Part 1:

Rabash. Article No. 28, 1990. What Is, “Warn the Great about the Small,” in the Work?

1. Rav intro: It's a long article. Let's read it. There is depth to go into here.

Reading Rabash. Article No. 28 (00:52) Our sages said (Yevamot 114a), “Say, and You…”

2. R. (38:43) Yes, a very solid article.

3. S. (39:00) We can say that because there's no permanent work this is why we feel ascents and descents? Because with ascents and descents, we feel them because our faith is not permanent?

R. Correct.

S. What is permanent faith?

R. Permanent or complete faith is when we are in adhesion with the Creator and we feel the state that he's in and we feel ourselves in the same state.

4. S. (40:23) It says in the article that a person will keep himself from the evil eye. How can people influence him with an evil eye?

R. In order not to harm because in each one there is egoism and we're not corrected, it, therefore, his egoism one could harm the other and it will be difficult for a person to come out into equivalence of form with the Creator this is called sometimes an evil eye to give the evil eye to someone and so on and so forth.

5. S. (41:19) I feel joy and pleasure in the need to be with the friends. How can I discern if I meant an ascent or a descent?

R. This is relative to the friends and the Creator you have no other way to measure where you are. Are you inside the friends, in connection with them and together are you with the Creator?  At least to some extent.

6. S. (42:13) You answered this question partially but how can we keep the illumination between us and what is this danger of having the evil eye from people?

R. It's best if a person does not disclose his intentions to others, his friends understand it either way and they know it because they learn the same thing, they live the same thing, but to others it's best not to disclose it.

S. How in the Ten is the speaking degree manifested in this between the friends?

R. To help, support, and paying attention.

7. S. (43:13) It seems that this article provides advice on how one should remember when in an ascent and a descent always comes, and that either way should be steadfast in faith from the words of our sages, how do we remain steadfast within the Ten or in the group?

R. Only through the connection with the friends. This is called that each shall help his friend. A person has to help his friend. Each shall help his friend and in this way they help one another and they don't fall.

8. S. (44:43) The ascent that we cannot calculate, during this sense is it because we fail the descent?

R. I didn't understand this question.

S. In the article, it says when you are in an accent you should not calculate these descents. If I'm not capable of calculating the ascents does it mean that I am in a descent.

R. Maybe, it could be, but we also don't know how to measure it. Keep going, you should continue as much as possible, meaning keep closer to the friends, connect with the friends and each and every state this will bring you benefit you will understand the previous states the current states the coming states.

9. S. (45:54) Why should we value the time of assent from the Katnut to the Gadlut?

R. We constantly need to try to hold on to to grab hold of the Creator like a child grabbing hold of his mom, and constantly be in adhesion with Him.

S. Can we do that through the connection? Do we have to do it through the connection?

R. Of course. We have no other options.

10. S. (46:57) On the one hand the article tells us that the Creator does good to every person, at the same time we hope that our actions will change things on the earth, so how do we balance these three things together because it seems like a contradiction?

R. We need to understand that by connecting between us, when we reach adhesion with a Creator, by that we change everything. We don't need anything else. Only closeness to the Creator. That's the only thing we should be aimed at and invest all of our energy in that.

S. What does it mean that the world was created in ten utterances?

R. Ten utterances means that we have the ten Sefirot that we learn about, this is called Ten utterances so it could gradually advance from corporeality to spirituality.

11. S. (48:44) Should one feel fear in the state of Katnut or the state of Gadlut or both of them?

R. A person has to not fear in Katnut or in Gadlut and use both to approach the Creator.

12. S. (49:42) Throughout the article I get an impression that Rabash cautions us to take precautions to avoid a state of Katnut, but we also learn that even on higher degrees on the path a person will experience both Katnut and Gadlut. How do we reconcile this should we consciously work to avoid going into Katnut or a decent?

R. We will scrutinize that. there are many discernments in that. That is correct.

13. S. (51:00) Why in a time of ascent we should be afraid of the descent is the descent unavoidable isn't it better to relate to the descent and ascent equally?

R. No because during the descent I move farther away from the Creator until I don't feel him and that's a transgression and during the ascent I connect to the Creator I approach him I feel Him and I have the power to keep His desire so it's desirable. That's the difference we have to make between a sense and descent.

S. The descent comes, however I know that I'm going to fall?

R. So what. By knowing that I will fall, is that better for me? I nevertheless have to hold myself as close as possible to the Creator. Clear?

14. S. (52:26) Why should the Creator give me an ascent? How can I ask Him to persuade Him to give me an ascent?

R. He wants that we will ascend to rise to Him so the moment we ask we certainly awaken Him to help us although our request should be as organized as possible.

15. S. (53:04) The pleasures forbidden in Torah are these physical pleasures. If so, how are the satisfaction of these pleasures related to a man's physical pleasures?

R. They're important because specifically through them when we see how we are still in them we have an opportunity to advance to come out of them and to approach the Creator.

16. S. (53:53 What is the best possible thing that can keep a person during a descent

R. His connection to the Ten.

S. What does it mean being connected when we're not physically together? How can I be connected?

R. I don't know what a physical gathering means. There are Tens who'd never see each other physically they are spread all over the globe but you have to be connected as much as possible in your heart and soul.

S. Maybe we should also meet with the Ten once in a while?

R. This is according to how your ability is your decision and capable of doing it but even without that.

S. Is it important?

R. Relatively.

17. S. (54:49) Sometimes you say that, you told us that you saw that Rabash was in a state where he couldn't do anything he lost all of his forces, so how did you help him?

R. I don't speak of such things to the relationship between me and Rabash. I'm not speaking of those things.

18. S. (55:31) It says here that it turns out when a person engages in the faith of the Creator person should develop in a certain time and depict to himself how a person will then feel when he is rewarded with nearing to the Creator. To dedicate time seemingly to send myself to the corrected future and bring it to the present is that what one should do here?

R. It doesn't matter but he imagines it to himself he depicts it like this. I mean the present state by measuring the desire. By measuring the desired state I change my present state?

S. How does that fact, I imagine the desired state which is not the present state? I'm in a present state which is not that the desired state by measuring the desired state will it change my present state?

R. To some extent I can't say it about all states.

19. S. (56:54) How is it possible that there would be such a condition as avenging where there is love and passing?

R. Avenge in the place of love?

S. Yes and spirituality we speak about love and bestow how is it possible that there is avenging there?

R. This is the evil inclination that comes to a person and he can twist him in any direction from any state and if a person knows this, meaning that he's been through such things before then he understands the evil inclination can do whatever it wants with him and a person is very cautious and he makes sure not to fall into the evil inclination these things are very important. You can feel them harshly.

20. S. (58:05) Obviously it's possible how could it be that a person is in a descent he can't really feel the pleasure of being in permanent faith, the question is can one be in a descent if he already feels the pleasure of permanent faith?

R. No, how can it be, No but permanent faith is something we should always aspire to. fantasize about it to ourselves how to be in permanent faith.

21. S. (59:19) How to be faster in the descent when you're in an ascent? if you could give us some tips especially in the Ten we felt that the ascent and that the coarseness is about to grow before it happened and why is it important that's not only in the Ten we now feel that we are on the way to bestow to our people and everything that we wanted to have positive influence so how to be faster than the opposition for example?

R. You need to get closer to each other and think only about the connection between you that the connection between you will be between you and you will all hold on to it and hold on to it the connection and advance in this way.

22. S. (01:00:15) When the friend is in a descent and decides to leave the Ten and is looking for better days to come. Can something like that happen and what can we do for that friend?

R. We should always think about better days when we would be better connected closer to each other and all of us will be closer to the Creator. all the time try to be drawn to such a state.

23. S. (01:00:07) What states are we responsible for? Which states in the descent can we bring about in the Ten?

R. We should not think about that, we should only think about the positive states, about the connection between us and never think about the descent.

24. S. (01:01:54) When we are in a state of ascent it is clear that that the descent will be bringing us closer to the Creator but in the descent we lose that feeling how to hold on to to the sensation of the descent that this brings us closer to the Creator, bring the descent?

R. In a descent we're not close to the Creator however in the descent we should search out to be closer to the friends and in this search we will also find out to get closer to the Creator.

25. S. (01:03:03) We do inner work in order not to stay in a descent. Do we need to also do inner work during the descent in order to reach the next level of the next degree?

R. Of course, from any ascent we can reach even the greater ascent, it all depends on our sensation. We can be in an ascent and we can begin to think that it's not in an ascent. This is just a descent, it's a state that precedes the next ascent. In such a way we can rise and rise and not to descent and ascent, ascent and descent.

26. S. (01:04:20) Our sages said, the world was created in ten utterances. It could have been created with one utterance! However, in order to avenge the wicked, who are destroying the world, it was created in ten utterances, and to give a good reward to the righteous, who are sustaining the world, which was created in ten utterances. The question is what is the difference between creating the world  with others or ten utterances? If the punishment to the righteous is felt here as well ultimately we reach the end correction what is the difference?

R. The wicked, the righteous exist in a single place and the person discovers how much he is a wicked according to the evil inclination in him and how much opposite to that he could be righteous according to the good inclination that will grow in him. In order to separate these two states in each and every one we have a system called the Olam, the world, and the system separates every person from the next person and within the person it separates the good and the bad person within him. This is how we grow and we always have a choice.

S. My question is, how does the state change when we reach the end of correction? Both states the wicked and the righteous, the wicked will suffer and will feel that they are suffering, the righteous will feel that they are advancing and hasten it, what is the difference? What is the difference between what are transcendent audiences?

R. I don't understand the state and I'm not as wise as you and I simply think about what I need to do in the present state and this is what I recommend for you to do. Suddenly, you are thinking that you're thinking about the end of correction, what you like to be there. Completely not to the point.

27. S. (01:07:09) How come we come to a true and complete need for the Creator to help us if a descent is a state that we need to avoid?

R. We should not run away from the descent. We should be drawn to the ascents and this is what we should do. Of course it says referring from evil and do good. but the most important is to be drawn to the good and coming close to the Creator. It corrects us in everything.

S. To see the descent for the purpose of building the need is it still then a descent?

R. Following everything we see that there are not so many descents, after all it all shows us the possibility for the descents..

28. S. (01:08:50) Could you elevate more about the practical work about the depiction?

R. In the next state which is desirable for a person is that he will be even more connected with the friends as one man with one heart and that inside of this connection they will begin to discover the Creator with one for everyone.

S. In this article it says that your fate should be as knowing and seeing so it seems that this work of the picture is very important for us to overcome what we actually feel and see. How can we practically build this depiction as you said to be as one but the depiction needs to be something clear in front of us so how do we build it?

R. When I speak to the friends I get an impression from them and then I can depict to myself the corrected state.

29. S. (01:10:28) Rabash gives us such a feeling that during the descent a person has to make all the calculations to avoid a descent and he should examine The importance that he has now,

how to evaluate the importance that we have right now?

R. Specifically, try to do it in the Ten, consult with the Ten and all of you together will reach such a state where it will be clear to you how you can appreciate or evaluate or value this spiritual state.

S. Meaning we should think of a certain index in the Ten certain measurement?

R. Start and you'll see how much it helps you. It will help you develop.

30. S. (01:11:35) My question is with respect to the ascent and descent does it have anything to do with the fact that the righteous know that day of their death?

R. It does not talk about that.

31. S. (01:12:17) What is the difference between angry and anger during the descent and anger during the ascent?

R. What is the difference between anger in a descent and ascent? In an ascent we do not have any anger and we have more and more closeness to the Creator and the desire to thank Him and respect Him. Whereas in a descent we have to overcome this state itself because it brings us anger which means distancing from the Creator and even though we are in the descent we should understand that it is a descent for the sake of ascent  and also not to be angry but realize that it is necessary.

32. S. (01:13:33) In greatness we get to know the individual authority and the smallness. I feel that part of my desire. If I say that something is in my hands does it mean that I'm in the state of decent?

R. What is in our hands after we connect with the Creator whether we are in an ascent or a descent then we can decide.

33. S. (01:14:27) How can we see or judge the friend according to his good inclination or the bad that I see in him?

R. It is not simple. You have to come out of yourself and clothes in the front and then you can judge him the way he sees himself. What to do as much as you are connected to the group it will help come out of yourself a bit more towards the group towards the reason of the society then you will also be able to close in a friend. Those are the exercises that we have to do.

34. S. (01:16:33) Sometimes Rabash gives states like he writes here the article speaks of the fact that during the descent a person feels like he's falling. What makes him fall? Did he miss something or does he have to fall?

R. He still must fall. A thousand times a righteous falls and must get up but he needs to be prepared for it and to respect all the states that he goes through because you cannot have one without the other.

S. What does it mean to descend for the sake of an ascent.? What does it mean to really do this descent? What do we need it for?

R. You need it in order to appreciate the ascent.

35. S. (01:17:03) He writes that we need to hold on to that little that we have, what is our work in the states of corporality where it seems like there's a chance of holding up to faith. Are those states truly lost?

R. No, it is not lost. States you just need to get closer to the friends and grab them and both of your hand and your teeth and not to let go of them and then you will see as much as you will have an ability to change the state.

36. S. (01:17:48) When a person has a gap between what exists and what he desires, sometimes Rabash gives advice like here as if he is as the desired state as if he reach the complete and sometimes he gives advice not to agree and demand from the Creator  meaning to say that I'm not in this and demand from the Creator to solve it so when is it this way or that way?

R. It depends on your state. I cannot say it in general regarding all states.

37. S. (01:18:32) When we are in a negative state we feel faith in the Creator and we are truly in a state of descent, does faith hold us in greatness in order to come out of the state of a descent?

R. Yes.

S. The friends are in different states of ascents or descents so to feel the completion of the whole thing is that a constant ascent?

R. There is no constant ascent if we are constantly going through ascents and descents. It is a state that does not not exist.

38. S. (01:20:06) He gives important advice about working the ascent but how to define the ascent and know that I should start the work that he's recommending?

R. Try, you feel yourself in some kind of a state.

S. What is the measure? What pleasure and suffering, what defines the greatness of the Creator, how can I decide this is a state, because there is a pleasure in the descent as well?

R. You have a desire to rise, to resemble the Creator more, to be closer to Him or you completely have no strength of desire for it. Check you can measure everything according to desire.

39. S. (01:21:09) A friend asked about the danger of the evil eye and you said that the person does not know his intentions. I thought that the intention is not something that Israel and all the same person himself can feel what the intention is in. What did you mean that it is best that a person should not discover his intentions?

R. No, it's not right, sometimes it's not real to a person, sometimes it's not revealed to where he is headed.

S. But in your answer to the friends it says that you should not disclose intention to friends because they learn to understand the same thing it says best not to disclose it?

R. Yes, so you don't confuse each other.

S. I still didn't quite understand how you can disclose your intentions?

R. Why do you need to reveal your intentions, can you show them to someone?

S. I don't know. How do you know your intentions, can you enjoy it?

R. Let's say you can but it is not worth it.

S. Can we talk about the intentions during the ascents or the descents?

R. Both should be kept to oneself.

40. S. (01:22:46) You said that we should attain such a state, in which towards us these states will pass really quickly. Where am I when these states go by in relation to me?

R. You are in them.

41. S. (01:23:17) Good morning, question, when a person is in a state of descent can he harm the Ten and if he harms in a conscious manner how should we relate to him?

R. You always need to see the friend as beneficial for the Ten no matter what states he's going through and in such extreme states they take place if he causes damage to the Ten then to such a case that he can speak against them.

S. We have this extreme state where a person is talking against everyone and we have to understand, for supporting him and keeping him in the Ten other friends can leave, those that he is talking about? It is not so clear, on one hand we all love the friend and on the other hand he is in a very big descent?

R. Is he saying it from a state of descent or is that just what he thinks?

S. We don’t know if it is because of his descent or he always thinks like this.

R. Has it been going on for a long time?

S. About a month, right after the convention.

R. What is he saying that it is a bad Ten and that you are not friends and so on?

S. He's talking concretely about certain friends and he's insulting them without any reason. He could be in a state that maybe he's drunk and he's not in a worthy manner when you are trying to say certain things to each other.

R. You should threaten him that you are going to toss him out of the group.

S. And if that does not help?

R. Throw him out.

42. S. (01:25:14) During descent we have to be cautious about transgressions, what transgressions should be cautious about to not reach it during the descents?

R. Any transgression, any distance from the friend we should be cautious of.

43. S. (01:25:52) In the article it is written the mercy of the nations, is there sin? The grace of the nations is to sin? Can you explain what that is in our work? (Moderator explains: All the good of the nations, the good they do, they do for themselves.)

R. These are groups that are not connected for the sake of the Creator, for the sake of mutual bestowal or connections, so what they do is by that they destroy themselves. That’s why we have to see them in a way and relate to them. We usually do not relate to it, we are in a part of a spiritual path that we are only concerned about the connection between us, in Tens, and Tens and Tens and no more than that.

44. S. (01:27:44) How to make calculations of Gadlut, greatness when we cannot reach the state of smallness, Katnut?

R. We need to try more and more to try to help the friends in the group, to unite the group stronger and stronger.

S. You said just now about the matter of the evil eye, it's not something so pleasant. When women gather we ask about women. Is it worthwhile to simply read the sources and deepen in the sources and not between us. Like you said to the friend right now to find in your Ten and you can talk and then you will see that it advances you. How acceptable is this for women or is it too early for this?

R. It's not exactly for women, it's better that they study and then each one will understand what  she has to do. The women are a bit delayed about the connection between them.

45. S. (01:29:14) I have the feeling that all my attention needs to be directed towards that distance between me and the Creator and between me and the Ten, and the moment I see some minimal rejection minimal distance, I need even more to add as much forces as I have to connect to the group, to add to them and the more I add the more important it becomes to me?

Is the salvation defining the distance between me and the Ten, and the moment I feel the distance to immediately run and make those efforts?

R. Yes.

S. Can that sustain me to hold on to the states by our teeth?

R. Yes.

46. S. (01:30:18) What does it mean to hope and announce and declare in the work? It is written to be the cautious of the great ones over the small ones, what does it mean?

R. That was a rule to spread that word about getting close, each one to everyone.

S. It is written to announce to priests, the sons of Aaron and say that none of them should be defiled by the impurity of the dead. Does that mean we have to be cautious in states of descent of smallness so they won’t be defiled?

R. Yes.

S. Meaning for us not to stumble and be stuck in a state of descent?

R. A person who stops working in spirituality is considered as dead, the upper spirit leads them, and you cannot come in contact with such a person.

S. About the warning that a friend who has descended twice, we help him and the third time we let him go?

R. He is not dead, he fell and he doesn't have forces.

47. S. (01:32:20) Can there be anger during an ascent and what should be our attitude towards the corporeal pleasures?

R. There are necessary pleasures that we need and without them we cannot exist in our corporeal body. Except for that we are only thinking of our spiritual state.
