Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. Introduction to The Book of Zohar. Item 66

1. R. (00:12) Yes, here Baal HaSulam gives us the general overview of all of our attitude and relation towards creation so let's go.

Item 66 (00:35)“ Bear in mind that in everything is..”

2. R. (01:01) Meaning that there is a division, a very special division from above on all the creatures that according to their preparation for the attainment of the Creator are divided into three lines that are called Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. These are the names, they are not people, they're not nations, there is a part that is called the internality of the world that is called Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob the three lines in humanity. It is really humanity and not really people but rather it's inclinations that exist within humanity.

There is a part that is called the nations of the world, 70 desires and forces that are external to the three forces of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, which is why in Israel themselves there is internality who are the workers of the Creator, the complete. There's also the externality who do not devote themselves in the work of the Creator and in the nations of the world. There's also internality and the externality, those who harm and so on and the division continues.

Also there is internality within Israel themselves which is the complete servants of the Creator and there's externality, those who do not devote themselves to the work of the Creator and engage only in the practical, we see people who keep practically in this world and this is a clear sign that they are not and they do not belong to what is called,' the people of Israel the internal ones rather the external ones, also there's internality in every person in Israel within and there's the point in the heart and the externality with which is the among the servants of the Creator and the children of the Israel that is internality. Among the nations of the world there is the inner nationality which is righteous of the nations of the world and there's externality which are the crass and harmful among them.

Reading number 66 (04:31)

3. R. (04:46) In everything meaning also and spirituality and in corporality in order to bestow and in order to receive.

Reading continues (04:57) "Bear in mind that in everything". (again)

4. S. (07:07) Do we in our different states also belong to those different discernments?

R. It's not constant, it's not the constant quality in each and every one it can change depending on what a person deals with and however he arranges himself under which upper influence he is governed.

S. What does it mean that eventually he reaches attaining the secrets of the Torah and that determines who he is

R. Depending who, who do you speak of?

S. We just read that this degree is determined according to a person's attainment of the secrets of the Torah that determines who he is.

R. There are people who have the desire to reach and attain the secrets of Torah. These are people who only have the desire to understand what is spoken, and there are those who don't even want that, they just want to keep what is demanded of them to do as simple people in their actions that they need to know and more than that they don't care, they don't want. Accordingly they pick up the books and take the books that are necessary and study that and so on, meaning there are a few stages as usual which are the still, vegetative, and speaking and every part that we arrive in nature we discover additional four degrees.

S. Many times when you turn to us you say that you belong to the internal part of the world and you have responsibility

R. This is everyone, this is everyone,it doesn't matter on what personal and private state do you are on Rather a person who is advancing on the path he is being thrown from side to side to state to stay in order to clarify this against that it says from darkness there is light and in this way he has to go through his private states.

5. S. (10:05) Is there a connection between externality and internality or is one more important than the other or they depend on one another?

R. First of all, everything depends on the root of the soul. There are people with a high root of the soul and there are those with the low root of the soul. The main thing is for each and every one to clarify and scrutinize themselves and realize themselves and everything that he has received on behalf of nature, on behalf of the Creator. Out of that he already comes to his degree and even if he is with a lower soul but tries to realize it then he comes to his realization and he keeps the intention of the Creator towards him. That's why it doesn't matter where we reach her to what degree or state what's important is how on a personal and private level we realize ourselves correctly. That's it, that's why I don't look at others and enter with them in some competition, rather I have to realize what I have to realize.

6. S. (11:59) What does it mean to attain the root of the soul?

R. We cannot see that in advance but we have to realize and actualize ourselves as much and however much I can arrive to.

7. S. (12:32) He says that Israel himself there is internality and the work is in the Creator and the externality that don't devote themselves to the work of the Creator what does it mean the whole workers of the Creator

R. That they want to come to devotion of the Soul.

S. How can you attain that?

R. By trying to attain dedication.

S. You started the lesson with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

R. They are just names and degrees.

S. You said the Zohar was written in three lines. Can you explain what that means?

R. No, this is not the subject. This is not the topic.

8. S. (13:26) The 70 nations were purposely made by the Creator to help me through the state of the proselytes to reach the inner part like we say one was created against the other is it like that?

R. Partially, yes.

9. S. (13:57) To realize or Implement yourself I can only do it towards the Ten and no other way, I came to this question 100 years ago with the wisdom of Kabbalah and only now I can get it, that you can only do everything towards the friends.

R. You are absolutely right and if you are not realizing it and implementing towards the 10 you have no other way.

10. S. (14:37) He shares a few discernments about the internality of Israel, the nations of the world and the righteous. What's the difference between all of them? Why not call all of them Israel and all the externality of the nations?

R. Also in Israel there are degrees, also in the nations of the world there are degrees there are 70 nations of the world as you've heard.

S. But we learned whoever wants spirituality wants Israel?

R. Yes, but even though he's considered Israel and wants to climb towards it and arrive at it until he climbs he also goes through various degrees and states.

S. What's the difference between being fromIsrael and being righteous?

R. Read from that and maybe it will be clear that the nations of the world. He starts from his degree of being a part of the nations of the world he was a righteous and then the nations of the world and then the righteous nations of the world and then Israel, it's all according to his degree a person is called because otherwise all are resembling animals, everyone starts from the degree of an animal.

S. On every desire you go through all these stages

R. On every desire.

S. Each desire starts from being the externality of the nations

R. No, less than that. Every desire starts with the still.

S. It only starts when you want a correction?

R. Yes.

S. Then all these discernment starts accumulating what we have here

R. Yes.

11. S. (16:52) It is written that in everything there is an internality and an externality so could we say that there's a part of man and the group that doesn't want to connect and that's the external part of man in the group?

R. In each and every man there is an external and an internal state so what are you asking.

S. There's a part in the man or a group that doesn't want to come closer or connect or meet so that's the external part

R. Yes, this is a part of the desire to receive that rejection fights the connection with others this is called external. The part that wants to connect with others is called internal.

S. I constantly need to check if I relate to the external part or the internal part?

R. Yes, to what part are you relating to the friend to a person to everyone.

12. S. (18:02) Many times you tell us that we're asking questions not in the topic or from a personal interest, what should we scrutinize before we ask you a question so as not to harm the flow of the lesson.

R. It's very difficult to explain because it depends on how you look at every question and every state but to be together with us in the lesson and out of the lesson you're not there questions of the inner state but out of the questions that are awakened and everyone in that lesson. If you ask if you include it in everyone and out of that you ask then you are okay, then you are helping everyone to clarify the topic.

13. S. (19:12) There's the forces of the body that are corporeal forces that it feels like it doesn't change. Each one got the forces he got and that's what he has?

R. No, they also change but we don't know according to what sometimes we rise and then, boom We drop and then something else influences and again we we go into ourselves and we don't quite understand yet according to what formula we develop.

S. Can I ask a question like this, is there a difference between a spiritual state a person goes through and the corporeal forces?

R. In essence, essentially there's nothing that is not a part of the spiritual calculation of humanity and the individual, everything is connected and everything is in nature and is activated and worked on by one nature which is 'None Else Besides Him'. We are not yet in the complete attainment and the personal attainment where we can connect the individual in the collective and the collective in the individual and so we are confused, and out of that comes all of our questions that are being brought up.

14. S. (21:02) It turns out that also in the Ten there are friends that belong to the internal part and those that belong to the external part?

R. This is in each and everything, yes

S. Could it change?

R. This can all change and it doesn't matter it changes every time and we don't need to make here some scrutinies because we don't have the forces for that we are incapable in order for you to calculate what degree you have to be above that degree and sometimes even three degrees above that one, meaning we cannot scrutinize it.

S. Could we say that eventually the Ten should be included only from the internal part?

R. No, the entire Ten has to be so connected to one another that each is adding to one to the other with their own personal qualities and attributes where together they are presenting all together, that without being connected together nobody is complete.

15. S. (22:41) As long as I'm not in the state of Lishma, can I be in the state of Israel?

R. Usually the definition of Israel is Yashar Kel, that you are aimed towards that in what degree on what horse with what sharpness you are aimed to it is not spoken it doesn't clarify meaning if a person wants to reveal the Creator and has such a desire then that desire in a person is called Israel,Yashar Kel.

16. S. (23:26) The awakening in the heart of the desire to read our books Baal HaSulam and Rabash along with books that belong to more the practical part of the Torah does that mean that in my heart awakened the inner desire called israel?

R. Maybe partially, yes.

S. How to work with it?

R. Come to a place where they study Kabbalah and study. Learn to change yourself according to the qualities of the Creator.

17. S. (25:11) I hope this question it is in me but I do not know how to express it when we start studying Kabbalah we are put in tens and looking at this four levels I can see how over the last 11 years of studying Kabbalah I can see this for desires how they operate but how do we make sure that we don't structure it in a way that is an imbalance which thing could cause them to wake up and go their separate ways?

R. We simply have to advance with the group within the group. Otherwise of course we are going to have misdirection into every direction and we are not going to arrive at the right place. We have to be inside the Ten and together with the Ten advance, very simple. Nothing else to do now you need to understand it more and more as much as.. the demands of the Kabbalists to us are necessary demands.

Reading 67 (26:52) "When a person from Israel …."

Reading 67 (29:38)

18. R. (30:00) Meaning these are two desires in a person. One aimed towards the Creator and one towards this world and if he increases I desire towards the Creator and always wants to foster it above the desire for this world and everything that is here that the ego sees and yearns for then it is called that he develops the Israel in him.

Reading 67 (continues) “that is he dedicates the majority of his efforts to enhance and exalt his externality to benefit his soul and gives a little efforts to the mere necessity to sustain the nations of the world in him meaning the bodily needs as is written make your Torah permanent and your work temporary by doing so he makes the children of Israel sore upward."

19. S. (31:57) This phrase' to make your Torah permanent in your and your work temporary it is not clear ever, what does that mean?

R. It means that the Torah should be our permanent work and the rest of the things that you do, your profession and so on that should be temporary, meaning that you Torah or the wisdom of kabbalah you don't deviate from it. You just keep going and going and going everyday as many hours as you can and there are no stops and vacations in this or anything you just keep going but you are work wherever you make a living it doesn't really matter where or what there you can stop or work or go or change a different profession and so on. Meaning and studying Torah you cannot stop even one day and whatever business you do corporeal work you could take a vacation as much as you want.

S. This is also related to how a person associates himself meaning who he is. Is he accomplished yearning towards the Creator or is he successful in the world?

R. If you are for the Creator then so the more everybody has he invests in studying and coming closer to the Creator and the rest of the time he doesn't have to do it coming closer to the Creator. He deals in his corporeal profession in order to make a living.

20. S. (34:18) Israel is a desire in us to connect?

R. Yes, in order to reveal the Creator enough to give him contentment.

21. S. (34:39) The terminations of the world relate to an average person from the street that lives a regular life?

R. There is no such thing that a person off the street that has no tendency to the Creator belongs to the nations of the world, because to the nation of the world it means to him or it is clear to us that that person has no tendency towards anything except for a corporeal life. That also needs some kind of scrutin. Let's say a person reaches the wisdom of Kabbalah or somewhere that his scrutinizes what he wants to do in his life and so on and then he decides I want to live I want to be a simple person I'll go be some clerk somewhere or whether a scientist or some construction worker and nothing except for that. It is enough for me to live in this world the way everyone does.

What seems to him the way everyone lives and that is it that is called that a person belongs to the degree of the nations of the world. We have 70 types of those and there's also except for them, there is also Israel that yearn for the Creator and want to enter that so between the nations of the world we have better or worse towards others and also the children of Israel there is internality and externality that yearn for the correction of the world and work let us say like us that wanted and all our forces and every opportunity we have to do something with it and there are those that aren't so burning in it but there are some that not only are burning for revealing the Creator.

They do not even want to discover the Creator they have they don't have an inner tendency towards it but they have a tendency to the practical part tell me what to do I'll do it and leave me alone from all the rest of your stuff all your wisdoms and there are people like that I've heard these things more than once that's called a remedy, let me do something I'll just do it and except for that I do not want. On the contrary, all of them have such limitations that I won't search for anything more than this but I've got some kind of direction for my teacher and that's it that's enough. I'll just do that my whole life until I die. That's also not good. A person always needs to search how to ascend more and more more and more towards the Creator.

22. S. (38:91) When we disseminate are we favoring the internality over the externality?

R. Yes, we want the internality to develop to expand, that's why this work is more internal and more respectable.

23. S. ( 39:03) There's a sentence that is very concerning,' that he has to increase his internality for his soul" so what does it mean? That I don't reach spirituality if I don't reach?

R. If you don't raise your internality, meaning your most inner strong desire in your heart. If you don't raise that towards the Creator. That you want to feel and understand, and connect to Him and adhere to him, so you are a beast.

S. When there are things that a person can do in this world?

R. You're looking for excuses as to why you don't want to yearn to the Creator and higher forces.

S. I want to, but there are conditions. Once you have kids and family. You know that. How can you switch that so the spiritual is more important to me than to walk after.

R. The problem is the importance. Each one can say that I have a thousand corporeal problems that won't bring me to spirituality, to spiritual problems.

S. This is a classic example that I hear from friends. For example, in the Congress, there are problems and it is very difficult to come to the Congress, the money, and this and that. How do I turn into such seriousness that it is most important for me to come to this Congress for 3 days? How do I search from all the problems around me, how do you do it?

R. I'm depicting to myself that in the Congress they're giving out tickets to the next world

S. Oh really?

R. To attain the next world. You get like a code and then after the Congress you get come home to your computer and you use that code to enter the computer and through that you reach the entrance to the next world. That's it.

S. That's what I need to think?

R. Why not, is it not true ?

S. It is true but how can I think about this? I come home, I look at the computer and then I'm in the next world. The question is before that, how do I put all of the other…

R. The end of the action begins with a thought

S. What does that mean?

R. It means you have to already think about what you all have from starting an action.

S. The importance of this then?

R. Yes exactly.

S. Who can help me with this importance? Who can give me an example of such a…

R. None search for it. Turn to the Creator to help you.

24. S. (42:44) In the last paragraph it talks about the stranger that is in the midst of you and that externality in him rises lies and as a result the children of Israel, the internality in the world will plunge down, even though you're in the last generation can we be set back by?

R. I don't know what to say, a person has to scrutinize this. This is speaking towards an individual person.

25. S. (43:36) How to search it not to miss and strengthen the opportunity to always rise to the Creator?

R. It is a good question. I think that we first need to connect ourselves to the group and the main thing is to work in connection in a group, not just to enter there with all your head and not to get confused but to understand that the wholeness of the group as a system that through it we discovered the Creator that should be important to me like the revelation of the Creator, like the Creator himself. That is how I have to relate to the group, if I don't have such a group I search for one and find it because without that I won't have any way to attain the meaning of life

I need to put these things before me in the most clear way and that is the most difficult. It is the most difficult to connect to the group with the revelation of the Creator, with the meaning of life, with Gmar Tikkun. That the group exists there as a vessel that without it I cannot reach my implementation. That is what we need to do. I think that between us there are also women that can do it and it all depends on the person. Good Luck.

26. S. (45:44) When we start a workshop everyday for example, can we focus for the first few minutes to focus just on that?

R. Yes, that is good, that is very important and good. That is how you should start your day.

27. S. (46:30) I'm very nervous but I hope that everything is going to be okay. I want to thank you from the German Kli especially from our Ten, women German. I wanted to express gratitude for all of our men who you teach. A huge gratitude to everything that you are doing for us. I don't know how to ask questions but I always express gratitude too.

R. Don't worry everything is great for you, you are successful, I feel your heart, I know your husband do not worry.

S. I wanted to thank all the friends who ask good questions when you have an inner question you always, I always receive answers. Of course I learn a lot from such great friends and I am grateful for such an opportunity to be here in Petach Tikva with the great friends we could learn a lot from. As you teaches us that if we are here we bring great great great importance and of course we take this greatness and the importance and pass it on in such a feeling that we arrive at the Abraham's tent and we receive a lot of wisdom from all of the great teachers that are that have passed it to you and you are passing it to us this inner connection.

R. You have a great group in Holland and you are connected to us, you can advance very smoothly. You are always here with us. Ok, no more questions?

28. S. (49:10) These items always bring so many questions. For example, a person of Israel he increases and respects and a person does that? As if there are so many forces that are acting on a person.

R. But where is the beginning? Where is the root of the action? In man? That he belongs to Israel and the general vessel. Meaning his desire is aimed towards the Creator. That is how he was born.

S. But he is a result of the environment.

R. I don't know where that comes from. I don't know where he came from. I know one thing, that person has an ID and it's written that he belongs to Israel. Israel I mean that his heart, his spiritual ID, his heart is aimed towards the Creator. He wants him.

S. How could it be that he is walking the opposite way meaning increases the externality over the internality if he comes from Israel?

R. Because he has a burdening of the heart. It is the creator sending that to him. There is None Else Besides Him. The heart of the ministers and Kings is in the heart of the Creator. Everybody's heart is in the hands of the Creator and the Creator will increase the desire in the heart of each and everyone and upon that a person needs more and more to aim himself to yearn exactly to reach the purpose of creation.

S. And a person also increases the internality and then Israel rises. The Creator does it?

R. On that it is called that the King resurrects the dead and brings salvation.

S. This cooperation from the person who is influenced by the vessel and the Creator who influences a person?

R. Yes.

S. Yes. How can you take this correct relationship, we can say that the Creator did everything then He is guilty.

R. It’s not a computer. I’m sorry.

S. Then how to be a good partner?

R. Try to incorporate in the Creator through incorporating in the ten.

S. So then I heard from everyone.

R. Now, so you have help from everybody. You have help from everybody because you fell in them and along with them and they are guilty about it and you are guilty about it and then everybody starts coming out. That is why it is called that we eventually come to the general correction.

S. So one person skews or doesn't skew?

R. Each one determines in the end.

S. So a person in a group makes a mistake he drops everyone?

R. He drops everyone and that is how he has to feel that he is responsible.

S. And then because there is one kli that is in corporation and they complete him and uplift everyone?

R. Correct. Correct, yes that is according to the simple laws of nature. There is nothing too special here of anything according to a rational mind we have.

S. So really the most important thing is through the friends and the study and in this everything is complete.

R. Right.

R. How long have you been with us?

S. I don't know from the morning.

R. Not from the morning, all together.

S. I’m a new person everyday. 8 years, maybe 13 years.

R. He's right every day it starts new. Ok good. Good luck. But we see. You see how a wise guy.

S. Such an amazing lesson that you can have from such great friends and from a huge huge Rav. All together we come to a great feeling and I want to give my gratitude to all of you to the world vessel, especially to here who has been caring for me very well and all of the tens here so that is really amazing, great gratitude to you all friends. I’ll think of you much and much. I still have a question Rav. It is about the Arava Congress, you said yesterday it was a beautiful metaphor about this helicopter. Of course, I've been in the Army so I visualize this helicopter, sitting in his helicopter and going to the desert and we are sitting there together with friends and then with dark spots somewhere in the desert, we drop down with ropes and then we are, wow help the dark and you only depend on the friends.

How do we come to this feeling, you know not just driving with buses to a luxury and we go to there we go to tent, it is sort of a holiday trip to the Arava but really this feeling you try to express we are there alone and we only depend on the friends. We need them. How do we come to prepare ourselves that we come in this deep feeling that we only need the bodies, the friends and that we can do this together fight this war against the evil inclination to make our connection come true? We want to make this step Rav. How do we help each other come to this feeling this deep feeling that we need each other to connect?

R. I don't know what to tell you, how to reach such a feeling but as an army person you you've probably felt all these things. I was in the Army for a short time and for a few years I've also worked in the Army as a civilian in a airplane base a air base but commitment. The main thing we have, well in the army it's a person acquires a feeling that if he doesn't work along with his group he is lost, they are lost they are done. One is no force. One has no force. That's what we need to know.

That is in corporeality. In spirituality we have been learning this for a few years. In spirituality, one isn’t counted, doesn’t count. Simply that is what we need to do. The main thing for us is connection. That is why we are waiting for this Congress so much in the desert and that we will feel the friends together and incorporate with everyone together and whoever cannot come will be with us in a virtual connection and in this way we will reach the purpose of creation, the purpose of life.
