Preparation to The Morning Lesson ~ Workshop Questions:

Excerpts from the sources: “Work with Faith Above Reason”, #77

1. Rav’s Introduction:

Yes, I am constantly in some vice press, how to explain this more and more so it would be closer to a person? Each time I have some pictures that may be to explain it this way or that way but nevertheless I don't yet see that we have come altogether, it was always difficult for Kabbalists how this matter can be brought closer to people. Depict to yourselves such a thing, there's the form of the Creator, bestowal, and the form of the creature, reception. The creature that wants from his matter, from his matter which is reception, the way he's made he wants to make of himself the form of the Creator, the form of bestowal. He restricts himself completely as we learn this. We've been through this, through you in the study of the Ten Sephirot Part 1 and Pticha and he restricts himself and begins to build from himself the form of the Creator that is he opens his will to receive, uses it only to be in the form of bestowal. This is how he becomes a creature, a created being. That is, he asks the Creator for examples, help, but actually what he wants and he holds on to that he stands on that, he insists on the fact that he remains closed and enables himself to do actions that are only similar to the Creator even though he does them from his will to receive. This is considered to be doing actions in the will to receive in order to bestow and this is how he grows from the point of zero because he’s in Ibur then ....Yenika, Mochin. This is what we learn with you. Let the whole path that we advance on is always under the force of bestowal that we want him to control us, for him to give the form, the shape to the will to receive and we will advance. We are with you already in verse number seventy-five. I would even go back because there are very beautiful excerpts in the beginning also but we will continue this way. We will go this way. Maybe really never-the-less I think that let’s go, you know in the beginning of this file and go to excerpt number three.

Excerpt 3 Reader (5:34 - 6:05)

2. R. I need to depict to myself that that's how it is.

Reader continues “Although he looks within reason...”(6:10 - 6:18)

3. R. Meaning he doesn't attain these things are not in such a way before him, he’s just to depict to himself that they are in such a way.

Reader continues “Still he has to work he should still work above...”(6:28 - 6:51)

4. R. Meaning he has two forms: one form, that what he sees truly and the other, that which he does, wants to depict as the Creator, he’s clothing the whole world, governing the whole world in good that does good, yes...

Reader continues “Here he requires the importance of the goal...”(7:12 - 8:03)

5. R. Meaning he builds the Creator from himself. A person makes of himself the character, the image of the Creator to the extent in which he can depict what bestowal is, what good that does good is and this is how he more and more makes of himself the image of the Creator meaning he grows this way and it's called Adam and although, from within, it's the will to receive - that's his matter - the will to receive, yet he tries to build from himself the image of the desire to bestow and then such behaviour of his is called faith above reason. As from within, it comes to him a force of bestowal, of faith which comes from the Creator is above it. This is how he behaves outside of himself meaning above his will to receive. This is actually all our work for the time being and not to ask for the Creator to be revealed because then it will be within reason so the Creator erases all his exertion certainly but rather how can he depict the Creator, the way the Creator relates and behaves, that's how he makes of himself, that's what he makes of himself. This is called faith above reason. Specifically through faith above reason meaning even though he feels darkness on this path and even though he understands that if Malchut had illuminated openly and not in concealment, but the body would feel the greatness of the Creator it would be easier for him to move further and be rewarded with always being in a state of the work and he would have no descents. He nonetheless chooses to go above reason meaning specifically by resisting the revelation of the Creator, he doesn't want the Creator to obligate him, to be revealed in him. Rather, he himself wants to, from zero, in overcoming himself, to build from that the image of the Creator. Then it's as if we have some play-doh, some clay and we are trying to build, from this matter of ours, the image of the Creator, the bestower. That's what's happening here. This is why we have Tzimtzum, restriction, concealment, Haka’a, a beating and then only the image of the Creator that we build from ourselves which is called a Partzuf. I'm reading it again: specifically through faith above reason meaning what does that mean meaning even if he feels darkness on this path because the Creator is not revealed and even though he understands that if Malchut had illuminated openly and not in the way of concealment rather the body would feel the greatness of the Creator, the will to receive would feel the greatness of the Creator, it would certainly be easier for him to move forward and to be rewarded with always being in a state of the work and then he would have no descents. Nonetheless, he chooses to go above reason because he himself wants to build truly in the darkness the image of the Creator each time to think, to understand, to feel, to guess, how, what it means to be the Creator, the one who bestows and all the opportunities that are offered to him. Then maybe I'm going back again to the third excerpt, we must believe above reason and imagine to himself but as if he has already been rewarded with the faith in the Creator that he felt in his organs as if the Creator is clothing in me, how would I then behave? Talk, see, feel, respond and sees and feel that the Creator leads the entire world as the good that does good, if it were to be revealed and not concealed like now but revealed, how would I go and to behave? How would I then take on the form of the world and accept it, how would I respond to it? Also when he looks within reason he sees the opposite, that there is no such thing, he should still work above reason and it should appear to him as so he can already feel this in his organs that's what we need how we need to manage ourselves, to act this way, that this is how it really is that the Creator leads the world as the good who does good and therefore he acquires the importance of the goal, a person does so and from here derives life. Meaning joy at being and nearing the Creator and a person can then say that the Creator is good who does good and he feels that he brings him closer somewhat, giving him and each time more mind, more of a feeling of understanding how it is in the world, degrees of the revelation of the Creator to the creature and he feels himself as having the force to say to the Creator you have chosen us from amongst all the nations. From all the desires you choose the desire to bestow, you have loved us meaning you bring us closer, those desires in us and you want us since he has a reason to give thanks to the Creator for, that the Creator is playing with him this way, governing him accompanying him, attracting him and to the extent that he feels the importance of spirituality so he establishes the praise of the Creator. Everyday we have, and several times a day, a chance to feel ourselves similar to the Creator as, on one hand, there's the Creator beyond the partition and the other side here I am, and I need to build from myself from the piece of clay or play-doh, I need to make of myself the image of the Creator and I don't want him to be revealed. Rather I myself build him. That's actually the work of man. See how special this work is, as we don't give this to the Creator to do but we want to do this ourselves on our own, so I stand on the other side of the partition and I begin from that piece of play-doh, let's say of myself, to build myself such that everything I build will all be even the smallest thing that I begin to build, will be in the form of bestowal. Then I need to think, what is the Creator? What are his qualities and his desires and the intentions and actions? How do I need to build myself in this? I myself don't exist yet but I want to build myself this way from that piece of play-doh that's before me. A person makes from himself an Adam, one who resembles the Creator. That's our work. That's how the Creator wants us to come to identification, equivalence, to completely resemble him. I'm afraid to go to the questions because they might confuse us. Maybe a few more excerpts. Can you find something similar there? Maybe number five?

Excerpt 5 Reader (18:54 - 19:04)

6. R. Meaning he's not looking at anything, he doesn't want the Creator to be revealed, he doesn't want to see, want to create, to be concealed, this is considered that he restricts himself, puts a screen and says I don't want, I want to understand, to feel, to think how I would resemble the Creator, this form I want to make of myself. This is considered that he does have a restriction completely upon himself and begins to be built resembling the Creator.

Reader continues “And believe in the sages and go all the way...” (19:40 - 20:03)

7. R. Because he has nothing, starts from zero, he has his will to receive and wants, it should be revealed and begin to be apparent only under the condition that it will be in bestowal.

Reader continues “It is called Ibur, it comes from....” (20:19 - 21:17)

8. R. Meaning what the will to receive wants to do from my matter, from the qualities, from the habits, I do a restriction upon them and I want to build from them only that which is similar to the Creator. That's what is considered that I grow as an embryo.

Reader continues “And this is called Ibur which is the....” (21:38 -21:47)

9. R. That's how a person slowly begins to grow where he doesn't do anything but only a little bit more a little bit more little bit more bestowal on his behalf and that's what's considered that he is growing. Okay? Six.

Excerpt 6 Reader (22:12 - 22:42)

10. R. Since in the beginning, a person restricts himself completely where nothing remains except for that point that the Creator created in him which is called the point in the heart which can grow and around it all kinds of qualities can grow, forms that are similar to the Creator, forms that are similar to bestowal and then, around that point, something will accumulate just like the flesh that will go around and become flesh that and from that a spiritual fetus will be born meaning something that is similar to the Creator can grow around the first Reshimot, recollections, that are in a person.

Reader continues “And overcoming means to take a certain...” (23:30 - 24:16)

11. R. We need to accept it as a fact that the Creator awakes in us all kinds of thoughts and desires to myself, that he awakens in me and all of this on purpose is measured exactly according to my degree so that I will be able to make the form of bestowal upon it. Therefore what's revealed and me in order to receive, that I want this and this and this, that's exactly, that package of the will to receive that is being revealed right now upon which I can, just like a sculpture, to make the form of Adam, the form of bestowal.

Reader continues “This is something one can do with...”  (25:07 -25:44)

12. WSQ: How do we receive the thoughts and desires each time that awaken in us, that awaken in us and build, through this, the image of the Creator? How upon what is awakened in us, how do we, from that, build the image of the Creator? Please, workshop.

13. WSQ: (32:27) How do we, by each of us, let's say, I am in the ten, without the ten I'm not capable of doing this but it, when I'm in the ten and I try to do acts of bestowal towards them and receive examples in return back to me and again I try with them to enter into some interaction, some mutual connection. I bestow to them and them bestowing to me and how in this mutual way can we find some form, for the time being, that is somewhat similar to the Creator? In this way each time we continue more and more, until we start to reveal between us that we built some, interrelationship called my system of bestowal which begins to take on a spirit of life, it begins to get vitality from itself, something additional from us, from the members of the group, in this additional thing, we begin to reveal the Creator. That's the Creator. The fact that you made me, how by such interactions and connections between us in this mutual influence back and forth to one another do we come to a common form which is, which will be called the Creator? Workshop please. Talk, talk, this will be disclosed on its own, the main thing is to talk and seek.

14. WSQ: (37:30) How do I, every moment, feel myself towards the society, either I'm indifferent towards them and don't feel them or I want to repulse them or I want to bring them closer.  I'm each time in all kinds of such a whirlpool of feelings and want to arrange from all these feelings something more, a certain system, an interactive system that operates each time in movement, grows in each time in different connections between them. How do I look all the time at what we're building in the ten so that from that, the image of the Creator will emerge? That we don't want to discover the Creator, we want to build Him, to the extent that all of us can depict him together between us? How do we arrange our society such that it will be in the image of the Creator? Please.

15. WSQ: (40:57) If we can each say about the ten that one feels that there is something which is the example of the Creator, some image of the Creator. We won't feel him and we won't reveal him in any other way, only in the connection between us, as a result of the correct connection between us. Do we already have that right connection between us that we are discovering him or maybe the opposite form of him: quarrels, problems, clashes that are such that if we could just flip them and then work then we would already feel that if we flip them we will receive the image of the Creator, a thing and its opposite, concealment and revelation, in the relations between us, please.

16. WSQ: (43:55) How do I, relative to the ten, try to complement what is missing from, on behalf of the Creator? How do I add my attitude towards the ten and complete, in my attitude, in my relations so that it will be all the way to the point that it will be in the image of the Creator? Please, continue the workshop.

17. R. (48:49) Whoever really wants to delicately ask questions in order to help the friends even more understand and bring it close, this topic to us, then he should ask but only under that condition. If he will confuse us and that then we weren't going to write him down in our blacklist. Clear?

18. S. (49:31) About continuing the workshop...

R. No, I didn't ask about that.

19. S. (49:42) I wanted to ask, we learned about faith above reason, how do we use this in order to do all those actions that you talked about in the questions? What is our work in faith above reason, how does that work help us attain mutual bestowal between us?

R. That we want between us to build such relationships that we will be called the Creator, come and see. There's no other way to discover the Creator if not through the relationships between us, the desires to receive that will be relating to each other in order to bestow, that's the only way.

S. Where does rising above reason what is that action give us or how does it help us?

R. Because we're doing these actions of mutual bestowal above our will to receive that everyone is restricting his will to receive and uses it only in order to bestow to the others above it to the friends.

S. This question had to do with the relations between us, we do in bestowal meaning above reason, meaning faith in bestowal is faith above reason right?

R. Let's say there's more but let's say so, that's the right beginning.

20. S. (51:39) You gave many points towards this work in faith above reason. The simplest thing when I start the work from darkness without understanding anything, what do I need to do first of all and afterwards in order to move immediately to that form of resembling the Creator?

R. What do you begin when you begin to shape the sculpture? What do you start from?

S. So the general thought from the idea?

R. So what we're capable of that's what we start doing. We have to build a ten that will be in mutual bestowal, that there will be such laws and shapes and connections between us in the ten that we will shape the image of the Creator until he appears between us in full, until our ten will expand to the boundaries of the whole of humanity and everyone will know me from the greatest to the littlest and my house will be a prayer to all the nations, that we will be the house where the Creator up here such a Kli, that's how we build it.

S. You put this criteria in the beginning that I need, you want it not in order to reveal but to be independent?

R. Of course because we want to build the Creator out of ourselves so we even resist his revelation. We want to discover him through our matter of course.

S. So I must hold on to that thought all the time that it's a kind of restriction right and I don't want it to be revealed?

R. This is called restriction, yes, I don't want to discover the Creator, I myself want to build his image, from me I want to be Adam.

S. Okay so, I don't want the Creator to be revealed from me I want to ask for someone else, the friends?

R. No, in the connection between me and others, I want to make such a network of connection between us that this will be called the Creator, come and see, that this will be called Divinity, our corrected network of connection will be called Divinity andin it we will discover the force that enlivens it, that animates it and this is called the Creator.

S. But if I ask for my friends I'm asking for them and that's above my desire?

R. Sure we all want to be above the restriction. We don't want to discover the Creator. We want to build the Creator as it says you have made me. That's it, by that we come to the level of Adam, by that we will grow, we will feel, we will become the masters.

S. What is that existence above our desire, both egotistically and above our desire to reveal the Creator, is this in some kind of effort on, by yourself?

R. It's between us not in each and every one of us. Between us there are the shapes of bestowal that are truly in the connection between us, between one to another outside of ourselves, outside of the egoistic personal will to receive in each one and so in the shapes that are outside of us, that we composed, we put together this network of mutual connection in this is called Shekinah, Divinity.

S. The Creator that gives us that quality of bestowal?

R. The Creator stands behind it we don't understand how he orchestrates it but we will later discover how he is there to begin with in every state whether we understand or don't understand find him or not he is nevertheless everywhere but just like how we are with regards to little children, will you organize everything for them but they still think they do things on their own. As we grow, we recognize that the Creator did it but in the meantime we grew in a way that is good for us which is only the proof that we've grown up correctly, alright?

21. S. (57:23) If I can clear up, I, the point of going on one hand beyond our thought and above our reason, meaning to distance the forms and imaginations, on the other hand, we go together to create images of the Creator which are in a form or ad idol, it's a little confusing me.

R. Will continue and it will become clearer.

22. S. (58:06) Does building the image of the Creator through my ten mean I'm coming to equivalence of form with him?

R. Yes, of course, of course.

23. S. (58:50) From what you're saying the feeling is as if we are already in the revelation of the Creator but we don't manage to notice this. As if we were in a fog so the question is how from this fog do we slowly, slowly come to focus?

R. When you build between you such a system of mutual bestowal that it begins to live on its own and then it begins to hold you, this is called that a cabinet holds its carriers. That's how it will be. In the meantime just keep going.

24. S. (59:54) How during the workshop can you hold on to the connection with the councils of Rabash that the answers will be on the one hand from the Rabash and on the other hand from the connection in the ten?

R. That's just bit by bit to experience, read what he writes as much as possible all of the quotes that we're giving you here you need to read them several times a day.

25. S. (1:00;32) That work that when you have negative feelings towards the ten we don't correct, it together towards something positive and grows, it turns out that it's like several moments a day these meetings?

R. I can be in this all day, why do I need to hear the friends or listen to them, I'm with them in the inner dialogue, inner dialogue. Let's say you're angry at someone, fighting with someone so you always try to prove something to him, right, and talk to him all the time as if so that's how you need to be with the friends only in a positive way, if possible.

26. S. (1:01:28) Faith above reason that we just read about, that's what Rabash is writing when he talks about accepting the friends in perfection and then to see his merits and not his faults in reason as a means?

R. This is all true, but first I have to see that I look at him negatively and then overcome that and try to see him positively.

27. S. (1:02:10) When we gather, collect this mosaic and connect the desires of the friends, we don't know which picture will be revealed in the end. We need you to depict something to ourselves. Is that what we call faith above reason, that we're continuing to connect without knowing how the Creator will be revealed?

R. I build the correct form out of the incorrect form that appears as much as it appears. I, each time, want to shape, to establish a more accurate form of bestowal. That's our work. We have to each time receive this broken vessel and corrected to some extent. This is how it works.

28. S. (1:03:15) A question arises once again about, what is it right to ask the Creator for in order to bring him contentment?

R. We only ask the Creator for one thing for bestowal because we lacked nothing because just for some bestowal so that we can build the relationship between us and from that aim towards the Creator.

29. S. (1:03:54) When we say but we want to reveal the Creator or don't want to reveal the Creator does that mean that we don't want for the quality of bestowal to be revealed in us without efforts and we know that's our quality but nevertheless we're going against that natural quality and with the help of Arvut want to present it? It's clear that we don't want anything but our desire to want that?

R. Yes, yes, correct, everything is correct.

30. S. (1:05:05) Is it important in the ten to emphasize the merits of the friends so that if this quality in the friend won't be, that everything will fall?

R. Yes.

31. S. (1:05:32) Can you explain....?

R. No, that's something you have to keep developing on your own.

32. S. (1:05:51) To want to work from concealment, just like the Creator was revealed, only in order to bestow to friends and for them to attain the revelation, is that faith above reason?

R. Well it's a part of it, it's a part of it.

33. S. (1:06:39) The Creator, bestowal, seems like equal qualities but each time you hear it differently, as if there's no, something common it kind of like, flips?

R. The Creator is the general force of nature, the governing force of nature that appears to us as the force of bestowal and for us we want to resemble what we can with our force of reception so it resembles the force of bestowal and in order to do that we need to connect between us opposite to our force of reception and try to be as one which is also opposite to our force of reception and begin to work for the others, meaning in the meantime between us, opposite our force of reception and so on and so forth, continuously against, continuously above our force of reception.

34. S. (1:08:00) I wanted to ask who compliments, who completes and in what way do they complete that gap between my desires and the image of the Creator that we want to build?

R. I don't complete, I build this above that, above my will to receive that I don't use it in order to receive and I only use it in order to bestow, in the opposite manner, where I prefer the friends desire to my own, this is called make your desire as his desire and in such a way I developing me out of my will to receive a desire to bestow above that through the restriction screen and reflected light and this is how I connect to the friends and this way I build outside of me the network of connections between us and that's called the faith.

35. S. (1:09:10) I know that my approach towards the ten needs to be sharing. What do we need to share inside the ten?

R. Our desire to be together above every each and every one's personal ego.

36. S. (1:09:50) How do you not fall to the confusions of the imagination about the image of the Creator?

R. You have a group in front of you, if you work with the group you'll have no imagination.

37. S. (1:10:08)  If we're not certain that we're building the relations correctly for the mistake of building for the Creator is it worth while to build such relationships meaning can we do trial and error?

R. We have to examine ourselves each time and again if we build something correctly or not and that's according to the writings of our and keeps going.

38. S. (1:10:43) From the intention to build the image of the Creator between us it would be right to write down the overcoming into ten each time and to call the collection of overcoming, images of the Creator and the ten?

R. I don't know what you think as long as we advance, to write down or not or what to call it I don't know but try and see how things change.

39. S. (1:11:12) All day long I'm in our connection with the ten, what do I need to manage to obtain the most important thing during these physical meetings, the short ones?

R. This is something you need to check according to the Rabash and we already said there's nothing more to add to it, look for it on your own.

40. S. (1:11:40) When I try to give importance to friends, and the importance of the path nevertheless I feel that I'm enjoying doing this, a part of me enjoys. What do you do with that? I identify it, it's not enough?

R. Nothing keeps going you enjoy, you enjoy as long as it's two words connected. Without pleasure you can't live.

41. S. (1:12:13) What is the evil inclination?

R. It's the desire, the evil inclination is the desire and the evil meanings that you discovered that it's evil to yourself that it's against yourself.

42. S. (1:12:32) With what fuel do we come to faith above reason what drives us?

R. We try through envy, lust and honour in the group to awaken ourselves to reach connection and bestowal and to resemble the Creator.

43. S. (1:13:04) Tell me please from what is it built on what is that place that we come to the form, this common form?

R. This place is the place of mutual bestowal between all the friends.

44. S. (1:13:29) In the ten, each builds a part of the Creator?

R. Yes, each time we build, we add another part of the Creator, to resemble Him, yes. Outside of us there's no such thing as the Creator. We actually build it. That's why it's called the Creator, come and see, and outside of us, really there's nothing. We'll discover later that this thing does not exist, does not exist. It only exists inside the created beings who built him and then towards them he appears and exists as their Creator.

45. S. (1:14:36) Towards what is it best to define the disturbances in order to advance qualitatively?

R. We can best detect it towards the connection in the group.

46. S. (1:14:54) We constantly hear that we need to depict as if we have merit, as if we have already received how we do this?

R. I have already been repeating this a thousand times, you need to depict to yourselves in a system of bestowal and behave accordingly, write this down to yourself as you keep asking about the same things.

47. S. (1:15:35) What is the final state or form we must see ideally in the ten?

R. That you are all connected in one heart, so connected that you feel that you literally have one heart and then the Creator appears there for sure.
