Baal HaSulam. The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]
Reading The Arvut (0:15) “All of Israel are responsible for one another. This is to speak of the mutual guarantee when all of Israel became responsible..”
1. R. (07:22) So we see as much as the Arvut, it works in the entire shattered vessel of Adam Harishon, that one soul that was divided into many many parts and in each one of us there is a part. As much as we have to work to connect all of these parts again into that one soul. Obviously it is not simple work, it is not easy and it is not quick, but we are in it. And with you we are implementing it. Whatever happened until now, we have already done a lot, we do not remember it, it was in other incarnations, but we have done a lot of these corrections and now before us we need to make the last correction.
The difference between all the previous corrections and the last one is that all the previous ones were done on the degrees of the still, vegetative and inanimate in the speaking degree, and now we have to correct the speaking of the speaking degree. Meaning that even though it is the final correction, it is the most difficult because we need to correct our ego on the highest degree and in the connection between us, the highest one, until we come close to one another as one man with one heart. R. That only after we feel ourselves under the control of our ego, which is the control of the Pharaoh, only then we can want to run from his control, to rise above him, above our Pharaoh and connect between us as one man with one heart.
S. When a person is still in his self-love, he cannot enter the Arvut at all?
R. One contradicts the other. How can it be that we will enter the Arvut if we are still slaves? Meaning that on our desires the intentions to receive are controlling them. So how can it be that I will be connected to others in order to give them, to supply something for them, to help them, if I am myself not free yet to come out of my ego.
S. So what can I give my ten, only example and effort?
R. Examples and efforts, and in this way every man will help his friend. And then the Creator connects to our efforts and in such a way we will be rewarded with redemption. And after the redemption we will need to build corrections, to perform corrections on that shattered soul, to build the temple, as we say.
3. S. (12:00) I have a question about the Arvut in the 10, especially if one friend really needs help. How can we avoid being the ones that do not want to be in Arvut , not sticking to egoistic love but be in this process?
R. What we are learning now has to bring us to a decision that we must reach Arvut. Arvut is what connects all of man's vessels, shattered, dispersed, smashed. We have to take it all together into one vessel, into one soul. That is how we restore ourselves. So we will have to engage in it. If we were in a good state between us, we could give strength to one another, so we would be able to help, let's say, our friends in Kiev with electricity. Now they have problems with electricity. You see they have dark screens there. So now we could think about them and give them our strength and our desires and the light would just turn on there. We are with you Kiev, we will help you and now we will only think about you. the friend in the corner who has light, he's not in Ukraine, he is in Holland.
4. S. (14:31) In the beginning of this article, it is written that each and every one in Israel was asked if he's willing to take upon himself the Arvut. How is it possible that after everyone agreed and they said ‘we shall do and we shall hear’ that they fell into self love again?
R. That was in the past and then on purpose, in order to give him a true shattered vessel, the Creator broke the vessel, but it is the Creator who broke the vessel. Their records came from Him and not from them. That is why what happened in history is that also the vessel that connected on the light of faith, the first temple, and the vessel that connected on the light of Hochma, that is the second temple, these vessels were shattered because of people. So now they have records from these people that can be corrected and we will already have a temple, meaning a vessel of the soul that is complete and whole and it will not shatter anymore, and it will be there forever.
S. How in a state where there is complete Arvut in a nation, one suddenly falls and draws others after him?
R. It is not exactly like that. The one that falls, he is always the one that is on the highest degree because he has the greatest coarseness and the greatest burden and he also has to have the greatest force. That is why we can hear, we read about the head priest, the Cohen, that was in the temple. As much as he worked the great work of the Cohens, the priests, and along with that he was in a horrible work of his inclinations. He used to sell everything for gold and respect and honor. We cannot understand this now but we will scrutinize this gradually. We will advance equally to all these things. We just now need to see as much as our work is work that comes from the darkness and we just need to connect more and more and more. The more we connect, we have to understand what happened and what will happen more.
S. By what disagreement that was given then compels today, that is relevant today to the ones that agreed?
R. The agreements back then should be as today, just according to the new vessels that are revealed. The agreement was that we can or want to be as one man with one heart and all of Israel are friends. Meaning, whoever yearns for the Creator they want to be friends. Meaning, connected between them and ‘who is with me towards the Creator’, what Judah cried out, his name also points towards unity and we have to reach that state. That is it.
5. S. (19:17) There is a question out of this state of Arvut, what is the essence of the spiritual meal?
R. Connection connection of everyone together around the meal, the meal symbolizes the receiving of the upper light, that is why we supposedly symbolize it in our meal by receiving by the upper light we accept it together around that mutual table.
S. What results should we have after this meal?
R. The fact that we connected, that the meal tied us, the meal is equal, it’s like receiving the upper light, when the upper light comes, we come out of the meal completely connected between us, and we hope that it will really help us, strengthen our connections, each and every group, and each one on his own, to be more connected stronger more aimed towards the goal and the general connection, where the Creator will be revealed in.
