Part 1 Lesson on the topic of “Continuing the Convention with an Ascent”

Hello, we're continuing the Convention in Ascension. We'll read from the source excerpt from our document. You can find the material in our websites Sviva Tova and also in the Arvut system. You can ask questions live or through the websites. All those who ask questions in the hall are asked to hold the microphone close to the mouth and speak clearly into the microphone.

Reading Excerpt # 12: (00:57) Baal HaSulam. Letter No. 18

One who assumes the complete burden of the kingdom of heaven finds no labor in the work of the Creator and can therefore adhere to the Creator day and night, in light and in darkness. The Geshem [“rain,” but also “corporeality”]—which is created in coming and going, changes and exchanges—will not stop him since the Keter, which is Ein Sof, illuminates to all completely equally. The fool—who walks under a flood of preventions that pour on him from before and from behind—says to all that he does not feel the cessation and the lack of Dvekut [adhesion] as a corruption or iniquity on his part.

Had he sensed it, he would certainly have strained to find some tactic to at least be saved from the cessation of Dvekut, whether more or less. This tactic has never been denied of anyone who sought it, either as in “the thought of faith” or as in “confidence,” or as in “pleas of his prayer,” which are suitable for a person specifically in the narrow and pressured places, for even a thief in hiding calls on the Creator. For this reason, it does not require Mochin de Gadlut to keep the branch from cutting from its root.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (03:22) I understand that all our lives are in prayers. It turns out that the prayer of the Kabbalist is only that I know what I'm talking about in that moment. But the prayers begin without any response, without an answer. What is the correctness of the prayers at this moment?

M. Laitman: What we need is to understand that in receiving the burden of heaven, we want to be included in the holy work in such a manner that, to the extent that it will be clear to us where we are standing, where we should be, and what are we lacking in order to reach a place in the correct state. Therefore, anyone who receives any interruptions on the way, he must understand that it is just like Baal HaSulam is telling us, it is a burden through the thought of creation, the thought of belief, faith, or through security, or through prayer,

but he needs to be ready for it.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (06:49) What is the meaning in the word confidence?

M. Laitman: Confidence, meaning that I am confident, and I am sure that I am now receiving what is felt in me from the Creator.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (07:47) Can you explain the last sentence? That even the thief in hiding calls on the Creator, for this reason it does not require mocking the Gadlut to keep the branch from cutting from its root.

M. Laitman: Even the thief in hiding calls on the Creator, For this reason it does not require mocking the Gadlut, which means that he does not have a need for more of the upper light to come to him to protect him, that the root of the Creator will not stop in him.

Student: What does it mean to take upon himself the burden of the kingdom of heaven?

M. Laitman: The burden of heaven means that I bend my head down in front of the control of the Creator, of the above, and then I am ready to walk on the path of the Creator.

Student: Is it a one-time action, or do I have to do it every time? In every action I have to do what the Creator wants and not what I want?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (10:04) What does it mean to find a tactic? I hear a lot about it, and it's also written here in the article.

M. Laitman: What does it mean, tactics? Tactics means an action that brings me to a correct action. This is how it is. The action of help.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (11:28) How do we understand the work of worship? How do we understand the spiritual work towards the Creator?

M. Laitman: To understand the work? This is what we study all the time, how to understand it more and more. We need to understand that whatever we receive, we receive it directly from the Creator. Everything He says is in order for us to do it in the connection between us, to implement it in the connection between us, and this way we come near Him.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (13:10) How does a person complete day and night to be as one day? How to work in the world of actions with these two opposites?

M. Laitman: This is not important. It's either we come near to the Creator through a state that is called a day, or we come near to Him in a state which is called night. Either in the day or in the night, we need to request help from above, that the upper force will help us to be closer to the Creator.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (14:18) During the first lesson of the convention, and also in this excerpt, we read that there is no more natural thing than connection with the Creator, because He is the nature, and even the thief in hiding calls upon the Creator. Can we even transfer this message to the world, and not in faith under reason, but within reason or even above reason?

M. Laitman: No. Depict to yourself that we are in a state where the Creator, from His degree, from His height sends us signals, and we cannot in the correct way understand or  read what He says, but the only thing we can do is to ask from Him for any changes that are happening in us to draw us to Him, and then we can start to feel Him, to understand Him. This way we come into connection with Him.

Student: So, the way that the religion does it is not good. It's only the method of connection between people that can give you the sensation of the Creator.

M. Laitman: Yes, the feeling of the Creator is something that we can only reach when we walk in the path of the Kabbalah, and all those paths are built when the person makes  himself get used to the idea that he will believe that He is an upper force, and the person belongs to it.

Student: So, without connecting in the Ten, without the practical methodology, we cannot bring it to the world.

M. Laitman: No, this is how nature is built. Only through Tens we can come closer to the Creator.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (17:33) The same fool that the article speaks about is really talking about myself, that I find myself in such a state in which the demand for more connection with the friend, more love and bestowal, I do not discover it after the convention, as if there is a feeling, maybe even a feeling of satisfaction from the work we've done. There is no demand for more connection. That's the bad. How to ask correctly?

When I'm in Moscow, for example, there you feel the pressure of the nations of the world, that they simply make you run to the connection. Maybe it's different, but my conclusion is specifically the nations of the world are the ones who are pushing us towards connection. Here I don't have the pressure of the nations of the world. Here I'm as if I'm a tomato in a greenhouse. I feel great. And there is abundance for everyone. We're at the end of correction. We can come out of it. You either have to come out of the nations of the world…

M. Laitman: No, we do not need to do that.

Student: How do we come out of the state of the fool?

M. Laitman: Only through the ascent to the Creator. Our only problem is that we are not ascending to Him. We are not asking from Him to ascend us to Him. And this is our problem.

Student: Can we understand it literally as a prayer that will elevate us from the laziness?

M. Laitman: Yes, exactly in those words.

Student: Give us a demand for connection? What? And that's enough?

M. Laitman: You can make up more words.

Student: Meaning, our deficiency, our lack is that we are missing connection. That's what we're asking for.

M. Laitman: Yes, demand.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (20:20) How do we learn to understand the signals that the Creator sends?

M. Laitman: You need to reveal it inside of you. The Creator is treating each and every one of us in every moment, and He builds it anew. All we have left is to aim ourselves that we will reveal the Creator when He turns to us. That's it.

Student: How do we immediately come out to a connection with Him? Not when we already have changes within us and we turn to Him, but immediately, that our first reaction is in His time.

M. Laitman: It depends on how much we want to be in connection with Him, how much we want to ascend to Him, to understand Him, that He will fill us even more, and will reveal Himself in us.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (21:45) I see in Israel, the religious people, they are born with the Creator, they live with Him and continue to live with Him. I only discovered the Creator when I was 50 years old. He is far away from me, who knows how much.

How can I come to a state that there is no one else besides Him, that He is good and benevolent? How to start to love this, the way they look at Him and bow to Him and live with Him? Or am I wrong about something?

M. Laitman: No, you are not wrong, but the point is that there is a big difference between your path and their path. With you, the Creator pulls you gradually.

Student: The society, my society that I'm in, and I love it so much, and I'm concerned about it a lot, and I'm asking the Creator a lot to not throw me out of this society. That's what brings me. Is that the society?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (23:19) After the convention, the more I do something towards the Creator, the more He pressures my heart and it’s felt in an unpleasant manner. How do I come out of it to joy, because the feelings are stronger than the mind. In my mind, I cannot convince myself completely. I can't even be here in complete joy, and I feel as if I'm in work, and to come out of it, it feels like death. And so, the state that's in between, is that the trepidation, the fear? Or is it something on the way?

M. Laitman: It is on the way to spiritual fear.

Student: So, simply to continue?

M. Laitman: To continue until you receive the correct direction, how to come near to the Creator.

Student: I have this great opportunity to say to you, oh, that I felt this convention, and my heart came closer to you, and not just to you, to all of Bnei Baruch. I felt emotions as if we're relatives, and there's an atmosphere as if everybody's making so much effort here. I would like to wish you success, that we will succeed in this point, in this opportunity for connection.

M. Laitman: Everything will succeed.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (25:25) Sometimes we reveal the evil, and alongside it we feel the mercies of the Creator. But sometimes it happens the other way around, that we don't feel the mercies of the Creator. So, what determines the manner in which the evil is revealed?

M. Laitman: It determines what state we want to reach. Therefore, we receive from Him beautiful influences or bad influences. But on the contrary, we need that everything we receive is from the Creator, but we need to respond out of our connection.

Question (Italy): (27:01) The night is our distance from the Creator. And our desire is opposite to that, to specifically be adhered to Him. So, how do we accept the night as the day, as something that is good?

M. Laitman: If I know that day and night are coming from the Creator to me, then I need to try to feel the day as the day, and the night as also the day, and they will become one day. In this form, I will reveal my real point, where I should be.

Question (Women MAK 104): (28:40) There are two desires, one of the Creator and one that belongs to me. There are states where my desire overcomes or deletes the Creator's desire, and you automatically perform your desire. How do we reach the force of overcoming and only use the Creator's desire?

M. Laitman: To ask that by your desire you will change.

Question (Women Italy): Prayer levels us all and opens doors for everyone. What kind of security does prayer give?

M. Laitman: That we are connected to the Creator, no matter in what states that are going through us or over us.

Question (Ukraine 2): (30:17) We can connect everything to the Creator if we are holding the group and the friends.  By us holding the friends, are  we coming closer to the Creator.

M. Laitman: Yes. Yes.

Question (Hadera 1): (31:35) We can connect two opposites and to accept it in joy?

M. Laitman: Yes. Yes, this is what we need to do.

Question (Women MAK 56): (31:43) How can I hear, feel, and understand what the Creator is demanding from me? What does it mean to demand from me?

M. Laitman: If you cannot hear the comment from the Creator, what can I tell you?

Student: So, you need to hear it precisely?

M. Laitman: Yes, there is no clearer perception in a person than the perception of the Creator.

Question (Lithuania 1): (32:37) What is the method of the work in the Ten that we can understand and feel? How can we push the ones that don't know the wisdom of Kabbalah and to interest them and to advance them? And the main thing is not to spoil them, but it doesn't matter to spoil or not to spoil, but the main thing is to tell them about the Kabbalah.

M. Laitman: Have a look at what we publish, how we turn to people. It might teach you something.

Question (Women MAK 22): (33:37) This congress was very special for us. We are a virtual Ten, and for the first time we all came together, for the first time in four years. We would like to thank the Creator and to you, Rav, and to everyone, and to tell our whole Kli and to pass to all Kli and to you our love from our hearts. We came from four countries, and we overcome big disturbances to be together, and we love you very much, and we bring you love.

M. Laitman: Thank you to you, too.

Question (Women MAK 53): (34:40) When I ask for help from the Almighty, I don't connect directly to the Creator, although I understand it is from the Creator. What is the difference between the Creator and the Upper Force?

M. Laitman: There is no difference. It's the same thing. It's only you that invents some sort of a difference, but truly there is no difference.

Student: What is the upper force?

M. Laitman: The force of the Creator.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (35:23) In this congress, is that the correct scheme, that I walk in the woods, pick mushrooms, and the Creator helps me, and I always talk to Him, and then my work starts in the Ten. I connect, come to the congress, and then again go back to the mushrooms. Should we always find tactics to come to the Creator in everything, in the spirit, in the Ten? Is that the Kabbalist's path?

M. Laitman: Yes, that's the correct scheme.

Student: Another question. From the beginning of the congress, I had strength to raise a prayer, and afterwards I got dried up, but relaxed.

M. Laitman: Don't worry about it. This state will move on, and a new state will come.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (36:53) The Creator slowly brings us to Him through the society, and we understand that it's through us. How does the Creator bring Israel to Him? Is there any difference?

M. Laitman: There is no difference. Israel is simply called the desire that is aimed towards the Creator. It shall go directly to the Creator. That's it.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (37:41) There is a very interesting feeling from the congress, because in each moment I wanted to close my eyes, and to be with my own Ten. I wasn't expecting this type of feeling. Does the connection in the Ten have more force, more power than the connection here, when we are together?

M. Laitman: These are completely different things. The connection in the Ten is your private connection. It's personal with your root. And the connection here, with all the people, all the people who are present here, that's already a connection which is broad and not going up. You need both. I'm happy to hear that there is a desire to connect with the Ten awakening you.

Student: Another question. How do we pass the correct intention to the center of the Ten, in order that we will succeed to connect the branches and the roots?

M. Laitman: I think that if we follow according to the articles of Rabash and Baal HaSulam, eventually we will reveal all those connections between us and the Creator, and we will reveal that within it we exist.

Student: Two more words for gratitude. Thanks to my role in the Ten, I asked you a question in the whole last of the year, and I'm truly impressed that there is a library of knowledge that strengthens the faith.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (40:50) When we pray for a friend, how can we know what is important for her?

M. Laitman: How can we know what's important for her? We can know for sure that's important for her connection with us and connection with the Creator. There is no point asking about it. That's something you can be certain, that that's what she wants, and that's what she needs to receive. That's it. That's why we can pray for others.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (41:35) The first sentence of the excerpt we just read, says: One who assumes the complete burden of the kingdom of heaven finds no labor in the work of the Creator, and can therefore adhere to the Creator, day and night, in light and in darkness. That’s a really big deal. Is that something that’s available to us now in our current work that we do with the Tens?

M. Laitman: Not yet, but we're close to it. That, the first degree, the closest to us, will already make this state clearer to us.

Question (Nikolaev-Sochi): (43:27) There is one desire to adhere to the Creator, and the prayer is, Creator, please give us the strength for bestow and love. Is this the correct desire for a prayer?

M. Laitman: Completely correct. Absolutely correct.

Student: And the whole world can take it as a blessing?

M. Laitman: For now, yes. Later on, there will be some new nuances that will appear.

Question (Women MAK 25): (44:19) There is a feeling that there is a new degree between us. Now, after the Congress, what should be the mutual screen that will hold our mutual connection?

M. Laitman: You need to think about your mutual common connection, and in such a way to want the revelation of the Creator within it.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (45:00) Sometimes there is a state, when we read an excerpt in the Congress, where the heart opens up so much, that it's almost exploding.

Is there any connection to the opening of heavens?

M. Laitman: No, no, not yet, no. But it's on the way.

Question (Poland): (45:32) What do we do to feel a strong desire to connect and not feel fear or any hardship in this work?

M. Laitman: It is all depending on how much strength or forces you invest in it. According to that, you will feel to where you are drawn.

Question (Moscow 1): (46:23) How can we say if I receive or bestow towards the friends? Or should we look at it as a general level?

M. Laitman: We still don't have such clear borders, but in the close coming time we'll start to feel it.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (47:11) I scrutinize what is happening in Lo Lishma, and my question that I ask is, what is this work? What am I going to get out of it? How can I answer this question? Is this the place for a request?

M. Laitman: There's almost never a place for a private personal request. Once you've ascended to the degree of a general request, then after that you can have a personal request.

Student: How do I correctly answer this question?

M. Laitman: You can try to ask it, nevertheless.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (48:13) For the first time, four of us from the Ten are here in Israel which I felt was a gift from the Creator, because it hasn't happened for a long time. But equally, we spend a lot more time than we would have spent, because we meet virtually all the time. But suddenly I had this fear and trepidation that came upon me, because for the first time I felt the Ten very differently from the way I felt them virtually, and I had this big responsibility. I felt it, that it's a big responsibility, and I wondered what to do with that feeling.

M. Laitman: Continue, and everything will be all right. You have a beautiful future, and everything will work out.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (49:48) In order to achieve the first spiritual degree, we need to awaken a certain amount of Reshimot, or will it happen through the correction of the souls that are already awakened?

M. Laitman: Through the correction, they will already be awakened.

Student: In a previous Congress, you said that we are the Creator's only hope, and I feel more and more that it is like that, and thanks to you, the hope  of the Creator is getting stronger and stronger.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (50:53) In this particular Congress, we felt that there is a real connection in our prayer, a real prayer in our connection. And then there was a prayer, but if before there was a connection, just like the child in your heart, so here there is this real life. Are there signs that it is correct?

M. Laitman: All this slowly is forming, and soon you will start to feel it within you.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (51:51) When we read Baal HaSulam and Rabash, and prepare ourselves for the lesson, there are all kinds of opposite revelations in the Ten, and you are happy to reveal it, and if the Creator wants that we will stay in a state of not incompleteness. Now I heard from the article that to ask that in our desire we will change what comes down on us from above. So. it turns out that I have to agree with that the state of incompleteness that has been revealed, and to agree that He is good and does good, and He sent it to me in order for me to advance, right?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (53:01) Did I feel correctly that the connection in the Ten, that you are always talking about, is a connection in intention and a prayer?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Brazil): (53:31) Is the evil inclination in us the reason of the rejection to mutual guarantee?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes.

Student: So, from our side we understand that we have rejection to connection.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: At the time that we understand that we have rejections in connection, is it in that moment the upper world opens up?

M. Laitman: This is not going to happen now, but it will happen. Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (54:50) If I heard correctly, the connection in the Ten is the connection with our roots. In the past we went through many Tens, so what does it mean about our roots?

M. Laitman: That we have changed Tens doesn't mean that we are disconnecting from one, and come and connect with the third, or the second, or so forth. No, it's only by us growing, advancing towards a true composite or assembly, and we are coming to a state where we are going to start to feel ourselves in one system, and within this system, each and every one will see himself, and see his place, his attributes, and this is how we will grow. That’s it.

Question (Women Petah Tikva Center): (56:10) Today, the day after the congress, I wanted to think about all the friends that are not in Bnei Baruch right now. Do we need to pray for them that in life they are all going to come back, and will become part of Bnei Baruch again?

M. Laitman: I agree with you.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (57:04) In the mutual request, we are doing the Ramchal duty in our Ten. Since 2004, when you gave us this mission for the first time, we still hold it; we are still doing it. It becomes part of our routine, and it turns out from what you said today, that the connection with this prayer comes up every hour, and I cannot not ask, because tomorrow I am flying back. When you talk about the prayer, I always write it down, and for me it is very important.

How many times during this congress, you said that in every moment we have to pray for the friends, every second we have to pray for the friends, and every time I hear it, I feel like I am in a dead end. How can I come to a point where it becomes so strong that the Ramchal duty becomes... When does it turn from impossible to possible? And if you attach it to times, certain times in the day, or some other way?

M. Laitman: I didn't understand; can you give an example? For example, at the morning prayer, noon, evening, it will be something similar, permanent.

Student: We are doing it three times a day when we meet with the Ten. The question is,  how do we implement your advice in each and every moment, in every degree, that the Kabbalists reached in the past.

M. Laitman: If this will be your permanent desire, this is what will be. This is what will happen in action, what will materialize. Permanent desire for what?

Student: For connection, for intention towards the Creator? So, the method of solution is in connection?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: You said in the beginning of the lesson that we need to ask for it. So, there is always a need for prayer, there is always a deficiency for prayer, and always to request?

M. Laitman: Yes, to ask about everything, ask about everything.

Student: So, always to be in a constant prayer?

M. Laitman: Yes, constant. Constant, yes.

Student: And then we'll always have the connection with the Ten?

M. Laitman: Yes, if the Creator will answer, then yes. We've come to the end of the lesson.
