered vessel or along with the other vessels or with their help or in some other way, but when I engage with my shattered vessel, I correct it and I fill it. That's called that I succeeded.
S. Where is the test of my lack of success?
R. In the vessel, in the will to receive.
S. So, it's completely unrelated to whether or not I can hold it in my thoughts. There's something else here, a connection of my feelings with respect to the actions of my perception of reality.
R. Well let's say.
25. S. (01:19:49) I wanted to ask about working in two lines. He says that after there's no dispute in two lines he writes, anyone who runs away from honor, honor chases him. What are the signs for a Ten that the Creator respects them and chases them to give them honor?
R. We don't have to describe it specifically to the Creator or the Creator's attitude towards a person, but it's also possible.
S. How can we describe the Hassadim clothed in the Ten or the corrected Malchut let's call it?
R. Malchut wants to adhere to Bina, by that she corrects herself, she sanctifies herself, and to that extent, she starts being worthy for the upper light. That's it.
S. How do we help a friend who really wants to connect? He really wants to connect, and he understands only connection?
R. Correct.
S. Let's say build a vessel but he can't connect. It's the root of his soul, it's his record. How can we help him bring him closer and not push him away?
R. You need prayer, you need prayer. There’s a lot of people that are willing to do everything but it’s not working out for some reason.
26. S. (01:22:23) You said that to succeed I have to work with the broken vessel and connect them correctly, right? That's in spirituality and success in corporeality is something entirely different. The mind cannot switch from one to the other.
R. I don't know about corporeality, I know about spirituality.
27. S. (01:22:55) I too want to give this experience that the friends have had before, and he sees the truth in it. It happened to me at the Congress. I want to go outside and shout to everyone that there's the truth, but you can't. My question is this, what is the vessel of faith, and is the vessel of faith, is it a person's or does it belong to the group?
R. A vessel of faith belongs to the whole group. But it's revealed toward a person personally.
28. S. (01:23:51) The ascent of the spark is this a prayer for the friends? Can it be something practical?
R. No, I don't even really understand what you're asking.
S. Is a prayer for the friend, is it raising a spark or not?
R. Let's say so.
29. S. (01:24:30) It is written in the article Abraham and Lot are qualities within one body. How do we understand it? Can you explain it?
R. I didn't hear.
S. It says in the article Abraham and Lot are qualities within one person, within one body. How do we understand it?
R. How to?
S. How to understand it?
R. It's in each and every person there's a quality of Abraham and the qualities of Lot, and the person needs to scrutinize them and to distance himself from the qualities of Lot and come closer to the qualities of Abraham.
30. S. (01:25:49) On the one hand, it is not for you to finish the work. On the other hand, it requires constant labor. How does a person come out of this whirlpool and unite with the soul of the Creator? Between those two states, how can I unite with the Creator?
R. If you see a goal which is adhering to the Creator you work towards this goal, also in the vessels and reception and also in the vessels of bestowal. Then it turns out that in part of the vessels you work in order to come close to the Creator and hold on to Him and in part you're going in a way where you reject these vessels that are not built for connection yet.
S. It is certainly right but this is not his question. The question was, it's written in the article that it's not for you to finish the work on one hand. It says the Creator has to finish the work. On the other hand, we are told we have to be in constant labor so there seems like a contradiction between them. It's not for you to finish the work, it’s the Creator who is supposed to finish the work, on the other hand, we have to constantly labor, so how are those two contradictory things reconciled? Who should finish the work? We, or the Creator? How does it work together?
R. We with the Creator, when we raise all of our deficiencies to the Creator and He corrects the vessels and fills them.
S. The question was asked before, here it seems like it's not for you to finish the work, it seems like it kind of releases a person from the work on the one hand. The Creator will finish the work you don't have to finish it. On the other hand, we're saying everything that is within your power to do, do. So, it seems like there is some sort of two lines that seem to be parallel.
R. It's not for you to finish the work and you're not free to relieve yourself from it. On the one hand, you need to make sure that you're constantly in the work and you need to be happy from having this work that you can get rid of it. That’s it.
31. S. (01:30:00) In what place do new sparks awaken, what kind of a place is it?
R. In the desire, in the desire that is still corrupted.
32. S. (01:30:20) The article says the first wisdom is the fear of the Creator. What is the difference between this and believing in His good Providence, the Creator’s?
R. You start from wisdom to the fear of the Creator, right. That's what she starts from, it's a degree.
S. To believe in His good Providence, good guidance.
R. Believing is something else. That a person needs to forcefully try with his spiritual force to reach a state of faith.
33. S. (01:31:16) You said to a friend in the Ten’s meeting to take an article and try to realize it, to implement it. What does it mean to implement an article?
R. I don't think that we can take each and every article but there are such that with them we can really find ourselves and use our qualities in order to be adhered to the Creator.
S. You said that we can take today's article and to some extent realize it too.
R. In somewhat, yes.
34. S. (01:32:13) What is the role of praise in the prayer? It says in the article that it's necessary to praise so in the feeling what is this act of praising?
R. To praise means to raise the Creator to uplift Him in your eyes to the highest possible degree.
S. Does praise connect to faith in the Creator?
R. Of course.
S. Meaning without praise?
R. You don't have faith.
35. S. (01:33:21) It says in the article that he does not need anything but only his passion, what he can yearn for. Does lack of passion weaken us on the path and how can we make it so the Creator will be our only passion? He writes in the article “his only passion is that he can yearn for the Creator.”
R. Yes.
S. He’s asking how to make passion. How can we make it so that the Creator, that only the Creator is our passion?
R. By the connection between us. By the connection between us.
36. S. (01:35:00) In the article it's written that every time he raises his sparks, until he raises all the sparks that belong to him. These new sparks, do I feel them in the connection with the friends.
R. Yes.
S. The question is why do I constantly fall into once there was a connection and now, I’m looking for the new connection I can't find the new sparks?
R. I didn't understand.
S. Isn't this work searching for new sparks, I constantly think I've already connected with the friends?
R. That's a problem, it’s a problem because you're not searching.
S. How can I see this, how can I raise them, is it my relation? How should it be expressed?
R. It's expressed in your attitude in your relation to the connection between the friends.
37. S. (01:36:19) Is it possible to identify a certain specific spark?
R. Yes, and?
S. How do we do it?
R. I simply want to scrutinize what are the deficiencies that are especially surrounding me.
S. How do we distinguish between the different sparks? How do I identify this spark that belongs to my own quality?
R. That's something we don't know how to do yet.
38. S. (01:37:24) Relating to these questions, what does it mean that the sparks don't give us rest?
R. That they constantly awaken us, and we cannot remain still.
S. Is this the identification if we don't have rest?
R. Yes.
39. S. (01:38:12) Today we talked a lot about correcting the deficiency that I have to raise to the Creator, and it's written in the article that Abraham is the quality of wanting to be above reason, above the desire. Is this called the correction of the desire?
R. That's the main correction.
S. Afterward it's written in the article that he was rich, he had cattle, and then these qualities developed in it becomes Tifferet, and then there’s from the side of Hochma and Bina. How do these qualities become corrected?
R. Exactly how the first qualities are corrected in the connection with the others and a plea to the Creator.
S. Abraham is the initial quality from which the correction begins?
R. Yes.
S. What do we add afterward?
R. We add all the qualities that are in the Ten.
S. What qualities can we add in the Ten to the quality of faith above reason?
R. All the qualities from Malchut to Keter.
S. How do we distinguish between them in the Ten?
R. Don't worry, they will be revealed.
40. S. (01:39:56) In the article it's written about very intense feelings towards the Creator, for example as it is written the wisdom begins with fear of the Creator and south is Hesed and yearning and these new emotions you feel them as strong feelings, how can we develop them? How can we yearn for such feelings? The Creator in general sensed there was some sort of warmth toward Him but not such a strong feeling of yearning, of fear, and for the quality of bestowal, and in it the point of truth will be revealed. We can love the truth, we can be inspired by the truth, or yearn for it. What do we cling to in order to develop these strong feelings toward the Creator?
R. Briefly, what to hold onto in order to come closer to the Creator? Help from the friends, that is the most certain thing. In such a state we reveal our mutual vessel, we feel it, we connect it, and we start developing in it.
41. S. (01:42:26) Does the whole Ten move between the right and left lines together or each member of the Ten is in their own line?
R. That's not important. We need to hold on to ourselves in such moments and organize ourselves.
42. S. (01:43:18) He mentions at the end of the article that there is delight and pleasure towards us. What is it?
R. The good and abundance, again.
S. What is the delight and pleasure that awaits us which he mentions at the end of the article but does not elaborate on?
R. You want me to tell you what it is? We will get there, and we will feel it.
S. Is it what you said before to the friend about the feeling of incorporation and the feeling of the Creator in the incorporation?
R. Let it be that.
S. It is in order to bestow?
R. It is not everything but yes.
43. S. (01:44:22) How can we be aware; how can we discern between above reason and the state of Lot? Before that, I want to express gratitude that we've reached the conclusion that Abraham is the first who discovered the method according to the name Abraham and Lot is the quality of reception. Do we have this ability initially and this is so fitting to everything?
R. Okay thank you very much, the question is clear.
S. Okay so how can we be aware and continue to develop from here in the Ten?
R. We need in that connection, in the Ten, to scrutinize the quality of Abraham and to try that that quality will be revealed between us because it is the most outstanding most important quality.
