Reader: (00:03) We are in a lesson on the topic of Everything Is Obtained by the Power of Prayer. We will read selected excerpts from the sources, and we will start with excerpt 11. The study materials are available in the Arvut system, you can also send us questions through the websites. Excerpt 11.

Reading: (00:28) 11. RABASH, Article No. 29, (1987), "What Is ‘According to the Sorrow, So Is the Reward?’" Twice

“There is no light without a Kli, no filling without a lack," first one needs to obtain a deficiency. That is, he must feel that he is deficient of this Kli called "desire to bestow." And concerning feeling, it is impossible to feel any lack if one does not know what he is losing by not having the Kli, called "desire to bestow." For this reason, man must introspect on what causes him not to have the desire to bestow.

To the extent of the loss, he feels sorrow and suffering. When he has the real lack, meaning when he can pray to the Creator from the bottom of the heart for not having the strength to be able to work for the sake of the Creator, then, when he has the Kli, meaning the real lack, this is the time when his prayer is answered and he receives assistance from above. It is as our sages said, "He who comes to purify is aided."

M. Laitman: We are in a state of preparation for quite some time, and we should delve, also now, in how we feel ourselves connected between ourselves and also with the Creator, as all of that becomes one. What does it mean, one? That we will feel no change between what I think and know and understand and feel, and our entire world Kli. So truly, it is all one. In order to have that vessel, we need to organize our deficiency, as it is written, there is no light without a vessel. There is no fulfillment, no filling without deficiency, and this deficiency, to have contact with the Creator, that I yearn toward Him. This deficiency is for me the main thing, the great thing that grabs me, that fills me, rises in me, all of me. And we are only looking for Him, where is He? We discover Him, to such an extent that I will feel only a deficiency in that: A deficiency for contact with the Creator, that's it. And according to this deficiency, all kinds of words of prayer will awaken in me, of my attitude toward contact with the Creator. And then according to the deficiency, the filling will come, the filling will be revealed. The light is revealed only in the vessel that's ready for it on that level. And in each and every degree there's a deficiency and there's a light deficiency and light. That's how we can advance from one degree to the next.

Question (Turkiye): (05:35) Man was created with a will to receive. From where can he discover inside of him or achieve a desire to bestow?

M. Laitman: When he hears what the Creator tells him, he tries to hear. He makes efforts in that direction. From that, he gets the ability to listen and to hear.

Reader: (06:25) Friends, we're going to read Excerpt Number 11, again; Excerpt 11 from Rabash article.

Reading: (06:29) 11. RABASH, Article No. 29, (1987), "What Is ‘According to the Sorrow, So Is the Reward?’"

Question (Turkiye1): (08:55) A person comes with a desire to receive. How can he invert it to a desire to bestow?

M. Laitman: From having an attitude towards someone from his will to receive, he can change it to his will to bestow. It depends only on his preparation, on his decision.

Question (Kyiv 1): (09:46) You said that we are in the preparation, and we need to deepen in our preparation until we feel ourselves as one, and there is no difference between what I feel and what the world Kli feels. How to differentiate between what I feel and what the world Kli feels?

M. Laitman: When you come out of your egoistic will to receive, and you only have your calculation with the Creator, in that case, you don't feel yourself as an individual, as single in anything. But you feel yourself existing, and powerful, and able to do something for the world Kli. Through that world Kli, also the Creator feels, that you want or what you wish for everyone. And it turns out that your relation to the whole world Kli and your relation to the Creator become as one. To one, the attitude that comes out of you, then everything comes to one unified, common connection.

Question (Lithuania 1): (11:50) We as a Ten think how to make our prayer – should we change it, or keep it as is when every friend adds throughout the morning lesson, some part of what he feels for the prayer? And then we compose our prayer for the others at this point or maybe you recommend some other style for prayer?

M. Laitman: We can once or twice a week have a private prayer from each one; afterwards you can discuss it. You can compare those prayers, you can bring them to this like one formula, to this one purpose, it can help you advance.

Question (MAK 11): (13:17) It is written in the article that our lack depends on the extent that we feel the loss from not having the desire to bestow. But if to begin with we didn't have such a desire, how can we feel it?

M. Laitman: If you want to feel it, if you want to bring it back, so then you'll be able to feel it. Then you'll feel that you can awaken from within you that desire, and you'll want to implement it.

Question (W Turkiye): (14:09) I heard you talking about the depth of the connection, the depth of the contact. What does a person need to do to attain this depth, and is the depth of connection with the Creator the same as it is with the friends?

M. Laitman: The depth of the connection – we feel the depth of the connection to the extent that we're in it, and in that measure, we can pass it back to the Creator. And then we'll be on that wave together with Him at the same time, we as receivers, and He as a giver. Let's keep going, we are on 12, right?

Rav reads: (15:30) 12. RABASH, Article No. 22 (1986) "If a Woman Inseminates"

The only way to obtain a deficiency, that we are lacking the desire to bestow, is by prayer, which is a "medium" between man and the deficiency. That is, one prays for the Creator to give him something for which he has no deficiency, that he will lack it. It follows that the Kli that is called "deficiency" is a deficiency with respect to the feeling, meaning that he does not feel its lack, and the prayer is that the Creator will give him the light, which is the filling of his lack. It therefore follows that the filling is a lack. Thus, he has no other choice but to pray to the Creator to give him a deficiency, and this is what connects the Kli with the light.

Question (Woman Turkiye 7): (17:13) In every state we go through, our lack changes, it grows. The question is, what's the action we need to do in order to add to the deficiency in every state? How in every situation we go through, does our deficiency change? And what is the action that we need to do for our deficiency to grow?

M. Laitman: The action is simple: Try and aim yourself to that same wave that we all have to go into. Then, we can feel how the Creator is turning to us, and how He wants to send us His feeling, His knowing.

Question (Turkiye 7): (18:28) When one cannot do the work, the lack is very clear. The question, how can we be so involved in the work that we still feel the lack, clearly, not just when we don't succeed?

M. Laitman: That depends on as much as we take into consideration what the Creator wants to give us, what He's sending us. That's why it is worth it for us to constantly be in the feeling of a deficiency, to the words of the Creator, to what He wants to tell us, to the feeling of the Creator. Then it'll come.

Question (Moscow 7): (19:37) You gave an advice to do a personal prayer twice a week. What does that mean, that personal prayer, so we can compare it, analyze it?

M. Laitman: It doesn't matter, do as much as you can. Within a few days, we'll come back to connecting our waves, our hearts, and then we'll talk about it.

Question (MAK 17): (20:20) What does a person lose in a vessel called, the desire to bestow?

M. Laitman: If a person doesn't have a desire to bestow, his desire is completely opposite of the Creator's desire, and then he can't be in contact with the Creator. But if he has a desire to bestow, so he's directed to receive and to give, to give back to the Creator. That's why it's worth it for us to think how we advance to the desire to bestow.

Question (PT 31): (21:16) He writes, it looks like there's no other advice but to pray to the Creator to give him the lack. And with that, he connects between the light and the vessel. How do we hold on in a state in which we're in a deficiency all the time, because our nature wants a filling?

M. Laitman: That's correct, but I need to depict to myself that the feeling of a deficiency is the fulfillment. Then I feel myself full, why, because I prepare myself to a feeling, to such a way that in it the Creator can be revealed, and then I can feel Him. And this way I'll reach a state that I want Him, and that'll be the vessel.

Question (W MAK 43): (22:37) Can we say that the created being becomes similar to the Creator, not in the place where He receives, and not in the place where He bestows. But in the place where He is not capable of receiving or bestowing, and despair, that thing that happens, is something that happens not even in the light?

M. Laitman: And if a person feels that he's not able not to receive or bestow, so it's worth it to annul himself, and join, join the people in the group. Then with them, he can still somewhat come closer to the Creator, and from that, he can also become the bestower.

Student: What's more important, what's deeper: Reception in order to bestow, or my suffering from my inability to bestow without receiving?

M. Laitman: Suffering aren't the purpose. We don't have such a desire to suffer, we have to try to be in a feeling of bestowal to the Creator. And to receive from Him everything He wants us to receive. And to bestow everything we think we can give Him, to pass to Him.

Question (PT 35): (24:31) You said that we need to be with the Creator on the same wave. What is that same wave that the Creator wants to pass on to us?

M. Laitman: To bestow to one another and to the Creator, and that's what, that's what we want to be in.

Question (W Haifa 11): (25:05) When we ask all day long for the deficiency for bestowal, how do we feel that that is bestowal? That we have given sufficiently, and we're not bothering the Creator from doing His work. That's the problem that bothers me all the time.

M. Laitman: We can depict to ourselves a mother who wants to bestow to a baby. As much as she is happy that he, from himself, reveals a deficiency to what she prepared for him. Then between them, there's nothing that closes off the connection. On the contrary, she's happy that she has a deficiency to give him, and that he has a deficiency to take, to receive from her.

Question (W PT 8): (26:24) I heard you said to try and aim ourselves to the same wave that we need to enter, all of us, and then we will feel what, and how the Creator turns to us. How does the group aim itself to that circle? Is there a certain technique, listening inwards, or writing, or listening? How do we do it?

M. Laitman: We try to connect and be closer to the Creator. He becomes our address that we want to reach, and then it happens.

Question (Belarus): (27:25) How is the place from which we raise the prayer connected to the prayer? Yesterday, a friend of ours from Bnei Baruch, some of the friends, traveled to some place, and we all raised a prayer, and we all felt it.

M. Laitman: That's how it's supposed to be.

Student: I heard that there's no meaning of a certain place, or the rocks, but they traveled to the mark of a certain righteous stages, and felt it that way, over there.

M. Laitman: First of all, it's a special place; second, you wanted it, you felt, that moment, that your desires are uniting, and not contradicting, but on the contrary, they are completing one another. If, in that way, you'll act with all of your desires, so you'll get a united desire, that in it, for sure, you can influence the Creator.

Question (PT 11): (28:50) At the moment, most of us are in a certain corporeal fear. Can you build the spiritual lack from a physical fear?

M. Laitman: Yes, of course you can, a corporeal fear has to awaken us to a spiritual fear, that we, just as there's a negative spiritual feeling, we want, through that, to reach a positive spiritual feeling. So, the feeling of a deficiency, the spiritual one will feel it, and through that, we can also feel as much as we're lacking a vessel for it. Through that vessel, we will reach a spiritual deficiency, meaning, that I will be lacking to connect with all the friends to one desire, and through that, we can reach the Creator.

Question (Karmiel): (30:45) Often, reception evokes shame, whether it's from the Creator or from the friends, and sometimes, you just accept it as a given. What's more in these desires?

M. Laitman: We're not in a state that we can say about some desire that we don't need it, or a state that we can have a better state. But we need to see, always, according to comparison. As much as a desire is stronger, it can pull us to the desire to bestow, and then, we will succeed.

Question (NY 2): (31:46) Can a person use a general deficiency, like a general lack in the will to receive, and take this general deficiency and develop it towards a deficiency for bestowal?

M. Laitman: No. First of all, he has to let go of that desire, then he can receive the form of bestowal from it.

Question (PT 35): (32:37) I heard that it's very important to be in a constant lack for the feeling of the Creator. How do we constantly care for the feeling of a deficiency for the Creator?

M. Laitman: If all of us in the group, in my group, want to be directed towards the feeling of the Creator, so it's for sure that also me, also I am in it. Also I will feel that it is lacking.

Student: How is this supposed to be expressed in the connection between us when we want to feel that lack in the Ten?

M. Laitman: When each one will feel that he is lacking it; the main thing, if we can combine our deficiencies.

Question (MAK 25): (33:47) The prayer for the deficiency and the connection with the Creator that we can hold on to, how is that connected?

M. Laitman: Even before the prayer we can hold on to that. If we don't let our deficiency fall, meaning forget, but we'll constantly be connected to it, so we'll be able to attain it, to realize it.

Question (W Heb 1): (34:24) Sometimes there are states where a person came to a certain measure of connection, and then he's satiated, he feels a certain feeling. The question is how to renew the deficiency, quickly?

M. Laitman: To renew a deficiency can be a big issue sometimes, a big problem. That, we can't come out of a deficiency that we got, and we have to keep going in that way. So what is good, if we do such exercises between us, between all the friends, that we receive some kind of direction and thought and calculation. And we all, everyone receives support from it as a fulfillment. Then in that force that is filling our desires, we can work.

Question (W Rehovot 1): (36:09) I heard you saying that we will feel ourselves connected also between us and also with the Creator, that everything becomes one. What's the meaning that everything becomes one? How is the connection with the friends and the Creator become one?

M. Laitman: That we overcome above our will to receive, towards the desire to bestow, and we connect to the desire to bestow of the Creator. And in this way we can incorporate each and every desire to bestow on reality. And towards that desire we can become, we aim it to bestow to the Creator.

Student: The only advice is to attain a lack that is missing to bestow through prayer. Why only through prayer can you attain the deficiency for bestowal? Why not the morning lesson or dissemination? Why is the prayer the only means?

M. Laitman: Morning lesson or dissemination isn't a deficiency on its own, they are actions. Prayer can be a cause but it's already a degree because the prayer itself comes out of the deficiency in a person. And if a person doesn't feel this deficiency is a prayer that comes out of him to the Creator, so, for now, it doesn't really work.

Question (W PT 23): (38:23) At the beginning of the lesson I heard you saying, in each and every degree there is a lack and light, a deficiency and light. And also in the example that you gave with the mother and the baby, the baby wants and the mommy is satisfied. But there's a feeling that the lack actually comes from the light, not from me. Does the Creator awaken or the deficiency?

M. Laitman: Yes, the Creator awakens, and that's what we're discussing, how we can awaken in the Creator a desire to bestow to us.

Student: So the deficiency that comes from us actually is a certain feeling of deficiency of the Creator?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (PT 5): (39:22) Do we need to pray only in the moments where we feel like the prayer is erupting, or three times a day, like the Kabbalists write? What does it mean to overcome in prayer, actually?

M. Laitman: To overcome in prayer means to overcome to such deficiencies that in them I think how to bestow to the Creator, but usually I don't have.

Student: And is that something that I'm supposed to seek every moment to have in me? The Kabbalists said three times a day, then I'm three times a day, I stop and I do it? How, I'm trying to understand this mechanism?

M. Laitman: The mechanism is simple: You have to be directed with your deficiency towards the Creator to try and bestow to Him as much as I can in actions that I will feel as necessary for me to. And then in that way me and Him will be as one vessel, also to bestow and also to receive.

Student: And I'm supposed to do that all the time, in certain moments, seek certain peaks?

M. Laitman: Better to do it all the time, better all the time.

Question (Latin 1): (41:25) How does the incorporation of desires work?

M. Laitman: Incorporation of desires. It's through the incorporation of the desires, what? That each one that feels a certain deficiency, if he wants with his deficiency to cause a change, a positive change towards the created beings. He wants to connect with all the desires of all created beings and to pull them in one direction, towards the Creator. Then, and according to that, that's what will happen to him.

Question (W Latin 15): (42:37) Our deficiency is supposed to be for the quality of bestowal and adhesion to the Creator. But how to come to it being a true one in order to truly appeal from the depth of our heart to the Creator?

M. Laitman: As much as we're persistent about it, we'll feel from time to time that our desire is stronger and includes everything.

Question (PT 29): (43:13) How to feel that the blows from the Creator are in mercy?

M. Laitman: For that, you have to work more and more, and then gradually you'll start feeling that the Creator's blows always come out of His love. And are always directed in mercy towards you.

Question (PT 31): (43:44) To hold on to the deficiency demands a great effort sometimes. What's the value of this inner force to hold on to this deficiency?

M. Laitman: That I only want to be in one deficiency towards the Creator, and more than that, nothing interests me. Then I am in His deficiency, and with His deficiency, I flow ahead.

Student: To hold on to this deficiency, does that mean to bestow to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Depends what deficiency you're talking about.

Student: A deficiency to feel Him?

M. Laitman: Yes. Then the deficiency to bestow to Him and the deficiency to feel Him become one.

Question (W Latin 26): (45:37) How is it possible to reach forward as a Ten when constantly the evil is being revealed in the Ten?

M. Laitman: So everybody together need to overcome against it until we're corrected, until we correct this bad tendency. And each one who is concerned that they will be connected nice and good to the Ten, will feel how it becomes easier to think of bestowal.

Question (W Moscow 6): (46:42) You said that we need to try to bestow to the Creator in the Ten. How do you distinguish where we're receiving for the Creator and where we're doing acts of bestowal?

M. Laitman: According to what you understand, that's what you do. It will still bring you to the right connection between you and the Creator.

Question (W Turkiye): (47:30) How can a person be both in a lack towards the Creator and at the same time subjugate himself and surrender, unconditionally?

M. Laitman: Because he still doesn't have a connection, a healthy connection that he also yearns for the Creator and also wants to receive from Him and also give to Him. He doesn't have those connections yet that are in such a reality, then he is in a deficiency, in the feeling of a deficiency.

Question (Tel Aviv 3): (48:36) When I pray for the connection with a friend, how important is it to depict to myself that also the friend is praying for a connection with me?

M. Laitman: That's important, what can I tell you? You think about it and you'll see afterwards as much as your thought awakens the other side.

Question (Woman Spa): (49:15) How to come to know ourselves in the deficiency of the Creator?

M. Laitman: How to reach, we have to work in that, to go deeper and deeper, to search for a deficiency how we can bestow to the Creator.

Reader: We're moving to a summary of the lesson in the Tens. Thank you very much to Rav. We're going to do a summary of the lesson in the Tens, please.
