Baal HaSulam. The Freedom Two Creations: A. Man, B. A Living Soul

Reading The Freedom: “Two Creations: A. Man B. A Living Soul”

1. R. (01:00) This is what is written in the Torah.

Reading continues

2. S. (03:15) What is the advantage of man from everything that we've read so far?

R. For the time being there is no advantage to man over all of creation besides as we will learn the fact that he can turn to the Creator and ask for the understanding and the feeling and development in order to become similar to The Creator but basically it's just an aggregate a collection of materials. Protein this is man.

S. In continuation. he writes that this action called life we receive only after we come to that point of taking on the form of pleasure that a human has?

R. Yes when we want to be similar to The Creator we receive from him the strength and then the forces concealed in us accumulate and become depicted or shaped in such a way that we become similar to The Creator and out of the correct accumulation of our elements we begin to feel where we are, with whom we are in contact, how we should operate in order to influence the Creator and to receive more of his influence on us.

S. What are those forms of receiving pleasures that are human from which we develop?

R. It's not development it's simply an animate form of enjoyment there's nothing more than that and we enjoy all kinds of things that awaken in us from our will to receive which the Creator installed in us to begin with.

3. S. (05:29) In the last piece it's written, the forms of reception what does it mean?

R. All in all, all of our inclinations, our discernments lead us to a higher degree every time.

S. What's the difference between me collecting them consciously or it just happens?

R. It depends if it's the path of Torah or the path of suffering. If you want to grow then you're getting lights and through them you grow and if you don't reveal the forces to grow then either you are given suffering or you don't grow, you become like the still in the same state.

S. How to see and understand that these things that come to us in our life that we see as suffering for them to be inverted and how do we use them to build?

R. To be able to check, to examine all the suffering and direct them towards our development. It's like a father who punishes a child in order to force a child to grow up correctly, so this is how we have to see, how we have to look at it. When we get all kinds of signs we call them blows in order to grow, we receive them from the Creator and it is written about it, he who spares his son the rod hates his son.

In every state we come in order to discover this greatness of the Creator and the love that unites all of humanity and all the created beings.

4. S. (08:04) We don't simply want to become an Adam and come to bestowal. We today want to perform a common action. We connected with the Moscow 3 group. We have a very strong form of unity here we're preparing this evening a meeting that we will have, we're preparing for it and we wanted to scrutinize a few questions with your permission?
R. Okay and where can we watch it?

S. It will be convening of the area all over Europe and Western Europe, Siberia and Kavkaz and it's going to be on zoom and it will be once a week.

R. Great! Wonderful.

S. We are preparing the content that Kiev 3 and Moscow. We really want to advance and the question is: What is a prayer and how do we see the state of the world and what is a prayer for the world and there's a question that has to do with that. Certainly each sees the pain in his way and it starts from his opinion what the world is but when the Kabbalists guide us to something it's something we would like to advance in. What is the view of the Kabbalist of the world and what is the state of peace and how can we come to this?

R. This is all very simple, peace comes from the word Shlemut, wholeness, you understand so the word peace is wholeness. What the world needs to attain when it's connected wholly and bestowing upon each other positively. This is the state of peace, when everything in the world is closed up in a connection and there is understanding that only mutual filling one of the other can provide everyone with the absolute state and then peace comes to the world.

S. How can we understand that all of us have to rise above our reason so the understanding of each other's understanding of what this complete State should be. How do we rise above it and do it for the sake of the Creator and so all the wars have happened within us and not outside of us?

R. Yes that's right and what to do, again gather all together as much as possible and pray to the Creator and ask, there is nothing more important or more powerful and more influential than prayer.

5. S. (11:45) We built all those questions together they're not personal questions, we've had many meetings and this new field was born. We saw practically that we understand that we have to be connected, we want to come to connection and we are doing it but there is a war in the heart.

R. That's wonderful you're starting to feel where this ego is truly and you see it and you can already feel it you're defining it and now you just need to catch it like you grab a snake and pull it out of the heart. And nothing except for that.

S. And what does it mean to grab the snake and pull it out of the heart?

R. Where is it written in the Zohar that whoever grabs the snake grabs him by the tail and not by the head.

Reader: In Shamati, there's a whole article about it.

R. Find it. What can I tell you, it's a wonderful movement on your behalf, it will bring peace to the world. We need to do something together. I am very happy that you have today, that you'll have such a gathering today. And I intend to participate as well. We will advance together. Our entire salvation is through connection, there is nothing else we don't need anything else anything we attain in life, the transition from this world to the higher up world, the attainment of the final correction we find it only in the connection.

S. The most important thing that we get from here is to take the deficiencies in the heart and raise them, but this is what's impossible. Is this what we ask for and this is what does not happen.

R. We need to take our snake if you already feel it is sitting and to crush its head with the stone you understand just like that, truly crush its head upon a stone. That is what is said in the Book of Zohar. And this is the correction of the ego.

S. Many things are happening, many states. Miracles are happening in our meetings and we could not believe that such a connection could happen. You say that in order to feel the deficiency of the other, the sorrow of the other and feel it in myself the snake stands and interrupts there. And this is what will help the situation in the world to not deteriorate but we discover that the problem really is to feel, to find this deficiency and to really want it.

R. To feel the other, that is what this snake is considered. To feel the other like I feel myself. Love thy friend as thyself, that is the most important task that we have and here look at how the ego kind of binds us in such problems Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Poland all the world all together is inside like this. Yes and this is how we are between us. We are evolving until we will find the solution. The solution is only going to be through us asking the Creator to remove all the obstacles between us and to connect between us only he can do this.

S. The conference is usually a hundred or two hundred people but if you participate there will be many more so we're waiting for you.

R. I will participate, I will participate. We made a deal.

6. S. (17:44) Does the breath of life mean the will to receive?

R. No, the soul of man is the filling inside there.

7. S. (18:08) What should happen for a person who studies Kabbalah so we will want to leave the animate pleasures and connect to the Creator?

R. You pray to the Creator for him to do so.

S. Why should he want it? Should something happen to him to want to leave this animate pleasure?

R. But you are saying he wants to leave.

S. But he can’t!

R. He should pray.

S. But it sounds like everything depends on suffering

R. No we don't need suffering. Suffering can be very small like a little tiny stab and a person says ok and that's enough.

S. But it seems like you need kind of a restart where a person says ok so I'll continue for another month, another year. He won’t move though. Something needs to happen for him to move.

R. The Creator gives him the first initial awakening that's for sure and a person does so.

S. I'll tell you why I'm asking so we don’t lose time, if you can put it this way, if you give some advice. What should we do so that we don't go over another year, another year.

R. We need to implement what's written, and not to think that today He will give us a solution for tomorrow.

S. What is the point we need to press?

R. Upon oneself, upon yourself, your essence. That you want to connect with others, that you want in such a way to annul your ego and that's it. Do it.

8. S. (20:09) I'm trying to understand Baal HaSulam with the words he writes here they are not clear. He writes in this there's no advantage to man over the rest of the parts of creation and as it's written dust, dust from the earth and he writes but it's been clarified that there's no existence and reality to this force called will to receive. What does it mean, I'm alive and I breathe and I work.

R. You are operated by your will to receive, don't worry. It’s not running away from anywhere.

S. He says there's no such thing, so what is this ego, it doesn’t exist, this world?

R. He has a reality, and what a reality but in this world it's very weak. It just exists for us to develop in the first degree. The degree of inanimate, or still.

S. He writes: he's regarded as a dead person, lifeless because his will to receive it has no place to clothe, and reveal its actions. So what is he trying to say?

R. He wants to say that you're an egoist, but a very small egoist.

S. But how does that help me advance in spirituality?

R. We need to be a big egoist.

S. Even bigger?

R. Of course.

S. Bigger egoist than I am today?

R. Of course.

S. What does it mean that I’m worse than today?

R. You want to devour the whole world.

S. And then what? So I want to devour?

R. Then you have to want to come to the Creator and say hey come and fix me.

S. What is a correction? I'm a bad person, I'm selfish so what is the correction? What is the correction that we always talk about?

R. The correction to the point where you want to love everyone in place of hating everyone.

S. Do I want to love everyone?

R. You don't want to, but you want to want to love everyone.

S. But I don't want to love everyone, that’s my problem.

R. Then ask for a change in your desire.

S. How do I ask for this change? I have been asking my whole life.

R. Ask that you want to love everyone.

S. And then what?

R. And more and more and more.

S. What is the way to do it?

R. Just ask.

S. We keep talking about connection, how do we make connection between the friends?

R. What can I tell you.

S. That's my problem how do we do it?

R. We need to pray.

S. You're saying that the prayer is missing?

R. Yes, arrange your friends for that.

9. S. (22:50) What is revelation of life? Is it the name of the Creator? What is revealing Life? Is it the name of the Creator?

R. Revelation of life, I haven't heard about that.

S. We just heard about it now.

R. I don't know what to do with those two words.

Reader: it's in the last paragraph We read: reading again.

S. What is a manifestation of life?

R. It means to discover the source of life, where he's discovering the light that emerges from the Creator and fills him and gives him life. That is called the revealing of life.

10. S. (23:56) In the previous lesson and in this one too, I heard that you said to turn to the Creator again and again and again. What do these pleas build in us?

R. Maybe they create in him a desire to turn to the Creator truly.

S. And what are they building the connection between the person and the Creator?

R. They build connection where a person becomes needy of the Creator. He sees that the friends are all trying to turn to the Creator because that's why they connect between themselves as well so that from the connection between them they will connect to the Creator because that's the condition and in such a way he finally discovers that he's advancing towards the source of life.

S. What can we add to these repetitive pleas to make them more effective so we will open this channel more quickly?

R. This is all through the example that one gives another and also all together the extent to which we connect and turn to the Creator and ask.

S. Even if we don't see the friends inner work we should just believe that it works, exists all the time?

R. Of course it exists. Look at them. Look at them, I see that each of them somewhat moves day after day. Yes. I even see upon them how they're changing, not physically but internally.

S. I don't have inner vision. I don't see what is happening to people, so what should I use.

R. Then you simply need in advance that it is so and to respect each and everyone in such a way.

11. S. (26:04) Help us please understand something, everything I feel I always feel it as my own. Something that belongs to me. I cannot distinguish whether it is my feeling, my sensation or it belongs to a friend. How do I understand a feeling of the desire of the friend?

R. I don't think it's that important as long as you feel that you have this desire and you want to aim it to the Creator, you want the Creator to fill this desire so that in this desire you will meet the Creator and later you will scrutinize if the this desire came to you from the friends or from above from the Creator or from you yourself. That is all later.

S. But I can't ask for myself?

R. Don't worry, ask. If you want to come closer to the Creator you can ask.

12. S. (27:35) We talked a lot today about fathers and sons and mothers and daughters. How can we be good parents to our world if we ourselves are still babies?

R. But that's how the world is built. Since the concern of a mother and a father towards their children is a natural concern, it's truly real and natural and therefore they can ask the Creator and he hears those requests. That is nature, just like we relate to our children, that's how the Creator relates to us.

13. S. (28:18) Toward the end of the lesson I wanted to ask a general question not related to the article, a person who studies for many years and doesn't take an active part but on the outside superficially he does everything, he comes to the lessons he warms up the chair, he checkmarks he was at the lesson he was at the meeting but he doesn't analyze where he is today compared to yesterday, he doesn't have this constant dialogue with the Creator. He feels like he's being led like a lump and he has no initiative not internally, not in anything, can such a person advance?

R. He advances, he comes every day, he's incorporated in all kinds of events with the group, he hears the lesson, with half an ear it doesn't matter with whatever forces awaken in him. Therefore it is important and he advances. We should not disregard any one that is connected to the direction towards the Creator and we need to respect him, to hold on to him and to bring him closer.

Reading (30:27) “This is the meaning of the verse and breathed into his nostrils..”

14. S. (37:40) The question is if the ten really manages to connect that it becomes one person and one heart and it discovers an additional reality, and in the same place the point and the heart feels that There Is None Else Besides Him. Should a person still go to the spiritual reality and he doesn't need to look for the ten anymore?

R. A person needs to hold on to his environment and to make it spiritual and then everything will work out in life, in this life and in the next world and this world and in the upper world, everything will be fine only to the extent in which he sustains and holds on to the correct environment.

15. S. (38:57) In the article he speaks about the decline of the will to receive along with the biological aging, but today it seems like we're succeeding in inventing more and more impressions?

R. That is not important, a person dies eventually, so don't worry, calm down, so another twenty years we need to see how we attain eternal matters.

S. Yes but compared to when he wrote it it's like?

R. It's not important, it doesn't matter if it's another 20 years.

16. S. (39:49) For a regular person how can we explain how they can revive themselves and increase a desire for life?

R. All people have the same method for all people.

S. Which is?

R. Connecting to the Creator through the friends.

S. How do we explain it to the general public?

R. To learn this is not some exalted thing to connect to the friends as close to you and the Creator is within the friends.

S. A person will feel something new and a taste for life?

R. Yes he will feel the new world.

S. In order not to grow old the person will say he doesn't want to grow old, he wants to live?

R. He has no control over time.

S. You for example, you are constantly on the edge, you are always attentive and alert?

R. Please who's bothering them.

S. All the people will want to be like you.

R. Engaging in the inner work, the Wisdom of Kabbalah allows you to be constantly in development. What you attained yesterday you attained today, if not today then tomorrow but you're constantly yearning forward. There's no other way there's no other remedy.

17. S. (42:02) Concerning dissemination, when you are looking for ways to disseminate, did you exert more action or in prayer for the Creator to send you the right forms of dissemination or opportunities to disseminate. Today we have plenty of opportunities but how do we find them?

R. No reply.

18. S. (42:33) Strong hatred is revealed among friends to the point that they want to kill each other, what should we do?

R. Kill yourself.

19. S. (43:00) The text talks about the will to receive that dies. When we begin to die does the same happen with the desire to bestow?

R. No, the desire to bestow does not die because it is inside the Creator, not inside of a person. In us only the desire to receive is.

20. S. (43:43) It's not clear why relinquishing a desire because it's been satisfied is regarded as more life than a desire that was quenched because he couldn't get what he wanted. What does the teacher want to teach us here?

R. Baal HaSulam wants to teach us to hurry up to use the desire in order to attain the purpose of Creation in it.

S. What system of relationship should I do with my ego because on the one hand I have to restrict it, on the other hand I don't want it to die I want to give it a drive?

R. It won't die, it's eternal, you can just change its form, don't worry with your ego.
