45. It is written, “If you come across a bird’s nest along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with nestlings or eggs, and the mother is lying on the nestlings or on the young, you shall not take the mother with the young.”
The nest is the body. “Along the way” means he walks in good ways. “In any tree” is the Torah, as it is written, “It is a tree of life for those who hold it.” “Or on the ground” are Israel—who are called land [or earth]—whom he teaches Torah. “Young” are youths that he teaches to engage in Torah. “Eggs” are little ones whom he teaches the alphabet.
46. And the mother is lying on the nestlings or on the eggs. Is this the Torah? as it is written, “Do not forsake your mother’s Torah [law/teaching].” If you want to take the young, “you shall surely send the mother away,” and then, “and the young you may take for yourself, that you may prolong your days.”
This implies a person who draws upper Mochin, how he should draw them. There are three Mochin: 1) Complete Mochin of Katnut [smallness/infancy] from Matat and from Sandalphon, which are called “eggs.” It is like an egg in which the vitality has not yet been revealed, meaning the Mochin, but the vitality is destined to come. They are called “small Panim [face/anterior].” 2) Mochin of Katnut from ZON, which are called “nestlings.” The vitality has already been revealed in them, but they are small. However, they are called big Panim, since they are from ZON. 3) Complete Mochin of Gadlut [greatness/adulthood], which are called “sons,” sufficiently grownup sons.
The first two, eggs and nestlings, are extended from the first state of Malchut. At that time, ZA and Malchut are adhered to Bina, ZA to the right line of Bina, and Malchut to the left line of Bina. But the third one, Mochin of Gadlut, comes from the second state of Malchut after Malchut parted from Bina and was built to being Nukva of ZA, and came with him in a coupling face-to-face.
The nest is the body. “Along the way” means he walks in good ways. It is a person who walks in good ways and comes to draw Mochin.
“In any tree” is the Torah, ZA. “Or on the ground” are Israel, who are called land [or earth]. Malchut is called “earth,” and when Israel receive from Malchut, they, too, are called “earth.” “Teaching them Torah” means drawing for them Mochin from Malchut.
“Nestlings” are grownup youths that he teaches to engage in Torah, that he drew Mochin of Katnut from a big Panim [anterior/face], called “nestlings,” as well as Mochin of a youth. “Eggs” are little ones that he teaches the alphabet, complete Mochin of Katnut which are drawn from Matat and from Sandalphon, which are called “eggs,” which are small Panim.
“And the mother is lying on the eggs.” Is this the Torah, Bina, who is called Ima [mother], as well as Torah, since the Torah, ZA, will emerge from her? “Lying” means she bestows Mochin of Katnut [smallness/infancy], regarded as Mochin of VAK that complete the VAK, but which do not have a Rosh [head] yet, which is actual Mochin of Gadlut.
“Lying” is by hiding the legs, NHY, which lack GAR of lights, which are the Rosh. For this reason, these Mochin are regarded as the mother lying, that she lacks the phase of NHY of vessels and GAR of lights. The Mochin from the first state of Malchut are drawn up to here, while she is adhered to Bina, who is called Ima.
To receive Mochin of GAR, complete Gadlut, we must draw the second state of Malchut, which means separating Malchut from Bina, and building her into being Nukva for ZA in a coupling face-to-face.
47. “If you come across” is as it is written, “And if you walk contrary to Me … I will also walk contrary to you, in fury, and I will proceed to punish you sevenfold for your sins.” Seven is the Shechina, who is called “seven,” who will be with the people of Israel in exile.
48. “Along the way” is the burial of Rachel, which stands at a crossroads, and he told her and comforted her, but she did not want to accept comforting, as it is written, “refused to be comforted for her children.” And because they went contrary to Him, He exiled them, and the Shechina, who is called “seven,” Rachel, went into exile with them. This is why it is written, “sevenfold for your sins,” since the Shechina went into exile for your sins.
49. “In any tree” is Jericho. “Or on the ground” is Jerusalem. “Nestlings” are the Cherubim of above, Mochin of Katnut that are drawn from ZON. “Eggs” are the Cherubim of below, Mochin of Katnut that are extended from Matat and from Sandalphon. Big Panim are nestlings, and small Panim are eggs.
50. “And the mother is lying on the nestlings or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young; you shall surely sand the mother away,” as it is written, “For your crimes, your mother has been sent away.” “And the young you may take for yourself, that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.”
Because the mother goes and wanders from her nestlings and from her nest, it causes you patience, for the six days of above, HGT NHY, to have mercy on the world, as it is written, “Lord, Lord, merciful and gracious God, patient, and abounding in kindness and truth.” He prolongs the anger from the Panim that have departed because of the iniquities of Israel, as it is written, “You shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen.”
“If you come across a bird’s nest” is the order of extension of the Mochin, that the Mochin in ZA and in Malchut face-to-face are as they should be. However, because of the iniquities of Israel, they return to the first state. At that time, Malchut parts from ZA and from Israel, and goes into exile, meaning her vessels fall between the shells, and at that time, it is possible to draw only posterior Mochin, called “nestlings” or “eggs.”
However, after they have repented, ZA and Malchut are returned to a coupling face-to-face, and the vessels of Malchut that fell into the shells are taken out from the shells, and are raised back to their place, for the construction of Malchut. These vessels that were returned to Malchut become vessels for clothing of illumination of Hochma, since in the state of face-to-face, there are no vessels for clothing of Hochma.
“If you come across” is as it is written, “And if you walk contrary to Me … I will also walk contrary to you, in fury, and I will proceed to punish you sevenfold for your sins,” meaning that they will sin and separate the coupling of ZA and Malchut face-to-face, and Malchut, who is called “seven,” will go into exile.
“Along the way” is the burial of Rachel.” Because they went contrary to Him, He exiled them, and the Shechina, who is called “seven,” Rachel, went into exile with them, meaning the anterior Mochin departed from Israel, and the Shechina returned to the state of posterior, which is regarded for her as exile.
There are two phases in the posterior: 1) The first state of Malchut in its place is called Jericho, which is the first city that Israel pulled out from the shells. 2) Malchut of the second state. However, because of a sin, the posterior of the first state is revealed there, and this is called Jerusalem.
“In any tree” is Jericho, the first state of Malchut in its place. “Or on the ground” is Jerusalem, the revelation of the first state in Malchut of the second state.
“Nestlings” are those Cherubim above, the posterior Mochin that shine from ZA and from Malchut, who are called “big Panim.”
“Or eggs” are those Cherubim below, the posterior Mochin that shine from the side of angels Matat and Sandalphon, who are called “small Panim.”
Afterwards, when they repent, ZON return face-to-face as they should be, and the anterior Mochin, the GAR, return to Israel, which is the second state. In the first state, ZA and Malchut are adhered to Ima, and it is impossible that they will come to the second state until they have been separated from Ima, and Malchut is built into the Nukva of ZA.
“You shall not take the mother with the young,” since when you are rewarded with anterior Mochin, which are called “sons,” the mother must part from the sons. This is why it is written, “You shall surely sand the mother away,” meaning Ima, and it brings evidence from the verse, “And your mother was sent because of your crimes,” referring to the Ima of above.
“And the young you may take for yourself,” for then you will be able to receive the anterior Mochin called “sons.” “That it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days,” since the mother goes and wanders from her nestlings and from her nest. This causes you patience, for because the mother was separated from the young, you can draw the anterior Mochin, which is prolonging of days.
It is known that the first state of Malchut is illumination of Hochma without Hassadim. Hence, the Hochma, too, does not shine, since Hochma does not shine without Hassadim, and it is darkness without light.
However, when she shines in the second state, in anterior Mochin, although the anterior Mochin are Hassadim that are covered from Hochma, there is illumination of Hochma there, as well, since she shines in posterior vessels that remained in her from the first state.
It is written, “Lord, Lord, merciful and gracious God, patient, and abounding in kindness and truth,” and prolongs the anger from the Panim that have departed because of the iniquities of Israel. The anger and vexation that were made due to Israel’s sin, that the anterior Mochin departed and came into the posterior Mochin, which are darkness, and were regarded as the Shechina in exile, nevertheless, after they repented and were rewarded with the second state of Malchut, with anterior Mochin, the vessels of the posterior Mochin of the exile that remained from then became vessels for illumination of Hochma.
Illumination of Hochma is called “length.” He prolongs the anger means that the anger, which are is posterior vessels from the time of the exile, grew longer, meaning received illumination of Hochma, called “length,” as it is written, “And you will see My back, but My face shall not be seen.”
Sight is illumination of Hochma, and Hochma is called “eyes” and “seeing.” It is received in posterior vessels, and this is “And you will see My back.” But in anterior vessels, the Hassadim are covered from Hochma, and this is “But My face shall not be seen.”
