Part 2: Baal HaSulam. The Preface to the Sulam Commentary, Item 20.

We're studying The Preface to the Sulam Commentary. You can find the article on the Arvut System. The Preface to the Ladder commentary, item 20. Subtitle, How the Lower One Rises to its Upper One, number 20.

Reading Item 20: (00:26) “How the Lower One Rises to its Upper One.”

By this ascent of Malchut to Bina, the connection and the possibility of raising each lower One to its Upper One has been prepared.

This is because the rule is that when the Upper One descends to the Lower one, it becomes like it. And also, when the Lower One rises to the Upper One, it becomes like it. Hence, in the state of Katnut, of the degree, when the ending Malchut rises to Bina, it drives Bina, and Tifferet and Malchut, outside the degree into the degree below it.

Then these Bina, and Tifferet and Malchut, become one degree with the degree below it. Since the Upper One that descends to the Lower One becomes like it. For this reason, in the state of Gadlut, of the degree, when Malchut returns and exits Bina and comes to its place, Bina, Tifferet and Malchut that fell from Bina return to their degree and take the lower degree in which they were while they were fallen along with them.

Because they have now become one degree with the Lower One, when they were fallen and became as one with it, they take it with them on their return to the degree and elevate the lower degree to the upper degree.

According to the rule that the lower one that rises to the place of the Upper One becomes like it, now the lower degree receives all the lights and the Mochin that exit the upper degree. Thus, it has been clarified how the ascent of Malchut to Bina induces a connection between the degrees, so each degree can rise to the degree above it.

Thus, even the lowest degree can rise to the highest level through this connection made by the fall of Bina, and Tifferet and Malchut, from each degree to the degree below it.

M. Laitman: Questions, please?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (04:03) He writes that the ascent of Malchut to Bina is considered the upper one going down to the lower one. Why Malchut rising is considered as if the upper one is going down?

M. Laitman: Yes, the ascent of Malchut to Bina seems to us like an ascent, right? The lower one to the upper one.

Student: The vessels restrict upward towards Bina.

M. Laitman: Yes, and he says it's actually a descent of the upper one to the lower one. Or is there a descent here?

Student: So, what's considered that the upper one lowers Himself to the lower one? He even says that they become one.

M. Laitman: Yes, it's a question. At least it's clear to us that we have a question with a question mark.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (05:11) It's a bit similar to what the friend asked. The upper one descends to the lower one, incorporates in it, and now when he ascends, he pulls him back with Him, right, that's the mechanism. So, in which vessels does the lower one fill the upper one? In what incorporation the vessels of the lower one can incorporate with the upper one, on what basis?

M. Laitman: The vessels of the lower one that enter the upper one and are incorporated in it.

Student: The lower one can feel the sparks of the upper one in what vessels? Up until now, he didn't have those vessels.

M. Laitman: But it rises to the upper one.

Student: The upper one pulls him, he doesn't rise. He pulls him up, right? The upper one?

M. Laitman: Well, okay, he pulls it, and the lower one connects to the upper one.

Student: Right?

M. Laitman: And then it becomes incorporated in the upper one.

Student: Yes, so in which vessels does he feel the upper one because until now he didn't have the upper one's vessels, suddenly he feels them, in which vessels?

M. Laitman: Wait, what was there before?

Student: The lower one was the lower one, he had his own vessel. The upper one went down to him, performed some kind of hocus pocus, then he felt Him, now he's taking him upward. Before, he didn't have those vessels, and now he does.

M. Laitman: The upper one.

Student: The lower one, the upper one, I don't know, I'm speaking about the lower one. Suddenly he gets like an extra something that he didn't have before, in which vessels does he receive it? Because he is vessels of reception, where does something else suddenly come into this equation?

M. Laitman: Because they connect, because they connect.

M . Laitman: Read, go ahead. Yes.

Student: I'll start reading from 20, and you help us?

Re-Reading Item 20: (07:53)

Student: By this ascent of Malchut to Bina the connection and possibility of raising each lower one to its upper one has been prepared. This is because the rule is that when the upper one descends to the lower one, it becomes like it.

And also, when the lower one rises to the upper one, it becomes like it. Hence, in the state of Katnut of the degree, when the ending Malchut rises to Bina, it drives Bina and TM outside the degree into the degree below it. Then Bina and TM become one degree with the degree below it, since the upper one that descends to the lower one becomes like it.

For this reason, in the state of Gadlut of the degree, when Malchut returns and exits Bina and comes to its place, Bina and TM that fell from Bina return to their degree and take the lower degree in which they were while they were fallen along with them. Because they have now become one degree with the lower one, when they were fallen and became as one with it, they take it with them. On their return to the degree and elevate the lower degree to the upper degree.

According to the rule that the lower one that rises to the place of the upper one becomes like it. Now the lower degree receives all the lights and Mochin that exist in the upper degree. Thus, it has been clarified how the ascent of Malchut to Bina induced a connection between the degrees so each degree can rise to the degree above it.

Thus, even the lowest degree can rise to the highest level through this connection made by the fall of Bina and TM from each degree to the degree below it.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, this describes the whole mechanism?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Why is it called, fallen, that the upper one goes down to the lower one. Why is it a fall?

M. Laitman: Well, after all, it's not its state.

Student: What makes them fall? The word fall isn't so nice for something exalted.

M. Laitman: Yes, but this is what happens to it, it loses its strength.

Student: By wanting to help the lower one, he loses the forces and goes down to him.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (11:04) All the connections on all the degrees are pleasure from bestowal and suffering from reception?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, all the ascents and descents are actually from that, it's always like that.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (11:25) How does the lower one ascend to the upper one?

M. Laitman: How does the lower one ascend to the upper one? It receives a desire, from the desire, out of the desire, it gets strength. And then it rises to the upper one.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (11:57) How, in the ten Sefirot could there be an upper degree and a lower degree? There's a Rosh, Toch, and Sof, how is that connected to the upper degree?

M. Laitman: These are parts of the Sefirot, how they're divided into several groups. But you have ten Sefirot, there, you can divide them into another hundred Sefirot. It doesn't matter.

Student: What's a higher and lower degree in the Partzuf?

M. Laitman: When there are vessels that belong to the upper degree, there are vessels that belong to the lower degree. And there is a relation between them, which is, that one is higher, and one is lower.

Student: So which vessels belong to the lower degree? What Sefirot belong to the lower degree?

M. Laitman: The Sefirot of ZAT, the bottom seven of Bina, Tifferet, and Malchut, belong to the lower degree.

Student: And then when Malchut rises to Bina, so what are the upper Sefirot?

M. Laitman: When Malchut ascends to Bina, it is considered that all the Sefirot that belonged to Bina now rise to a higher level.

Student: When Malchut descends back down, what change is made, when it goes back to its place?

M. Laitman: That now she has an opportunity to receive a new will to receive and correct it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (14:04) The Sium, the end of Bina, if I understood correctly, when Malchut ascends to Bina the Sium goes down, below, If I understand correctly. So, first, what happens below the Sium of Bina, what happens with those Sefirot? There's no feeling, there's no livelihood, nothing? It seems I don't know how to explain this. But it seems like an opposite piston that when Malchut was in Bina, goes back down. So, what in the lower one rises back, why is it called Gadlut, something ascends. Specifically, when Malchut goes back down, something rises, there's something inverted happening, I can't understand it.

M. Laitman: Let's read again. Read.

Student: Happily.

Re-Reading Item 20: (15:34) “How the lower one rises to its upper one.”

By this ascent of Malchut to Bina, the connection and the possibility of raising each lower one to its upper one has been prepared.

This is because the rule is that when the upper one descends to the lower one, it becomes like it. And also, when the lower one rises to the upper one, it becomes like it. Hence in the state of Katnut of the degree, when the ending Malchut rises to Bina, it drives Bina and Tifferet and Malchut outside the degree into the degree below it.

Then these Bina, Tifferet and Malchut become one degree with the degree below it. Since the upper one that descends to the lower one becomes like it.

Reader: Should I keep going?

M. Laitman: Yes, why not, because up to here.

Student: Yes, this is really my question.

M. Laitman: Go ahead, ask.

Student: How does the upper one descending to the lower one becomes like it? The upper one is the quality of bestowal?

M. Laitman: I'll ask before that, how can it be that the upper one descends to the lower one if it doesn't become like it?

Student: Becomes like it, means receives coarseness?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How can an upper one receive coarseness?

M. Laitman: By a desire being added to it.

Student: From below?

M. Laitman: From below, it doesn't matter.

Student: What does it mean that it becomes like him? That adhesion is in what, in its coarseness?

M. Laitman: In equivalence of form.

Student: That the lower one wants to bestow to the upper one and the upper one wants to bestow to the lower one?

M. Laitman: Put it this way.

Student: So, how could there be a state that below the Sium he says that, the ending Malchut to Bina, the Malchut fell to the degree below it. How does something even exist below that because that's all of reality of the created being, this adhesion.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: How could there possibly be anything below this? What, greater coarseness? Maybe greater coarseness that he can use in order to bestow?

M. Laitman: Perhaps.

Student: Those are the Sefirot that remain below?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (18:34) But if I understand correctly, still something was left in the upper one because He goes down in order, like we always give the example of going down to the criminals and raise them up to correction.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And then he writes that it becomes one degree. So, it really is one or is it two degrees?

M. Laitman: No, basically, they are two that are as one.

Student: But inside he's still the upper one, the fact that he fell now?

M. Laitman:  If the conditions change, then yes.

Student: What promises the ascent back up because He's adhered to the lower one now?

M. Laitman: That the light comes and separates them.

Student: So, the light can free the upper degree that has fallen in Him?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (19:36) It seems that there's like a model where Malchut rises to Bina. It's a general Malchut that rises to Bina then there are degrees, then Bina lowers itself from the AHP to the lower one. So that happens parallel in all the 125 degrees? Or it happen each and every degree in stages while Malchut ascends to Bina?

M. Laitman: It happens in all the degrees. But the bestowal is present only on the degree of the connection between Malchut and Bina.

Student: Malchut connecting to Bina, I understand it's something more general. It's the Malchut of AK, that's what he's describing here, right?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And then there's 125 degrees that have to be corrected?

M. Laitman: No, I don't think so.

Student: I'd like to know what you think.

M. Laitman: That's too much. Will see soon.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (21:01) I want to ask about Malchut rising to Bina. It's like I'm missing a lot of details and to understand what the essence of that action is, if you could explain it.

M. Laitman: The ascent of Malchut to Bina, what's the difficulty?

Student: There's a restriction, what is this ascent comprised of, what ascends, what remains?

M. Laitman: Maybe you should ask some more.

Student: I'm trying to take this into the work and it's like I can't decipher this process.

M. Laitman: What is the connection between Malchut and Bina? There isn't, seemingly. When does the connection happen between them? Well?

Comment (Petah Tikva Center): (22:26) When Malchut feels helpless.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: That's what you were asking about.

M. Laitman: Okay, yes.

Comment (Petah Tikva Center): (22:40) Maybe we can say that we're speaking of a Partzuf that has Rosh, Toch, Sof. The ending, Malchut goes up to Bina of the Guf, and by this way, it allows the light to expand in the Partzuf. Now, there's light from Bina of Rosh to Bina of Guf in Tifferet but before that the light was only extended to Malchut of Rosh in the first restriction. And this allows it by the second restriction, the light can go deeper into the Guf, to Tifferet. That's the process.

M. Laitman: Smart.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (23:29) I wanted to ask what the friend asked, and I'll add: The ascent of Malchut to Bina is the stage exactly after completing the degree, after all the lights clothed in their vessels and cascaded one after the other. So, supposedly, the optimum state of the degree, then Malchut ascends to Bina, and they return to Katnut. So, that's exactly the transition stage, it doesn't work out in rationality, how can you suddenly fall from a whole state? But from Katnut, it's like the next stage of incorporation and bestowal, and that stage isn't clear enough. I agree with the friend.

M. Laitman: Okay, agreeing with the friend is not.

Comment (Petah Tikva Center): (24:23) I'll try to answer: The lower one ascending to the upper one only depends on the upper one, on his goodwill, on the upper one ascending back to its degree. That happens through the correction of the upper one that he did on Himself. So, only when the upper one rises, the lower one can rise with it if the upper one takes him with Him. And he'll do that only if he's in equivalence of form with Him. So, the question is, how do we recognize the upper one that ascended to us, and what's the work we're doing in order to attain adhesion with Him?

M. Laitman: The question is clear.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (25:24) Can I ask an additional question? If the upper one descends to the lower one and becomes like Him, what does He add to the lower one?

M. Laitman: Vessels of Galgalta ve Eynaim.

Student: But he becomes like Him, so, now he has vessels of the lower one. How is the vessels of Galgalta and Eynaim expressed in the vessels of the lower one if he has to be like Him, now?

M. Laitman: You're speaking about which?

Student: When the upper one goes down to the lower one, what is added into the lower one, what does it give him?

M. Laitman: To the lower one, Galgalta ve Eynaim are added.

Student: But is it felt in any kind of way? If it becomes like him, according to what I understood, he becomes the vessels, too. So where do the Galgalta ve Eynaim go?

M. Laitman: But they are nevertheless present in the degree.

Student: That's the question, in what form are they there because the next question is what allows the ascent back upward? Because I understand that by descending downwards, somehow he can help the lower one rise, but what does He give him that helped him?

M. Laitman: What the upper one gave to the lower one?

Student: Yes.

M. Laitman: In order to help the lower one rise?

Student: Yes.

M. Laitman: I'm not getting it, I'm confused.

Student: The upper one of the upper one, does He fall with him, downward?

M. Laitman: No, there's no connection between them.

Student: So, how? Everything has to rise upward.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: So, somehow the lower one and his upper one ascend, upward. So, now they rise to a place where the upper, upper one can take them even higher because it all has to go to Ein Sof.

M. Laitman: Perhaps.

Student: I'm trying to understand: If the upper one goes down to the lower one, what does it add or change in the system that it will eventually let the whole system rise back up? If we relate to what's written there that by the Torah and the prayers of the lower ones the process goes back up.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: So, in what does the upper one going down to the lower one, how does he awaken prayers and the Torah in them? Because I think that that is the answer, but I don't understand how the upper one helps the lower one engage in Torah and prayers.

M. Laitman: It shines for them, for those vessels, that it comes down to.

Student: By descending he takes something with Him, downward. What is that thing he takes, He adds somehow Galgalta Eynaim, it shines. It doesn't really become the lower one. He doesn't become like him.

M. Laitman: No, only the upper one, that's how I understand it. Soon.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (29:35) Is it right to say that somewhere that the ascent from Malchut to Bina happens only when Malchut really must have Bina and she cries out to it, when Malchut suffers.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: So, only then it can rise to Bina. So can we say it's like a remedy that Bina is a remedy for Malchut and Malchut doesn't understand that she needs Bina until she gets that remedy.

M. Laitman: I didn't understand.

Student: That until Malchut doesn't suffer.

M. Laitman: Bina is not wanted.

Student: Right, so Bina is like a remedy that only when Malchut suffers, she knows that.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (30:54) There's the lower degree and the higher degree. In what is the upper degree, upper?

M. Laitman: In that it has more vessels of bestowal.

Student: More, and we said when Malchut rises to Bina, so the empty vessels that incorporate with the lower degree, in what do they equalize with it?

M. Laitman: Again?

Student: In what do the vessels of the upper degree after Malchut ascends to Bina, the empty vessels of that degree. In what do they equalize with the vessels of the lower degree?

M. Laitman: In that they are empty.

Student: Also, the lower one, by that they're empty, by not having pleasure. So, how do they become one degree?

M. Laitman: The light shines from above and they begin to receive this illumination. And it equalizes them and raises them up to the one source.

Student: So, the connection between them is only when Malchut returns to her place.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How do they incorporate, in what do they incorporate before?

M. Laitman: What vessels are you talking about?

Student: The lower vessel ones of the upper one with the lower vessels.

M. Laitman: So, they are on the same degree?

Student: What does it mean to be in the same degree, in what is their equivalence of form?

M. Laitman: On the one hand, the upper one doesn't have upper vessels; and the lower one doesn't have the vessels of the lower one.

Student: Is there an action of the lower one to incorporate in those vessels?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What is our action so our upper one will be able to connect to it?

M. Laitman: You're asking about the vessels of the lower one, or upper one?

Student: What does the lower one need to do in order to incorporate in the empty vessels of the upper one as a preparation?

M. Laitman: The lower one should take upon itself the restriction. And then its vessels will be similar to the vessels of the upper one.

Student: When the lower one takes the restriction upon himself, it's on his own vessels. But how does it help him incorporate with the upper one's vessels if he restricts his own vessels?

M. Laitman: Because right now there are no vessels in the upper one, too.

Student: The lower one restricts his vessels of reception, right? And because he did that, a possibility opens up, according to what I heard, to incorporate in the vessels of reception of the upper one.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How, by restricting our lower vessels, does that help us connect to the vessels of the upper one?

M. Laitman: You are restricting your vessels?

Student: Yes.

M. Laitman: By this, you're bestowing upon the upper one. Because now, you belong to the upper one and you can belong to His degree.

Student: I don't understand.

M. Laitman: Again, what is the initial state?

Student: The initial state is when Malchut ascended to Bina in our vessels, and we need to incorporate in the lower vessels of the upper one.

M. Laitman: Who is Malchut?

Student: Our Malchut ascended to Bina, so we have empty vessels, we've made a restriction. Now, we need to incorporate in the lower vessels of the upper one.

M. Laitman: In other words, rise.

Student: Not rise yet, we just want to be in equivalence of form, then the upper one will raise us.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: What is this action of equivalence of form from the vessels of the upper one? What should we do in order to adhere to the upper one's vessels?

M. Laitman: Take upon ourselves the restriction.

Student: So, the fact that we're not using our vessels of reception, by this, we create a state that we don't, without an actual action, we adhere to the upper one.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (36:30) I want to continue on behalf of the upper one. One thing is clear, the upper one raises Malchut to Bina for the sake of the lower one, otherwise, he wouldn't do it. What does the lower one feel he needs when he does that? Why does He raise him?

M. Laitman: The upper one rises Malchut to Bina in order to allow the lower one to adhere in his NHY.

Student: What does he feel that the lower one lacks?

M. Laitman: Lacks?

Student: The lower one performed an action for it to happen. Now, what did the lower one do that motivates the upper one to raise Malchut to Bina?

M. Laitman: What the upper one, does?

Student: What the lower one, did.

M. Laitman: The lower one.

Student: That causes the upper one to raise Malchut to Bina.

M. Laitman: He empties His vessels then the lower one can't extend anything. That's why he raises his Malchut to Bina.

Student: Yes, but what did the lower one do for it to happen? How does the lower one summon it, invite it?

M. Laitman: They're connected to one another, the lower one is connected with the upper one.

Student: In advance, before the upper one raised Malchut to Bina?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes.

Student: So, what started the process, the upper one that raises? Or the lower one that asks, do for me?

M. Laitman: The upper one that raises his vessels.

Student: In other words, the ascent of Malchut to the upper one is the engine that moves this whole process.

M. Laitman: Let's say so.

Student: What's the trigger of the upper one that makes it do it?

M. Laitman: What motivates the upper one to do this action?

Student: Yes.

M. Laitman: What action?

Student: Raising Malchut to Bina.

M. Laitman: Raising Malchut to Bina, the degree becomes connected to the upper one.

Student: In other words, it wants to make the lower one connect to it.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: In what does the lower one feel in that state when the upper one suddenly raises its Malchut to Bina?

M. Laitman: The lower one feels that the upper one raises him on His hands, supposedly. Supposedly.

Student: Regardless of some action that it did before, it's just like a gift from above? It's a blessing from above just like that, all of a sudden? Or is it connected to some operation that the lower one did before?

M. Laitman: It's from the upper one, no. That the lower one, feels that by this he's doing a favor to the upper one, a plea to the upper one.

Student: So, it needs some prior preparation, the lower one?

M. Laitman: No, his preparation is already in him. By the upper one engaging in this with him, it's a proof to the lower one that the upper one is longing to him.

Student: But for its part, it needs to appreciate it, to identify it?

M. Laitman: As much as possible. It's like when you see, in our world, a baby doesn't need to be concerned that the mother will love him. He doesn't need to worry about that.

Student: Well, in our world, it's natural, but if the lower one doesn't make preparation, then the mother may raise it and it will see it as darkness, it will not like it.

M. Laitman: We'll talk about it, yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (41:49) Maybe to make it clearer, let's get back to the scrutiny: Before Malchut rises to Bina, she's filled with lights, all the vessels are in the lights. And then there is equivalence of form between the vessel, the Creator, and the light. Then, because there is equivalence of form, she feels shame, it's written in several places. If she's ashamed that she's receiving, she doesn't want to feel like a receiver. So, she decides to push away the lights, she pushes away the lights from Malchut to Bina. She remains with Hochma and Keter, where there are lights of Nefesh and Ruach, we read in the previous item. That she receives an additional illumination, called Yod. I don't know what it is, but I guess it's a force that allows her to overcome the feeling of deception, and again, she goes down. Then she receives once more the strength to receive light in vessels where she couldn't hold the lights before. And concerning the lower degree and upper degree, instead of a degree, we can say the previous state and the latter state.

M. Laitman: Okay.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (43:18) When the upper one descends to the lower one and then they rise back through an illumination from Hochma and Bina, he writes. What happens from Keter to Bina of the upper one, what light expands there? Is the new illumination that's coming expanding now in the whole Partzuf of the upper one?

M. Laitman: When?

Student: When Malchut rose to Bina, the light remained from Keter to Bina. Now Malchut, now the upper one descended to the lower one and raised it back up, But they arose through a new illumination from Hochma and Bina. So, what light now spreads in this whole Partzuf of the upper one, this new illumination, both of them together?

M. Laitman: I do not understand you.

Student: There is the present state of the Partzuf and there's light that is there. And then Malchut rises to Bina, the light remains in the present degree from Keter to Bina. That's the light of the present state but in the meantime, the upper one descended to the lower one and below Bina there's no light, there was a restriction. When they rise back up, when Malchut returns to the place, new light expands, as he writes, there is an illumination that comes and elevates the upper one, lower one back, and Malchut returns to her place. Which light, or in what way, does the light spread now in the Partzuf, what happens with what happened a minute ago? What happened with the light that was from Keter from Bina?

M. Laitman: What was there disappears, as much as I understand.

Student: Does the new illumination cancel, the illumination that was from Keter to Bina?

M. Laitman: Which light was from Keter to Bina?

Student: When Malchut rose to Bina, light remained in the degree. That light, does it stay there when Malchut returns to her place, as well?

M. Laitman: To her place, you mean to Bina?

Student: No, she returns from Bina and raises a lower one with her. I'll try to read for a minute. “He writes, when Malchut became one degree with Bina, with the lower one during their ascent, and they became adhered, they take it with them, and when they return to the degree, and they raise a lower degree to the upper degree.”

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Now, here, the minute they go back, rise back up, what light spreads in the whole Partzuf? Only the illumination of Hochma and Bina?

M. Laitman: Why illumination?

Student: Because this is what they drew, by this there was a return to the place.

M. Laitman: Why not the light of Hochma and Bina in only the illumination?

Student: This is what he writes, that there is only an illumination of Hochma and Bina, that raises, returns Malchut to her place, together with the lower one.

M. Laitman: So, what are you asking?

Student: I'm asking, what light, or in what light, or in what way, the light spreads in the Partzuf of the upper one?

M. Laitman: In what way?

Student: Yes, because it's not clear what happens with the light that was from Keter to Bina. Did it disappear, was it changed?

M. Laitman: But now the light is much stronger.

Student: Okay, so the question is how is it a stronger light? How does a stronger light that was before, and was before, come to the degree now?

M. Laitman: Of course, why not?

Student: What enables a stronger light to come?

M. Laitman: Do you understand what he's asking?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (48:03) It seems like what's missing in the explanation is what we learned. That there is a process of records and couplings. Let's say now there are records of Gadlut that come to Rosh of SAG, and it begins a new process, and we don't mention it. So, it seems like pieces in the story are missing, hence from where does this strong light come, that's the question.

M. Laitman: I don't understand what you're saying.

Comment (Petah Tikva Center): (48:46) There's an answer to it: In item 19, he writes, “After the lower ones raise Mayin Nukvin, when they extend the illumination from Hochma and Bina, which takes Bina from AK and then Bina and TM to the degree below, rise back up from there, to their degrees as in the beginning, and since she already has five Kelim KHBTM, in the degree, five lights return, and clothed in them, Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Haya and Yechida.”

M. Laitman: That's okay.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (49:19) A different question: Toward the end of the item 20 below, he writes, “Thus it has been clarified how the ascent of Malchut to Bina induced a connection between the degrees, so each degree can rise to the degree above it.” So, the question is the lowest one, when it rises to its upper one, does it mean that the upper one also rises to its upper one and this way all the way to?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, yes, that's a ladder of the degrees.

Student: That it's one system?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (49:58) I also wanted to ask, in each Partzuf is there is Galgalta Eynaim and AHP, right?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: When Malchut makes a restriction on her AHP, what we call the second restriction, right? What does it mean that she performs a restriction, those desires in which she cannot bestow, she now increases the importance of desires to bestow. She asks the upper one for the desires to bestow that He has, and she doesn't. Is this not the right direction? Maybe I'm not explaining myself, correctly, maybe it's also a mistake, but it's as if we have Galgalta Eynaim and AHP in Malchut. Now, she makes a restriction on her AHP to complete ten Sefirot, she now needs a new AHP. That's why she takes the AHP of the upper one, so we get the opposite state. Where now in the Partzuf we have ten Sefirot, Galgalta Eynaim and AHP but the Galgalta Eynaim of  the Partzuf, of the lower one, and the AHP of the Partzuf is of the upper one. It's a bit like, if it's correct to say, that when the embryo, before it's born, its head overturns and it’s downwards. Is this connected because it's reminiscent, this depiction?

M. Laitman: Okay.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (51:38) I wanted to ask if besides the change that Malchut undergoes, do her vessels of reception change as well in this process? Malchut grows stronger through Bina, receives forces of bestowal, returns to her place, adds vessels of reception, builds a complete Partzuf with them. The question is do the vessels of reception also change or does only she go through a change?

M. Laitman: Only she goes through changes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (52:22) To continue the friend’s question: When the lower one has to make a restriction, how does it perform a restriction? Is it an act of the lower one, or the upper one?

M. Laitman: Again?

Student: The lower one has to make a restriction to be incorporated in the upper one. How does it do it, is it its action, an action from above, the restriction?

M. Laitman: Restriction is an action from above.

Student: The need of the upper one to descend to the lower one, is it for the purpose of equivalence of form because that's the only way to raise the lower one up?

M. Laitman: You might say that it's in order to reach equivalence of form with the upper one. We'll elaborate on it more.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (53:31) Malchut rises to Bina, that's after the restriction of the lower one. The lower one comes to a place of Gadlut, and by this, brings down the upper one to the state of Katnut, can we say this?

M. Laitman: The lower one reaches Gadlut, and by this, the upper one reaches Katnut?

Student: Correct, yes.

M. Laitman: I don't understand that.

Student: There's a feeling that the lower one, when he raises the records, root in one, to the upper one, and meets the lights of the upper one, which is in Katnut, which also root one from above downwards. They add one to the other.

M. Laitman: Does anybody understand?

Student: It's as if it is direct light and reflected light in phase four in the beginning, when they added lights to each other.

M. Laitman: I don't understand, try and explain it to them, later.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (55:03) In our state, is it the same process in order to achieve spiritual attainment on the first degree? When the AHP, in our ascent in corporeality to spirituality, does the process work in the same way?

M. Laitman: It's similar to it.

Student: Can we say that we need to restrict our AHP in order to adhere to the AHP of the Rav?

M. Laitman: I don't know.

Reader: We can move to Matan Torah, and there's also a question we wanted to ask you.

M. Laitman: So, ask, who knows how long it'll take.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (56:00) We wanted to ask with relation to our friends up north. The situation in northern Israel, right now, is basically on fire, there are rockets, there are many fires. There are many friends of ours have problems. Yesterday, they appealed to our support in prayer and thought, and maybe afterwards, they will need some sort of physical help, maybe in terms of housing because they might be evacuated. So, we wanted to hear from you, with what prayer, what thoughts can we guard and give them confidence?

M. Laitman: Prayer, for sure, thought, for sure, help, for sure, to such an extent that let them come here, they should come. And as much as we can, we'll help them. Let them come into this building or whatever we can.

Student: In addition to the physical help we will give, what internal help can we give them?

M. Laitman: Except for prayer, there's nothing to do.

Student: What is the prayer?

M. Laitman: That the Creator will watch over them. That they will have fortune and support from the upper one by being kept safe from harm.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (58:00) Do you see an end to the war in Israel, to the situation we found ourselves in?

M. Laitman: That's something we have to ask ourselves, when will we be okay? Then the state will also disappear and not that it depends on the Hamas or anybody.

Student: So, as long as there is war in Israel, and the situation is only deteriorating here, I have to take it on myself?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What can I add, what can I do today that will make the situation improve?

M. Laitman: Explain it to everybody, to all the citizens of Israel. That we can take care of our state and better this state by each and every one being concerned about the other. Connect through love, if that won't happen, we can be in such states for a long time.

Reader: (59:53) Announcements. We'll end with a song.
