Morning Lesson April 8, 2021
1. Rav’s Introduction: We still continue and of course soon we will finish with these excerpts that talk about connection in unity. We will have to repeat it every once in a while but not at the same intensity, the same pace, the same quantity as we do it now. The thing is a person doesn't want to remember. He doesn't portray the system of Adam before him all the time, the system that includes all the worlds all the souls of the Creator who is working from within it. Therefore if we don't feel that we have to go inside the system then we are seemingly outside of creation, imaginary world, rather only when I imagine myself in the 10 the connection in it I see all the corrections and in the connection of everyone has one I see the end of correction called one receives one. Then the vessel in which we connect together reveals the Creator. There will be one man and one heart like the Creator or one and so on then we come to the true correction and we don't deviate from the past and replace the wisdom of truth with some smart ideas or opinions or beliefs, religion. Things that humanity is always changing it for and why is it changing it for those things? Because it is very easy to work on something that does not belong to the correction of the soul it has a feeling in its reason its all clear except the work that you have to add each time he stole that you don't ask, that is not clear. That's why this work is difficult but this is the truth, where it is called the work of the Creator. Whereas all the form's attitude towards the Creator and creation comes from man's intellect from thinking about it by himself and not receiving it from above from the Kabbalist. That's why he doesn't need to change himself, rather it is enough for him to work with this mind and feelings and he finds assurances for himself and continues. This is how we make progress. Hence this work is daily work when we are in this struggle with our ego where we subconsciously repel and reject everyone and leave ourselves that in the center, righteousness and the important thing is to be incorporated with the friends, feel that you disappear there, you expect the Creator to reveal Himself in to dwell over you, only in our connection in the 10 we come to the state of ten parts you'd cave…., called the name of the Creator and then we'll begin to feel how the Creator conceals Himself there and reveals Himself there. This is our pass, that's why the work, the important thing is how much we support, we help, we provide each other with the right example, it's extremely important. It's not like in this world about helping one another rather by this we're connecting the parts of the broken soul and to the extent this is soul is inclined towards connection then more and more life forces are revealed to be working on us, then we begin to say that this process of ours is indeed the correct process, whereas much as we connect, although it's very difficult, it's hated, its undesirable, there's nothing that repels a person from what he needs to do to connect emotionally, internally, heartfelt connection with the other, because here he needs to reveal the result of the shattering and as much as he can connect to friend, it's not the kind of connection that were used to from this world just to be close to one another rather to be in mutual bestowal so the Creator will be found between us. Then we will see what spirituality demands of us, the states that appear are truly above our nature. We don't want them, we reject them most of the states come to us through extremely, unpleasant feelings, feelings of fear anxiety, instability, insecurities, lack of confidence, very various emotions, that the will to receive awakens in us because He feels as we move in that direction, that he is losing everything, that he has this emptiness that we feel makes room for the light of Hasadim, mercy, spiritual form that has to be here, the light of faith so I don't want to live by the force of corporeal knowledge but I want to live by the force of spiritual faith meaning the Creator should fill all those empty spaces that I feel that I'm lacking in my brain and heart and understanding and feeling and everything that I've got that the Creator specifically will fill all those spaces if we continue in this way, it will happen. We have to learn what is done I'm certain that each and every one, to some extent, feels what is how all the feelings and intellect disappears from him and then he has to demand it from the Creator or the Creator to fulfill everything, that it's not for nothing of ceiling confidence the foundation on which he used to establish our life and reality or attitude towards life. Rather we will demand it of Him so He will fulfill all of this and I want to exist in the connection with Him not by myself. I have confidence and or anything I need from Him. All those foundations disappear from my heart and my mind. I want the Creator to fill all of that and come close to Him. I want to feel how advanced I am and how I am getting fulfilled. Of course we have great work between the friends in the group. We have to build the system of the ten Sefirot, each one inside of Him. This is a problem. How do we do it? if I imagine that I am searching for my brother's I have to find my group the parts of my soul, I need to try and connect them and that's how I am searching then I shall find. Because these things are ready they used to be they came out of that state so we buy our effort will reconnect them.
2. S. (15:42) What does it mean, that if...
R. When I connect, all my friends so they are together in my heart, my perception of life and reality will be through them. Not through my corporeal or physical senses and intellect which I feel my will to receive, rather how much I am capable of connecting in me, my connections with the friends. And through these connections, I would like to begin to feel the spiritual reality. Then I see specifically connecting to them, in such a way where each shall help his friend, I come to a new perception. Through this network, the matrix, this system called 10 Sefirot. And then I begin to see that everything depends on how much I connect to them, I awaken them to connect, how much I am devoted to them, connect to them and how much I would like to obtain the upper force, the Creator who dwells in them, is concealed and revealed in them to the extent they can be connected correctly, together, in my eyes.

3. R. Baal HaSulam does not exaggerate, he does not use euphemisms and pretty words; it's not customary to speak this way in the wisdom of Kabbalah. He says, ‘by this, the love of friends' right to exist depends,’ meaning spiritual existence depends only on the connection between us. And as much as we don't want to hear about it, we reject it and lower its importance from 100% to 0, this is the truth. Our form does not change, we are in the broken vessel and according to the broken vessel, we feel from all the spiritual reality, we feel only what is called ‘a tiny light.’ Enough to sustain a tiny bit of life from which we will be able to develop ourselves and the vessel of bestowal, then the light which is all in order to bestow will also be revealed in this vessel until we get to ‘He and His Name are One.’ Hence our entire near to come success is measured on this vessel -- it all depends on our effort.
4. S. (21:24) Baal HaSulam says leave your ‘imaginary engagements,’ to what does he relate?
R. He relates to all the thoughts and desires you have about doing every action except for the action of connection. After all, we need to only yearn for the work on the connection between us in order to reveal the Creator in him, that's it -- one line. Reveal the connection between us such that in it, the Creator will be revealed, that's it.
5. S. (22:25) What does ‘real love’ mean, and what does it mean the 10?
R. True love means that we are in the bestowal, true bestowal. As much as we can attain it, that's what we need. Accordingly we reveal the Creator, that’s it. Love is the force of bestowal a person discloses to others.
2nd reading Excerpt 1 (23:15 - 24:18)
6. R. “Then you will see and the pallet will take.” Meaning you will discover, openly, the Creator in our minds, our brains, our hearts, how He appears in our vessels, completely, according to the measure of the corrected vessels that we're able to present to Him for His revelation. It all depends on the connection between us. We’ve gone through many states. We learned a lot from the wisdom of Kabbalah, about a person's spirituality. Everything that belongs to beginners in order to advance and begin to work on it in such a way that we will be able to connect the states that we’re learning about, states we’re feeling. To do that, we need to reach the practical wisdom of Kabbalah, applied wisdom, meaning we will be able to carry-out actions of connection between us and discover, reveal the upper light as it enters the kli, expands in it, performs various actions in it, and it's all according to our work, our connection.
7. S. (26:11) How can I take it upon myself, check myself, that I am properly connected to my friends? How can I control this worry in me?
R. You should do what is upon you to do and give them the right example from your spiritual work, that's what we need to do. Raise your request to the Creator to help you with your tendency to connect with the friends because in the connection between you, the Creator is concealed and you wish to reveal Him in order to bring Him contentment. Everything is in a single action but it starts from this tendency, this disposition towards the friends because here this is where we stop advancing, typically, and we are looking for some alternative route seemingly and then instead of connection and love, we discover hate because it's more comfortable and more natural. Then we leave the 10, we move away from the goal and think that we are doing good to ourselves, that's a big problem. But it won't do a person any good nevertheless, if not now, then later through more difficult, more demanding states, he’ll have to come back and carry out his action of connection in the vessel of Adam HaRishon.
8. S. (28:19) What should we understand in the work in the 10 from the verse ‘love your friend is yourself, literally.’ What does it mean, ‘literally?’
R. ‘Literally,’ I need to imagine that I'm connected to my friends and in general with everyone in the world. The souls are all connected into one system and in this system, we come to the force that develops in us, the one force and that’s our work. Think about it more and understand and reply to yourself, I don't have any words for it. We cannot convey feelings to one another. The spiritual feeling does not fit into our corporeal words.
S. It sounds like, literally, is the same as in corporeality, it means that is just to begin?
R. Of course you should begin.
9. S. (29:54) What signs do we have that we're doing the right thing?
R. If we wish to help one another with the force of bestowal above individual egos of each and every one, then we are moving towards the correct connection. If I just connect to others and there’s an understanding between us, a feeling -- it's little kids in a little, small gang or like grown-ups in various connections, it's not considered spiritual connection. The spiritual connection is only considered as such when it's above the resistance, and with us, the moment there is a minimal level of resistance, we run away from connection. Rather I need to see things differently, I need to see the friend as having the same goal as mine and a certain rift is revealed between us. I need to build connections above this gap that exists between us, meaning the common goal obligates us to build a system of connections. This is called ’love covers all transgressions,’ otherwise, there will be no connection. Only when it is established on top of rejection, repulsion, that's how we need to see things. Where we are not coming to connect ourselves here in some beautiful system, we're not kids who are playing together with friends. No, we're not friends and as much as we advance we will be even less and less close to one another. As the students of Rabbi Shimon who wanted to kill one another. Daily they felt this hate, mutual hatred to such an extent that they are distant -- they don't feel or understand one another -- but they all had one goal to reach the revelation of the Creator through the connection. And then they saw the repelling force between them as the force that interferes and intervenes and they did this work above this force and turned it into the constructive force. This is called, ‘love covers all transgressions.’ We need to look at it with both of our eyes, right and left, and see how we move forward.
10. S. (33:45) You said to a friend that true love is mutual bestowal. What is that mutual bestowal between us?
R. I wish to help everyone in order to reach the common goal, and I give them all my heart so we would connect in such a way that the Creator will be revealed and be delighted by us.
11. S. What is the joy in the difficulty revealed in the work of the Creator?
R. It is joy from rising above the disturbances and then to the extent we have disturbances, we discover how much joy, attainment and closeness we have.
S. If in the work of the Creator, there are periods where it is not difficult, does it mean he is not working?
R. It's not considered work, if it's not difficult
12. S. (35:09) In the excerpt, Baal HaSulam advises to devise proper tactics towards our ego but it’s tactics towards ego, if I understand correctly. So if I’m inside my ego, how can I find tactics that contradict my nature?
R. This is not for you yet. Simply walk, go against the ego as much as possible, towards connection. Love
13. S. (35:46) In the 10 there are stronger connections, more or less, depending on the friend. Is it enough to settle for this state or do we need to strengthen the connection through actions toward connection?
R. We constantly have to be in these actions toward connection until we discover that we are truly connected, and the sign for it is that we discover the Creator inside this connection of ours. To this extent our connection from the side of the vessel begins to be in the same quality as the light that surrounds us, the light begins to appear in the vessel. This is called ‘the revelation of the Creator to the created being.’
14. S. (37:36) On one hand, we have ‘love your friend as yourself,’ as the law of the Torah. On the other hand, Rabbi Shimon’s disciples before they began to work, they wanted to kill one another. How do we work with it? It confuses me.
R. It's not confusing you because you haven't even started. They would come to a lesson, just like you come to the morning lesson and they would feel that there is no relationship between them, there is no connection. But they feel that there needs to be a connection but it's not present. Then they discover against the present state, the desired state. The present state is that they are indifferent to one another and even maybe hate, rejecting maybe, even hating one another. What appears to them appears to them as a result of the work they have done beforehand. Then whatever they attained the previous day, on a spiritual level, becomes overnight, a corporeal death. That as much as I was connected to them yesterday, today I feel that they repulse me, I don't want to look at them. And it's all so that, right now, on top of the current state, we will determine for ourselves a new state, a new connection, stronger and ever-growing connection.
15. S. (39:43) How can we constantly want a corrected state, and how can we strengthen that state, reinforce it?
R. Think about it all the time and you will see just where you are in your attitude towards it. You’re close to it, far away from it, you hate it, don't want to come close to it. But you will see it as a goal before your eyes. Most of the hours of the day you only have the feeling of this world, without imagining or portraying our spiritual state together with that. I'm not saying that you have to see the corporeal world through the spiritual world, meaning why am I seeing the world the way I am? Because I see it through the broken vessel, but if I would try to correct my vessel, I would see the spiritual world, the corrected world. The Creator, Divinity dwells over and covers everything rather everything depends on a person's attitude towards reality. That's why our wisdom is called the wisdom of Kabbalah -- reception, perception: How do we receive and perceive reality where we seemingly are. We are not in any reality except that which is portrayed in us according to our vessels.
Excerpt 2 (42:03 - 42:22)
16. S. (42:35) Sometimes we hear that we have to measure each day how much we have gotten closer or connected. On the other hand we hear that the more we advance, the more resistance is revealed. How do we measure at the end of the day how much we have gotten closer?
R. Both according to the closeness and according to the resistance. No, I won't give an example. I want you to ask according to what we are reading and not according to what you feel like asking and I'm saying this to everyone. You understand one thing and you ask another. How does what you’re saying relate to what we’re reading?
S. Most important thing that stands before you today is the unity of friends, so about this unity of friends, we hear that we measure it according to the resistance that’s revealed between us in the work. On the other hand, I hear that at the end of the day, we have to see how much we have gotten closer and this is how we measure the connections between us. So how do we measure the closeness between the friends?
R. You don't have the vessels with which to measure. No, only according to some feeling, sensation, it's not accompanied by numbers that you can measure, you still don't have the vessel.
S. So what do you mean when you want us to measure?
R. To try to measure and see that we are incapable of doing it. I know why I’m saying what I am saying. I want you to see that you lack the vessels, you don't have any grip on anything realistically, tangibly. Okay, it will come
17. S. (44:31) Besides anything, where is the difficulty in the work of the Creator expressed?
R. In many things they confuse a person in many ways. But we have to understand, ‘it's everything but leave.’ Because if a person leaves, he becomes a beast, through and through and his life is about his body as long as the body lives on the animate level, and that's how he continues to live like any other living creature.
S. So that is my question. What is the difficulty about the work of the Creator other than leave? What's the difficulty -- I work with the Creator, I connect with the friends?
R. ‘Anything but leave’ is not the work, it is a situation I am sometimes in where I feel like running away but I still stay. We have to see to it in the group, that we reinforce each other but besides this, a person has to do spiritual work. ‘Anything but leave’ is not spiritual work, it is already against a corporeal breakout. Spiritual work is when I constantly try through the connection with the friends to achieve the revelation of the Creator between us, like the revelation of the force of bestowal between us.
S. Meaning if I can't get it together with the friends, is this the difficulty of the work?
R. Yes, first of all, it's all from Him. So when the Creator gives you such doubts with relation to the friends that you cannot get along with them, you also cannot get along with them, actually, you have to ask the Creator. So the difficulty is not to connect with the friends because you can connect with them only on the corporeal level that is given to us in this world, but to spiritually connect, you can’t. To begin with, you can’t -- you have to ask the Creator to give you the power to connect between friends so that you will be able to rise above the powers of rejection, this is called rising above the coarseness, and start building the screen and reflected light. The whole of the spiritual vessel is built above the hatred above or on top of rejection. It's not like hatred, rejection, indifference and all those feelings go away -- don't go away, they intensify more and more. You want to build the power of connection above these feelings, despite them, and this is called ‘building faith above reason.’
S. Only being in the ten, of course.
R. None. I understand you're running away from the 10. In the corporeal level, egotistically, it seems like it's the best thing because then you are in your own powers, under your own control but it's not real spiritual state. By this you exit the broken system of Adam HaRishon. The fact that we are in a broken group, in a broken state where we don't know how to get along, it is all in order for us to find the connection between us, how it should be. So we will ask for the power of connection, of scrutiny, so it will be clarified among us. And then we will start putting together this puzzle, this system and in it, to the extent that we reveal the need to connect, the power of connection, the manner of connection, by this, we gradually discover within us the condition required for the revelation of the Creator. Feelings that will be revealed in us in order to reveal Him.
S. If there is a feeling of repulsion from the friends in the 10, how do I do it?
R. The Creator gave it to you on purpose. Everything comes from Him. You can't attribute anything to anyone but only to the Creator in the spiritual work, only to the Creator.

18. R. So everything is already arranged. Kabbalists have explained everything already in the reason we don't understand them is because we are not in them. We try to understand it but it is like a baby trying to understand what it is being called that's what we are like of course the Creator understands that this is how we are behaving it is correct so we can say to a baby whatever we want but it will still play and do according to what it understands gradually bit by bit they understand our words they absorb our words and we begin to understand one another and this is called the revelation of the Creator to the created being.
19. S. (51:54) Are you saying that there are no forces to connect and so I naturally pray to the Creator and what comes out for me at least when I pray the creator gives me the revelation of evil that I'm such an egoist I can't do it and naturally I am running away into the 10 to long for the good for us to ask to connect but that's a result of the revelation of evil. Should I pray that the Creator will give us the force of love?
R. We have to ask the Creator to give you a good force, good relationship, good connection among everyone so we will feel the friends, not according to what we hear and what seems to me in my intellect but according to what is really happening in them so I will feel it directly in my heart. The thing that is as result of the shattering instead of one heart and one mind we get impressions from each other from our egos through our sights and hearing and the rest of the senses we are impressed with each other and because it's through our egos we get it in a negative way, but all in all we have to understand that if we want to picture it correctly we have to picture ourselves belonging to one heart, one body, one soul, and the fact that today we feel opposite to this this is the shattering this is really the shattering. Let's position them one opposite the other and see how much we need to get closer here and let's ask the Creator to build the connection. We don't need to make any efforts other than to detect the shattering and demand of him to correct it that's it. Let's focus the problem on the real one. The Creator broke the vessel, set us apart from each other and now He is giving us a chance to get closer again. We come see they can't, let's ask Him to fix it. That's it. There's nothing else. We have no other work, we don't need to exert ourselves to correct the vessel. We need to exert to ask the Creator to correct the Kli, the vessel
S. When I pray and the revelation of evil comes, I naturally run my way into the 10, we shouldn't run away but continuously turn to the Creator to give us the force of love and bestow?
R. Of course in everything we have to see how we turn to the Creator, there's not a moment in reality that is not intended to direct us to prayer to the Creator because only in this do we correct the vessel and after the breaking of the vessel, of Adam HaRishon, there is no other reality other than in every moment, into every situation is there in order to correct the vessel this is all of our work, this is all of our life, of all of humanity only to bring us closer to this.
20. S. (56:00) When will you feel a descent, feel separation, rejection, it typically comes together with confusion. How, in that state, to find that pinpointed prayer aimed at asking the Creator to come quickly out of it seems like Rabbi Akiva was standing under the waves?
R. It's not enough if we like Rabbi Akiva, just bow our heads. We have to nonetheless, together with the 10, within the 10, we need to scrutinize what we need to do. How we should advance and how we should ask the Creator what exactly we need, what we want. We have to scrutinize these things quickly through the point but we have to do these things.
21. S. (57:06) What do we need to build inside of us in order to capture the true spiritual reality?
R. We need to attain the correction of creation besides the desire we need nothing. In this we help each other, in the desire. After the desire with confidence. We need to understand that through the cohesion between us, the connection between us, within that connection we hold the Creator. Through the connection between us we can turn to him and force him to do the work. This is called “my sons have defeated me”. He wants this.
22. S. (59:20) It says that the goal is to reach a connection in which we will reveal the creator. The left line, the right eye. The left is reflection and the right eye is to turn to the Creator?
R. I want you to ask about what we're learning. Not what seems to you. Do you understand? You might be asking correctly but it is not according to where we are. One eye, the other eye it all might be correct but I don't want to even get into it. I want you to ask according to what we are reading now.
23. (59.12) Why is it that when love is revealed there is a feeling that we have to be very careful about it and preserve it as if a treasure was revealed. Do Kabbalists watch out in the revelation of love?
R. What do you mean watch out? They don't want to lose it. They want to advance in this more and more because we have no other goal other than love. Love is the complete connection between us between the created beings and the Creator. I love, everlasting love, love your friend is to self-love of the Creator. Love the complete connection, complete bonding. Of course it is entirely to bestow.
S. How do Kabbalists express love to the other?
R. When we get to it we will see it does not follow our intellect because you think love means I love like a mother loves her baby without any calculations there is no such thing first of all there is a calculation is my love. Not destructive love but instructive love, constructive love.

24. S. Even though Baal HaSulam wrote here they are not that simple it is not clear what is the meaning that the yearning if I go to the yearning for bodily matters is hate and they cannot behave between those and the Creator?
R. Advance towards connection the more we are in states that are more contradictory either hate or love hatred like the disciples of Rabbi Shimon where it suddenly erupt and love between them different time and these extreme states are actually typical to those who are advancing on the path there is no kind of lukewarm state intermediate where it is neither. The states are rather very quick and intense. so we need to understand because we are all in the 10 we can always balance these jumps from plus to minus and bring them to a state where we spread the blanket of love over all of our state's like a roof we build a roof over the 10 which is called screen reflected light and in this way we begin to build the vessel Adam HaRishon, in our 10 we should come to resemble the corrected Adam HaRishon.
S. Baal HaSulam writes in his letter to his students and also Rabash the question is that, Rabash tells you about any means for increasing love?
R. There is nothing, there is nothing here you can learn from anything or anyone, it is you.
S. Baal HaSulam writes this letter to his students. Among them was Rabash, the question is, did any of those tactics that you used to increase the love in the group so we can learn from it?
R. No there is no such thing as Kabbalists telling you more than they write. Everything they can say to the general public to the students they write. Remember, to there is no oral teaching it is all given whatever they can explain in words they write this is on one hand on the other hand you need to understand that everything is written the truth is everything is written but we don't see it and we can see only on condition that we will try to reach it. What are we looking for? We are looking to circumvent, so we don't go to connection, what's the result from connection this is what I want to happen to me, it will never work. We have to come to a state where you want the exertion, the labor, not the explanation or anything the harder it is the more I enjoy it. Because here I can express my relation, me towards the Creator and what he set up for me so I will accept this whole life gladly everything that happens to be here with all of objection to me. For example for everything that happens to me I accept it gladly, accept it with the understanding that it is from the Creator and he will do what he needs to do what needs to be done so I'm not looking for ways to circumvent it, to detour it. We don't look for it and don't look for any alternative ways, only through connections, by that you get closer to the Creator, only by this systemically, inside the vessels because we're inside the vessels. If we position our vessels correctly so that they are more and more congruent with the Creator this is our progress. Stop poking into things we have to poke and delve into ourselves and get closer emotionally and mentally.
25. S. (01:08:44) The problem it feels lately is that what it's like grabbing air, the day happens and then nothing is there, it all disappears, somehow, what is the advice for this?
R. Prayer.
26. S. (01:09:20) What are bodily matters?
R. Anything that is in order to receive.
S. Every time I try to connect to friends and I reveal resistance, is that also the lust of the body?
R. I don't know I don't want to tell you yes or no, I don't know what you mean, what is written, is written. Read it several times until it becomes clear to you to the extent you need to clarify it you will get the clarification.

26. R. Right we mustn't forget that by this we can correct the system of Adam HaRishon. In our 10 still, it's when we come to our ten and it's clear to us that we should connect and how we should correct ourselves we suddenly discover that in our ten there begins to be we begin to feel all of Adam HaRishon, the whole vessel of Adam HaRishon. That's the way it is, this is why this work doesn't disappear we just continue it more and more, the ten seemingly absorbs within it all the desires, all the qualities of this whole wide world and we through the instrument of the ten begin to see all of reality the whole of the corporeal world with all of the still, vegetative and animate and speaking in it. I want to have both perceptions in me not to erase this world, I live in it and continue even though I would like people on the street at work or elsewhere, I relate to them as living in them together in the corporeal world. I don't pretend like I am spiritual and they are corporeal, material, no I have to be like each and every one of them. R. You are looking to come together with them to the Creator you are not looking to steal something from the friend in order to get to the Creator on your own, you are looking for how you can connect to your friend, so that with them together you will come to the Creator.
S. We will discover the whole world in our ten and exert in the ten as universally as possible, so what is this whole world that we are trying to discover and how to discover it within a friend's desire?
R. When I connect to a friend I extend myself and come out of myself and to that extent I become ready to absorb the whole of the outside reality and this is the whole world and it does not matter, if I can to some extent exit towards the friend but I already have the power of bestowal and in it I can receive and perceive what is outside of me. When I perceive the system outside of me, I perceive all of it even though it is to a very small or frail extent.
