Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]. #29

Reading Item # 29 (00:30) “Now we can fully understand that concerning the form

of work in its last manner, as explained in the words…” Twice

1. S. (07:38) What is this condition of no more? That they won’t have anything for themselves? That's the reward. I don't understand what it means?

R. These conditions are not more and not less, they define for us the exact line through which we reach the end and find and discover what we receive in Gmar Tikkun.

2. S. (08:24) What does it mean no less than the nation of priests. Where else do we go?

R. We have to achieve that same state that we have to be a kingdom of priests. As he writes this is the final definition, “love thy Lord, love thy friend as thyself.” Meaning we don’t know how to compare the priests to love and here we see it’s the final definition of “love thy friend as thyself.” So that's the state we have to achieve everyone then,”you shall be a Kingdom of priests unto me.” Meaning that the general Tikkun has to be unbounded love and the reason for it is that we have to depart from all of the corporeal possessions and intentions and calculations and stay only with otherly love and only then we become a kingdom of priests but that’s not all. There's also the matter of a holy nation and that's already an addition that it's even greater.

3. S. (10:05) That is not clear. It says that if we would reveal the essence of the reward so they will work for the Creator in order to get that reward for themselves. What does it mean not to reveal anything? What is all about?

R. Therefore, he was told no less, meaning to not interpret the matter of the reward expressed in the words a holy nation. The reason for this is that if he told them about the wondrous things in the essence of the reward they would necessarily use and assume His work in order to obtain that wonderful reward for themselves. So what's not clear to you here?

S. The people that study the wisdom without any reward?

R. It is the highest reward to not have any reward because you are looking at your Kelim of reception,it’s not yours, you don't want to fulfill these Kelim.

S. So, nothing, no hint, no nothing zero?

R. Some hint a little bit that you will get along the way that you have some dirt that you can still clean but we're not talking about the end of the road here.

S. How can you encourage us to keep studying? How can you lift us from the ground? We hear you, we hear the lesson. It's nice but nothing goes in. How can you lift us from this level of zero to encourage us?

R. This awakens you to make a prayer; to raise a prayer. What's the problem? Ask the Creator to position such a system for you so that you can’t do anything in it the way you think and there's no progress and nothing is added and in all of that turn to Him and what's the problem? Why do you turn to me and not to Him?

S. In order to be completely despaired. So I guess I'm not completely despaired?

R. So who is guilty that you are not in despair probably the Creator because He still gives you something because you are not in complete despair.

S. What does it mean to pray from the bottom of your heart? Really from the bottom of your heart, not just words. You said today stop saying words, words, words that nothing happens there. How can you reach a level of truly praying from your heart? That's how you started the lesson. How is that possible?

R. I don't know what to tell you. I think that you just have to understand where you are.

S. Do you think we don't know where we are?

R. Sure you don’t know where you are.

S. How will we know?

R. You don't need to know.

4. S. (14:30) Working without reward is that rising above the battle and assuming the middle line and from that stage praying to the Creator that the friends are able to have the strength to rise above the left line and the right line?

R. Well that too.

5. S. (15:02) Is what we just read when he wrote no more? Does that mean working above reason?

R. No. No more refers to a limitation and above reason is not limitation. You have to go for it, you have to achieve that.

S. Thank you.

6. S. (15:45) Today we don't have a problem to receive the reward to be like the Creator to see from one end of the world to another controlling reality and so on. So what is the reward that they said not to add on?

R. That we cannot bestow more and we can’t receive more. That's basically when we reach such a degree where everything is open.

7. S. (16:36) In the excerpt it says that this will be considered working for oneself for self-love. That in turn will fortify the whole purpose. How can we measure whether we work for self-love or not? How can we be in the right purpose?

R. By connection between us if we all connect and we feel ourselves that we first want to achieve connection and after we achieve connection from that connection we aim ourself towards the Creator then our work it's accurate. That’s clear?

8. S. (17:38) What period of our work are we discussing here so we can contemplate that the work shouldn't be revealed in its true form? Is it before coming out of Egypt or after coming out of Egypt?

R. It is when we are already coming out of Egypt and we are going towards bestowal.

9. S. (18:14) What he suggested here is no less is the work and no more is the reward?

R. Yes.

S. This is like a stumbling block, it says take no more but receive no more than what I offer you?

R. Let's read this again.

Reading # 29 (18:58) “ Now we can fully understand that concerning the form of work in its last manner, as explained in the words “a kingdom of priests,..”

10. S. (22:20) One question that is nagging me from the beginning of the Arvut part is that it is impossible to reach the law of Arvut without 600,000 souls working for us to receive and at the end from the height of attainment of Baal HaSulam he tells us you shall be a holy nation. To me that only you can do it and not others. My question is how to connect the beginning that we are obligated as 600,000 souls to give the Arvut to every friend in the Kli in order to attain, first being a kingdom of priests and the holy nation and to connect to that and then the last part, that he presents to us in the article?

R. You confused me completely. You speak so nicely like a poet that I stopped thinking: I enjoyed the connection of the words.

S. I have learned from you to try to speak eloquently. At the beginning of the article it writes that without 600,000 souls that take upon themselves the law of Arvut the body of the Kli cannot realize cannot achieve the sublime goal which is being a virtuous nation and a holy nation and I asked how to connect the beginning that he presented to us as a condition that we all have to accept it in order to truly become a virtuous people for the Creator and work without reward to become a holy nation. How do we connect the beginning to the end?

R. Meaning that Gmar Tikkun has to be spread over all, controlling all and that's why there's a question, how all of humanity will get there.

S. All humanity yes but through Bnei Baruch meaning through us it has to pass on to the world?

R. What to do with those who already died so they don't belong to humanity so what does it mean that everybody reaches Gmar Tikkun?

S. According to what we have learned before a person starts bestowing he merits eternity even beyond this protein-based life.

R. So it's not about this protein life? So what does Gmar Tikkun have to do with those who are already in business and why are we already speaking about them too.

S. Because we were created in order to pass this light to the world. We are just a small portion.

R. To all eight billion people?

S. Indirectly yes. Meaning through us the light will pass through the world and the Creator does the job but it will pass through us because we will be the example.

R. Okay that's one possibility.

S. What is the other alternative?

R. We will see I don't know.

11. S. (26:40) Is no less than a kingdom of priests and no more than a holy nation that describes the maximum level of attainment of a person to achieve Bina?

R. Yes, yes, that's what is written. No more no less.

12. S. (29:28) I have a question about the article. It says here not to disclose the wondrous reward. So it says that 600,000 loyal lovers will care for me. Is that not the highest reward?

R. That will be revealed to the extent that you can be active and mutual in this action.

13. S. (30:00) When I manage to feel the deficiency of the friend and pray from the heart the Creator listens, truly listens and wonderful things happen and as a response there is a feeling of purity a very profound purity and fulfillment and I also understand from the article how to protect myself from this feeling. It turns out that my desire to connect to others,I do that in order to feel like that so I end up working for myself. So how do I make actions only to connect with the friends so they will be better off?

R. You have to try and love more. There is nothing to do but that. It’s like a mother with her baby; she doesn’t demand anything from him, from her newborn, just to give to him,to bestow, to love. That’s the only thing that determines her behavior. That’s why. She doesn’t think about what she can receive from him but only what she can give to him.

S. Yes but still we receive. We receive this unique feeling.

R. You receive it but you don’t demand it.

S. Meaning when this feeling comes, just accept it?

R. Yes.

S. So it is not receiving for self?

R. Of Course you have to accept it otherwise you will just disregard the Creator, towards that connection and balance.
